My Good Girl 2
Journal was separated from her brother and sister at the age of six. For years, she had this image of what she thought her oldest sister, and oldest brother lifestyle might have been like moving past the day that they were both adopted. After a conversation with Harmony after all these years, she already knows that her life was nowhere near as perfect as Journal made it out to be. Here Journal is now, faced to face with her brother, but she gets the surprise of a lifetime, upon finding out about her brothers transition. All Journal wants is to have the perfect relationship with her siblings, and to make up for the years of lost time, but does everyone want that?
A new face is added to the scene and his name is Grady Joseph. Grady is the man that Harmony has been seeing for the past year. There seems to be some sort of built up animosity that Grady has towards Genesis. Can that built up animosity be the reason why Journal and Harmony’s relationship may take a turn for the worst?

I can back a year and a half later and consumed it via audiobook due to it being a buddy read.
Since it was audio, the grammatical errors didn’t matter. The storyline was good. I still hate that “Dada” bs though. 🤢

DNF at 36% so I will not rate.
I really wanted to know how Journal and Genesis’ relationship would have developed. I also was very intrigued by her relationships with her siblings and (potentially) their birth mother. Winnie? How was that going to be handled.
But, overall there are way too many grammatical errors to finish this story. Using “your” instead of “you’re”, the excessive amount of run-on sentences, etc. really ruined the flow of the book for me.
Also, Journal calling Genesis “Da-da” is VERY weird.

PREDICTABLE
it was okay but everything went exactly how I imagined. Only real mystery is who them boys in Atlanta is that Bryani did dirty, I thought it might be tied back into Hakeem and his crew but I guess not. I’m also not feeling Journal being pregnant and not doing nothing. Like you introduced her as a naive girl and she stayed that in this story too soo. I mean she said she could’ve got into college but chose to follow dusty hakeem so the pattern is her being D*ck dizzy at every turn??? 🍅🍅🍅Where was her growth? Do she have any hobbies like she’s one dimensional af. I also wonder how Slick gonna explain to his “mom” that his new brother killed one of her kids? Like I have the sneaking suspicion that Grady killed Silas and not Cyrus but hopefully the author don’t go that route.

Okayyyyy, let’s get into it because book two wasted NO time. We jump right in with my girl Journal and my man Genesis living their best life on vacation in the Bahamas — and babyyyy they were outside AND inside 🤭. These two together are just so damn cute. I love how Journal has Genesis breaking all his rules and stepping outside of his usual controlled self. The softness he shows her? Yeah… I’m eating that up every time.
Journal being a little crybaby actually grew on me this book 😂. Growing up in foster care forced her to always be strong and guarded, so seeing her finally feel safe enough to be vulnerable and express her emotions however she needs to? Beautiful to witness. Even though Genesis had me CRYING laughing when he asked her if her head hurt from all the crying she was doing 🤣. Sir is tired but still locked in.
I absolutely loved seeing Journal and Harmony’s relationship continue to grow. They have so much history and healing ahead of them, but watching that sister bond form felt really special. There’s nothing like sisterhood, and I’m glad they’re getting that second chance at building something real together. Now if only Bryani would come around… I’m honestly worried about her. She’s carrying so much guilt and fear, and I really hope she allows her sisters to be there for her before things go too far.
Now let’s talk about the FAMILY DRAMA because whew 😮💨. The whole situation with Genesis, Cyrus, and the lies Stitches has been telling?? Yeah… something ain’t adding up and I need answers ASAP. I’m side-eyeing the entire story about Genesis’s birth mother because we already know Stitches hasn’t been fully truthful from the beginning. And Cyrus? That man is moving reckless as hell and is going to bring everybody down with him if somebody doesn’t check him soon. The revelation about his involvement with Grady’s brother honestly didn’t even shock me.
Speaking of Grady, I liked seeing him and Genesis finally have that intense conversation — because baby, the tension in that scene?? Whewww. Needed. I do feel like the truth about him and Winnie is going to come back around and cause bigger problems though, because honesty would’ve saved everybody a headache.
And now my girl Journal is pregnant 😭🥹 which means the emotional rollercoaster is only about to get wilder — and considering she already cries over EVERYTHING, Genesis better prepare himself 😂.
This book definitely comes with some heavy themes, so please check trigger warnings: mentions of suicide and parental drug addiction.
My only real criticism is that some parts of the plot felt a little repetitive. We were reminded of certain situations and emotions multiple times in ways that didn’t always feel necessary, and it slowed the pacing just a bit for me. But honestly, that’s my only gripe.
Overall, I’m still locked ALL the way in with this series. The romance is soft, the drama is messy in the best way, and the character dynamics keep me invested.
Running straight to book 3 because I need answers immediately.

