What a sizzling corker this was! 🔥 Just when I thought Lily Sampson couldn’t top The Switch, she goes and knocks it out of the park with this one! Told from two perspectives, Alice, living in a luxurious flat but completely broke, and Mina, wife of a high-profile MP. Neither character was particularly likeable land yet, I was completely invested in the tangled mess of these 2 woman’s lives!

Secrets, lust, lies, and toxic obsession simmer through every page. I won’t spoil a thing because this is best enjoyed going in blind. It’s the kind of story that slithers under your skin and has you muttering “just one more chapter until you realise it’s 2am and you can’t put it down. (Yip that was me)

Addictive, dark, and totally unputdownable. Watch Me Watch You is a twisted, seductive whirlwind from start to finish. I loved every second. 🖤

Thriller of month

Alice and Mina couldn’t be more different. Alice is broke, desperate for work and unable to meet the overheads on her expensive inherited flat. Mina is an editor at a London publishing company. She oozes glamour, wealth and power. But when Mina becomes Alice’s boss, their worlds start to entwine - with shocking consequences.

Lily Samson has done it again here. She’s created such a sizzling and spectacular drama packed full of deceit, desire and deception, with twists and turns galore. You really need to focus on this one as the secrets and lies are continuous; you won’t know who to trust or what to expect. My head was spinning at times.

Alice and Mina both have their flaws but that makes them all the more compelling characters. Watch Me Watch You is a fantastic page turner; original, compelling and delicious!

This is a devious domestic thriller which honestly knocked my socks off.
Initially when I started this book I felt a bit unsure about whether it would be for me. However, it's safe to say I swiftly became absorbed and gobbled it up in two days. If it wasn't for adulting I'd have probably done it in one.

What a fast-paced, drama-fueled story this turned out to be. It's a very sensuous suburban noir. The whole tale becomes a thick web of lies, betrayal, and mischief. It's deep, dark, and brutal. I felt lured into the atmosphere; the title really does this book justice, and you just never know when you're being watched.

This is a highly powerful novel. It made me feel crippled with paranoia and intensely unsettled. Although a little far-fetched, I felt like some events were scarily plausible. It displays and sharply evaluates the power of wealth. It does have a side focus of misogynistic males, adultery, romantic and freindship betrayal, gaslighting, stalking, and abuse.

The story is narrated between Alice and Mina. Alice appears to have it all, but she's in camouflage just hoping the mask doesn't slip. Mina is married to a powerful MP and lives her life of luxury. Alice becomes an intern at Mina's publishing company, and before you know it they plunge into a treacherous cycle of desire, secrets, and lies.

The characters were brilliantly crafted; they were savage and mysterious with as many layers as an onion. I felt mixed emotions with both Alice and Mina; although some actions were horrifying and morally wrong, at times it felt justified. Its mind-bending undertones had significance.

I adored this author's writing style, rhythm, and description technique. It was engaging, easy to follow with a broad comprehension. It's extremely thought-provoking and memorable.

I'd highly recommend this book if you're after a vicious female-driven psychological thriller. It is filled with mystery and hidden jaw-dropping surprises.
This may be triggering for some.

What’s the vibe
- The setup is slick: Alice seems to have the London life sorted with a beautiful flat, but things are fraying. She needs cash, fast. Her boss, Mina (who’s married to an MP, so you already know there’s power, luxury, status in the mix), makes Alice a wild offer — basically to use her flat for a night. What happens after? Oh man. What starts as a favour twists into a whole web of secrets, desire, lies… and danger.
- Samson leans hard into morally grey characters, tension, power dynamics (especially around class + money), and the way one wrong decision can spiral.

What works really well
- Atmosphere & tension. The creep factor is real. Samson builds suspense steadily — each chapter drops little nuggets so you’re always wondering “what’s really going on here?”
- Characters with messy edges. I love that Alice isn’t just a victim or hero; she’s flawed, ambitious, vulnerable. Mina too — luxurious, powerful, but not one-dimensional. Those tensions between them feel electric.
- Pacing & twisty plot. Once you get going, the book drags you in and doesn’t let go. It’s addictive. There are twists that feel earned.

