Just finished reading this excellent book by Lieutenant Colonel Robert L. Maginnis and have to say it is a very timely book, as it seems all the headline news of the day ask the question, "Are we heading into World War III?"
In the book, LTC Maginnis documents how the American-led post-World War II order is today being challenged by anti-Western powers that seek a new international order. He speculates as to what kind of events might start World War III and how the war might play out, and he provides many practical tips regarding how to prepare yourself and your loved ones for surviving the devastation of war (such as what supplies you might want to keep stocked, what skills you might want to develop, and what questions you should consider in the event you decide to relocate). Chapter 13 is my favorite: advice for followers of Jesus regarding how to prepare for serving the Lord in the midst of war and persecution.
All of the information the author provides is well referenced with 742 endnotes to identify his sources.
The book has made me think very deeply about the possibility of a world war erupting soon, and I highly recommend it to readers who are wondering if we will soon see the world fall into a terrible chaos and how they might prepare for survival.

There are many books out about the potential of World War III, but it’s unlikely that any will be on par with Col. Maginnis’ book.
The book is more like 6 books in 1, divided into sections with individual chapters. and takes you through every important aspect of war.
It reads like you're a fly on the wall in a highly classified military meeting, written in easy to understand, plain language without any fluff.
Col. Maginnis explains why wars start and what the likelihood is (from his expert view) of war happening in the very near future.
He reveals historical truths about past wars and how today’s situations compare. And he divulges the weapons of our modern warfare that will make it very different from the past (and most US citizens are unaware of their existence).
The final sections cover preparations for both the individual, as well as communities. The author takes you through steps on how to safeguard your family and neighbors in the event of WWIII.
And finally it finishes with a Biblical look at how a Christian can respond and serve as well as where a possible war lies on the prophetic timeline.

Preparing for World War III

McGinnis’ military background is obvious by his detailed explanations of the warfare capabilities of various countries with particular focus on the USA and China. The best parts of the book, in my opinion, are the last few chapters where the author gives the practical steps you can take to prepare for war and the spiritual implications of warfare and preparing for the final wars spoken of in the last days. McGinnis is careful about not speculating about nearness of the final days and even doubts that the next World War will be the last war. Whatever your beliefs on that matter you will find his perspective interesting.
