The Vipers and Their Vendetta: A Dark College Bully Romance

Rate this book
I’m the poison running through their veins, and they’ll never let me go…

The biggest mistake I ever made was thinking that once I started this game with the Vipers, I could end it.
I’m reeling from what I’ve learned about my sister.
She’s the reason I ran… But she’s also the reason I can’t leave.
I need to know the truth, but now I’m a target… of them.
The Vipers and their anger. The Vipers and their mistrust…The Vipers and their twisted desire to punish me.
They want me and crave me despite it all, and they make me burn anew for them, until I’m drowning in their sensual world of decadence and pain.
Things are changed, though, since I ran. They’re so much more dangerous now.
As their games become more twisted, so does our desire.
Yet still, despite the heat between us, their vendetta rages against me, against their enemies, against the entire world.
Saint is casually cruel, and beautifully seductive. Lex is the one who always drags me back into their wicked games.
And Zane? He’s the scarred, silent terror that invades my nightmares, and fuels my heated dreams.
The three of them demand I give them everything. They are no longer content with just my body. They want my heart, and my soul too.
I’ll shield them as much as I can, but I won’t give up until I know the truth…
And the truth might be what undoes us all.

DNF. I’m shelving this. I was so excited to see where this story went but it’s 100% not holding my attention nor is it holding up to the 1st part. I made it 61% and that was a struggle.

I liked Vani in the 1st book (you can see from my review of it) but she’s acting like a completely different person in this one.

As for the sex? In the 1st book it all seemed completely consensual and hot but this one has it coming off as (for lack of a better word) dirty and extremely non-con (and not in the hot CNC way dark romances usually frame it). This culminated when Reading the scene in the mansion I felt like I was watching something I shouldn’t be seeing.

In short, whereas their interactions previously had been hot, this felt like her being reduced to nothing more than 3 holes.

Maybe it gets better but I’ve lost interest in finding out the secrets and revealing the mystery.

Early in the book, Saint starts to wonder if she is dumb. She is so dumb. It is painful.

Everyone making incorrect assumptions, saying to themselves they are probably wrong, then acting on those assumptions is also dumb. And impossible to read.

The fake friend, which we all know. The one person who was in a similar situation as her, but she never talks to. The truth-telling session where instead of asking about the notes, she instead decides to cosplay The Dating Game. The ill advised revenge, which in any other situation would be considered a highly personal, unforgivable betrayal.

Not every romantic grouping needs to be 3 books, and this infuriating filler of a middle book where only 2, maybe 3 things actually happen, did not need to exist.

This trilogy should have been a tighter duet instead. I am so disgusted right now I am not sure I can read any more of these.

She is so unbelievably stupid that it is unreal. That was at 86%. I wanted to update after finishing, she's still ridiculously stupid and so are all 3 of the men. They none have any redeemable qualities.

The heat, the deception, the mystery! This book has it all!

What a fabulous book 2 in this trilogy!!! there’s so much heat and chemistry between Vani and Zane, Saint and Lex! The authors do an incredible job of making you root for broken, terrifying men. They are so delicious! I love their obsession withVani, and there is so much deception in mystery going on at Verona Falls. I cannot wait until book 3 (technically 6)!!!

i love the plot of this series overall and i'm an avid dark romance reader and i've read tons of cnc but this genuinley just seemed sneaky and unconsensual overall and there wasn't really much relationship development. Also the mc really needs to learn how to stick up for herself, like girl you're from the 1%'s you should be able to shout at a grown man and learn how to say no?

Check your triggers… Some moments I really didn’t like

I literally hate read this series 🤣 I don’t like these books, I don’t like bully romance (especially ones this extreme) yet I NEEEEEEED to find out how it ends! There is a mystery so I need to know what happened to the sister, what’s going to happen with the guys now that Jarl is in back… and I need to know when these four will finally stop being annoying and just communicate already! Ughhhh so frustrating 😩

And finally… can we just not have a why choose and stick with Zane 💔

Cliffhangers… they always get ya!

