As friends become enemies and enemies become villains, the Ironside underbelly casts a very wide shadow over everyone within its walls. The academy that once promised Isobel Carter salvation has pulled back the curtain and revealed itself for what it truly is.
A pretty little prison.
She may have been reduced to a puppet behind a screen, but at least the Alphas of Dorm A are there to heighten her performances, quicken her breath, and flood her face with colour for the cameras.
Maybe they will even catch her when she falls.
Or maybe they have been pulling the strings all along.
The bars of her prison may be gilded, but survival is a messy game, and what do Sigmas do when they can’t keep their hands clean?
They get filthy.
Beware the pretty monsters, because this social media game just got brutal.

This series and its characters have a serious hold on me and I am completely in love and in awe of it. I feel like it has been so long since I was so crazy obsessed with a series. It is not a perfect series and there are so many flaws and yet it seems to work out BRILLIANTLY.
The world building was explored more in this book and I was really appreciative of it. The gods and goddesses had me confused but it got easier to grasp. Also, more back stories? Heck yeahhh. And toe curling spice?? Sign me up. I ate up each and every second of it. The Alphas had me swooning so much, I was truly gasping for air. It delivered on the spice sm, especially after that tortuous slow burn.
The winners for me in this book are obviously Mikel and Kalen- they just up the scenes, Gabriel and Elijah- SO HOT, Cian and Moses- gave me breathing issues, Oscar- he's such a softie at heart. I am loving Isobel's growth. She is standing up for herself more and am proud of her!! But at the same time, idk how she was so dumb regarding Kilian. Sophia is a good addition, I like her already.
Also, the group chats are so fun and a hilarious addition. Oscar getting muted gets me everytime 😭😂
The only reason it wasn't a perfect read for me was that the ending happened a bit too fast. I wanted it to drag out a bit, in terms of action sequences. I WANT MOREEEEEEEEE!!! Am so excited to start the next book already, given the cliffhanger.
A lot of people love this book and it's better if y'all don't read this review 😭🙏
Guess who went in with high expectations just to get super disappointed? Yep, that's me. Comparing reading the first two books, this one took me so long to finish.
Idk it's just not hitting anymore and I'll tell you why-
Firstly, there are TEN of them, alright? And I loved the character development and I loved all these characters but the romance? I don't feel that connection between Isobel and any of the guys. Ten is just two much, no matter what you say. It's hard to focus or properly fall in love with any of them. I was liking Moses and Oscar the best so far (call me a red flag) but they also icked me out later on.
Second, this is personal choice but I prefer female main characters to be brave and like fight for themselves. Isobel was a literal pet 😭 so many times it felt like she doesn't even have a brain of her own. And the guys just kept pushing her and forcing themselves on her and she didn't even say anything! Like girl, I need to see that little bit of fight in you. You can't ALWAYS give in.
The smut was so cringe, don't even get me started on that (again, this could be a me problem because there are only a few selected authors who work for me).
And lastly, I get it, my love language is also physical contact sometimes but NOT EVERY SINGLE SECOND goddamn. Like her always sitting on someone's lap or always needing someone to hug her and cuddle her and not leaving her alone for one second was getting super irritating at one point, ngl. No one wants someone to stick to them like glue 24/7, please. This book was HIGHLY unrealistic.

One thing about me is I can never read more than 2 books in a series consecutively otherwise I'll get bored or lose interest reading books in the same universe over and over. But this, well this one is an exception for me too 🤭🤭One thing about me is I can never read more than 2 books in a series consecutively otherwise I'll get bored or lose interest reading books in the same universe over and over. But this, well this one is an exception for me too 🤭🤭
I'm starting this review with a short story, because... why the hell not? 🤷♀️
So, I'm neighbor to these very sweet and inquisitive 9 yo twin girls —no, they are not called Theodora and Moselle.
