Imagine really going to see a man about a horse—and getting your entire soul snatched by a rich, country, handsome Alabama cowboy.
Erin believed she had it all—a successful career, a devoted fiancé, and a future that seemed brighter than ever. But when betrayal flips her world upside down, she learns that trusting the wrong man can leave scars that take more than time to heal. With her grandmother’s sudden illness calling her back home to Lowndes County, Alabama, Erin reluctantly trades the bustle of Texas for the quiet of her hometown. What she doesn’t expect is how love—unexpected, raw, and real—can creep in when she least expects it. But just as she begins to open her heart again, her past resurfaces, threatening to tear apart everything she’s trying to rebuild.
Sevyn, a graduate student at Alabama State University, has grown used to life in the spotlight as the girlfriend of Malik, the school’s star quarterback. But when Malik’s betrayal shatters her world, Sevyn flees to the Alabama countryside, seeking refuge and a fresh start. There, she crosses paths with Zane Blackwell, a man whose magnetic presence and unshakable stability give her a glimpse of a love she never knew she deserved.
Follow Erin and Sevyn as they face heartbreak, rediscover their worth, and explore the healing power of love amidst the trials and tribulations of life. From city lights to country nights, their stories will take you on a journey of resilience, redemption, and the kind of love that only the deep South can deliver.
If you’re a fan of African American romance, hood drama, country BDE wealthy men, cheating husbands, second chance love stories, single mothers, and strong independent women, you’ll fall in love with "Wives of the Country Boyz Cartel" by Kelsi.
Baby, I need to make a trip to Alabama. I am in love with these characters. I don't want to give too much away. I definitely recommend you to read this book. Lu will have you laughing. Zane is a sweetheart. Ace is definitely nothing to play with me. I'm not sure what Danni was thinking playing with that man 🤔 I definitely don't understand these exes that can't move on. You did the dirt not handle consequences. Kelsi, this is my first book of yours I read . I can definitely say it will not be my last.
READ IT NOW!!! I loved the book- So ready for Part 2. Honestly, I loved how each and every brother carried himself. I'll have to say Lu was my favorite. His sense of humor and how willing he was to really get to know his crush had my heart swelling. First time reading this author but I can't wait to read more of her books!
I was not ready for that cliffhanger but I wasn’t prepared for this book to be so freaking good either… What Ace, Erin and Sevyn had to go through was straight trash and my heart broke but hey love. was on the other side of the rainbow and i can’t wait for the evolution of each couple and how their love blossoms… On to book two
Great start to the series. Ace, Lucian, and Zane are the true definition of country boyz with some hood swag. I loved all three couples and where I see their stories developing.
This was okay to me, it’s very much a series primer which is nice the drama is reasonable the main characters appear to be likable no real complaints on that front. My issue is the ex-fiancée suing her for “pain and suffering” and I’m sorry I know it’s fiction BUT BFFR. It’s no way a court even allowed that BS. Like I’d prefer a whole southern take down like he try and get the Cowboy Cartel off the street rather than that petty ass attempt. Like how you hurt but have a baby on the way and had the chick in the house like I’m sorry lmao that sh*t is too farfetched.
There's some trifling low down characters in this book. Erin thought Terrence was her person. Only to find out he was playing in her face. She gave him grace for real because any other woman probably would've really hurt Terrance after receiving pictures of a ultrasound and of him screwing another woman the same day he proposed. Seyvn thought Malik was this stand up guy she been with for the last four year's. Until she decided to go out with her sister and best friend just to end up at a party and found Malik in a uncompromising position. Meeting Zane was definitely a huge step up from Malik. Zane was a respectable, laid back, but savage sweetheart. Before Danni trifling way's were revealed. I already knew she was up to some bs judging by Ace saying he wasn't going to argue with her. Yes I understood her concerns for Ace to slow down and spend more quality time with her and Ace heard her as well as starting to put forth the effort. Ace was actually a damn good husband and father to Danni and their daughter. Although he was attracted to Erin. Ace never act on it because he's a faithful married man and he also knows what Erin been through. However Ace had no clue that his wife was creeping behind his back with one of his employees. Not only that. Danni slow ass was about to risk it all for King not even knowing he was playing the hell out of her. King didn't give a damn about Danni. He was only dealing with her for his own selfish reasons and she fell for it. I'm surprised Kera caught Lucian eye. He is definitely the hoe out of his two brothers. I thought Lucian only wanted Kera because he knew the Sheriff that don't like him, Ace, and Zane. If her father. He didn't care that Kera was married. Something about her had him gravitating towards her. He also sensed that she was in an unhappy marriage. Lucian have no clue how right he was. Kera husband is very controlling and abusive piece of s**t. Having to run to Kera aide when she called. Lucian was in shock when he got to Kera and he learned some news.