A lot of the plot points just don't work . . .

unless the female lead is stupider than a box of rocks. A lot of the rationalizations the female lead Ivani makes are just such a stretch -- they're not rational, and it makes more sense to believe the opposite of what she's trying to talk herself into. In fact, the mental gymnastics she goes through to rationalize things is idiotic, and it doesn't make sense. Then there's the fact that she has zero loyalty, like seriously zero. The minute she meets Olson she takes his word over her mother's, over a lifetime of her mother's care and love -- the minute the guy her mother warned her was an evil psycho says something bad about her mother, Ivani doubts everything she knows about her mom everything she should have faith and loyalty to her mother's memory at least, but no, she has zero loyalty, zero. It's like she didn't even know the woman and just so easily throws her memory under the bus, accepting the lamest excuse about some lost heirloom necklace. Anybody could have seen her father wearing the necklace in person or in photographs, newspaper stories, whatever, and made up a story about it knowing where it came from. After all, her father is an infamous biker MC president, surely everybody would know where he got the necklace, so Olson made up a story, and she believes it so easily rather than what she knows her mother first hand from having lived with her her entire life. I get that she doesn't want her father going to war but her keeping all of this from him and having conversations with his possible enemies without telling him what's going on is a betrayal of everything her mother and father have done to protect her, so she has no loyalty to her father either; she's such a worthless sack. It should be clear she's being manipulated if not by Olson AND Angelica by at least one of them.

I wish you could say her stupidity ends with those two major flaws, but it doesn't. She has zero impulse control, zero self-respect, is supposedly smart but doesn't have a lot of critical thinking skills when it comes to people and living in a criminal organization you think she'd be smarter or more savvy than that. Besides all that, she's a flipping doormat, swayed by pretty packaging of the male gender, letting them treat her like garbage and rewarding them with sex despite their abominable behavior. There's really not much likable about this broad, or even the guy she's panting after.

Honestly, the only thing interesting about the series was the murder mystery part of it. Her ridiculous undeserved submissiveness to the male scumbags is so irritating I skim over the sex scenes and don't even want to get into that because I'd cut parts off of any male that treated me like that. So I continued with these authors and this series because I wanted to find out about the murder mystery, but it's become really obvious that Angelica is the one pulling the strings and there has to be a listening device or the stereotypical frenemy mean-girl is stalking the guys and watching their sexploits happen because they're not really being all that discreet. At this point, the only reason to continue would be to find out why, and my guess is Angelica is doing it out of jealousy (not very original), or is avenging some friend/sister/relative the Vipers have messed with and hurt. Not really sure how I feel about continuing or not because the female lead is just so pathetically a doormat and incredibly stupid.

SHE IS SO DUMB!!! SO SO SO DUMB!! I wish I could express how frustrated I am with Vani!! It’s not even funny!!

She is obviously being played by some bitches and she fully trust them!! She gets drunk and confesses her biggest secret to a bunch of stupid bully’s who are pretending to be their friends!! I’m soooooo annoyed!! I hate FMC that believe everything they are told from STRANGERS, specially mean girls who are always giving you snide comments that you notice but seem to don’t give a f because you are hanging with them an hour later!!

ALSO!! Can we please talk about how she has zero loyalty towards anyone?? Like she meets the man her mother warned her about and BELIEVES HIM ABOUT SHIT HE TALKS ABOUT HER MOTHER??? Oh Ivani you are really really DUMB!! I know a book needs something to keep going because we would have the book if we didn’t but it frustrates me to no end how is just Vani acting dumb and ruining her whole life because of the decision she makes.

I’m sad because she had sooo much potential!! A MC leader daughter who was raised in that world, I expected her to be more intelligent (which she is when it comes to academics but everything else? Not really) and I can somewhat blame it on her being guarded and protected all her life but it gets to a point where it’s just too much, too absurd.

Ughhh the frustration is there!! The MMC are hot and I am intrigued but the FMC gets on my nerves. They also annoyed me here but not as much as her.

3 stars just because the MMC were interesting and I love the writing. I would give one star just because of Vani.

I won’t be reading the next book right away because I’m highly frustrated right now and I kinda hate the FMC if you haven’t noticed by my rant

Curse or Coincidence?

Wow this second book was amazing!!! You really get into the heads is all the characters. Vani is overwhelmed with the Vipers attention but not looking at others. With her crash & the preachers curse upon all of them nobody is in their right mind. And cliffhanger to end all cliffhangers... Geez I'm losing my mind. What will truly happen to Vani & Zane while in a most secluded fantasies place, Lex beaten from his trashed car & let's not forget about Saint & the punch he got while looking at the flowers. Secrets end up hurting all involved & even some that aren't.

I feel like hardly anything happened in this book. They didn’t believe her and she didn’t believe them. The smut was ok but the time they tied her up and never let her finish, was rough. Spoiler: this scene is also never addressed in the 3rd book either, which sucks. I wanted her to be pissed about it and demand a night where she had a ton of O’s and they never finished. Would have been nice, but nope. They want what they want and she just always lets them have it.