The other day they saw me reading outside in the sun and asked me "What are you reading??" Now, I'm very much against lying and being condescending to kids. They are not stupid, they FEEL IT when you do, and it might undermine their self-esteem. Anyhow, how do I answer this? It might have been more difficult than when they asked me why I don't believe in God or why I'm not planning on having kids of my own.
My brain went on overdrive for 30 seconds, I tried to summon Elijah's powers like if he were a Sailor Moon's transformation, and said: "It's a book about a ballerina, who's very sensitive, and how she has these 10 new special friends that help her find her voice and be less... Shy."
Now, I hope you are all adult enough that we can get a bit more real. If you aren't, please don't read these books just yet. Do save them in your TBR though, you'll thank me in a few years.
~~~~~ All the tons of fuel Miss Washington poured so far are now on fire. Like it is to be expected with gasoline, the fumes that built while she poured and poured, caused the FUCKING EXPLOSION THAT WAS THE CLOSET SCENE. 💥🤯 I'm going to ask y'all for a minute of silence for my death at 65%. Courtesy of Moses - Ashford - Isobel - Mr Crystal. It has been the utmost struggle to keep to even some semblance of propriety and not quote the whole thing publicly. The specific power gem she got in this?? 🤯 I had a small crisis, got suck in a loop of rereading it, unable to fathom how she could top that. See quotes at the end of this.
I also loved how the relationship with the professors is built more slowly and carefully, and is focusing on making her feel safe first. That is an exceptionally nice touch, to avoid the grooming bias.
The Elijah—Isobel—Gabriel dynamic was something else I absolutely adored and I can't wait to see much more of it.
We got a deeper glimpse into everyone's tragic backstory, and peeled a few layers from Sato and Cian's personalities, that I was especially looking for.
Being Miss Jane an over achiever, she tops all this WITH subtle but significant pieces of important life lessons, that do not sound like platitudes at all, and that could be a huge help to someone struggling to deal with their sense of self and sexuality. Bravo! 👏👏👏
And now... Look, I've held on this far— 5 WHOLE PARAGRAPHS—... I've been good! I NEED TO TALK ABOUT MOSES 🥴
Moses has not been featured as often as the others until now (there is never enough of Moses), but he does have a talent to be in the right place, at the right time, to get all the most... Meaningful... First times from her. 😏 I can't believe how teenage-obsessed I'm with Moses! I ended up putting THE picture as my phone's background for real, and I keep forgetting and sighing every time I close an app and see it 🤦🏻♀️
Special mention: The text messages!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I've read some non-canon ones Jane makes up just for fun 🤣 I'd read a novella just of those!
I was meaning to wait until next paycheck to order the physical copies. I couldn't. The new Amazon guy who delivers in my area looks like an Italian version of Elijah. NOTE TO SELF: MUST KEEP COMPOSURE WHEN HE COMES.
Reading Rev Update 4) I'll never finish this book. I'm stuck re-reading the scene at the 65% mark, in a loop. I want to stay in this closet with Moses and Ashford forever. 🫠 Send help.
Rev Update 3) Putting the picture here was both the best and the worst decision. I'm wasting even more time just looking at it. I might make it my phone background. I don't know. 🤔🫠🙃
Rev Update 2) I'm just gonna put this here so I can ogle him more comfortably
Rev Update 2B) and this is for Youssra, cause she asked, and I owe her ❤️
Rev Update 1) I've just started this, but something happened today that had me draft the intro for the review already 😂
Pre-read You know the drill, I'm gonna rain updates on you until you hate me, or stop resisting from reading this. I hope there is a grey area in the middle where you just put up with my antics, but I guess it depends on how well you performed in your water-boarding resistance tests.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
This series is so strange. It's like a gruesome version of America's Got Talent in a dystopian world. It kind of cracks me up that all of the guys are so tough but such amazing dancers and singers.