What didn’t land as much
- Sometimes the suspense feels a bit expected — like you see some of the bumps coming, even if the exact turns surprise you. It’s more about how you get there than if you’ll get there.
- A few parts dragged for me — especially in setup. But honestly, Samson redeems it fast once the darker stuff kicks in.

Final take & who it’s for

If you like psychological thrillers with class tension, power games, a dash of sex + danger, and characters who are messy in the best way … this is so your jam. It’s not perfect, but it grips hard.

With her beautiful flat in London, Alice appears to have it all but beneath the surface, everything is unravelling: she needs money, and fast. Her boss Mina, the wife of a powerful MP, lives a life dripping with luxury – one Alice can only dream of - is about to make Alice an offer she can’t refuse. When Alice agrees to loan Mina her flat for the night, she couldn’t possibly imagine what Mina is planning to use it for. When she discovers the shocking truth, what starts as a simple favour spirals into a web of desire, secrets and deadly lies that could destroy them both. Where will it end and who will it survive?

I really enjoyed the author’s first book #TheSwitch so was very excited to get a copy of this latest release and I wasn’t left disappointed.

It’s going to be a slightly difficult one to review in terms of not wanting to give anything away, but this is a slow burn psychological thriller that keeps you reading to know just where this story is going. Told through differing POV’s between the two main characters, Mina and Alice, I can’t say I particularly liked either character but that’s also not the author’s intention, the focus instead on the events happening rather than character connection.

The intrigue definitely keeps you reading, some elements feel a little unbelievable but all do have their place, especially within the final concluding chapters where everything falls into place, and where the pacing also takes it up a notch. Another great read from this author and look forward to what comes next!

“We’re all responsible for our decisions in life.”

Watch Me Watch You follows Alice who, with her beautiful flat in London, appears to have it all. But beneath the surface, everything is unravelling: she needs money, and fast. So when her glamorous, well-connected boss Mina offers her a deal too tempting to resist, Alice agrees to lend her the flat for one night. But Mina has dark intentions, and Alice soon finds herself entangled in a dangerous web of secrets, betrayal, and deadly lies. What began as a favor could end up costing Alice everything…

Watch Me Watch You is a darkly seductive thriller, told over five parts from the alternating perspectives of Mina and Alice. The dual narration is brilliantly unreliable, leaving you constantly questioning who’s telling the truth and who’s playing the game. Their uneasy dynamic is where the book thrives; it’s a clash of power and vulnerability, obsession and control, and desire and vengeance.

The narrative structure of Watch Me Watch You is complex, interlaced with media excerpts, past chapters, and the underlying theme of class throughout. This complexity adds depth to the story, drawing you in with every chapter and making for a captivating and addictive read. An unsettling sense of voyeurism runs throughout, creating a slow-building tension that’s both clever and claustrophobic, leading to a shocking yet satisfying climax as all the puzzle pieces finally fit together.

Thank you so much to Hana, Lily Samson, Century books and Penguin books for sending me this advanced copy to read and review. My opinions are my own.

With a beautiful flat in London, Alice seems to have it all but beneath the surface she is struggling financially. When her boss Mina offers Alice money in return to use her flat for a night, it’s too good an offer to refuse. But soon Alice learns the truth about what she is using it for and secrets and lies begin to spin out of control.

I really enjoyed this author’s debut, The Switch, so was excited to read a new book by her. This was another fun, crazy thriller which gave me a Hitchcock vibe. I was interested in the story straight away and it ended up going in directions I wasn’t foreseeing. I enjoyed discovering all the twists, turns and secrets along the way.

The characters were interesting and had unique voices. I have to admit that at times I found them slightly frustrating, however I was intrigued to see where the author would take them and never knew who to trust. The story flowed quite well, but by the midway point there were quite a few different parts to the story going on, so it became quite complex and meant it needed more concentration to keep everything on track. This is definitely a solid thriller overall and perfect for those looking for a dark, unique read with a racy edge. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this copy in return for an honest review.

