I actually did not finish this book—I stuck it out for almost 8 months and when I realized I was just skimming it, I stopped. I’ve read other devotionals by this author and liked them, but for some reason, this one just didn’t resonate with me. It felt like I was reading the same devotion over and over with lots of redundancy. It also felt like I was being preached to, and not in a positive way. I just tired of the rather didactic tone used by the author. I think I’ve bought other books by her that I haven’t read, but I think it will be a while before I pick any of them up. I’ve been choosing one or two devotional to read each year for most of my adult life & I can’t remember ever giving up on any mid-year before this one. Very disappointing.