I still think 10 mates is too many. That said, I think most of the guys have distinct personalities at this point. I'm holding out on a few still though. Niko has no purpose - he is boring. I think Elijah and Gabriel are the exact same character; I can't tell them apart, and I wish only one of them existed. I also think the author could have chosen Kalen or Mikel. They're not both necessary because they're basically the same character, but they are more unique/different than Elijah and Gabriel are from each other.
This series is addicting. Hell, I just finished the first 3 books in like 2 days. However, I think that the writing leaves something to desire, but I can't really articulate why. I think the conversations don't flow normally, and they seem to jump around a lot. I struggle to follow the conversations/text threads. I also think that a lot of times, it's unclear how we got from point A to point B. The characters would react to things in the weirdest ways, and I wouldn't really understand what happened haha.
Anyways, I will read book 4 and enjoy it. This is mindless. Not necessarily good, but I'm having fun, I guess?
Humor, angst, a dash of spice, and a touch of despair — all elements that compose Sauter.
Jane managed to piece my heart back together after how Tourner shattered it, only to rip it back apart in the end.
⇢ What to expect: ∘ New Adult ∘ Paranormal Romance ∘ Alternative Omega Verse ∘ Multiple POV ∘ Gifted Academy x Reality TV Show ∘ Reverse-Harem (large) ∘ Strong FMC ∘ Morally Grey MMCs ∘ Great character development ∘ Delicious Banter ∘ Tension & Angst ∘ A drop of spice ∘ Secrets & Betrayal ⇢ Tropes: ∘ Strangers to Friends to Lovers ∘ Rejected Mates ∘ Slowburn ∘ Professor x Student ∘ "Who did this to you?" ∘ "Touch her and die" ∘ Forced Proximity
⤏ Summary After the traumatic events that unfolded at the end of Tourner, the narrative takes quite a turn. Isobel's still being targeted by a mysterious stalker, her father's still trying to use her situation to his advantage, and amidst all this, her men decide to bring her in the loop and become more actively present in her life.
⤏ Plot & Writing As Always, Jane's writing effortlessly draws you in and despite my attempts to delay the inevitable and savor it, I still finished the book in one day ... I-it just can't be helped! Jane's talent for capturing the reader's attention and holding it until the end is truly unmatched!
The plot thickens and the plot-twists are crazy! Not only do we receive more insights into the bonds and the history of this world, but we also find out some dark and deeply concealed secrets. Ironside is proving to be much more than what's depicted on the big screens. Things are not as simple as they seem, and there are far darker elements at play. It certainly had me on the edge of my seat on more than one occasion.
I'm pleased to say that I got the scene I was secretly hoping for: one of the professors witnessing how Isobel is treated by her father. And finding out he's actually quite a weak Alpha, was the cherry on top. I'm confident he'll get what's coming for him for the torment he put Isobel and her mother through for years.
Many of the questions the first two books left us with were answered here, but many remain still. The group chat conversations remain my favorite part of the story. No doubts about it.
⤏ Characters ∘ Isobel Isobel is undergoing a process of healing, aided not only by the other Alphas but also by three new characters introduced in this book, whom I fell in love with from the very beginning. The girl truly deserves a little break...
∘ The Alphas While in the other books, it was clear who got more page time, I find it hard to determine it this time. As mentioned earlier, the men are more and more present in Isobel's life, with one of them accompanying her at almost every turn. Not only are they worried about her safety, but they also start finding it hard to stay away. I also love how protective they all are and even though, in line with Alpha nature, they remain highly territorial and some of them struggle with the concept of "sharing", they still put her first.
⤏ Romance Master of slowburn, Jane Washington, showed some mercy and sprinkled quite a few spicy scenes in this installment. I'm definitely not complaining! The scenes we got ...oh boy, I have the urge to fan myself only thinking about it. The men are definitely taking things up a notch, and I'm so freaking excited to see who loses the battle first because, at the rate we are going, someone will soon.