The most clingiest FMCs
I think Journal got on my nerves this book. Why would she nick name Slick “Da Da” for one, that ish is just weird. She cried pretty much about everything and she was too damn clingy to Slick. I am glad that her and Harmony are starting to develop a relationship. Harmony’s reasoning for not trying to find her siblings with the platform that she has as a celebrity was kind of weak. Even with everything that she went through in her childhood, this was because of her parents not because of her siblings, so why take it out on them. Also, Grady’s reasoning for gunning for Slick is crazy. Grady’s 16 year old brother killed himself with a gun purchased at Slick’s store using a fake ID so, Slick is the one he has beef with?! I just didn’t understand the logic in that. This series started out strong but is beginning the water down just a bit. I think it may be lacking a bit of character development but now so much so where I will not continue out the series. I am still intrigued on what happens next. I will rate this 3 stars!

Good story POOR EDITING
I love Diamond’s stories, but the writing and editing are not improving. ‘Your’ instead of ‘you’re’ , ‘quite’ instead of ‘quiet’, commas everywhere but where they should be, and so many more errors throughout the book. It’s becoming difficult to read without having to re-read multiple time to understand what she’s trying to convey.

Book two was longer than necessary. I got pretty bored and annoyed somewhere around 60% through.
Journal’s character became very predictable in this book. Every time something happened she was going to cry, faint, or go to sleep. It was cool that she was able to begin creating a bond with her sister but that was about it. I’m still upset how her sister Harmony made her out to look like a fool during their first encounter. Oh, and can we stop allowing Journal to go into restrooms alone? I swear everything bad in this world happens to her while in the restroom.
I also kinda feel like Genesis is a mind manipulator when it comes to women. He used Winnie as a place holder until something better came along, and now he wants Journal to be at home pregnant and barefoot with no direction or goals in life…just sit there and look pretty baby!
I’ll probably continue into the third book of the series mainly out of curiosity rather than desire. Oh and one last thing, the side characters were a bit more entertaining than the main ones lol.
Overall I give this book a 2.5 outta 5 stars.

Really Journal???
Man, Journal and all of that crying worked my last nerves. All she did was sleep and cry the whole book. What’s so attractive about that? Then “Slick,” is not a real gansta. Who lets their enemies get the one up on them? Even I know that you always tie up loose ends. The what’s with Journal and all these secrets she keep trying to keep from her man? Then lastly, between Slick and Grady, they should have enough connections to help the girls find Bryani.

The story/plot was good and kept me engaged. There were plot twists in there that I wasn’t expecting until the clues came up, so that made for a good read.
The typos and overall mistakes are still just as terrible and disruptive as book one. It really takes away from smooth reading. Examples:
- “I could vouge for him”
- “…not knowing enough about puppies to know what kind of bread he was”
The author mixed up Harmony’s and Briyani’s names for a whole page or page and a half.
Also, “Da da” as a pet name is 🤮 yuck. Never saw that before and never need to see that again in another book.
I was also over Journal being overly infantile. Like girl you not only crying over every single thing, but the whining too? Please enough. Soft girl era don’t mean we gotta be an overgrown baby though.

Okay this was messy! Grady- you trying to rap to Winnie only to get info on Slick was messy! And then you have Harmony all in love so ish will hit the fan when y’all go public. Now how the long lost sisters both get with long lost brothers??? Double cousins when they all start having kids! Love the relationship they’ve developed. Biryani baby I feel like there is a way more to what happened. I hope that you feel safe with your sisters to share what happened and let their men help you.
I love that Journal is entering her soft girl era but why aren’t you letting her pursue her dreams of college? I don’t like her being this lovesick girl. Please enroll that girl in school or at least give her a business. I also hate that Da-Da. It’s not a term of endearment.

I am giving it 2 stars because it was so slow. Everytime Journal said "Dada" Chile! Diamond, couldn't come up with a better nickname? It just dragged on. I think there is too mich emphasis on non-essential characters in the book and very wordy. Meaning, I got in the car and placed my dinner; chicken, mashed potatoes and green beans that had been set aside from me by Stitches" Just say you got in the car with your food. You had already established what was for dinner before. And naturally when you get in a car you put your food in the floor board. Just too much.
I am going to read the 3rd book. But this really didn't need to be a 3 book series. It could have easily been 1 book.

