4 ⭐️Read!! My honest ARC review

The Lost Pack is filled with events and emotions it’s fast-paced there’s a strong MFC who goes through a lot in this journey.

It’s a slow burn with enemies to lovers it takes time for the spice to come in once it does it makes up for it. The only thing that felt odd to me was one of the words they used for intimacy. I would type it but I’m not sure if it’s allowed on here but it looks something like this ( the $e3 ) other than this I liked the story and the way it’s told. The characters are well written I felt like their personalities came through very clearly in showing what they want and where it’s going

I felt for the MFC it feels like she’s stuck but once the story unfolds you start to see her grow and gets stronger such as knowing her worth and starting to find her way. I love me shifters in my books so when I saw this I knew I had to read it.

I give a special thank you to NetGalley and Sophie Davis for allowing me to be one of the ARC readers for this book I appreciate it so much.

As a huge fan of shifter books (thanks, Twilight!), I was eager to dive into this book by Sophie Davies', and I wasn't disappointed; this book delivered on so many levels.

This book honestly had me hooked, from friends to enemies to lovers, betrayal, slow-burn romance, and the twists and turns. Not to mention, the dreams sprinkled throughout added an intriguing layer of mystery, and the little twists thrown in kept me guessing. It was great!!

Drake, the female protagonist, is a force to be reckoned with, with her strength and resilience being immediately relatable and admirable. She's not just strong; she's determined, and her character development throughout the book is fantastic. Watching her navigate the treacherous world of pack politics and personal vendettas had me gripped.
The friendship she had with Evera adds so much depth to her character and highlights the importance of good friendship.
The relationship between Drake and Penn was perfect. The chemistry between them sizzles, making their slow-burn romance utterly captivating. While a slow burn isn’t my usual go-to (because I’m impatient), the payoff is definitely worth it. The tension and anticipation just build so beautifully that when they do come together, it’s soooo satisfying.

If there's one thing that I could add to this book to give a five-star rating, it would have been more world-building and deeper exploration surrounding the pack and its history.

The Lost Pack is overall a perfect blend of urban fantasy, romance, and political intrigue, with a strong FMC. If you're a fan of shifter books, I highly recommend giving this one a try.

OMG, this book was fantastic. Drake's father is the alpha, then he is slain, and a vicious alpha takes over the pack. His brother is Penn, and he becomes the person who is keeping Drake safe. And from there you have an amazing story.

Thank you to NetGalley and Sophie Davis for the ARC! I am leaving this review voluntarily.

What to expect:
- Shifters
- Enemies to lovers
- Slow-burn
- Betrayal
- “Touch her an you die, literally” mmc
- Spice 1.5/5 🌶️
- Prophecy

What I liked:
Omg this book was truly amazing! From the angst to the plot, all of it was chefs kiss! The relationship was stunning, I LOVED Penn. He’s so broody but clearly cares deeply about our fmc, Drake. I didn’t find this book predictable, it was unique and interesting in a way I’ve been craving.

Drake was a great fmc! She was so strong and badass that I immediately fell in love with her. I appreciated her resilience and restraint throughout the book and found myself disappointed when I finished.

The plot is perfectly paced, I never felt bored reading or like things were being rushed. I found the reveals surprising and interesting. The dreams were a confusing at first but make sense in the end, something I love in a book.

I know this sounds weird but I also liked how much I hated the characters, namely Finneus, in the book. I felt such deep hatred, I mean we’re talking I want your head on a pike outside my window so I can see it every morning and smile, kind of hatred. He was so evil and despicable and it made me feel like I was right there along with Drake.

Finally the star of the show, Evera! God I really love when the fmc has an unwavering friend, who will go through thick and thin for her! And Evera very much does do that, she remained by Drake’s side all throughout the book. And provided some amazing commentary, I swear she had me laughing out loud!

What I didn’t like:
To be honest, there want much I found myself disliking with this book. My only complaint is with some tiny details I would have enjoyed. For instance, what happened with the Zodiac Wolves? They were mentioned briefly in a dream and got minimal explanation after. I could have done with more world building too and explanations of other supernaturals in the world.

All in all this book was great and I highly recommend it!

