Summary: Dora goes on a trip to have a sleepover with backpack.
Why I Read This: It was on a list of 1000 books to read to your child before kindergarten.
Review: I have never read nor watched anything Dora. Now I don't regret that decision. It does the whole pictures with words underneath, too. But the words are so small it doesn't help a child read. The words that they give a picture to are also words that the kids could easily find out by context or a little bit of reading: backpack, swiper, etc...
Set up just the like the show, this simple story is easy to read for beginner’s (with icons accompanied by words for some key words) and Dora’s interactive questions and activities. Help her get to Boots’ treehouse for a sleepover and you too can enjoy cookies and pirate stories with Dora and Boots.
Our girls had a lot of fun with this one. It was a cute story about a sleepover at Boots' treehouse. The story had lots of pictures that were combined with the narrative to make it easier for little ones to follow along with the story. Our girls really enjoyed this story and they love all of their Dora the Explorer books.
It's a really fun book and it tells you that you have to get to bed right away. And it tells you about pirate books. Boots loves Pirate Books. And it tells you that you have to go to bed right away, because I don't go to bed right away. And it tells you how to get to Boot's house. And it tells you that in dark places you have to use a flashlight.
A nice story about Dora's adventures as she heads on her way to a sleepover. Even though the book appears to be created for independent reading, the book works well for a small group of 1-2 kids. The two young ladies enjoyed the book during storytime reading & grasping words and connecting the pictures.
My son loved this book! He loved that he was able to recognize the pictures in the story, that he was able to be part of the reading. It was like I can do it, but it helped to build a better vocabulary, so he can talk more.
This is a story for beginner readers about Dora the Explorer who goes on an adventure to find Boots house for a sleep over. This would be a good book for young readers because many of the words are replaced with pictures that will make it easier for them to read.
Great bedtime story for kids who love Dora the Explorer the ready to read Dora the Explorer level one uses pictures for some of the words in the book to help beginning readers learn to read.
Not much of Swiper. I don't like Swiper. Swiper and Swiping does not count. Well, really all I liked about the book was Boots, Cookies, and Dora. I wouldn't tell my friends to read it. I don't think my friends would much like it.
This was nice, as it was different than the other two Dora sleepover stories we have. The word-identification pictures were great, so Mini-Me can "read" along with me - she thinks that's lots of fun.
