we meet dancer Elodie who is now being sent to the palace as a worker to get the skinny in the King. she has no choice as her employer has paid for her education and such. Of course she would be surrounded by mean girls and men who think they are gods gift to women. Hank knows that he needs to protect Elodie so he enrolls in the palace military so he can keep an eye on her. The kings right hand man The Raven thinks Elodie is an assassin to kill the king. The palace is attacked by Shades and a burst of magic somes out of Elodie...but shes magicless. one day elodie found a hidden room only she could access and while inside it felt vaguely familiar and when she starts digging around, she in enveloped in immense pain to have her magic released. The king, the raven and Hank will keep Elodie close until shr can be trained. there is more as play than what anyone thought. a Prophecy, uncovered truths and a whole Lotta sizzle make this a good read.

What a beautiful story. I absolutely loved this one. The word building was phenomenal. The characters had so much depth and it made them so realistic. I loved the action and mystery that filled this story. I was captivated and drawn in. This story brings you into the world. Had you going through the mystery right alongside them. I thoroughly enjoyed this.

I just finished reading WORTHLESS by Grace Williams, and I have to say, it was a truly gripping experience from start to finish. The world building immediately pulled me in this fractured fae realm, stripped of its magic, felt both dangerous and fascinating. You can really sense the tension and stakes in every scene, especially with the looming war that threatens to turn everything upside down.
What I loved most about this book is the way the main character’s journey is crafted. She’s bound by debt, yet determined to reclaim her freedom, and watching her navigate deadly power struggles and complex emotions felt very real. Her internal conflicts, particularly as she grapples with love, desire, and the awakening magic within her, made her incredibly relatable despite the fantastical setting. It wasn’t just a story about magic or war it was a story about choice, courage, and the lengths someone will go to take control of their life.
The romance in the book is well-developed tooit’s not forced or rushed, but woven into the narrative in a way that enhances both the plot and character development. I also appreciated the moral complexities Grace Williams explored; there’s no black-and-white hero here, and that nuance made the story feel authentic.
Overall, WORTHLESS is a bold, immersive read that balances action, intrigue, and emotional depth. It left me invested in the characters and eager for the next installment in this series. If you enjoy tales of self-discovery, magic, and the delicate dance between power and desire, this book is definitely worth your time.

Great story overall, a good balance between context, action, and mysteries to solve. The world building is a bit of a strange context and could have been expanded on, but it still didn't cause disinterest in the story and could be more explained in the next book.
Character progression was good, a good balance between internal monologue, diologue, and narration. Their are a few spelling and punctuation errors but didn't affect the story at all.

P.S. Pumpkin is absolutely adorable.

Elodie is an orphaned fae who tragically lost her parents and her memories. She was sent to trixies bootcamp, sorry i meant orphanage.
As an adult to pay of the depts of care and education from the orphanage she is forced to take up dancing at trixies, and manages to miss the same fate as others who are bound in dept to trixie.
When trixie is hired to spy in the castle, she sends elodie. We follow elodie as she navigates the precarious court where no noble can be trusted. She unlocks her fae magic and somehow manages to catch the eye of the king and his raven, and with the help of her protector hank they search for answers on the war with the Unseelie, the prophecy and the ancient magic she possess' .

If I'm brutally honest, being the one to write the book means nothing is a surprise, and I am super critical of my own work.
BUT..
Do I like the story? Yes
Do I like the characters? Hell yes... Hank "swoon"
Would I change anything? NO, it's fast-paced, exciting and spicy I mean what more can you ask for on a cold Winters night?!

fantastic book

Fantastic book, packed with action from the start to finish and lots of steamy scenes and spice. Easy to read, difficult to put down.
It’s like watching a movie in my head.
Heroine is brave and fierce who fights for what’s right and finds love with her three destined mates. It’s a book full of action, magic, shifters and romance. Highly recommended.