Domestic noir meets psychological thriller in this unexpectedly risqué novel. Told from dual perspectives, those of Alice and Mina. Alice was the sole beneficiary of a £2m apartment in London where she now lives, but she is struggling financially. Mina is a publishing director married to an MP and has an opulent lifestyle. The book opens 5 months earlier, with a woman seeing her neighbour arguing with someone, then a gunshot, but who shot who?

Briefly, Alice obtains an internship role in Mina’s company and they form an unlikely friendship. When Mina offers to pay Alice £1000 for a single night use of her apartment Alice jumps at the offer. But there are things about the apartment no one knows and this arrangement sets in motion a series of shocking events!

This was a compelling read, with two interesting main characters, Alice had my sympathy for much of the book although she is rather naive and does make some ill advised decisions, Mina is a different matter, I didn’t like her, or the way she treated Alice and wanted the worm to turn. The story was good, somewhat more spicy than I would normally read, but the thriller element was good and suspense levels high. An entertaining read.

What a brilliant, brilliant story!! This is a psychological thriller that is just a touch more risqué than most - it is utterly compelling and ridiculously hard to put down!

The story comes with its fair share of plot twists as it tells the tale of Alice, a 20something woman who has known hardship - amazingly despite living hand to mouth, she was the sole beneficiary of a 2 million pound apartment in an affluent London residence. Alice obtains a voluntary role in a publishing agency, and is instantly drawn to her boss, the beautiful and enigmatic Mina. An unlikely friendship develops between the 2 alongside the somewhat unusual arrangement whereby Mina pays for use of Alice’s apartment for her own covert uses. Unbeknownst to Mina, the flat comes with 1 or 2 secrets of its own! Thrown into the mix Alice’s stalker, on-off boyfriend and Mina’s politician of a husband and a great story unfolds!

I won’t say more for fear of providing plot spoilers- it is a book that needs to be read and can’t be recommended highly enough!

My thanks to NetGalley, author and publisher for the opportunity to review this book in exchange for an advance copy.

Thank you to Netgalley Penguin publishers and Lily Samson for the opportunity once again to read her second book. I was hoping it was going to be as good as The Switch and by golly it was! Alice had managed to fall into an editor's job, almost like an apprentice job if you like, for head honcho Mina at a Publishing firm. Alice didn't have money but she owned a very expensive apartment. How did that happen? She never had any money from one week to the next. However when Mina began hiring her apartment from her from time to time that helped Alice, but what did she need it for? Alice had a dark past and both their lives were troubled really. It's unfair of me to continue to spoil this story as it was a page turner,l and I read it in one sitting. It was steamy and hot as Mina's marriage wasn't quite as she portrayed it to be and and It was dark with many secrets that soon got out of control. A 5* read! I loved it! A dark sexy sensational thriller!

Alice lives in a beautiful apartment in an exclusive area of London. With her loving boyfriend Sean she appears to have it all. But life has been far from easy for Alice, she really has struggled. Plus she's being stalked by Dominic, who believes her apartment is rightfully his. Dominic watches her every movement day and night, but why?

When Alice lands herself an internship at the prestigious Principle Publishing she has high hopes. She's ambitious, all she needs is a chance...

Mina is the star editor at Principle Publishing and Alice's boss. Married to MP Romain, the couple are wealthy and successful.

Alice is determined to please Mina, make herself noticed and at any cost.

But both Alice and Mina are hiding secrets which can destroy them...

Watch me watch you is an exciting and fast paced thriller with lots of twists and turns. I did enjoy it but not quite as much as the authors first novel The Switch.

Alice has a beautiful flat in one of the most prestigious parts of London, and is intern to Mina; the wife of a high powered MP. Alice appears to have it all, but appearances can be deceiving. When Mina offers to rent her flat for an evening, Alice simply cant refuse. But what does Mina plan to use the flat for?

‘Watch Me Watch You’ oozes scandalous secrets, manipulation and thrilling twists. Told from two POVs, Mina and Alice, the uncertainty of one of them being an unreliable narrator was enthralling. The theme of Class Difference throughout was interesting, adding another dimension to the story.

