I loved the way this book unfolded. And I totally didn’t see the twists coming. This book is a really cool take on vampires and Greek mythology.

WHY IS NOBODY TALKING ABOUT THIS BOOK?!
This is easily one of the best vampire books I’ve read in a LONGggGGgg time. 🧛🏻♀️🩸
Somehow, this book manages to give me Twilight(vamps w/abilites) + Underworld(vibes) + mythology + Dan Brown(writing style + science/investigation)...
The vampire aspect gave me those Twilight vibes with the supernatural abilities, but it also had that darker, more adult vibes of Underworld....minus the werewolves. Then throw in ancient mythology..I LOVE MYTHOLOGY..so thank you. Then we got mysterious murders, deciphering ancient languages, investigation, and even a little science, which is where I can confidently say it gave me Dan Brown vibes.
The book isn't super long, but it flowed SO well. I never felt like the story was rushed or that I was missing something. The pacing was perfect!!
I also loved the whole investigation/mystery aspect. And the concept?! Ancient gods becoming what we now know as vampires?! I thought that was such a cool take on vampire mythology.
I genuinely cannot believe this book isn't being talked about more. PLEASE READ THIS.

This story was everything I expected and more. The concept of the ancient gods being the original vampires? Yes please.
The POV shifts back and forth between Wolf & Rafe and Isa & Lucian.
I loved how the authors writing made it easy to picture the entire storyline in my head like a movie lol.
The story does end on a cliffhanger and I’m READY for Book 2 🤪

What happens when a God, beings who are supposed to be immortal, is killed? This is but one question the protaganists in this first installment need to figure out.
SUMMARY: I went into this with minimal information and have been absolutely blown away. The mystery and intrigue surrounding the murders was enough to hook me, but couple that with the intricate creation and infrastructure of Gods surviving in modern times and you got a recipe for success! Great characters and a satisfying storyline meant that I read this in 3 sittings (roughly 3 days).
WHAT I LIKEDA:
First off I wanted to know which gods were which, what they did and how the operated. Then I wanted to know more about the powers and the covens. I wanted to know what the murders were about and what could make the gods scary and more importantly I wanted to know WHY. This book kept me hooked from the moment Isa met Lucian and they embarked on their journey.
WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE: I wracked my brain and I can only come up with one thing - Wolf's inner monologue and his internal struggle against the Aether felt a little emo and broody in the wrong kind of way. Having finished thie book, I know now WHY, but he still got on my tits a little.
VILLAIN: The least said here, the better. There are some satisfying reveals here and some that you can maybe guess at. So let this one work through you and enjoy it.
ROMANCE/SPICE: One explicit scene and some kissing/light yearning with a whole dollop of protective sentiments.
Summary: This book is ideal for fans of fantasy books that have more depth and plot. It reminds me a little of the depth of the books by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman but with a high stakes tension more common in high fantasy worlds today. I will ABSOLUTELY be finishing this trilogy/series.

This was so good! I don’t know how to describe this - a supernatural, contemporary murder mystery!?!
I think you are better off going in not knowing too much. I thoroughly enjoyed it and sped through it. I am usually an audio reader so the fact that I dedicated myself to the ebook speaks to the quality of the book. It had an unusual premise and I have to admit that I did not see the twists at the end.
Thankfully the next book in this duology comes out in a few days so I can find out what happened next soon.

Brilliant! Properly brilliant! A really clever tale mixing all the old gods together in one brand new take on mythology! Twists and turns a plenty and a big one at the end that I didn’t see coming! Need the next one pronto!

Wow! The way this story is developed is stunning. The twist and turns. The lies and deceptions. I went into this book completely blind, which I would highly recommend doing. I’m excited to read the second book.

I'm really glad I stumbled across the book on social media because I was hooked from the start! The plot was really interesting and I loved the mystery aspect and simultaneous investigations. The twists kept me hooked and I was eager to keep reading anytime I had a free moment.
I look forward to the second book and seeing where the story goes next!

