Just when I thought I couldn't love this series more, Dianna goes and writes one heck of a redemption arc for the most unlikely person.
Actually, she also wrote a small redemption arc for someone else, who had started changing their tune a few books back.
She also incorporated a big Scottish family which I absolutely LOVE as I am Scottish on my paternal side (third generation American...my great grandparents emigrated to the States from Scotland when my grandmother and her siblings were young). I like that she made sure to include Scottish talk as well. Does that sound right? Maybe, maybe not. Anyway, YAY FOR BEING SCOTTISH.
Grace still needs to learn to say no and not overextend herself. She lets everyone walk all over her and it's getting to be a bit tiresome seeing that happen. And she needs to quit second-guessing Cole. They've been together for nearly a year, are ENGAGED, and yet she is still afraid to let him in or listen to what he says.
There is one scene that is absolutely HILARIOUS. I woke up my dog and tried to explain to him why his Mimi was laughing so hard she was crying, but he just sighed at me and went back to sleep. Oh well.
There is only one book left in this series and I am so sad to see it come to an end. On to that!
This almost feels like the soaps + chicken soup- where there's new drama that crops up (in a b&b setting) and the lead female tries to handle each new obstacle while also not forgetting the good things she has in her life, especially the heartwarming moments with friends and family and those she meets. She def handles the ex better than I could've lol. It was sweet and cute, and everything it promised. It clearly states you need to read other books in the series (at least first two) so I knew going in that I'd be missing things. It's def more of a serial format than standalones, almost like a family monthly journal if you will. But I still enjoyed it, a wholesome b&b plus forgiveness and blessings. Just go in knowing there's going to be a lot going on, and def read the series in order.
Read whatever makes you happy! And then tell me about it lol.
They are hosting a Thanksgiving Experience American style!
Grace and Cole are planning for their upcoming wedding!
The people that are staying at the hotel are from Scotland. It just so happens Grace and her friend Rebekah’s ex boyfriend is staying at the hotel with his new girlfriend. Talk about drama!!
This series started giving me anxiety attacks. Too much on one person every time. And friends have not help. They just added on to it. Knowing she might not be able to do it, but did it anyway. Sorry the writing was good. But she Never gets a break. I am sure last book is the same or worse. I just can't finish it.
This is a great continuation of this wonderful series. Sweet Grace again has to plan an Experience, clean, plan menus, cook. And again the guests are far from pleasant. Add in the mud hole at the farm …. I,laughed out loud imaging it …. Well done Ms. Houx ! 🦃🦃🦃
Such a sweet story… loved this book!! A great series and I don’t know if it was just me but have a box of Kleenex handy!! It sure be nice if this series never ends!! These books are really great makes me wish I had a b&b ❤️
I've really enjoyed reading the Holiday Countdown series! Countdown to Thanksgiving comes with problems to solve before guests arrive at the hotel. Can Grace pull off another holiday full of activities and food for guests at the hotel?
