Forever with the Enemy Next Door

Rate this book
This is a spicy, laugh-out-loud, small-town romance with a colorful supporting cast of meddling townsfolk and family, lots of spicy swooniness, humor, and a heaping spoonful of HEA. It can absolutely be read as a standalone.

What’s a bride to do when her newly-minted firefighter husband spots smoke in Australia on her honeymoon? Pray the fire he insists on fighting doesn’t kill him. And then plot his murder yourself.

All I wanted was two weeks Down Under with my new husband. Catch up with my two younger brothers, drink Australian wine, and maybe join a certain high-altitude club in the sky.

That’s not too much to ask, is it? The answer is yes. Yes, it is.

Between seasickness, a whisky-pong-induced hangover, and a fire that threatens one of the world’s largest inner city parks, I’ll be a widow before my one-month anniversary.

One minute we’re enjoying lunch with my brothers in a Kings Park cafe; the next, Blake Freaking Sinclair takes his hero-complex up a level when he’s fighting a fire with a garden hose.

One concussion, two broken limbs, and three days in hospital later, the press calls him a hero. I call him a dead man.

At least we were upgraded to First Class for the flight home. Even if we can’t make use of the restroom.

Did I mention broken limbs?

Always a Firefighter

Blake and Siobhan had a rocky 10 years before finally getting married. Now that they are embarking on their honeymoon, his instincts to help affect them in an unexpected and heart-pounding way. This was an interesting read with a little steam and spice to lighten up the pages.

Forever with the Enemy Next Door is beautifully crafted, well balanced and perfectly executed by Author NJ Monroe. NJ Monroe continues to show what a remarkable author they are with each book that I have read from so far. The characters are beautifully crafted and perfectly executed throughout the book. I absolutely adored getting to know the main characters and witnessing the story come to fruition. I couldn’t get enough of the main characters and their fabulous story. I do love that Siobhan and Blake have a happy ending to their story. I would definitely recommend this book for anyone to checkout and give it a read. I’m looking forward to reading more amazing romances from this author in the future.

This book was such a fun approach. They are already married and are battling outside forces to make it work. He’s a fireman who can’t resist the urge to fight fires on their honeymoon. But not with her. He fights fire that ends up with him hurt and with broken bones. So frustrating! He’s so nice and good, but I wanted him to put more focus on the marriage in some scenes, because it clearly was important to her. And then some scenes were spot on with the focus on the two of them. She puts up with more than any female should deal with on her honeymoon. But in spite of all that, it was a most appealing read. I enjoyed the plot and pacing of the unique approach.

I was hooked, I mean like really hooked. I became a fan of the writing style of this book.
The way it was interactive and easier to connect with the character. Blake was a sweet and strong firefighter and also a fun character.
I did love Shiv as well, the way her character interacted and how she narrated her story, was beautiful.
And it was different from your usual next-door romance too. We always get a story before the forever and ends when we finally get it but this was after the forever, how it looked.
I also enjoyed Australian slang and culture and that too in a fun way. I would recommend this book to all.

There is a LOT of digressing, especially at the beginning of the book (more than I needed) but it was a fun “after the vows” novella to complete their story - ten years in the making! Blake and Siobhan were cute together and their quirks worked for them, though Blake really was a big baby when he was hungover. A quick read with lots of chuckles and hotness.

This is an adorable book!! I love how it's a glimpse of the happier ever after part. Most books end with the HEA and this one starts with the HEA (this book is the second book of the series and the first book ended with a HEA) and it is definitely a hoot! It was a quick read for me and I enjoyed the giggles it gave me throughout! Give this one a try...it is a fun one!

Great book. It was a sweet and romance moment and it was a steamy page turner and the suspense was intense. It was about second chance at love and happiness again.

Good book

I really enjoyed this sequel to the first book. The only problem I noticed was editing, the fist book Shiv teaches 2 nd grade, this one says 4th, nothing major, but a continuity error.

Not a bad story but I didn't appreciate all the explicit sex scenes
