Originally from Benton Harbor, Michigan, Brooks has lived in the Tampa Bay area for almost 30 years. He is a published writer with numerous internet columns and magazine articles, and is currently a staff writer for RawCharge.com, a web site dedicated to coverage of the NHL’s Tampa Bay Lightning. He helped write and produce “Ten at the Top in Tampa Bay”, a documentary highlighting women in government leadership. Brooks has also done professional announcing and acting and worked in the sports and entertainment industry.
His first book, "A Ridiculously Inconsistent Treasury" is a best-of collection from his award-winning blog, "Ridiculously inconsistent trickle of consciousness" was published in May of 2013.

Funny, engaging, relatable, and I have it on good authority the author is a pretty nice guy (in the best way, not a wise guy. Though he is wise. And a guy.)