The Lost Pack delivers a gripping blend of betrayal, prophecy, and slow-burn romance set in a vividly imagined shifter world. Drake Aspen's journey from captive to potential savior is compelling and emotionally charged. The enemies-to-lovers tension with Penn adds depth, and the stakes feel real throughout.

That said, while I appreciated the overall story and the character development, I didn’t completely fall in love with it. One element that held me back was the use of flashbacks/dreams they’re not my favorite narrative device, and at times they pulled me out of the momentum of the main plot. Still, the pacing and world-building kept me engaged, and I can see why fans of romantasy and shifter lore would be drawn to this standalone.

I received this arc from Net Galley and Sophie Davis. I love a good fantasy with a strong-minded FMC, and this book definitely meets those standards. Drake Aspen is the Alpha’s daughter in the Ophiuchus Wolf Pack. Within this particular wolf pack, there is a prophecy involving one night where two comets will pass over their home in Snake Mountain. The passing of the comets is meant to be a sign of coming peace to the mountain, but instead after they pass, chaos ensues. In one night, Drake loses everything, including her freedom. The new Beta of the pack, Penn, is now charged with keeping her under guard in her home, where she is kept to be used as a pawn by the new Alpha. Drake soon comes to learn the truth behind the ancient prophecy of the two comets and has to decide what she wants to do with that information- fight against the new Alpha or leave and lose her pack. This is a enemies-to-lovers with a bit of a slow burn, but I really enjoyed the chemistry between these two characters. I also really liked the character growth that Drake undergoes in this book. If you enjoy fantasy, prophecies, shifters, a slow burn enemies-to-lovers romance, and magic then you will enjoy this book when it comes out on December 3rd.

Strap in, because this 5-star adventure will have your heart racing and your emotions all over the place! Imagine the drama of a once-powerful wolf pack torn apart, a fierce Alpha's daughter—Drake Aspen—fueled by nothing but sheer vengeance and a burning desire to reclaim what was stolen. She's been betrayed, imprisoned, and reduced to a mere pawn in a brutal game, but Drake isn’t about to roll over and accept defeat. Oh no, she’s ready to fight tooth and claw.

Enter Penn Williams, the brooding Beta assigned to guard her every move, and let's just say sparks don’t just fly between them—they explode. There’s a dangerous push and pull between them that’ll have you screaming, "Will they or won’t they?!" Spoiler: you’ll be dying for them to.

With deadly secrets, ancient prophecies, and enough tension to snap a bowstring, Drake has no choice but to navigate a treacherous path of rebellion. The stakes are high—her pack’s survival, her freedom, and maybe even her heart. But in a world where betrayal lurks around every corner, who can she really trust?

Expect fierce battles, jaw-dropping twists, and moments so intense you’ll need to pause just to catch your breath. This book isn’t just a read—it’s a full-blown experience. If you're into enemies-to-lovers vibes, high-stakes rebellion, and

What I Liked

Hello??? BETA WILLLIAMS??? He is everything in this book!
Sure, Drake our FMC is a strong headed character, but I wouldn't take someone else for Penn any other way.
And, our show stealer, Evera freaking Williams, she had me cracked up so many times, and i really adored her character. Her friendship with Drake was so wholesome.
My Alpha

Though the world building was a bit slow, but it was worth it with all the 'dreamy' riddles.

Overall, an amazing 5 star read, definitely one of my favourite of 2024.

A solid 3.75 ⭐️

✨Wolf Shifters
✨Alphas Daughter
✨Urban Fantasy
✨Re-incarnating soulmates
✨Betrayal

It took me a little bit to get into this which is why my rating isn’t higher, once I got to the moment where I was hooked it was great. I was wishing it was a tad bit spicier, at least for my taste. If this was YA I would completely understand if it didn’t have any spice, it was probably my own expectations thinking there would be more.

The world building was absolutely fantastic and very descriptive. I loved the relationship between Drake and the beta Penn. This is absolutely a slow burn.

The Lost Pack had an amazing strong FMC. I loved the shifter and vampire aspects of this book, as well as the magic and element of mystery. If you’re looking for a slow burn shifter romance with a lot of political intrigue this is definitely for you!

This is one of the best wolf shifter books I’ve read for YEARS.
I loved the fated mates aspect, that love is transcendent through time.

Drake was the perfect blend of “princess” and warrior, she’d had an easy life until the unexpected death of her father, she doesn’t have the best experience but the end is incredible.

