VonBrandt Wolf Pack #2

To Catch A Mate

Rate this book
A wolf divided by two worlds… torn between desire and destiny...

Small town sheriff, Allan VonBrandt, would like nothing more than to focus only on his work and not on the leggy and irresistible brunette who won't take no for an answer. But when Fate steps in and his inner wolf won't refuse the magick pull she has on him, Allan must confront his animalistic desires--whether he wants to or not.

Reyna DuBois has never met a man--or wolf--she can't tame, but Allan just might be the stubborn exception to the rule. Refusing to give up, Reyna enlists the help of her inner wolf to seduce the ever-reluctant sheriff, promising this particular cowboy the ride of his life.

Camryn Rhys grew up on the border of Canada and the US, and still hasn’t decided which country to call home. She splits her time between the Alberta and Montana Rocky Mountains, with friends and family in both beautiful locations. After running her own restaurant for several years and acquiring advanced degrees in writing, foodie romance seemed the only logical option. When she’s not watching the Food Network, she’s reading a romance novel, or if absolutely necessary, working as a consultant. Someone has to put really excellent food on the table.

Desperate acting heroine and hero in serious denial about what he is.
I find I am getting confused as to this authors books. I know I have read and reviewed this but cannot find my review.
But then I see a title I know, that is in a different series. It is either VonBrandt or Moonbound, I give up.
Liked that Reyna took no guff and stood up for herself but found her attitude and behaviour towards Allan just annoying and demeaning.
What she does with Allan is just desperate actions and demeans her strength.
Allan has some real problems being a wolf shifter. In fact he is anti-wolf to a stupid degree.
He wants a human wife, a human life but uses his wolf to be sheriff. Hypocritical springs to mind. His thinking is never properly explained, something to do with his dead mother.
He then pushes Reyna too far and she leaves him alone, just as he realises he wants her.
Reyna of course forgives him without one grovel.

This was a pretty middle-of-the-road shifter romance for me. While it was written well enough, it felt like a very generic entry into the genre without many unique concepts or fresh takes on werewolf lore.

I really liked the independence and personality of the FMC; she had a backbone and a distinct voice that kept me engaged. Unfortunately, I found the MMC to be more annoying than charming, which made it hard to fully root for the pairing. The chemistry also missed the mark for me—the sex scenes felt semi-awkward rather than sexy, which is a bit of a letdown for a romance centered on a "fated" connection.

Overall, it’s not the worst book I’ve ever read, but it didn't stand out from the crowd. It’s a "one and done" for me—not something I’d necessarily recommend or revisit, but a decent enough way to pass the time if you just want a standard shifter fix.

I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Book five in the VonBrandt Family Series follows the main werewolf character, Allan VonBrandt, the small town sheriff trying to live a human life, and Reyna DuBois, the feisty werewolf from New Orleans who bursts into his life one night and changes everything. Soon after they meet, sparks begin to fly between the two of them as Allan is thrust back into the life he was trying to leave behind.
I would highly recommend it to others that are looking for werewolf/paranormal books.

Reyna was not my favorite person

Not as good as the previous books in my opinion. It could be because I had a strong dislike for the main female character, Reyna. I don't know how many times I gritted my teeth while reading about the things she was doing or saying, especially when she tied him up in the barn scene. Some people will enjoy this book but I am not one of those people.
I still have it three stars because the writing was good, just not my cup of tea.

The town sheriff is a wolf that plans to live like a human. When his Fated mate shows up he is not happy. His response is to ignore the pull of the magick. His mate is not having any of that. The ensuing battle is epic, and pretty funny. I am not going to give away any more of the plot. I am moving on to the next book. Hurry up, you're behind!

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Who doesn’t love a tenacious she wolf who is willing to do anything to gain her fated mate? Reyna is gutsy, strong, beautiful and willing to do what must be done to get Allen, her fated mate, to accept his wolf culture and claim her. The dingbat, Allen, rejects her at least six times. Our girl picks herself right up and starts swinging. Loved Reyna, she was well named and Allen became the wolf he was meant to be. Loved this book!

CRUDE & LEWD. There wasn't a shred of "romance" in the storyline. I despised the female character from beginning to end. She was portrayed as crude, self-centered, beyond disgusting. Allan VonBrandt had been okay from previous storylines that he had been included, but after this story, I wouldn't want this man to be in law enforcement in my town.

DNF

The writing of the first book was great but I found the situation and the actions of the characters so abhorrent. I did decide to give this series one more chance and it did not pay off. Normally I never stop reading a book in the middle but these characters especially the FMC was so unlikable that I didn't really care enough to finish it. Very unusual situation for me.

delightful way to unwind

An easy read, with a take control female lead character which I loved. Storyline was a bit unidimensional but over all it was a lovely escape for a couple of hours.

Loved this book

This story was short but sweet. I enjoyed every moment of this book. It was nice to read about a strong woman who knew what she wanted and was not afraid to do what it took to get it.

I'm not usually into the wolf shifter books but this one is fantastic. I couldn't put it down. I love the characters and their loyalty. The banter was funny.

Gees, males are sure wishy washy. Actually fun reading about the chasing and catching of one of those crazy males.