I had fun reading book 1 but book 2 was not it for me. Journal came off as a girl that got things done & although sensitive was still strong. In book 2 she was whining & a crybaby the whole book especially around Slick. I did want to find out about all the drama and stories regarding Journal & Slicks backstories with their siblings but I don’t think I’ll continue to book 3. The cherry on top was the cringy nickname Da-da she had for him also…

Ok 3.5 stars. I get that Journal is a good girl with very little life experience but all that crying and then calling Genesis Da-Da was too much. It made her more aggy and child like but the Da-Da part was cringe.

I wanted to get through this series, but the book is soooo boring. The first installment was ok interesting enough to get through, but this second part is absolutely driving me insane. This author put sooo much fluff in her books that a really good storyline turns boring because there is just too many words. It’s almost like she’s trying to meet a word count for the book. I believe I read another story of her before and it was the same issue. Too many unimportant things being added to the book, too many descriptions it makes for a really bad read. AND FOR PETES SAKE IT’S “Quiet” not “QUITE” omg the first time I thought it was a mistake but it had never been corrected out of the whole book. It’s so annoying. On top of that Journal has no ambition at all for her life. Her only goal at first was to get a car and then her own place, but now that she’s getting it all handed to her that’s it. Her character has not once expressed any kind of goals she wants to meet for herself she adds NOTHING to this series. She actually becoming unlikable, and China still is a horrible mother which makes her character unlikable and why does she even have chapters? I mean I guess I won’t find out because I didn’t even make it through the Bahamas trip, between the whole scenario with the dude grabbing journal’s butt (because she just had to be a damsel even outta the country, and now slick gotta show that he’s Superman 🙄🙄🙄) and dude that wanna get Slick for his brother unaliving himself I was over it. His reasoning was dumb asl. Anyway I won’t be reading any more of this authors books. She doesn’t know how to edit down and it’s too boring.

GIRL. So listen… the author picked up EXACTLY where she left us in Book 1 and apparently decided peace was never an option. 😂
Journal is finally coming out of that timid, stuck place we met her in, her relationship with Slick is growing, and she’s reconnecting with pieces of the family she lost as a child. Meanwhile, Slick has some family mess of his OWN unfolding and baby… everybody’s family tree got secrets!
One thing I really enjoyed was realizing how much Journal and Slick actually mirror each other. Both were separated from their biological families, both carried that into adulthood differently, and now they’re discovering things about their pasts while trying to build something together.
BUT let me toot my own horn real quick because your girl was paying attention! 😂 The author started dropping little breadcrumbs and I picked them RIGHT on up. I called two pretty big reveals before they happened and was sitting there like, “I KNEW IT!” when everything finally came together. And that’s what made the twists good—they weren’t just thrown in for shock value. Once things were revealed, I could look back and see exactly what she had been setting up.
Now…the ending.

Journal has been thru a journey of life ups and downs and tough brakes in her young life. She meets and falls Genesis and her life has changed for the better. Now Journal is pregnant with her and Genesis first child. Genesis has recently found out the his biological mother didn't leave him in the dumpster . Stiches should have told him the truth about his biological mother I get she was trying to protect him from being hurt. Cyrus is doing to much and his down fall has cameback to bite him in the tail. Harmony is in love with Grady Joseph and haven't put a title on their relationship. Slick finds out his biological mother is on drugs and Grady maybe his brothers and find out his younger brother Psalms committed sucide . Winnie has paid back the money she took. This book took a different turn than I expected it to!!!…I knew something was going to happen to Hakeem and Cyrus, but I didn’t expect them to get by the nug!!!…
My heart broke for Journal, because all she wanted was her 2 siblings back together so that they can build their bond!!!…
Stitches did what she was suppose to do, but I was shocked that she made up the story about how she got Genesis and then to deny she didn’t know his mother!!!…I get her protection, but the fact that he was asking and she kept that secret, I’m sure is why Genesis is angry!!!…
I hope their mother does get herself together so that she can build her relationship with her sons!!!…
I can’t wait to see what is next!!!…