⤏ Conclusion As I foresaw at the end of my Tourner review, "I anticipate even more heartbreak in the future, as that seems to be Jane's signature style." I hoped I was wrong, but unfortunately, I wasn't. If the end of Tourner didn't affect me that much, this one certainly did. Three weeks later, I'm still suffering.
As this TV show delves into darker territories with each new installment, I'm both apprehensive and eager to discover the twists and turns Jane will hit us within the next chapter of this story.
This series has so many good reviews and I thought it was sus at first but now I UNDERSTAND LOLLLLLLL BC WHAT THEEE HELLLLL
The slowburn is starting to pay off little by little and I'm loving it a lot. I KNEW the first two books would be worth it because the spice in this?! I've said it before and I'll say it again - context is what makes spicy scenes SPICY. Idc if they do the kinkiest shit, if I'm missing the connection then it's just a tangle of messy sentences to me. This series on the other hand provided me with two books worth of angst and tension and connection before teasing me with what *could* be.
With that said. HOLYYY SHITTTT MOSES
Anyway I'm loving this series more and more. Things are somehow getting even more interesting and this book leaves me with even more questions. ALSO THE BOND THAT THE GUYS HAVE?! Their group chat talk?! Jane I would read a whole novella of just their group chat texts pls make it possible 😭
“You’ll always have me to catch you. I’ll never let you fall.”
this is an addiction at this point. I swear to god I don’t know what the author puts in this book but it can’t be only ink because I need it more than oxygen.
I don’t even know what to put in this reviews anymore, I love all the boys and the development of their relationship with Isobel, the plot even tho it’s not the most important thing here, influences a lot on the romance.
I have never read a reverse harem so I don’t have any idea of how is supposed to be done but it’s so entertaining. The tension still high and the smut is ok! I cringed a bit at some word choices but that’s on me because I cringe very easily lol.
I can’t pick my favorite boy anymore, I love them all, but there is a close competition between Theo, killian, Oscar and Cian maybe? I don’t even know, I can’t even find one for myself and this girl has 10.
if this doesn’t have more rating is because I don’t think it’s objectively the best book ever, but it’s literally SO entertaining so I look away for certain things. I don’t think this might be for everyone but I would suggest to give it a try!!
and now, you guessed it, to the next one immediately.
Man, I wanted to love this book after a month of desperately waiting for it, but I'm just so disappointed. There's no other way to describe this book other than "filler". We hardly saw any plot progression, despite the fact that there's a heap of different things going on. For every small answer we get, there's a tonne that's just being left on the back burner. And the things we did discover in this book were pretty underwhelming. We now know the secret organisation's name and a bit about what happens there, and we now know the guys are planning to win Ironside as a group. Cool?
I wouldn't even mind that this book was more character-focused than plot-focused if we actually saw some more progression in the relationships, but I don't think we did. I feel like we learned more about some of the guys as individuals, but didn't necessarily see a lot of relationship growth between them and Isobel. I know there were a bunch of spicy scenes, but after the super slow burn first 2 books, they felt a bit rushed/forced and just didn't quite hit the way I'd hoped. Especially the scene with Moses and Cian in the closet, that felt like borderline assault and just gave me the ick. I know the author is trying to frame it that Isobel is a submissive and likes being dominated and all that kind of stuff, but she doesn't often seem to actually enjoy the sexual experiences? She always seems to be feeling nervous or uncertain or frightened, we rarely see her enjoying them emotionally.
I don't usually mind a more submissive FMC but Isobel's gotten to the point where she's such a push over that it's kind of annoying to read. So many scenes in this book had the potential to be more interesting and angsty, like her finding out that Killian's not actually gay, but instead of her having any real emotional reaction she just goes "that's okay". I was really hoping to see some more trust issues after Eve's betrayal and the guys lying to her, but even when she does have a low point and Gabriel ends up in her head, it gets brushed aside by- you guessed it- a spicy scene.
And that ending was fucking stupid. You're telling me after she was just attacked and been through something traumatic, not one of the /ten guys/ could be spared to escort her out of the chapel??? It felt so forced for the sake of separating her from the guys, which made no sense after an entire book of them being with her almost constantly.