HOOLLLYY CRAP! I love this author because she has a genius way of weaving stories. Like after reading Corvus I instantly adored this author, so when she came out with a story about the vampires being the ancient gods, I was instabtly hooked and bought it. I knew it was going to be good, BIT SHE IMPRESSED ME YET AGAIN, THIS IS NOT GOOD IT IS MAGNIFICENT. This isn’t your typical story about vampires, it talks about the ancient gods from multiple civilizations and brings them back with a modern twist, while retaining that old and mysterious vibe! She created complex characters that surprise you with all the twists and turns. And dont get me wrong the entire book is interesting but the last like 70 pages HELLOOO!??!!?? Like I could barely keep up with all the plit twists and revelations!!! This book is like nothing you have read before! You have mythical creatures, gods, complex but steamy love dynamics, and soo much lore! The only thing I dont like about this book is that it is not long enough! I dont care what book trope or genre you like, it is almost a given that you will like this book! This is the type of book that you keep thinking about days later and think of all the easter eggs Sofi left that should have been obvious but were and weren’t at the same time. Can’t recommend this book enough 10000/10!!!!

An Echo of Oblivion is the first book in The Fragmented Series by Sofi Aguilera.
This is the first book I read from this author and let me tell you it’s certainly not the last one, I want to read all her other books (and the ones to come - especially Book 2 in this series).
I really really LOVED this book. It was such a fun read. I love the book cover, it’s SO beautiful.
This book has everything I love in a book : (murder) mystery, plot twists, slow burn, vampires, fantasy, ends on a cliffhanger.
I liked the mixed between Greek/Egyptian mythology and the fantasy world (vampires), it was an interesting choice for a storyline. I haven’t read any vampires mixed with Greek mythology book before, but I love this.
Also, I love the fact that the storyline was separated in different parts, it really fits with the mystery aspect of the book. As a reader, I felt like I was part of the investigation process that was happening in the book.
I read this book in 2 days. From the dedication to the end, I couldn’t put this book down. This book got me at the edge of my seat. And I didn’t see the twists coming.
And THAT ending… I need Book 2 right now (please!), because of the cliffhanger at the end (it left me on read). I NEED to know what happens next!
If you like multiple POVs, Greek/Egyptian mythology, murder mystery, fantasy, vampires, twists and slow burn, this book is for you. I highly recommend reading this book.

Gods are real, they have lived among us for thousands of years. Of course, we know them by many, many other names... including vampires.
After graduation, Isa realizes that there aren't a lot of job opportunities for experts in ancient languages, like Egyptian, Latin and Attic Greek. So when she gets the opportunity to translate for a mysterious stranger and his partners, she jumps at the chance to do something other than move back in with her parents. Of course, she quickly finds out that she is transcribing the clues from multiple murders and helping her boss, Lucien Holt, a private detective track a serial killer. Of course, as she draws closer and closer to the killer, she learns that all is not what it seems.
This book was filled with twists and turns that I did not see coming. . The author did an incredible job of combining legend and lore from around the world to create a society where Gods and Goddesses never really left. However, what was truly exquisite was how the author was able to weave a tapestry of lies and intrigue where nothing is truly as it seems, and everything is subject to change in an instant. The world-building was incredible and the author kept me guessing at every turn. I can't wait to read the next installment.

The multiple POVs added a unique twist, leaving me questioning whether I was reading two storylines coming together or jumping between past and present. With characters changing names and prophetic dreams blurring the lines between past, present, and future, I was constantly trying to piece it all together.
I loved the god-themed storyline and uncovering the identities, connections, and history as the secrets started coming to light. There was always another piece of the puzzle to uncover.

The story follows Isa as she is employed by a private investigator to help solve murders. That’s it, all I can tell you because the twists and surprises are everything! Just know Isa is way tougher than she looks.
The story is original and pacing was perfect. I gobbled this up.

