Now I will start out by saying that I actually like the story, but I do feel that it moves very slowly. Basically the timeline for me feels like so much time has passed, but when you’re reading only a day has passed, but it feels like a month. I will also say I feel like the FMC did not give the MMC the benefit of the doubt ever I feel like if you’ve been friends with somebody from college, you would definitely give them the benefit of the doubt. I feel like it was petty at the FMC to basically ghost her husband without even taking the time to confront him about what people were saying he was doing actually particularly only one specific person. This book does have a HEA but I will say the ending is very abrupt and I did not appreciate that at all.
The characters are great, their history, mutual attraction, career drive and their attempt at faking it has a steady, engaging pace, great relationship build-up are all very well balanced.. Heartfelt emotions, some steam and such a sweet and charming group of supportive family and friends plus her food sounds delicious made this a fake deal worth breaking and reading. I haven't read them all but this was a joy to read and I think this is one of the best stories that this author has written. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
There was no continuity between the chapters. End of chapter 12 they’ve stated although it started out as an act, it no longer is. The beginning of chapter 13 and beyond it’s all an act. As though chapter 12 never happened. Also she kept over reacting and not letting him speak. It irritated me. So 2.5
The title, Love after the Ho Ho Ho'in is a pleasantly misleading play on words, Maya and Henry, were good friends who during college, but lost touch as they developed their individual careers. They rekindled their friendship, during a corporate event and soon after, develop a plan to assist each other with their respective businesses. They agree to a temporary "fake" marriage, but the two start to develop romantic feelings towards each other. Unfortunately, poor communication, fear, and the constant harassment of Marcus, an evil coworker, threaten to drive a wedge between Maya and Henry and destroy their respective businesses.

Marcus Steele found out the hard way how he was caught in his own trap trying to expose Maya and Henry's arranged marriage. Both Maya and Henry had an undercover thing for each other since their college days. When Henry feared the possibility of losing his CEO position in his late father's company, he jumped at the opportunity to persuade Maya to marry him for a much needed financial infusion in her bakery. Little did they expect that their marriage was more real than they both realized especially after Marcus tried to chop a chink in their relationship. It made them see how much each other meant to them and that their HEA was real and worth fighting for.
how could you not tell that these two were destined to fall in love. they were college friends on the border of being more then. and when fate brought them together for an event, it sparked again. it started as a business arrangement and just one kiss, turned into two, into a memorable night. and was being ruined by a spiteful, jealous man, but Henry redeemed himself. he was not letting his woman get away from him. she was his. and he was set to remind her of that. this wasn't about business anymore. it was about them. another one down and enjoyed every bit of it.
Henry proposes a solution to his college friend Maya, that should solve all their business problems. It would be great if others didn't start meddling. Can Maya and Henry save each other in the long run? A good seasonal read.

Maya and Henry need to get it together to make it sunny and bright! funny, bantering, intense to light drama with two different definitions of family. Is it really fake is the question? What you say and do are two different things. Good read.

There is a underlying truth of attraction in friendship no matter how you wrap it. Sometimes the fake is in the denial of real deep feelings. I enjoyed their reconnection and drive to succeed. To thwart the villain that was weak and hateful. A good story that had just enough spice to balance out the sweet.
This book reads as if two separate people wrote it and didn’t bother to read each other’s work. It caused everything to feel disjointed and me to feel as if I was reading about a different Maya and a different Henry in each chapter. It wasn’t horrible, just a poor effort.
I really liked this story I loved Henry and Maya you could tell that they really have history. This book was a great quick read for Christmas time it could even be a Hallmark movie.
This was a great concept but poorly executed. I feel like there was an outline of what happened in each chapter and a different writer wrote each one without reading the prior. There was a lot of times I’d skip a paragraph because we’d already covered it. Or there was one chapter where something happened in the bakery (her pov), then the next chapter (his pov) started by mentioning a stressful day in the bakery making it seem like she already told him about it but the next page is when she tells him. I was confused, if she hadn’t already told him about her stressful day in the bakery, how did he know about it? Again, I loved the concept just think it could have used an extra round… or four… of editing.
Love After Ho Ho Ho’in is a delightful holiday romance that’s both heartwarming and steamy. It’s the perfect blend of sweet and spicy, with a dash of humor and a sprinkle of drama.
The story follows Maya, a hardworking baker with a big heart, and Henry, a grumpy billionaire with a hidden soft side. Their fake marriage agreement is a hilarious setup that leads to some truly adorable and swoon-worthy moments. I loved the way their relationship evolved from a business arrangement to something much deeper.
One of the things I appreciate most about this book is the author’s ability to create such relatable and engaging characters. Maya and Henry are both flawed and lovable, and their chemistry is undeniable. The supporting characters, like Maya’s quirky family and Henry’s loyal assistant, add depth and humor to the story.
The plot is well-paced, with plenty of twists and turns to keep you hooked. The holiday setting adds a cozy and festive atmosphere, and the author’s witty banter and steamy scenes will leave you wanting more.
If you’re looking for a feel-good romance that will put you in the holiday spirit, I recommend Love After Ho Ho Ho’in. It’s the perfect book to curl up with on a cold winter’s night.