This book was like trying to put pieces of a puzzle together but some don’t fit, and pieces are missing. It left me feeling perplexed throughout as I tried to build the plot together in my mind to figure out was going on. A fantastic, seductive thriller that will leave your mind reeling!

A fun read.
Alice’s life in London seems picture-perfect—until you scratch the surface. Struggling financially, she envies her wealthy boss, Mina, who is married to a high-profile MP and enjoys a life of luxury. When Mina makes Alice a tempting offer—loan her flat for just one night—it seems like easy money. But Alice has no idea what she’s agreeing to. Soon, Alice is entangled in a dangerous game of secrets, manipulation, and deceit. As the truth about Mina’s intentions unravels, Alice realizes she’s in way over her head. The question is: How far will she go to protect herself? And will she survive the fallout?
Overall, Watch Me Watch You is a gripping, fast-paced read that keeps you hooked from start to finish. It’s a story of power, manipulation, and the deadly cost of secrets.

A fun, twisty thriller that kept me hanging on until the closing chapters! I found it hard to put this book down and found myself reaching for it at every spare moment. The short, sharp chapters were an added bonus.

Told through dual POV, with an opener that made me instantly want to find out what had happened. I found the dual POV brilliant. It provided the perfect opportunity to get to know both Alice and Mina, even if I did constantly flit between which one I could trust!

I feel like there's so much packed into this story, but they way it was written meant it never felt too busy or confusing, and i loved every curve ball that it threw as these really did keep me wondering how it would all conclude!

Thriller fans, this is definitely on my recommended list! 👌

Watch Me Watch You is a taut and addictive psychological thriller. I've been looking forward to it since I read Lily Samson's debut, The Switch, and I enjoyed this one just as much.

Alice lives in a spacious flat in Kensington yet has just started a position as an intern at a publishing company. From the beginning there's a disconnect between what Alice has and who Alice is but it all becomes clear as the story progresses. She agrees to let her boss, Mina, who is married to a powerful MP, use the flat for what turns out to be a rather dubious and unexpected reason and the tale then spirals into a tangled web of deceit that thrilled me.

I loved the voyeuristic style of this book, the dark and sexy aspects of it. I also enjoyed the publishing angle. The story is told from the points of view of both Alice and Mina and I didn't know if I could trust what either of them were saying. It was clear that there were some murky corners in their pasts and as narrators they were totally and excitingly unreliable.

I found Watch Me Watch You absolutely compulsive reading. As with The Switch, in the wrong hands some of the action could have simply been too far-fetched, but in Samson's hands it just felt plausible and ominously exhilarating. If you like a twisty story filled with power and seduction, with characters who are morally grey, then this is one for you. I loved it.

I’ve been really excited for Lily Samson’s second book since I read The Switch earlier in the year and she did not disappoint!!
Watch Me Watch you is told from dual POV, Alice - the eager to please intern, and Mina - the glamorous boss with the perfect life and marriage but both of them harbour dark and dangerous secrets in their past. As a simple favour from one to the other turns into a messy web of even more secrets and lies, their lives intertwine in a way neither could have imagined.
This book was so good, I could not guess how it was going to end, who was lying, who was working for whom the entire way through. And I love when that happens. SO much drama, lies being discovered and a LOT of watching and stalking 👀 amazing thriller!

This was my favourite July read. I love books with unreliable narrators and queationable motives. This one had me hooked from the first page.

Alice has inherited a beautiful flat in London after an old lady dies. She desperately needs a job however so can't believe her luck when she gets offered a chance to be an intern in a top publishing company for Mina. Mina is successful and lives a life of luxury, married to a powerful MP.
Why does Mina want to borrow Alice's flat for the night?
I loved the friendship that develops between the two central characters. What secrets are they both hiding and how far will they go to protect them?
If you love psychological thrillers i highly recommend this one! I'm looking forward to reading this author's debut 'The Switch' which is on my tbr pile.