Es un placer haber vuelto a leer una obra de Sofi, a quien conozco desde hace más de cinco años y a quien he tenido el gusto de ver crecer en su carrera literaria, que ha evolucionado mucho desde que publicó 'The Paragon' en 2018. Este nuevo libro, que da comienzo a la serie de 'The Fragmented', se adentra en un nuevo misterio sobrenatural que amenaza con sacudir al mundo entero. Con una premisa creativa, un amplio repertorio de mitologías y culturas antiguas, y más de un giro en la trama, esta serie se posiciona como la segunda gran saga de Sofi Aguilera junto con 'Star Blood'. Me entusiasma mucho saber qué vendrá después. ¡Lo recomiendo ampliamente!

I loved how this book took hold of me, the play on ancient gods, goddess’, titans and primordials from multiple different mythology origins and so seamlessly done at that.
Greek mythology has always had a special place in my heart and I really did love this spin. The mystery and the suspense, even with knowing a lot about mythology I could’ve even guess where things were going and its definitely made me want to study some more Egyptian mythology.
The characters were all written so well and kept me wanting more from them, wanting to know
Their secrets and what they were holding back.
That ending though 🫣 damn, I can’t wait to read the next book because I’m still stunned by it ending right there !

WHY HAS THIS BOOK NOT BLOWN UP ALREADY?!? 😵 The plotting is an absolute masterpiece. The twist and turns - what the actual f*ck! Every time I thought I knew how the story would unfold, the whole thing just took a 360. The POV shifts, and you don’t know who the villain is until the very last pages.
Only tiiiiny negative was some spell errors, (or rather words that I think were supposed to be deleted in editing but wasn’t?), that had me questioning the book at the very start. But the story very quickly had me sucked in, so never mind that. It was also only in the very first pages, I believe.
The mix of greek, egyptian, norse mythology and vampires: chef’s kiss 😘🤌🏼
Need book 2 now!

Ok so first off. It didn’t take me a month to read this book! It took me only a few days because holy Hades (see what I did there Miss Sofia?!! 😆😆😆) THIS WAS FREAKING AMAZING!!!! My gosh I haven’t read a vampire meets mythology ever and this was so cool!!! No spoilers. But let me tell you. THAT CLIFFHANGER and the last mmmmmm 6 chapters. Will have you screaming “WHAT THE HECK??! No wait did I read that right?!! Oh hell no! “ I’m literally telling yall. Yall HAVE TO READ THIS!!! Chef’s kiss 💋 Angela stamp of approval. I need more. I need more! So good! And finally. FINALLY. … oh wait… no spoilers from me… GO READ THIS BOOK! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

This was such an incredible blend of fantasy, mystery, thriller and the supernatural!
The story is split between two pairs of characters, following them along the same timeline.
First, we have two men trying to solve the murder of their own kind, despite the fact that they’re supposed to be indestructible!
Then we have a detective who hires an ancient language translator to uncover why these murders are happening.
There was such a mix of intrigue throughout, and I was constantly left wanting to read quicker so I could get to the answers!
This was one of those books that I couldn’t stop thinking about once I put it down, and I couldn’t wait to pick it back up again.

Vampires mixed with Greek mythology, couldn’t ask for more.
Really enjoyed the detective aspect mixed with the vampire lore and Greek mythology, really fun, and unique. Really haven’t read anything like this.
Multiple POVs which I felt was super important for this type of story to make the plot flow correctly.
I enjoyed getting to know all the characters and see the story through more than one of their perspectives.
Ended on a cliffhanger and I cannot wait for book two!!!

Where do I even begin with this book?!!
It completely pulled me in and refused to let me go. From the very beginning, I was captivated by the atmosphere, the characters and the way the story slowly unfolded. A fantastic mix between Vampires and Greek Gods!! There’s something so beautifully haunting about this book—it lingers in your mind long after you’ve turned the final page.
The characters were absolutely everything. I found myself becoming so invested in their journey that I genuinely didn’t want the story to end. The tension and the twists I definitely was not expecting!!
Sofi Aguilera has created a world that feels immersive and atmospheric, with a story that manages to be both beautiful and devastating. There were moments where I was holding my breath, moments where my heart was breaking, and moments where I just had to put the book down for a second and process what I’d read.
And that ending?! I AM NOT OKAY.
I cant wait to read book two!!!