I loved how there’s clearly space for follow on books, but it ends neatly enough that it could be standalone.

Penn was the perfect beta, to his TRUE alpha. The way he supported Drake like a quiet undercurrent that is always there, championing her from the wings, patiently loving her while she faced challenging situations.

I’m eager to see another book and revisit the pack

I was given an arc copy through netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Great shifter story overall.

I liked that the FMC actually took a moment to think before her next moves. She made mistakes, but recognized them and adapted. It made her a relatable character.

The MMC also has great growth in this story. As his true character unravels he just gets better and better.

The pacing is steady throughout and the ending isn't so much of a cliffhanger that you feel you're missing out. It still leaves that opening for wanting more.

I’m so thankful I was able to read this as an ARC. It was such a fun read and I loved the way the story developed. It took me a while to get involved but I am so happy that I did because the world and the way Sophie weaves her tale and builds her world was so much fun.

What can I say I love a slow burn, enemies to lovers.

Great story, and very well-written! The plot sees Drake discover who she really is and her own strength. There's a lot of pain and hurt along the way, but she pushes through and in the end it's worth it. Penn starts off "grumpy" but quickly you see him open up and soften. The story line was very interesting and kept me flipping pages!

Huge Sophie Davis fan here! I have read everything I can get my hands on, though this is my first review. Thank you for the ARC!
I loved this story! For those of you who have read her other stories, this FMC is different from others in that she is very interested in fashion. Honestly, the first dress in the story is gorgeous. Taylor Swift should be wearing it for Reputation TV release(the snakes are perfect). The story kept me reading until the early hours of the morning. I devoured this book as quickly as I could.
However, having read other stories from this world, I know more about it than someone who is starting with this book. With it being a stand alone novel, it could have used more details on the eternals. I would have also liked this book to end where Drake appears in Zara's story.
Overall it is a great book and I plan on buying it once it is released.

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this book and it did not disappoint!!
The story had me hooked right at the first chapter, I didn’t want to put it down! The character interactions were fun, the tension was INSANE right off the bat.
I went into this reading only one other book from this author duo and it seems their writing just seems to get better!
I highly recommend this if you love some fated mate shifters and wild, unpredictable, incredible storytelling!!

I received this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. There were things I liked about this book, things that I didn't and at times I felt a little confused.

It was well written and it flowed well. The premise was intriguing and the blurb really brought me in. The side characters were loveable and the villain was a little but psycho (I do love a good villain)
I wanted to be sucked into this book but unfortunately it just didn't happen.
Drake is the daughter of the alpha and her life is perfect. She has everything she wants and is content to spend her days being doted on by her father. But then he is killed and by the man he had taken in as a child. Drake knows Finn well, had basically grown up with him, then he betrayed her.
This was written well. Drake's inner monologue showed that she was spoiled and doted upon. Her shock at the betrayal was genuine and her grief was described in a believable way.
Enter Penn. He is a quiet kind of shifter, I'm assuming that he should've been the quiet, dangerous and brooding type but at the beginning he just came across as trying to get through the day guarding Drake,
Eleva is Drake's best friend and one of the few sources of amusement in the book (yes, I'm also including the widows in the entertainment arena). She is loyal, kind and is a great sidekick, however I feel as though her character was underutilised.
Finn. Oh my, isn't he a bad guy? Not only did he kill her father, but continues on with his little killing spree under the assumption that the prophecy talks about him. Silly boy. He has fallen in with a caster and the pack basically goes to hell in a hand basket. He has a bit of depth to him but most of the time he's just in the background giving orders or starring in his own drama in front of the whole pack.
Now, I have a few pet hates and this book niggled me with some of them. The white wolf. The white wolf has to save the world. The prophecy that is only half baked/mostly forgotten. And dragging out the secrets and not answering questions.
I did not understand the world. I spent half the time confused. Did the wolves and other supernaturals live adjacent to humans? What time period was this? There was mention of dorian grey, phones, herbs and small town markets. I just didn't get it, maybe I missed something because I don't recall anything explaining that the humans were modern day, although I suppose it could've implied it with how far back the memories go.
Talking of memories... They started out of nowhere and explained nothing for so long. It was beyond frustrating. I felt as though I was reading From Blood and Ash all over again (Loved it but the dragging out of Poppy being in the dark was just painful, I'm talking the whole series, not just that one book). AND SHE DIDN'T REALLY TELL ANYONE ABOUT THEM FOR AGES! things would have been explained so much quicker if she had of just talked to someone. It was just all so slow.
Drake was not badass, not in the slightest. Penn saved her almost every single time. She was defiant and while that was mostly in her head, I liked it. I didn't think that she had done anything overly stupid and didn't feel like she spent all of the book whining in her own head.
Drake and Penn's relationship was almost like a slow burn, although when she first touched him in the book, her body reacted (how to highlight who the love interest is without a huge neon, flashing sign stating it) but it gets a little complicated when her daddy died, killed by Penn's brother. Penn's quiet determination pays off and they become friendly again, romance blossoming from there. There is a little bit of spice, graphic mention of it but only a few instances.
I loved that once they 'broke the seal', that they didn't start going at it every five minutes, at inappropriate times and places, sending the plot into the background and overtaking everything. It was written well and tastefully, adding to the story, not taking away from it.
The twists at the end were nice touches and how it ended was satisfying. There's room for a sequel or two.

