A book influencer who was reluctant to read my book in the first place, had DM'd me saying she "didn't expect to be laughing out loud like this!" She named scenes like the phone prank, the fight at the first wedding, the Salsa dance-partner-swap scene in Punta Cana; the club scene in the chapter titled NOT BALLS, and then there's a few funny scenes with Tahj and Fletcher's stuttering friend Keenan that caught her off guard.
This is a complete six part series, so the book description is too small of a space to convey how dynamic this book is. You won't feel sorry for Tahj. She was teased as a child, but due to the influence of her mother, the very colorful and funny Letha-May Thompson, Tahj has always felt beautiful and she inherited her mother's top-tier skills at the dozens. Tahj is a successful fashion model, and she is as confident as they come, even while she's well aware of bias in the fashion industry, and how society seems to favor women of a lighter hue.
I do not write to prove a point, nor to preach; I write to ENTERTAIN. The word colorism isn't mentioned not once in the entire book. If you've read any of my previous eight novels, you would know that, not only is main drama thick, unpredictable, and hard-hitting, but so are the subplots generated by the colorful supporting cast. The subject matter - like colorism, in this case - only provides the pressure-cooker that makes the plot go, and adds depth to the wildness that is sure to ensue.
Be prepared not only to laugh, but to ride the full rainbow of emotions. Thank you for taking a peek at this wonderful book, and I pray that you give it a shot. Happy reading! Rod Palmer
