After being blindsided by a Holiday Heartbreak, Dailyn is doing her best to pick up the pieces of her life. Although her new normal looks very different nowadays, she is desperately trying to get back to the blissful place that she once was. However, those around her make peace anything but possible. At every turn, Dailyn is being reminded of the deception and hurt that she experienced almost two years prior.
In addition to those who made their intentions known, she has also garnered a new enemy. A foe is lurking and watching her from afar, determined to make sure that she pays the ultimate price for her man’s betrayal.
Fueled by her desire to rid herself of her troubles, she welcomes every issue that comes her way. Even if it means looking death in its dark, chocolate, handsome face.
Will this year finally be the year that bells ring in the Wilks household? Or ‘tis the season for Holiday Mayhem?
How it started:🎶You bet not run up on me if you do then ima trip out🎶
How it ended: 🎶catch 22s all day for you, and if they don’t act right ima catch fade for you🎶
“I’m fair and I’m just, but I can also cause mayhem and destruction. The version you get will always be up to you.”
In “Holiday Heartbreak” we left off with Dailyn’s world being turned upside down. Here we are two years later and just when she’s finally in a better place and healing for herself and her loved ones, some fk 💩 as a result of Keyshaun darkens her doorstep and threatens to shatter what she’s been trying so hard to put back together.
When her path crosses with Mayhem she had no idea that his unhinged behavior would lead to her finding the love of her life. He was a no nonsense type of 🥷 but would absolutely crash out behind his loved ones.
Y’all I REALLY enjoyed this book. Malakye was my type of unhinged!! This was a stand on business type of man. If he said it was going to happen it was going to happen. If he gave you a chance then take it because the alternative wasn’t nothing to play with and nobody and I do mean nobody was exempt from feeling this man’s wrath!! As expected I did prefect much of the storyline but the way Nek delivered made this an enjoyable read. There were so many special moments in this book that I loved. There were some discrepancies like leaving behind wealth after death despite committing petty crimes while alive amongst other things that I won’t nitpick over. A time was had with this read and it delivered on expectations for me.
“Tell me where the f*ck Shaun is, and I will ask my ninja not to kill you.” I leaned against the wall as she eyed me. “Tell her you won’t kill her, baby.” “It's whatever you want, mama…” I shrugged as I licked my bottom lip. “But, my trigger finger is itching, so she better hurry the f*ck up.” Listen, Bonnie and Clyde 2.0 was bout' that life. If my man don't play about me like Malakye didn't play about Dailyn, Ion want him. Holiday Mayhem was a fantastic follow up to book one. Nek Mills really put her foot in this book. Give girlfriend all her flowers because, she deserves them.
Nothing says romance like an unhinged MMC and a little kidnapping! Dailyn is trying to pick up the pieces of her life and move on when one day she comes home and finds strange men in her living room and Mayhem telling her that she's inherited a debt from her deceased fiancé. Dai was my kind of FMC; she stood on business and didn't tolerate any disrespect, not even from Malakye. Malakye had very little sense, and he showed her that every chance he got. Them coming together and eventually developing feelings was so cute, and the little family unit they created with the kids was endearing.
Everyone who played a part got EXACTLY what they deserved. You play with fire you will get burned 🫢. They played with our girl too many times and she got her lick back each and every time 😌… We just gon add Mayhem to the list of the unhinged 😭 (that we love). He went from not playing With Dani to NOT playing about her… He didn’t care what she was talking bout he was not coming off of her and Dream. Mayhem will paint the city red about his. Aaliyah is a trash all around individual… she already knew Mayhem didn’t play when it comes to his son. I loved how he was with his son he never downplayed his feelings and let him know hêll or high water he would always be there. Aaliyah suffered but not enough for me 🙃. Jigga and Daijia are hilarious together😭😭. He already know that was gon be his lady soon as he seen her lol. I would love to see a book about them.
I liked this one better than the first. Mayhem was just that and he really was the highlight of the book. I love an unhinged Mmc and he wasn't playing about anyone he loved at all.
Listen it's the end of the year I don't have much left in me. This is about a 3, but Mayhem pushed it up for me with his BDE.
This was GOOOOD! The first book was good but predictable. But part 2… literally kept me on my toes from the first few pages!!!
Keshaun was TRASH‼️ Between him & his mother idk who had more nerve & audacity!!! My mind was BLOWN at the way things played out! That man was really insane & his mother wasn’t any better! They both got exactly what they deserved after all Dailyn went through!
Aaliyah was beyond trifling! Mayhem must’ve pulled her outta the same trashcan Keshaun came from!
Daija & Josh were too cute 😂 he loved her crazy self & as much as she tried to fight it she was definitely feeling him too!