As a linguistics nerd who geeks out over mythology and urban fantasy, An Echo of Oblivion by Sofi Aguilera was a genuinely enchanting 3 out of 5 stars read.
Sofi Aguilera’s world-building is brilliant. I loved the concept of Isa using her skills in Attic Greek, Latin, and ancient Egyptian to track a killer. The way the story weaves together dark, atmospheric detective work with deep mythological lore and complex vampire covens felt so incredibly fresh. The writing itself is quite lyrical and smart—you can tell how much thought went into making the historical and linguistic details feel authentic. Lucian Holt is exactly the kind of brooding, mysterious detective you want to follow into a dark alleyway, and the underlying mystery truly kept me guessing.
It is a beautifully written urban fantasy with a ton of potential. It leaves off on a massive cliffhanger that absolutely makes me want to see what happens next in the series!

I wasn’t sure what to expect when taking on this read. Vampires and mythology… I don’t know much about mythology so I had to ask or look up some. It’s not only Greek but also Norse, Egyptian, Irish and a few others that I had never even heard about. The twists and mystery of this book keeps you guessing right up to the very end. I’m impatiently waiting book 2 release in October. I’m still trying to figure out who Wolf is, god or demigod…

Gods, vampires, ancient text, murder, and a mystery so compelling you won’t be able to put this book down.
As the gods began to loose their youth and strength, they discovered that drinking blood restores their youthfulness and strength; that is how Vampires were created. An unknown entity, has nepharious plans to kill the gods, getting rid of them for all time… but who?
An Echo of Oblivion has two storylines which merge into one; Isa and Lucian and Wolf and Rafe . I did find it confusing to flip back and forth between POV, until about half way through the book where the two individual stories begin to merge. At this point, there were a couple of things that were predictable, and others that were shocking! I loved how the authors descriptive detail immersed me deeply in the story. The confusion Isa feels, love, and concern for others were constantly conveyed throughout the book. I enjoyed how the lore of the gods and the ancient languages and names were woven so well into the story.
Overall a wonderful read. I can’t wait for the next one to come out! 📖

The story unfolded in a totally unexpected way. The twists were very unpredictable.
It was an amazing original take on Greek mythology and vampire, that you would never guess unless you read it.

Absolute Perfection! Next-level amazing.
I was completely immersed in this story from the very first page! An Echo of Oblivion delivers an incredible, unique spin on classic vampire tropes by seamlessly crossing vampires with gods. The world-building is rich, creative, and completely refreshing.
The plot twists and underlying mystery kept me guessing the entire time and were executed phenomenally. Sofi Aguilera has crafted a truly brilliant, gripping start to The Fragmented series. I am officially obsessed and absolutely cannot wait for Book 2! Highly, highly recommend.

I thought this book was underrated, and I’m surprised more people aren’t talking about it.
I liked the original take on the gods/vampires aspect, it was a somewhat original take on a mythological creature.
I also really liked the murder mystery and intrigue, it definitely kept me on my toes and made me keep reading well past bedtime.
I can’t wait for the next installment in the series to come out

Murder mystery meets war of the gods meets hidden identity. With vampires.
I really enjoyed this! The first half of the book was murder mystery and it evolved to warring gods and saving the human FMC. The variety in the story was great and kept it interesting. That plot twist though!!
It didn't evoke any big emotions from me, but still I was engaged and invested in the story. Looking forward to the next in the series!

Gods, Vampires, humans mixed with some detective work.
OK, so I wasn’t sure what to expect from this book. There’s multiple stories happening in unison and they all meet up at one point.
I thought that this story was very interesting with lots of twists and turns lots of unpredictable moments. I recommend this if you’re into a fun read that has a mystery vibe to it in solving crimes.