There were a few minor things I enjoyed, like getting to know some of the guys better and the dance scene with Elijah and Gabriel. The group texts and party games always entertain me, even if they are a bit cheesy. I'll keep reading the series because I'm invested in the overall story, but this book was a disappointing installation.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I read this book in one day. One day, where I neglected to feed myself. One day, where I couldn't take my eyes away from the words and ended up bleary-eyed. One day, where I read the most engaging, exciting, and hot book so far in the series. Jane Washington always manages to find a way to make each book an even more emotionally charged, torturous Rollercoaster that I must ride over and over!
Thoughtssss First: THE GROUP CHAT I keep forgetting to say how much I freakin love the group chat like it's honestly one of the best parts. Second: 🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶 Third: that one scene 💎 Fourth: I didn't love this one as much as the others, maybe because it didn't have a mind altering plot twist but it was still SO GOOD.
mhm. good shit! i think i’m enjoying it even more on the reread bc it can be mysterious and ambiguous about certain things, but now i know exactly what secrets the alphas are trying to keep 🙂↕️ there’s just something about these books !!! pulled me right out of my months long slump
first read:
i could stay in this universe forever. i love a good academy setting and this one is immaculate. 10/10. this series has me in an absolute chokehold and i don’t ever want it to end. who doesn’t want to read about 10 book boyfriends? this one had a little extra *spice* to it and it was perfect. no notes. if you love a good reverse harem w slight omegaverse… this is a must read.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ inject this straight into my bloodstream thx
Isobel is so broken… my poor baby has been abused her whole life but NOW she has 10 sassy and scary boyfriends to protect her and I CANNOT GET ENOUGH
They’re all so different how can I possibly pick a favorite!!!???
To read a reverse harem but slow burn is so unique and refreshing because the plot is very emotionally charged and not just smut on smut with no plot. I’m so attached to them ALL ugh!!! 🥲 It took until book 3 for us to get proper spice and it was very much worth the wait 🤭🤭🔥🔥
4★ the pining + sexual tension made me want to scream. and the slow burn ... omg. it's finally paid off in book 3. we got a sprinkle of some foreplay and it was marvelous.
these books are my new guilty pleasure. i can't stop reading them. they have flaws but i just skim right over those in my head.
i'm still not entirely sure how 10 mates are going to work out logistically since most want to fight each other up if another alpha touches isobel. but i'm impressed so far. the author is taking the time to create a different relationship with each man. she was not playing when she said SLOWburn. i'm not convinced we really need alllll 10 though, some blend together.
my favorite mmcs in order: ✎oscar ✎theodore ✎kilian ✎moses
✎niko, cian, gabe, elijah, mikel and kalen- i like them but i didn't have an attachment yet. i'm excited to learn more about them in the next books
i love their lil found family so much. the alphas act more like brothers than friends and the group text messages were hilarious !!
the cliffhangers have been brutal. i'm running to pick up the next book
I comeback here every time a finish reading a book hoping it’s released even tho the date is like a month away. That’s how excited I am!! The cliffhanger is so unbearable!!!! I am probably gonna read the this book in one sitting and impatiently wait for the next one
OH. MY. LORD. If I could give this book 2938626278492762748 stars instead of 5, I bloody would!!!! I struggle to stay excited about a series when it's the 3rd or 4th book, but NEVER have I had that problem with Jane's books. She has incredible talent that should be studied. And bottled. And possibly sold on the black market, because I could do with even an ounce of her talent. ANYWHO, this book freaking rocked, and I don't regret the near solid one sitting binge besides the 3 hours of sleep I "had to stop reading" so I could "sleep". 🙄 This is pure genius and if you disagree you're wrong.