Monte & Shara were AWFUL‼️Neither of them had any loyalty to anyone but themselves! I was not expecting the secrets that came out between the two of them idk who was worse!! It really be the ones closest to you that will do you the worst!!
This book was reallyyyy good!!! Definitely one of my top books of 2024! A must read for sure!
Let me give you your flowers. Great read!!! I was engaged from the first page. When I hit the halfway point I was screaming. When that man recapped that story I bout died. Now, where's the rest? I want the sister and old dude story 👀. Y'all just read the damn book.
Let me start by saying I REALLY love Dailyn. Shes my kind of girl, and I like that she stood on business when it came to people disrespecting her. I did not see Malakye coming but once he made himself known I knew those two wouldn’t be able to resist each other. I laughed more than expected with this one. Mayhem and Dai absolutely matched each others energy. The plot twist, yeah I didn’t see that coming at all, and I love when authors are able to shock you like that. Now I know this just came out but I hope we get to see this family again….maybe in a Jigga/Jaja book!
4.5 ⭐️ From the moment I read the blurb I knew this would be good and EXCELLENT it was. This was something!! This was a new level for me in a way. I thought I’d read unhinged before… this book was CRAZY lol but it was crazy good.
I loved Dai and Mayhem DOWN. Dailyn stood on every bit of business so Mayhem was perfect for her. By the end, you knew they were meant for each other. They were a wild duo fasho.
I took the half star only bc the beginning felt a little drawn out for me. But it could just be I’m impatient lol. I wanted them to meet already. The backstory was just a little too detailed for my taste.
Nonetheless a great read and I will be reading more of this authors catalog!
Stockholm syndrome aside I loved this book down. It was really cute definitely not your traditional Christmas book but I ate it up for sure. The supporting characters are to die for and I love the development of the new found friendships and family in the story. These are characters I wouldn’t mind seeing again and I would definitely love to see Rell find love. This was cutesy.
I read this in one day! A great read for my Sunday! One thing I love about Nek is that the men are going to love these women down bad! Do everything under the sun for them!
Really enjoyed reading. It had my favorite tropes of kidnapping, forced proximity and a loving step daddy. Dai was just as unhinged as Mayhem lol. Definitely recommend.
Those are pretty good sequel however I did not like That It was so violent to the point where they talked about killing babies like it was nothing. Burning down the day care center and killing a bunch of kids without any remorse just did not fit into the story line. I really enjoy Nieks Writing, I enjoyed every character And twist and turn of Of this novel.this
It was a good read, but some things were just too much. Malakye was a rude jerk, and Dailynn fell for him too easily. The daycare situation and 2 women and the baby were what really lost me. That was disappointing to read. I liked Daija and Jigga more than Malakye and Dailynn
That’s a huge character flaw for me. Especially the kids. So the whole premise behind them meeting threw me off. He truly planned on killing her but the woman who was putting her hands on his child, he let live. Then to kill all of those children at the daycare was diabolical. So no, I didn’t like Mayhem for that alone.
This was a really good read and did not disappoint as Dailyn's story continued. I absolutely loved how she stood on business when it came to those who did her wrong in the prequel.
After being blinded by love and played and embarrassed in the biggest way, I love how Dailyn tried her best to move on while building a life for herself and her baby girl. Her tough exterior really came through in this book, and those she gave her a** to kiss definitely deserved it.
Now, I will say Mayhem's logic on his getback when it came to Keshaun's wrongs made no sense to me. Even without the presence of Dream, I don't think Dailyn should have been a target for his f*ck-ups. Especially when she was clueless about everything. Nonetheless, despite their rocky start, I love how both Dai and Mayhem didn't waste time on the feelings they eventually started to feel toward one another. I love the bond that he built with her daughter and her with his son.
Dailyn quickly learned that Keshuan was the lil n*gga all along, and Mayhem was the true big dawg, and everything about how he moved when it came to her proved exactly so. I also loved how accepting Dailyn's family was as well.
I always side-eyed what supposedly happened to Keshaun because it seemed too easy, and my reservations proved me correct. Needless to say, everyone that needed to suffer got theirs.
Jigga and Daija were to0 funny and cute as well. I would love to have an update on both couples sometime down the line and to see how the dynamic in the family changes.
This book picks up two years after book one, and with a little mini in tow, Dai is back and handling her Boss business and boppin chics who talked wreckless. My girl Dai didn't owe anyone anything, and I am glad she stood firm on that. And maybe this is an unpopular opinion, but F ALL THEM PEOPLE. I loved that even in the face of danger, Dai was Dai, and I really enjoyed how the author wrote her from beginning to end. Enter Mayhem and what started off as a very rocky beginning turned into a story that I didn't want to end! I also loved Ki, and the way the author portrayed him as a well-mannered kid who just liked kids' stuff, not a thug or having a disrespectful mouth. I loved that despite his mom being trash, he had so much love from his dad that he remained the same well-mannered kid with a big heart who loved Dream and Dai. This book honestly had so much that I really enjoyed about it. It was hilarious, Mayhem stood ten toes down behind Dai, even in front of her family and with her wrong as two left shoes granny, Jaja and Jigga- who need a spin-off, and that lick back!? Maaaaan, the lick back that Dai got with that fake dead dude was of EPIC proportions! Dai mentioned making her enemies her footstool, and that lick back was done girl, WELL DONE!