When I first started this I didn’t really know where it was going (as I’d forgotten what it was about and didn’t want to read the blurb again) but I was instantly intrigued.
I loved how we are given tantalising bits of information during and at the end of (nearly) each chapter, completely captivating you and drawing you into the usual dynamic between the 2 main characters.

However, as it progressed I started to get annoyed by both Alice & Mina (more so Mina). Especially how Mina acted when she was “wronged” as if she’s a victim and never done anything wrong ever.

I also felt it was a bit of a slog to get through. And that some of the side characters were pointless.

The ending also disappointed me. Can’t say too much without spoiling it but I just wanted more.

I read this author’s debut (The Switch) last year, so I was curious as to what book two would hold.

This thriller follows the lives of two women, Alice & Mina. On first meeting them, they appear to come from very different backgrounds, but as the plot unfolds that fact matters little. They both have secrets in their past, which if revealed would seriously affect their futures. Alice is an intern at Principle Publishing with star editor Mina, as her boss - a cyclical, sometimes fraught, relationship ensues.

The plot unfolds over a few months which makes it a taut read with a couple of twists to uphold the suspense.

The story with two different characters - first, we have Alice Smart, who's broke and has a long term boyfriend, Sean, and she lives in a flat in an affluent area. Then we have Mina Harpenden, works for a publishing firm, and married to a MP, Romain. Alice and Mina meet at the publishing house, where Alice will intern with the hope of gaining a job at the end of the time period. What happens next is Mina takes advantage of Alice's nature and then follows on a course of destruction that leads them both to an unexpected conclusion. It was full of deception, lies, secrets and twists and turns aplenty and they were both flawed characters.

While her life seems perfect on the surface, Alice is struggling privately - not least, financially. So when she is made an offer she can't refuse by a politician's wife, Mina's charisma convinces Alice that she has found an easy way out of her troubles.

But that turns out to be far from the truth. And the shocking events of one night are about to change Alice's life forever...

This is an easy read, and an interesting story. Worth checking out if you like twisty thrillers, it gets 3.5 stars.

This was such a good read it drew me in from the first page! Told from the perspectives of both the main characters Alice and Mina.

Alice starts a new job and becomes friendly with her boss, Mina who asks to borrow her flat for the night for a fee! But what does she want the flat for? I liked Alice, although I was sometimes questioning her decisions!

So many twist and turns along the way, I thought I knew where things were headed then something else would happen. This one certainly kept me invested throughout.

Thank you to the publisher for sending me a copy.

Ooh this had me Shooketh!! This book is it, definitely one to keep you turning the page, I binged this in one sitting.

If you like your narrators unreliable? then you have a book full of them! Like dark secrets and dark pasts? You got them! Twist and turns for days?! Yep, you guessed it, this has them!

There’s even a bit of smut if that floats your boat, but not to much to take away from the psychological thriller elements of the book.

This is an absolute must, I don’t want to risk spoilers, just add this to your TBR and make sure you have time to read it in one sitting.

Watch Me Watch You is told over five parts, from the dual POV of Alice and Mina, both being incredibly unreliable narrators leaving you with a sense of suspicion about what’s to come. Throughout there are also, whatsapp messages, diary extracts, and flashbacks to the past.
Alice’s voyuerism adds another layer to the story and the depth of both characters adds to the complex narrative, this story is one of wealth and deceit. A gripping page turner that will have you reading late into the night. I can’t wait for what Lily comes up with next.

I really enjoyed this book! Sexy, exciting and a lot of suspense!
Wasn’t really sure where it was heading and some very unexpected turn of events along the way!
Loved the ending (although weird) lol
I wasn’t sure if I liked or disliked Alice or Mina during the whole book as I wasn’t sure who was keeping secrets and who was telling the truth!

I enjoyed the short chapters with dual POV, which meant I often couldn’t put the book down and found myself reaching out for it. I did enjoy the twists and turns along the way, but felt the ending was slightly rushed. There was a few loose ends which I would like further information on, but overall felt it was a good read. My first Lily Samson read and I would consider reading more of her work.