Enjoyed! Of course there's a cliff hanger ending, and it would have helped if we knew who the heck Lucian was talking about, but yeah, I'm strapped in for Book 2. Felt this was a much more mature book than the one I previously read, and I liked the couples better. I also love the way this author celebrates darker complected women (and men). Very refreshing, though I could do without the 'good grade of hair' narrative. Are we still doing that in 2025?
Marriage infidelity is still a big part of these stories, and even though the marriages had issues, Lucian pursuing Kera regardless of her marital status was not cute, and her entertaining him at her place of business during the day was even worse. Yes, yes, I know her marriage was terrible. Still, these women (both in this book and 'Trailride with an unhinged cowboy') with really powerful fiancés and husbands, take lots of very bold chances. At least, Ace did it right.
Zane and Sevyn were my favorite, followed by Ace and Erin. As usual, there are lots of POVs but overall. I enjoyed.
Lucian about to have a field day with Juan and Kera's dad. She really needs someone like Lucian in her life because the one person who was supposed to love and protect her, her dad, sold her to the devil. Danni had the life any woman would dream of and she fked it up creeping with the help. She even had the audacity to try and run off with alllll Ace's money. Now that Ace about to be single again he can pursue Erin whose also newly single. Ion know what type of time Terrance on with trying to sue Erin for pain and suffering when he was the one who cheated and created a life. With Ace in her corner now there will be no worries. I love Sevyn. She is a sweetheart but don't take no mess, just ask her ex Malik. He better go on about his business tho cause Zane is a different breed. Can't wait for part two.❤❤
This book was definitely a great read and kept me wanting more. These Blackwell men are on their A-Game at all times no matter what’s going and the future women in their lives have their work cut out for them but the women before them did as well. I knew that wasn’t an accident that took Ace’s mentor away from him smh. This is gonna get worse before it gets better in terms of the ppl doing the men and their new women wrong. Ace’s wife knows she’s dead wrong for trying to run with his money. Lucian is a hot head but he’s a great person I know he about to cause some damage behind the cop’s daughter Kera. Malik ain’t ish for doing Sevyn how he did her. This was definitely a great read filled with drama and more. I can’t await to read part 2. You did a great job boo
Well, welcome back MS Kelsi great job your pen is on fire with your return you truly showed up and showed out with this one. The storyline and charters were amazing. What a beautiful representation of love. I love Ace Lucian and Zane. Them Blackwell brothers were well rounded honest and loyal and were definitely not to be played with. I hope things work out for Erin Ace Seyven Zane especially for Kera and Lucian. Terrance Danni Malik King Juan and Monique were all self centered and disloyal. I'm not going to spoil it for others I'll just say get it and read it's so worth it you won't be disappointed. I can't wait for part 2.
Terrence played with Erin, and he thought she really was gonna allow it. His dog ahh deserves everything that comes to him. Erin better than me bcuz I would've given both of them the business. Sevyn was blind by lust bcuz Malik definitely didn't love her, I'm glad she got with Zane. Why is the wife to a good man always so trifling? Yeah, Danni doesn't deserve Ace. He's a good man, Savannah.🤣 She knew what that man was about when she got with him, and she got played by King. Those brothers are something else, I love their brotherly bond, and I don't have a favorite. This was a good read, and I can’t wait for part 2!
These Blackwell men are a whole vibe! And dumb Danni went against the grain for a man making false promises, like how dumb can you be?? She was living the life and messed it all up behind a worker. Ace is a damn good man can’t wait to see what becomes of Eric and his relationship they are good for each other. Poor Kera, I hope that Lucian helps her get away from her husband and her father who put her in this situation. I feel like Sevyn ex is still lurking somewhere but that’s okay he don’t want to have to see Zane. Very good read can’t wait for part two finished this in one sitting.
Omg Ace bout to act a fool. I love the boss mentality that Ace has. Zane is the truth with his sexy cowboy manners. I cant wait to see how part 2 goes. King deserved everything he got. I understand Ace wife felt alone but she was silly she really thought she was going to get away with all that money she had the audacity to cheat with someone not on her husband level what in the world... i love how the CC and they all came up together so no one should cross the other. I knew Erin fiancee was a piece of crap.... he an the assistant would have felt my wraith. Love all the Country Boyz Cartel men are the truth.