Nek Mills does not miss. I loved the story of Dailyn and Malakye. It was everything I wanted and more. Dailyn was not playing with anybody, and she didn't put up with disrespect. She was laying everybody out about her respect. I'm still upset with the family for trying to force her to help her cousin. Her cousin wasn't thinking about her when she was sleeping with her fiancée so why should she think about her cousin and her baby now?
Malakaye/Mayhem was not to be played with. He was about his business and only activated Mayhem when necessary. His baby mama was trash, and I wanted more to happen to her. How you choose a man over your kid and allow that man to treat your kid any kind of way? His son Mehki was the sweetest. I loved the moments between him and Dream.
Dailyn and Malakye fought their attraction, but when they finally acted on their attraction, it was so good. I loved their relationship and how he stepped in for his Dream Girl. Watching the family dynamic build was beautiful. I loved reading them together. Of course, the drama was there, and I was clapping as everyone got the revenge they deserved. Amazing book that I couldn't put down.
When Shaun died Dailyn didn’t what anything to do with another man besides that he has a baby with her cousin. Malakye aka Mayhem came into her and made her rethink everything. It’s funny her parents thinking she was on vacation but the whole time she and Dream were kidnapped, Mayhem was communicating with them the whole time. Dailyn had everything going for her own shop, car, house and money. Shara was jealous and didn’t have nothing going for her, I assume. Nana pissed me off talking about Dailyn should know better. Why is that? Dailyn tickled me when Wanda ole self tried to check her and when she put the beat down on Katherine. Mayhem was ready to go to war behind Dailyn and his Deamy girl. Mekhi has a trash a** mammy. Picking her man over her son. Mayhem was ready to end her life. Monte’ talks to much. Shaun took him out, so Jigga didn’t have to. Shara got it because of her own jealousy and talking about Mayhem and on top of that the baby wasn’t his. Daija and Jigga need their own book. Mama kept questioning Mayhem about the kidnapping. Her daddy wasn’t worried about it.
Mayhem was just that...Mayhem! I didn't expect everything that happened but I enjoyed it nonetheless. In the spirit of Christmas, this book comes with an ain't-ish list: Monte Shauna Shara Sandy Katherine Aliyah KESHAUN!!! I can't believe all the reindeer games he played in Dailyn's face. One thing Mayhem didn't play about was his Dream girl and Dai. Mayhem was bodying everyone that got in their way and played in their face. When he hosed down Katherine and ole girl in the beauty shop...💀 Then he sat the blickey on the table when granny was running her mouth...💀The fact that Dai's dad wholeheartedly approved of Mayhem, unlike Shaun was proof that these two were meant for one another. Dai and Mehki, I loved their connection and the fact that he treated Dream like his sister from go. This book was Mayhem in the holidays, but it still melted my heart. Dai and Jaja with them hands is deadly. Please tell me Ja and Jigga getting a book.🙏🏽
This was the perfect story for the holidays. Keyshaun, Monte, and Shara all got what they deserved. Shara was a lazy deceitful hoe that didn’t pay attention to the lick and ended up jealous with a wet ass and a baby. Monte was too busy being jealous and trying to prove he was “the man” to actually make something of himself and Keyshaun was just greedy and selfish with no loyalty. I love how a when Mayhem realized that he wanted more from Dailyn he had to give her, her freedom, but even in giving her freedom he didn’t lax on the responsibility he felt for Dream and he didn’t give Dailyn a chance to sabotage a chance for them before it even started!! I’m glad my girl got her happily ever after and I hope we will learn they made a baby as well as Jigga and Daja’s story!!
I couldn’t wait to dive into this after loving Holiday Heartbreak, and wow, Holiday Mayhem did not disappoint! This was such a fun follow-up and had me hooked from the very first chapter. I’m a sucker for a good forced vacation storyline, and this one hit all the marks. The unhinged MMC was pure chaos in the best way, keeping things unpredictable and hilarious. And the FMC? Perfection. I love a heroine with a backbone who isn’t afraid to dish it right back, and she nailed it. Their banter was everything! Honestly, this book was just a blast. It’s wild, funny, and full of moments that made me laugh, swoon, and want to keep turning the pages. If you’re looking for something chaotic and fun with just the right amount of heart, this one’s for you!