How was so much packed into this book!? We're taking the old angst and throwing it away to welcome in delicious and detailed steamy scenes that you're going to have to reread just to make certain you read them correctly the first time. This is unlike anything I've ever read before, and with secrets being unwound and feelings being unmasked, this is positively unputdownable.
The character development and story arc have been absolutely fanfreakingtastic. There are surprises both heart shattering and heartwarming as each chapter charges by.
Jane Washington has made this dark world not only utterly terrifying but enticing as well. Who would've thought that a reality t.v. show, but in book format would be so captivating? Only Ms. Washington could have executed this bewitching book so beautifully.
Get a cup of milk ready because this book gets SPICY.
Just when I think I’ve got a handle on the characters and plot, Jane sends me scrambling. A LOT gets revealed in this book. Of course, this just raises even more questions but WOW.
I don’t know how Jane managed to cram so much in her books, but 10 mates doesn’t seem to be a problem at all.
Also I am living for the food scenes, despite Illy’s aversion to eating.
These books are so addicting. I really thought that this one wouldn't have a cliffhanger but things went crazy in the last 5 pages 😂. This is the worst cliffhanger in the series so far. Anyway I'm glad Isobel finally stood up for herself to her father and that she started to learn to accept her emotions. I will be reading book four soon. RTC. Sauter follows Isobel Carter, who is a Sigma and her ten mates, who are alphas as they continue to participate in the Ironside academy reality show. Isobel almost died at the end of Tourner when she was attacked by her so-called friend Eve so Theodore, Kalen, Moses and the other alphas are determined to protect her from further harm. I am still confused about who some of the alphas are because they are so many of them and they are referred to both their first and last names, which makes it even more confusing. Also the spice started kicking off and I'm not sure if the sexual details of the Omegaverse are for me.This series don't have much of a plot so it's mainly vibes but I don't mind that and a lot of series I love are also the same (I prefer characters over plot for the most part). I will probably start Reliever tomorrow.
Did I enjoy the book? It was ok Would I read this book again? No Will I continue the series? More than likely Will I read from this author again? Most likely
This book really just focused on Isobel’s relationships with all the guys, which took up a lot of book space because there are 10 of them, and some soul bond and artifacts that are being gifted to her from the gods. We get a little peek into the Gifted religion and gods, but not much. Isobel is recovering from her attack at the end of the last book and she gets instructions on what she needs to do to heal and she just kind of ignores them. I’m sure the author wanted her to come across as tough but she just comes across as stubborn and dumb. A mature person would heed the warnings that were given to her and rest her soul and heal because it is important. Her healing journey just falls to the wayside of the story. Sometimes it’s hard to get a clear picture of things. I just could not picture how the chain was in isobel’s skin no matter how many times it was mentioned. The shower scene with killian was so confusing. Was the water on when Kilian put her bra and boxers on and she didn’t even say anything and then Theo came in and she was like I’m washing my hair. I am so confused. Who the hell doesn’t say anything when someone brings your dry clothes into the shower you are using and putting them on you while you are all wet!!! There are scenes I found incredibly problematic and just cringeworthy and really made me lower the rating on this book and honestly it was almost every spicy scene. They just did not work. They were forced and it made it come across as if Isobel was being forced. The scene with Isobel and Oscar in the garden shed felt very pervy and nonconsensual when Oscar was demanding to remove Niko’s saliva from her. I didn’t like it at all. It made me feel really uncomfortable and dirty. What the hell was the scene with Cian and Moses in the closet!!!??? It read like an absolute assault. Who the fuck shoves a crystal into a virgin!!!??! I don’t care how you dress that up, it would not feel good and it would not bring pleasure. They were not gentle, they were violent to say the least. They used Isobel like a f*cking toy and it seemed to be inhumane and straight up rapey. These alphas are coming across less and less likable as the book goes on. They shove a crystal up her väginä and when she goes to yelp Cian shoves his d*ck in her mouth. No warning, no warming up to it. She didn’t even get a choice. She was contemplating it for a second and then she doesn’t have a choice. AND THIS WHOLE F*CKING SITUATION WAS BECAUSE THEY WANTWD TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO ELIJAH WHICH ISOBEL WOULD TELL THEM FREE AND CLEAR IF THEY ASKED HER. Which