The end of this book had a very uneventful cliffhanger IMO. Instead of the FMC getting taken, it was one of the MMC’s and I was really uninterested in saving him 😂🤦‍♀️

I wanted to find my half sister.

My mother told me about her on her deathbed. I thought I was so smart. How could I be sooooooo stupid! Three guys are Vipers: Zane, Lex and Saint. There are rumors that they had something to do with her death, about two years ago. No one is supposed to talk about this. The Dean will not allow it. But I don’t listen. I really enjoyed this book. There are so many things going on that will keep you reading this book!!!!!!! You will not be able to put it down. And end in a cliffhanger, which I dislike intensely. March 2025 is along time to wait.

Booktok scene found. What a literal cliffhanger! The “bully” romance is really prevalent in this series. Compared to even the first trilogy, the guys had realized they should flip their ideals about the relationship with the woman they want early enough on. Idk if I’m down with all this trauma blocking this revelation. It’s just dragging imo. Almost don’t want to finish the trilogy… almost…

Dark college Bully Romance, why choose MFMM, twins, dub-con, bondage, check the TW, SA and rape

The plot thickens

Lies abound, trust shattered, secrets revealed. Hatred burns in hearts. Black magic, false friends, and fear at every turn.

Three men fight against their feelings, too broken to let her in. One woman, in search of a missing sister discovers an awful story. Not knowing who she can trust, what the truth is or who is after her, she fights the three despite longing to be with them.

Something is trying to rip the four apart, hurting each one of them. The question is, who?

My goodness, this book series is killing me. I can't put them down. This book cliffhanger ending has me rushing to my bookshelf for the next book already.

The constant problems that pop up from assuming things in this group are just crazy. There is no trust, and for good reason, but still.

I really want this little love group to finally work together, but it hasn't happened yet. They all need to realize that there are others involved somewhere causing all these problems, but who?

I can't stand not knowing, I have to start this next book now.

Getting vengeance

At the end of bk 1 I wasn't sure how things would play out. Vani is taken and the consequences of that play out towards the end of the book. The twins and Zane start to realise there is more to vani and all four of them start to question each other. I believe some other people are at play but it will come out later on in bk 3. Somany questions left unsaid. Bk 3 can't come quick enough for me, I need to know what's next.

Wow, didn’t think this series could get any better but wow! I love the suspense and mystery. The series is addictive in a good way and I can’t get enough of it.

Ivani growing more confident in herself but also softening the Vipers.

“You’re our perfect little venomous snake, and you like to get down and dirty in the snake pit with us just as much as we like it. You can deny it all you want, but it’s the truth.”

This book wasn’t as good as the first one. I got annoyed a times as I felt their wasn’t much plot and the characters were irritating me with how obvious certain situations were. However, it had a good amount of spice in it and I still want to read the final book just to know the conclusion.

I would recommend this book if you don’t want to think to hard about plot and want to enjoy a high level of spice in a book. There are some darker spice scenes too so would advise reader discretion.

My Thoughts.....

See, I know that with a trilogy, the second book isn't always the best. And unfortunately, this was the case here.
There was too much inner monologs
The communication between the four of them was horrible! Vani wasn't as strong, lots of back and forth - sheesh girl!
Oh don't get me started on Angelica - I want to smack her!!!
I'm really hopeful for the third book!

Ivani and The Vipers

Vani, and Zane, Saint along with Lex. There's extremely interesting going on in this book, I can figure out who playing who. What really happened. I enjoy the suspense and intrigue. The book end on a certain spot so on to the next called, The Vipers' Vow: A Dark College Bully Romance (Verona Falls University Book 6).

Disappointed in this book and how it ended. I feel like the back and forth is being drawn out too much at this point. It was an incredibly short book and the cliffhanger just felt like the author was trying to meet a deadline and cut the book off. A bit too much going on in it at this point to me. Hopefully the next book brings a better resolution.

Disappointed

This book was so disappointing. I really did not like Vani in this book. I found her hypocritical actions annoying and she was just stupid. I had to skip so much because it was so hard to read about her hating them but wanting them over and over. The spicy scenes were so not spicy since the connection between the MFC and the MMC’ was lost in this book.

Communication is key!!!

This is the second book the Vipers story at Verona Falls University. Everything would be so much easier if everyone would just use their communication skills. Not talking about things and letting them fester only brings heartache, especially when there are other people working against you.

I really enjoyed this second book in Vani & the guys story. There was so much to keep you interested, angst, mystery and of course the undeniable chemistry between them all. I also enjoyed the push and pull between them all and how they were afraid to admit how they really feel about each other. After the cliffhanger I can’t wait to read the next book.