Damn this some heat forreal. I love all the ladies and guys and their pairings. I hope the CBC get at them Dominicans and sheriff jones so my girl Kera can be free and be with Lu. I just love Zane and his old lady and I’m so happy Ace is getting out that damn marriage with the dumb hoe. Lost a good thing thinking you was getting something better and then try to rob my mans for all he’s worth just scandalous. I love Erin for him and hope something positive come of it. Can’t wait for book 2.
Can we get part 2 now! I barely put my phone down because I could stop reading! It seems like every character needed their person and they all met someone who is really opening them up for the better, after their drama! I’m so happy to everyone trying to move on but of course a few of them have the hating exes! Man I can’t wait to read part 2 I really want to see what happens with everyone especially Ace, Zane and Lucian!
CBC…. Save a horse and ride a Cowboy! The lucky women in this book make me want to do just that. Well not Dumb Danni, she where she need to be! Ace, Lu, Zane, Black and Nine all had their heads on straight and deserved to be happy with their woman. Yeah this book is about the wives but the light that was shed on the Black Kings in this book made me proud! Great work Kelsi
Man man man, after reading this book, I think I need to move to the country and find me a country man with some slugs 😍😍 I love their hospitality and the way they go hard for their woman! I would say Zane then Lucian is my favorite, but also can’t wait to see how Ace and Erin plays out. All of sudden I need to go see a man bout a horse 😂😂, but naw seriously this book is a great read and can’t wait for part 2!
I liked all the characters. I can definitely see this getting juicy. I feel like it ended abruptly. It wasn’t really a cliffhanger but I definitely wanted to read more after it ended. The book had a good pace and good development, I just wish it continued beyond the last chapter. Still 5 stars for me because it was well-written, the backstory was good and you can see how things will develop going forward.
This book was SO good! I felt like I knew these characters and we’ve been friends since childhood. It was such a heartwarming introduction to a beginning to forever vibe. It was southern hospitality meets I’ll peel your muffin cap back 🤭! Download now and you won’t regret it!
It's definitely had some drama, betrayal and heartbreaking in this book. Malik and Terrence or trifling lowdown and dirty people. Seyvn and Erin thought Malik and terrence were good men boy was they wrong. I felt sorry for kera am glad lucian was there for her.danni gets played by king.i love the cartel Boyz I wait to read part two
You want be disappointed with this cartel series ( start) definitely a leg turner them Blackwell Boys with the Nine and Black give you a peg turner of love, lies unexpected twist you want see coming a must read !!! Them wives definitely got it going on !!! Be careful who you mess with because it could be deadly behind them !! A must read !!!
I enjoy this book. I cannot wait until part two comes out. I read this book in three days. These country boysz I can’t get enough of this read. I hope part two is coming out soon. This is a must read, please support this author. You will not be disappointed, action drama, sex appeal all wrapped in one.
I love that this setting is in Alabama so i can literally hear the accent of my home state. Second thing i love is that fact that cameos of my favorite black authoress THEE Grey Huffington gets mentioned too!! 😍🥰
SUCH an awesome read, excited for the continuation!
Greeeat read can't wait for part 2 story line wack azz men who cheated and thought it was ok to get a second but real men came and took there p!ace lol the bond with the brothers and other brief tom anther mother was good to see no back stabbings just honest love and the women got along down to earth women building each other up
Although oh girl went home to grieve her grandma she also was trying to get over her man cheating and them breaking up. However she finds love in Ace and her new friends. This book is really good these county boyz not only in a cartel but they have women drama all through Alabama
This was an all around good ass read. Baby the brothers Ace, Lucian and Zane Blackwell. The Erin and Sevyn didn’t know each other but are both dealing with the change dilemma. The drama was good and tasteful but the story of each character was told to perfection. I’m talking down to breakups, hanging out and even finding love. I can’t wait until part 2.
I can say I truly enjoyed reading this book because I live in Montgomery and know exactly where all those places are in the countryside. I loved the storyline , the book is well written, making it easily flow from one chapter and character alike. I can't wait to read the next series and see where it takes me.
I’m hooked on the plot and the characters. This was so good. I really liked all the lead characters and their personalities. This is a new to me author and I’m not disappointed! Can’t wait to read part two because that cliffhanger has me stuck! 💖