they ask her repeated “do you want to tell us what happened” and she nods yes SEVERAL TIMES. She can’t talk because they have her mouth covered like a couple of rapists. Then the whole part with Moses. I can’t. Like this is just sexual assault at this point. This whole scene is so gross. I just can’t. I’m so disgusted. Isobel is becoming such a doormat too. Like show some f*cling backbone and stand up for yourself instead of dissolving into a puddle every time an alpha looks at you. Give them some boundaries and make them work for it for once. Say NO for f*cking once. Oh my god 🙄 Isobel saying sorry to Cian and Moses because she freaked out after the closet incident just nail in coffin. She was pretty much assaulted in my opinion and she apologizes to her assailants. WHO WRITES THAT!!! They should be groveling on their knees for forgiveness from Isobel for what they did to her!! Overall, this story didn’t have much of a story. It was just developing relationships and everyone coming to terms with their feelings. I’m going to keep going with this series and hope the next book is better. JW is good at writing a cliffhanger that makes you want to read the next book, that’s for sure.
It is borderline unhealthy you know - the way Jane writes. The cliffhanger from book two slapped us so much in the heart and soul, us poor readers were left bleeding dry for months.
I have finished TWO books between Turner and Sauter. And I am a notorious reader! Everything has been grey and boring - even life - music - love. Such a dry spell - I hardly enjoyed myself!
This book came with colors and so much chillies, and crystal balls, and stuff down below that finally got some attention!
Jane Washington does it again! Jumping back into this series felt like coming home to some of my favorite characters. It was so fun watching them figuring out themselves while also managing the world around them. If you’ve read the first two, you know it’s a SLOW burn but it absolutely picks up in this book in a surprising and hilarious way. We got a LOT of answers to our burning questions that Plier and Tourner left us with. I promise, you will not be disappointed. 🩶
It's funny how throughout this book I went from 🥹 to 😳 all the time.
It was nice to see their relationships and the communication get better with each page. I felt like with each book, we as readers get to know the characters a lot better. Some conversations were... interesting to say the least 😅
The addition of the gods and the artifacts is still a bit confusing. Also the "sex club"? I don't know yet what that is about.
If I could give it 10 stars, I would! I love everything Ironside. I love the men, the women, the bad guys, the good guys, the food, the games, the water, the crystals, I love EVERYTHING! I may have a love hate relationship with the endings and having to wait for the next book release tho😅
As per usual... Jane has out done herself in reader expectations!! She has continued the intriguing narrative of Isobel's search along with the hunger game level of threat of other contestants that make the plot seem fresh and new for readers. When Jane kicks up the spicy level... 🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵. Juggling all those large personalities, Jane knows exactly how to balance the characters to not seem overwhelming for readers to get to know them. I absolutely cannot wait for the next parts to this series!!
Someone save me from this Ironside blackhole I'm in😭😭😭(not rly tho I'm having so much fun) (Disclaimer: this is not a perfect book, the 5 stars are purely for the vibes and the entertainment it is providing me with🤌)
Where do I even begin?? That slowburn sure paid off bcz OMG🔥🔥🔥🔥 I am not a RH girlie, I don't like multiple love interests bcz it makes me feel like the romance is not real. HOWEVER, I don't know what sorcery is in this series bcz I was eating their little encounters up 🫦🫦😭 i think the mating element makes their behavior more believable to me so I choose to ignore my morals here🤣
Everything in this series is so calculated, her growing relationahips with each of the TEN MMCS was so well done! Isobel goes through ALOT in this book, I don't know how she still functions🤣 even though she has weak moments, damsel in distress moments, zombie moments🤣, she still shows so much fortutude and strength🤛 like I'm pretty sure I would have fallen apart in book 1 already😮💨 but she just keeps getting back up, with the help of the guys and THESE GUYS ARE PERFECT LET ME TELL YOU🫶 There is no way I can pick a guy honestly, they are are so different, and each of them helps her in a different way. I COULD NEVER CHOOSE😭 I envied Isobel in many instances in this book but I don't envy having to choose between them eventually 😂
Jane always ends the books in the most cliffhangery cliffhangers ever, so on to book 4 I guess😭
You would expect Isobel to grow into her own, but she is still a pathetic,snivelling , naive little fool. I enjoyed books one and two cause i had hope, but that is utterly destroyed now as the author keeps making her a victim and makes her not have one functional brain cell in her stupid little mind.