Disclaimer: I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

A little summary about this book without spoilers.

So this book is about Drake, the daughter of the alpha from Ophiucus pack. Everything in her life was good until her father was killed by a traitor in their pack. And her life has flipped upside down since then.

First thoughts on this book, what is going on?

I’m not sure which part of this whole book got me confused but the blurb felt like it oversold the whole story. I expected a lot from this book because I truly thought the blurb was interesting.

This one fell short and bored me a bit. I think having a wolf genre in a story is a hit-or-miss. Unfortunately for me it’s a miss.

Where do I even start though?

I guess let’s start with the characters, our female main character, Drake Aspen.

Let’s get straight to the point, Drake has no depth and character development. If there were, I did not feel her development all throughout the book.

She’s dumb and boring and weak.
I gave consideration that her father just died so maybe that’s why she was having dumb decisions and weak moments. But damn!

Up till the last chapters of the book, she’s still having dumb decisions. There was a part there where she practically offered herself to a trap. How did she not realize that it was what the villain wants her to do proves my point that she lacks critical thinking skills.

Not to mention, it’s so annoying that she can’t handle herself. I don’t know, maybe I’ve outgrown the damsel-in-distress-and-always-needs-help trope so Drake annoys me when she can’t handle herself.

She says she can handle herself but can’t live without Penn’s protection. Maybe I just expected so much from her since she’s the alpha’s daughter.

It’s safe to say Drake ain’t my favorite FMC. I’m not even sure I like her.

Let’s move to Penn Williams, the MMC.

I agree with Evera, Drake’s bestfriend, Penn has no personality. He’s boring and flat. Aside from being Drake’s knight in shining fur, there’s nothing about him.

Aside from being a brooding beta of the pack, he’s got nothing. Not funny. Not mean. Just plain protector of Drake and apparently her mate –shocker.

He’s a boring MMC. Nothing to even let me swoon at him.

The chemistry between Drake and Penn was also next to nonexistent. Honestly, the forced proximity trope was actually forced.

On the other hand, the way the story was narrated was actually good. It was good to get back to reading. It was light and easy to understand. It was one of the few reasons I managed to finish the whole book.

The story itself though, it is not gripping enough to keep me reading. It’s borderline boring. Whenever I read, I get easily distracted and then do other things. The story doesn’t help me focus or doesn’t drive me enough to finish the story.

The plot only pick up on around 80% if I’m being honest. When the dreams were finally getting explained, I finally got something to finish it. But then the plot twist was underwhelming, almost as if it’s not surprising.

The ending was also rushed. The climax of the whole story and the ending all happened in a chapter or two. That’s it. It was like, plot twist resolved there done in a snap.

To wrap this up, this book is really a miss for me. The only thing I enjoyed was the way of the narration. Other than that, the story, the characters, all the things that happened, it was all flop. It was almost boring.

The blurb is overselling the whole book. It’s underwhelming.

I received an ARC copy through BookFunnel of this book for a honest review.

Sophie Davis is a talented writer. Love reading her books. Huge fan of her Talented Series.

