Cauldrons & Characters

Rate this book
Rory and her magical family are almost ready for the holiday season, but the preparations have an unexpected interruption when one of Rory’s Aunt Candace’s book characters walks right out of the pages.

And then, to complicate matters, he’s the first to discover a dead body at the local karaoke club.

As if defending a fictional character against a murder accusation isn’t enough, Rory also has to contend with someone spreading rumours that might lead to the library’s deepest secrets being exposed to the vampires hunting her family. Can she and the others stop a dangerous killer and protect their home… or have they all reached the end of their story?

not great

I find the characters not very likable. The main character seems lost and unsure in anything she does. Most of the other people in her family are selfish, pouty, and just all round blah. It’s an ok series to just skip thru but not one to hold attention.

I've read all of the books currently published in this series and while I enjoyed it, I'm ready to be done. The major drama in this book is the presence of a vampire who is actually a character that Aunt Candace has conjured out of one of her own novels. Not only is he not real, he is also accused of murder. The question becomes, can a fictional character be tried and convicted of murder in the real world. At this point in the series, the characters are becoming flat and much too predictable. Sylvester remains aloof and mean-spirited most of the time, Aunt Candace is about as self-centered as someone can be and Cass refuses to be involved in most of the dealings of the family. Despite Rory's feelings that the family is so close knit, it seems as if the only people who care about its future are Rory, Estelle, Aunt Adelaide and Laney who is not actually related.

I enjoyed reading another installment of this series. I do feel Rory went backwards with this mystery. Over and over they kept puzzling over and stating what they thought of Jaxon and never bothered to investigate anyone or anything else especially the weird potions that they smelled on Rory’s clothes even the next day. Even the bartender needing a sound proof spell for his own bar didn’t get another mention. It is odd nobody including the police met with the bar’s owner after the first murder.

I don’t understand how they even ran the library with only Estelle and her Mom helping out. Candace is the worst aunt and sister and Cass only deals with magical creatures and it is odd they don’t have somewhere to be released in the wild to.

It was also odd the Grim Reaper was not immediately notified that the vampires have potions that work on Reapers.

Be Careful What You Wish For

Aunt Candace wished for one of her characters, a vampire, to come out of his book. But then folks in town started dying. Is Aunt Candace’s creation to blame, or are more sinister forces at work? And what was Evangeline’s relationship to Rory’s grandmother? There’s only one book left in the series, Elle, so you better get everything tied together! An absolute must read for the Elle Adams fan! 👍

I really do love this series and can't wait til the next one comes out. It is such a great cozy paranormal Mystery. The characters are well thought out and well written, the storyline is wonderful, the read is easy and flowing. I can't recommend this series any higher. Start with book one and you will be hooked.

Great series

I didn't know what to expect when I started this series, but I have not been disappointed.

I was able to read the 15 currently available in a row but now have to wait for the next.

Can't wait to see what happens next. I love that its an on going situation, with no huge gaps in the timeline.

Excellent Series

I just finished all 15 books of the "A Library Mystery" series by Ellie Adams and I thoroughly enjoyed all of them. When I finished on I couldn't wait to start the next. I highly recommend the series.

Another fun read.

Cauldron & Characters, book 15 in the Library Witch Mystery series, is another fun read. I wonder what the Library is going to throw at Rory and her family in the next book!

I think this is the best installment yet. Lots of action and a beginning to tie all the story lines together. I couldn’t put it down once I started reading it.

Excellent!

Fast paced and will keep you guessing right up to the end. This story weaves around everyone and with it twists and turns it all comes together at the end.

Vampire and karaoke

Candace brings a vampire character from one of her books to life, to be her boyfriend. This doesn't go well.