Isobel girl at this point I’m living vicariously through you because these alphas are BREATHING LIFE INTO MEEEE
Oh. My. God. I can already feel the terrible slump that’s gonna hit me the moment I finish this series so I’m trying my best to savor it but I genuinely can not stop reading, these books are so addictive in the best way.
When you look at the blurb for this series and see that it’s a reverse harem with one girl and ten guys, it sounds ridiculous. Like there’s NO WAY it’s going to be written well enough where each mmc is fleshed out and has chemistry with the female lead, right? Well these books have, honest to god, blown my mind.
The way Isobel has chemistry with every single one of them!! And how they actually TALK!!! And omg ten guys but it’s a SLOW BURN!!!! I’m so obsessed with everything about this
The group text messages might be my favorite scenes. The banter is SO GOOD and I love the dynamics between all of them. This found family is everythingggg 😩
The fmc Isobel, honestly to me she’s perfect. She’s soft but she’s not, she’s so communicative with the alphas. The connection doesn’t feel forced with any of them and that’s such a difficult task to achieve especially with how many mmcs are in this book. Her character growth is chefs kissssss. The pacing is perfect.
Let’s talk about the alphas because how can I not. I love them ALL (except Theodore - hopefully I warm up to him eventually). It may be too soon to talk favorites but, so far, Kalen is definitely my favorite. I was blushing, giggling, and kicking my feet when he SMILED at Isobel!! Mind you no book has ever made me ACTUALLY giggle and kick my feet. I mean hello this is the THIRD book in the series and yet him smiling at her has me a puddle on the floor. I don’t know if I’ll be able to read a more intense scene between them in the later books without dying tbh. My cause of death? Swooning.
This came as a shock to me because I didn’t care all that much for him in the first book, but Moses might be my second favorite, up until this moment at least. I love how mean he is to her 😩 and that scene of him and Cian with Isobel in the closet? I don’t think I’ll ever forget it. Damn.
I won’t get into too much detail about why I don’t like Theodore, because he hasn’t necessarily done anything wrong? I think it’s because I don’t like how possessive he is over Isobel. The whole “I saw her first and I was friends with her first” and it’s true that he became her friend first and was nice to her from the start, but it still gives him no claim over her. Like duddddddeee this is a reverse harem book please learn to share 🙄. But of course I understand that Isobel having ten mates is also something that’s never happened in their world and it’s not in an Alphas nature to share. I guess his possessiveness got to the point where it started giving me the ick.
I actually felt similar about Oscar and how possessive he was being. But then that scene of him and Isobel, when she asked him if he was jealous and he just quietly nodded? 😩 I melted. And him showing her his soft side won me over and now I literally love him.
As far as rankings go, this can obviously change since I’m only halfway through the series, but from best to worst these are my favs:
Kalen Moses Mikel Cian Niko Oscar Elijah Killian Gabriel Theodore
Jumping into book 4🫡 so excited but also dreading finishing this series and saying goodbye to these characters soon 😔
Geez, can I rave about Jane's writing any more than I already have? This book keeps you up at night saying just one more chapter! If you've read any of the prior books, you're already addicted to this storyline. Sauter definitely delivered on all the heat that was building in the first books! I can't wait to see where this goes!