This book took a different turn than I expected it to!!!…I knew something was going to happen to Hakeem and Cyrus, but I didn’t expect them to get by the nug!!!…
My heart broke for Journal, because all she wanted was her 2 siblings back together so that they can build their bond!!!…
Stitches did what she was suppose to do, but I was shocked that she made up the story about how she got Genesis and then to deny she didn’t know his mother!!!…I get her protection, but the fact that he was asking and she kept that secret, I’m sure is why Genesis is angry!!!…
I hope their mother does get herself together so that she can build her relationship with her sons!!!…
I can’t wait to see what is next!!!…

Absolutely Amazing Read
Slick kept his word and took excellent care of Journal. He didn't want a hair out of place when it came to her. She was the first woman, other than family to have his heart. Journal was so innocent. Her meeting Bryani shocked her, but also brought her happiness. She loved Genesis, wasn't ashamed of showing how much. Their chemistry was so undeniable. They would show their love anywhere. China kept Journal out of her head. Having her friendship was a definite plus. Slick was trying to handle all business so that Journal could be his main focus. Journal and Harmony deserved the happiness they were receiving from one another after years of being separated. They just had to continue to pray for Bryani. Can't wait to read part three!

Okay here me out lol. The first book came out swinging but unfortunately this book was just meh 3.5
Journal calling Genesis Da-Da is cringey AF! It even dumbs down her character a little. I was rooting for her to finally get her ish together since you are getting upgraded! Like Girl.. have him pay for school so you can make your own money just in case..smh! Like what goals do you have Sis besides being clingy AF! I do understand that her past definitely plays a part in her crybaby behavior but come on ISh!!!! She couldn’t even go a full week in Texas without this man.. after crying about your missing siblings!! Bffr smh
I do love how Genesis treats Journal. Hopefully she gains a backbone after her baby is born!

Didn’t disappoint
Well here we are in Book 2. The crew is back and things are continuing to build up. Journal and Slick got some exciting news that they are both happy with, China and Ferrell are still kicking it strong, but some new players are entering the scene. Journal long lost sister is back and it seems she has the best intentions and here also come the one thing that Slick always wanted, blood family. But with this family comes death, deception and murder. Will Slick be loyal to the wrong side or will he pick a new squad. Can’t wait for the ride from Book 3. So please book 3 me already!!

a excellent read
Diamond D You did it well with this book Genesis found out So many secrets about his real mother .. In the icing on the cake He’s not knowing until now his brother is Grady who is dating Harmony who’s genesis girlfriend, Journal sister .. This is going to be a nice reunion between Brothers Genesis and Grady and harmony and journal are sisters.. Journal is now pregnant with Genesis baby. He’s will allow his brother Grady run the business. Genesis is definitely ready to retire from the streets in Marry journal and live a happy life. Can’t wait to book 3. Please 2025.

Another good read. Again there is a lot in this book that's so coincidental and predictable that it makes it kind of silly. I can get over it though, but the connections that these people have, finding this person and finding that person, it was a lot. Talking about 7° of separation!! Lol!
It didn't make the book bad by any means it was actually a really good read. just stop with the predictability. I'm not sure who the third book is about because I'm not interested in hearing Harmony and Grady's story. So that will determine if I book 3. But I will for sure read more by this author.

Loving it
For some while reading, I just knew that Grady and Slick were brothers. Why I feel like Stitches had something to do with Slick momma Missy being on heavy drugs because she probably wanted him back, and Stitches didn't want to give him back. I don't feel bad for Hakeem nor Cyrus because they knew the consequences while going against Slick. I wonder if Stitches gone feel like Slick killed Cyrus and if she would have beef with him. So many questions, I can't wait to figure out the answers.

Good Read!
I definitely enjoyed part 2 of this series more secrets are revealed and Journal and Harmony started developing their relationship. Journal is definitely a sensitive character but I think that’s what makes her unique. She clearly loved hard and wants everyone around her to feel that love. Genesis finding out more about his family history and those secrets that Stitches kept from him was unfortunate, but I can understand why she did it. Can’t wait to read book 3 to see how this all ties together.

Harmony and Journal bonding after all the childhood trauma was everything but why is Brianie with the shits! Now my handsome man Slick finally finds out some truth about his past but to find out harmony’s man may be his brother is the icing. Ms. Diamond why are you making us wait for all this tea because I need to know what is Missy going to do now and will the family forgive Slick for his decision to give up Syrus.
