“Some conversations change you forever.”
When photographer Alex Parker loses his childhood best friend, the guilt consumes him. Years later, he finds himself standing on a bridge, wrestling with the memories that brought him there — a mother’s cruelty, a father’s silence, and the one person who saved him when he couldn’t save himself.

As Alex’s daughter, Nora, grows up, she faces her own crossroads of love, loss, and letting go — proving that even the most broken hearts can still find the strength to heal.

Conversations on the Edge is an emotionally charged novel about grief, redemption, and the fragile beauty of second chances. For readers who love The Fault in Our Stars, Tuesdays with Morrie, or It Ends with Us, this story will stay with you long after the last page — reminding you that sometimes, the hardest conversations are the ones that save us.

Powerful, Honest, and Unforgettable

Conversation on the Edge is a raw and emotionally honest story that dives deep into addiction, healing, and the complexity of human connection. Devin McMillan writes with a rare vulnerability and clarity that makes every page feel personal and urgent.

The journey of Alex is heartbreaking yet hopeful—a man grappling with his past, searching for redemption, and trying to reconnect with the people who matter most. The emotional weight of his relationship with his daughter is especially moving, and McMillan handles these moments with tenderness and authenticity.

This isn’t just a story about recovery—it’s a story about survival, reflection, and the fragile beauty of second chances. The writing is sharp, poetic, and unflinchingly real.

I couldn’t put it down. Highly recommended for readers who appreciate character-driven narratives with heart, depth, and truth.

I am really impressed with how raw this is. There’s so much to take in. I felt like I was sitting on the bridge next to the author and really just listening.