I felt lost for a bit in The Lost Pack. The story just dives right into the scenario at the start of Drake having to step into her role, and being too scared ro do it. Okay she is the daughter of the alpha, spoiled - but taught to fight - and can't - until all of a sudden she can and more without additional training. And her first fight is a doozy. I love some David and Goliath, but David did know how to use his sling to fight animals and did so. Drake didn't, but...hey she believed in herself.

There are all these comments and mentions in the book that I felt I should know and understand as the reader - the prophesy, the history, white wolf, and etc - from the get go. Looking back through the books Sophie has written, I did figure out that she has a whole series about the Eternals. Not that I have read this series (maybe I should look into it.) Having not read the other series, it MAY be possible that I would have a better idea of what is happening and a better understanding of the characters. But starting with this book, I just felt out of the loop. As a new reader into this world, I needed more world building and character building in the beginning. I feel that some of the things that came out later could have been in the book earlier. Or a prologue with a bit of history. I felt that I just stepped into a first book, but found out that it was really like the 5th or 6th...even though it is not.

As for the supporting characters Penn, Finn, Evera. Evera, the best friend, is personally my favorite. She is just so consistent. I love the broody, quiet Penn - protector of Drake - right up until the end of the book. It was sort of like when Drake had the mysterious bought of courage, she plucked it right of Penn, and he was left needing a protector. I know that did not happen, but really it was like roles switched or something - nothing magical just the writer's pen.

All and all I think the book was good. I would be willing to read additional ones as they come out. We all know that they will. I want to know what happens with a couple of the stray ends as well as what happens with a certain vampire statement. I do hope that Drake stays smarter and does not revert to her beginning book self though, and would love to see more growth from Penn and Evera.

Since I do not know if it will help or not at this point. You may/may not want to get a feel for the Eternals by checking out her Eternals Series. This being the Lost Pack - I am not sure that it will 100% help - but having a broader idea of the world may help you feel less lost when you open the cover??

Sophie Davis’ The Lost Pack takes readers on a journey through a world of wolf shifters, prophecies, and relentless power struggles. The story centers around Drake Aspen, the strong (if not pampered) daughter of an Alpha, who finds her life turned upside down in the course of one night of utter disloyalty. This premise sets the stage for a gripping narrative filled with action, betrayal, and a hint of romance. Her journey is not just about survival but also about reclaiming her identity and her pack. Readers will appreciate her resilience and the way she navigates her new, treacherous reality under the tyrannical rule of Finneus, a villain so despicable that he elicits a visceral hatred—an indication of Davis’ skill in crafting antagonists that evoke strong emotions.

Drake is a standout protagonist; her strength and determination make her immediately relatable and admirable. Readers will appreciate her unwavering resolve as she navigates the duplicitous landscape of pack politics and personal vendettas. Her fierce friendship with Evera, who embodies loyalty and strength throughout their trials, adds depth to her character. Evera’s steadfast support for Drake highlights the importance of friendship in the face of adversity.

One of the most compelling aspects of the book is the relationship between Drake and the Beta, Penn. While some readers may find the romantic development slow, the chemistry between them sizzles, making for a captivating low spice slow burn that doesn’t disappoint.

The writing is easy to understand without a lot of complexity and keeps you motivated to continue. My one critique would be the lack of world building or deeper details of some the elements of the story. Particularly the early dream sequences felt disjointed.

In conclusion, The Lost Pack is a well-paced tale perfect for fans of strong female leads and intricate plots. With its blend of fantasy tropes such as such as fated mates, forced proximity, slow burn with just a touch of spice, this novel is sure to be perfect for fantasy readers. Sophie Davis has crafted a world that, despite minor shortcomings, promises to keep readers invested from start to finish

Would recommend.

From the very first chapter, I was hooked! This book was so captivating that I devoured it in one sitting—and then went back for a second read to savor all the details I might have missed. It’s an exceptional blend of tragedy, friends-to-enemies-to-lovers romance, werewolf lore and prophecy, and the gripping dynamics of betrayal, manipulation, and power struggles. The writing is sharp, the characters are deeply layered and compelling, and the plot kept me on edge from start to finish.

