Karma might be needed for it's biggest feat yet... saving a wedding.
Henry and Alice's wedding was supposed to be small, simple, and soon. Unfortunately, Alice has disappeared, leaving behind nothing but a cryptic note. The only way to save my brother's wedding is to get to the bottom of what happened to Alice.
The thing is, Alice has secrets. Secrets none of us could've ever imagined.
Trouble has come to Mystic Hollow, and Karma might be needed if Henry has any hope of getting his bride down the aisle in time.
I have read every book in this series, have loved them all, and found them 5-star worthy......except this one. I found the storyline to have many inconsistencies as well as, to borrow the same word another reviewer used, anticlimactic. Karma didn't even show up in a way she normally does. But basically, I just found myself saying 'Huh?' alot , trying to figure out where it was going and why it felt like gaps were missing in the story.
I wanted to love this book though, so I will concentrate on the things I liked. I enjoyed seeing the love expressed between the characters, familial love, friendship, and love for a partner.
Alice has gone missing, Henry is devastated, Emma is frantic with worry for both of them. Daniel is investigating and Beth, Carol, and Deva join Emma in investigating leads everywhere Alice was supposed to have gone before she disappeared. Unfortunately, there is little Karma can do but fortunately, she has her trusty friends who are determined to help her through the crisis. The list is checked off with almost no results until Krissy gives a valuable hint. The search by the whole team continues, despite their other obligations, with several unexpected twists until a Happy Ever After conclusion to the mystery but a new crisis unfolds. Python: who would expect the cat was right?
I've loved this series from the beginning but this book couldn't compare to the rest of them. I had to wait a year for this one to come out and it wasn't worth the wait. Karma only happened twice and it was just small stuff. Trying to figure out what happened to Alice was a bit exciting but once found, it was anticlimactic. It was too short and extremely underwhelming. The one part that was exciting was the very last couple of pages which were the prologue for the next book which we'll have to wait another year for.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. I liked how they were able to find Alice and the times Karma was used. Alice's grandma was rescued with a bonus outcome. I liked Alice and Henry's wedding. You always should listen to the cat and I'm curious to what happens next.
Karma's Save The Date book 9 in the Magical Midlife in Mystic Hollow series by author duo L.A. Boruff and Lacey Carter is so good it just sucked me right into the story! The gang has another mystery to solve and Karma oh Karma needs to be dealt out! Loved it!

This is a great story! I love how the girls work together to find Alice…getting further than the police. But despite their success for most of this story, the book ends with the revelation of something bigger and badder. This series is so much fun to read!