The story centers on Drake Aspen, a bold yet somewhat sheltered werewolf raised as the daughter of her pack’s alpha. Her world is upended when a shocking betrayal leads to her father’s death, and she’s thrust into life under the oppressive rule of a new, power-hungry alpha. Faced with shifting loyalties and simmering tensions, Drake must rise to the challenge, testing her strength, intelligence, and even her heart as she fights to protect her pack and reclaim her father’s legacy.

Adding to the tension is her brooding protector who seems to have her back—but can she trust him? Does he genuinely care for her, or is his loyalty another dangerous deception? You will have to find out by reading this book!!

You should be aware that this book prioritizes story over spice, but there are definitely a few steamy moments that add to the intrigue. The spice level lands at a solid 3 out of 5, complementing the plot without overshadowing it. What stands out most is how this book excels on every front: a well-crafted plot, excellent writing, captivating character development, and immersive world-building, all delivered seamlessly in one gripping package. It’s easily one of my favorite reads of 2024!

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Spice Level: 🌶️🌶️🌶️

Recommendation: A must-read for fans of strong female protagonists, werewolf fiction, and a well-executed friends-to-enemies-to-lovers arc. If you enjoy political intrigue, complex relationships rooted in betrayal and romance, and an intricately crafted fantasy world with a rich backstory, this book is sure to delight.

Note: I received this book as an e-ARC from NetGalley and would like to thank both NetGalley and Sophie Davis for the opportunity to review this phenomenal work.

The Lost Pack by Sophie Davis is an engaging and fast-paced paranormal romance that expertly blends elements of suspense, heartache, and sizzling chemistry. Set in a world where shifters and humans live in a delicate balance, the story follows a rejected wolf shifter, whose world is turned upside down when a second-chance mate is unexpectedly thrust into her life.
The heroine, strong and fiercely independent, faces a tumultuous journey as she grapples with the pain of being rejected by her first mate, only to find herself drawn to someone she never expected. Davis does an excellent job of making readers feel the emotional tension between the characters, particularly in the way the heroine struggles with trust, rejection, and vulnerability. The second-chance romance element is well-executed, offering plenty of swoon-worthy moments that fans of the genre will love.
The world-building in The Lost Pack is rich and immersive. Davis creates a universe full of complex pack politics, shifting dynamics, and mystical elements that feel grounded in the real world while still allowing readers to escape into something entirely fantastical. The plot unfolds at a steady pace, with twists and turns that keep you guessing, making for an addictive read.
The romance is a highlight of the story, but it’s also complemented by action-packed scenes, intriguing secondary characters, and a mystery that adds depth to the plot. The interactions between the characters, especially the hero and heroine, build to a satisfying emotional crescendo, making the eventual resolution both heartwarming and thrilling.
In short, The Lost Pack is an enthralling start to a series that promises more exciting adventures in the world of shifters. With a compelling heroine, a swoon-worthy hero, and an unpredictable plot, it’s a must-read for fans of paranormal romance. Sophie Davis has once again proven her talent for creating captivating stories that keep readers on the edge of their seats.

I thought that this book had great potential and with just a bit... more... it could have been great.

I really enjoyed the FMC and I was excited to see how she would manage the blows and conflicts that came her way at the beginning of the book. She was a spoiled Alpha's daughter who had everything she wanted, and in the blink of an eye, her father's life is taken in front of her. While we did experience some grief as her world crashed down around her, I do wish that the author would have fleshed out the heartbreak. The world goes on yes, but with the way that her life got flipped upside down, it felt like the FMC moved on from the loss of her father a bit too quickly.

Our MMC.... He checks off boxes. That's kind of it. He feels like a trope checklist with not much depth. I didn't feel the tension or chemistry between our characters and he just comes across like a brick wall. He has a few moments where you start to see character development, an MMC with a life of his own, and then it slips out of your fingers as he regresses back into the trope checklist.

I thought the author was inspired by having past lives and memories be woven into the story. Yet again, I wish that it was more fleshed out. I wish that we got to experience the characters a bit more and see how those unlocked memories began to cause shifts within our FMC. She went from spoiled brat to Alpha warrior just a bit too quick for my tastes. The lack of development with the past lives caused them to become unremarkable. I forgot the names of the lives just as soon as they were introduced, leaving me wondering what impact they truly have on the story if at all. The dreams were disjointed and disconnected from the rest of the story until the "big plot twist" at the end, but even then it wasn't enough to pull it back together in a satisfying way.

The wrap up of the story left much to be desired. It feels very "female empowerment" with a leader who shouldn't be a leader. In this world, women are meant for nothing more than mating and having children. They aren't on the council and they have to defer to their mates, or at least that's how I understood it. Our FMC was never raised with the expectation of being a leader. She had no skills outside of fashion and shopping, and suddenly she is an Alpha and has a pack to take care of. She makes many unpopular decisions that seems to alienate her pack members and they are told to basically, get over it. It feels like the writer had an agenda here, which is fine, but didn't write the characters correctly to back it up.

Overall, It was okay. It had pacing issues, the world building needs some work, the editing could have been a little neater, and the characters needed to be fleshed out. But, I did enjoy the store at the base of it, despite the issues.

Okay, let me start by saying: when I first started reading The Lost Pack, it felt a little YA for me, and I wasn’t fully hooked at first. The plot was interesting, but I was missing that je ne sais quoi. I mean, it was good, but something was… off.

Then—bam!—everything clicked into place. The moment when it all comes together? Totally worth the wait! Suddenly, all the pieces of the story fit like magic, and I couldn’t put it down. Once that “aha!” moment happened, I was hooked until the very last page.

Now, let’s talk spice. 🔥 The heat definitely picks up toward the middle and end of the book. Nothing too wild (yet!), but there’s definitely enough 🔥🔥 to make you blush and think, “Yep, fan art is coming for sure.” 🤭

Also, can we talk about the main character for a sec? I was a little nervous about whether we’d get a strong, independent female lead, but trust me, Sophie Davis delivers. By the end of the book, you’ll be cheering for this badass heroine all the way.

The second half of the book really picked up speed, and now that I’m done, I NEED book two yesterday. These characters have so much more to give, and I need to know what happens next! So @seesophiewrite if you’re reading this, please, PLEASE tell me there’s more coming soon! 😂

This book is super vivid—I could totally picture each character in my head. It feels like it needs to be a trilogy, or maybe even a TV show down the line (hello, binge-watch potential!). 😍

If you love shifters, vampires, prophecies, a sprinkle of magic, and just the right amount of mystery, The Lost Pack should definitely be on your TBR!

The Lost Pack is a thrilling journey of vengeance, romance, and self-discovery set in the tumultuous world of the Ophiuchus Wolf Pack. This book kept me hooked from start to finish - I tried to go slow with it, I really did, but ended up finishing it in just over two days.

What I loved most about this story was the relationship between the two main characters, Drake and Penn. Penn is my favorite type of male lead—strong, silent, and capable, with an intense yet gentle sense of protection over Drake. He’s fearless and smart, but what really stood out to me was how much space he gives Drake to grow. He believes in her strength, which allows her to stand on her own two feet. This dynamic was beautifully written, and their banter had me laughing and blushing in equal measure. Drake is a brilliant female lead—witty, smart, and skilled at playing the political games that surround her. Despite all the chaos, she stays true to herself and her values.

The writing style was another highlight for me. The authors used rich imagery that made the world feel immersive and kept the pace fast and engaging. The dream sequences were a particularly clever way to explore the history of the pack while adding intrigue and excitement to the story. I found myself looking forward to those scenes, as they deepened both the plot and Drake's understanding of her situation.

Overall, The Lost Pack delivers on multiple levels—it’s witty, romantic, thrilling, and sexy. I truly connected with Drake and Penn, and I loved watching Drake’s growth and strength evolve as the story unfolded. This is a book I highly recommend for fans of paranormal romance, shifters, and fantasy

Thank you so much to NetGalley for this ARC. All opinions are my own.

⭐⭐⭐⭐.5 but rounding up to 5 since I can't do .5 stars here - I loved this book and would absolutely recommend it

Thank you Netgalley and publishers for an ARC copy. Here is my honest review.

So, diving into The Lost Pack was a wild ride from the start. It’s clear Sophie Davis put a lot of thought into creating a unique spin on pack dynamics and shifter lore, which is honestly a huge plus for me in the paranormal genre. Right off the bat, you feel the tension and camaraderie between the characters, and I could tell that the author really wanted to make the pack bond believable and intense.
The characters are written with depth, and each has their own quirks and motivations that feel genuine. The storyline has a mix of mystery, suspense, and a hint of romance that doesn’t overpower the plot but keeps it engaging. There’s this balance between action-packed scenes and emotional moments, which I really appreciated—it never felt like too much of one thing. Also, the pacing is on point, no chapters felt like filler, which made me breeze through the book pretty quickly!

What Could’ve Been Better: I did feel like some of the lore and backstory could’ve been fleshed out a little more. At times, I wanted a deeper dive into the pack's history and their conflicts. There were moments where the plot felt slightly predictable, but honestly, it didn't take away too much from the enjoyment. I just wished for a bit more of a twist or unexpected turn.

This book does an excellent job at keeping you invested. The relationships, especially within the pack, felt authentic and made me care about what would happen to each character. There’s a steady build-up of tension that kept me turning the pages, and I’m definitely intrigued to see where Sophie takes the series next.
I’d give it a solid 4 out of 5 stars. It’s a strong start with engaging characters and a gripping storyline, though a bit more world-building would’ve pushed it to a 5 for me. If you’re into shifter stories with action, drama, and a good dose of mystery, The Lost Pack is worth adding to your TBR!

If you like Elizabth Briggs's series "Zodiac touched" then "The Lost Pack" by Sophie Davis is for you. It's a gripping tale of betrayal, vengeance, and redemption set against the backdrop of a fallen wolf pack. The story centers on Drake Aspen, the daughter of the former Alpha, whose world is torn apart after the twin comets—meant to bring peace—bring chaos instead. Now imprisoned under the rule of a cruel usurper, Drake must navigate the treacherous landscape of lies and hidden agendas.

The plot moves quickly, with plenty of twists and an intriguing prophecy that keeps the stakes high. Drake’s struggle to reclaim her pack and confront the secrets Penn harbors adds depth to the story, keeping me on edge the entire time.

The tension between Drake and Penn Williams is real, the Beta assigned to guard her. The enemy-to-lovers trope is handled brilliantly, with their relationship simmering beneath the surface, full of mistrust and undeniable chemistry. It was neither overly predictable nor overly sappy, making it a refreshing take on the trope.

One of the standout aspects of this book is the character development, especially for Drake. She starts as a somewhat spoiled and entitled character but evolves into a strong, determined leader you can’t help but root for. Watching her grow as she faces betrayal and learns to trust again was one of my favorite parts of the book.

Sophie Davis has crafted a well-paced, emotional, and thrilling story that left me wanting more. I’m excited to explore her other works, as "The Lost Pack" proves she’s a talented author with a knack for weaving complex characters and exciting plots.

I really loved this book, and it’s clear I’ve found a new favorite author in Sophie Davis. The impeccable character growth, fast-paced plot, and rich world-building make "The Lost Pack" a must-read for fans of fantasy and romance.

{M/F, First Person Single POV, 4*}

The world:
The Ophiuchus Pack was separated from society, not just from humans. Their patriarchal society meant that the alpha’s daughter, Drake (thank goodness her name was not ‘Luna’), automatically accepted that the Beta would become alpha instead of her.
Women were not forced into servitude or baby-machines, though. And as a pampered princess, Drake built up a closet of boujie dresses, a tv, and her own separate home.
Despite her privilege, I immediately liked her personality.

“For centuries, the Ophiuchus had prized boys over girls and men over women. Yet there was a faction of our pack where the opposite was true—the widows. Female wolves usually outlived their mates by several decades”.

The Plot:
A prophecy declared that a new warrior would rise during the time of two comets. For years the Ophiucus pack would have a ball and celebrate the passage, but this year the Beta, Finneas, decided to force the prophecy, leaving Drake (I hate the masculine name) an orphan and prisoner in her own home.
Finneas kept her alive to force the mating
.
Her main guardian, Penn, was also Finneas’s brother. Despite their mutual attraction, he was determined to stay aloof and enact Finneas’s commands. Only near the end did I discover the real surprise. They both were reincarnated.

The Romance:
Can I admit I loved the dynamic between Drake and Penn? He arrives like a quiet storm and plays both jailor and protector throughout. It feels like enemies-to-lovers.

⁃ Reincarnation fantasy
⁃ Fated Mates
⁃ Bully romance (not between the main characters)
⁃ Dystopian society after regime takeover
⁃ She saves the pack
