I have to stay awake… I need to keep him safe.
I haven’t slept properly since Riley was born, rushing to his side to make sure he’s safe every second of the day and night.
The lack of sleep is getting to me. Riley’s father is gone half the time and my only support is Maggie next door, who does her best to reassure me I’m not going insane…
But then our annoying neighbour is found dead. My partner disappears. And my sister-in-law is reported missing…
And I’m worried I had something to do with all of it.
Because in my sleep-deprived state, I’d been angry at all of them, hadn’t I? And there are terrifying blanks in my memory…
I would do anything to keep my baby safe. I’ve been awake for days. But what if that means I’ve plunged everyone around me into danger? Or is someone else trying to make me feel crazy – and I’m the one who’s truly at risk…?
An absolutely unputdownable, addictive suspense thriller with a jaw-dropping twist. Perfect for fans of gripping page-turners like The Housemaid, The Family Across the Street and The Family Upstairs.

More like a 3.5, but since half stars are not a thing, tie goes to the author and it’s rounded up.
While My Baby Sleeps was an audio from NetGalley and I listened to it at the perfect time - while staying with my first grandchild, Riley, and providing 5 weeks of child care. I, like the MC, am currently sleep deprived and having brain stuff 🤣
Despite my fatigue, this one kept me listening, and guessing, through the entire book. I did manage to figure out the plot about half way through, but that did not detract from my enjoyment of this well narrated audiobook.
ARC audiobook provided in exchange for an honest review.
I really enjoyed the female narrators voice and the way she read the story! I can imagine this book would have been rather challenging to narrate since the main character (whose point of view it’s written from) is one of the most unreliable narrators I’ve ever read. That being said, I could guess the twist a mile away but enjoyed the story regardless. There were still dots to connect and other aspects that were a surprise. I would recommend if you like psychological thrillers with an extremely unreliable narrator!
Unfortunately this was a miss for me, firstly because the mental health trope is massively overplayed. Especially post partum psychosis, in fact I’d go as far as to say it was actually in really bad taste Secondly the story was extremely repetitive and predictable. Something kept me intrigued thought so that showed good style, and good character development, I certainly wouldn’t dismiss giving the author a try again on any future work.
Really sorry I’d have loved to have loved it and left a glowing review but it would’ve been dishonest.
The narration was nice.
New readers to the genre might really enjoy it.

This is the story of Lu and Tony, and their almost-one-year-old son, Riley. The two met, became friends, helped each other through bad relationships for years, then finally started dating themselves. Soon after, Lu gets pregnant - and they are both so excited. This wasn’t planned, but this is such a great thing…until it isn’t…
When Lu got pregnant, she became consumed with rage. Everyone told her it would go away after the baby was born, but it didn’t, and it’s getting worse, mostly because she can’t sleep. This isn’t typical exhausted mom stuff - for almost a year, she’s been living on short snippets of sleep that add up to MAYBE three or four hours a day. The love she has for Riley is very strong, but she’s started sleepwalking, forgetting things, and let’s just say she’s having some disturbing and intrusive thoughts.
The problem is, Lu has no help. Her family all lives far away, they’ve recently moved and she has no friends, they can’t afford childcare and her oblivious friend-turned-boyfriend works nights and sleeps all day. Things don’t seem like they could get worse, until one night, Lu wakes up walking down her street in pajamas, covered in blood. When she realizes she’s locked herself out with her baby asleep inside, she bangs on the neighbor’s door for help.
Jim has broken his leg, and his sister Maggie is there helping him - and now she helps Lu with a spare key and a first aid kit. She also offers to watch Riley so Lu can finally get some sleep, and this seems like a way out of the dark…until the next morning, when they find out a neighbor was killed. Lu is terrified that she killed him while sleepwalking, but Maggie talks her off the ledge, and from there on, starts taking care of Lu full time.
Now for my review: I had a lot of thoughts about this one, but my main thought is that this is mislabeled. This is closer to horror stories like “Nightbitch” and “Motherthing”, but it’s labeled as a thriller. I think some light thriller readers may be turned off by the imagery, and as a thriller, it’s very predictable. If you approach it as you would a horror novel, the things that seem cheesy in this book just become part of the horror, and I’d say it’s much better that way. Luckily, I like horror novels more than thrillers, so I enjoyed this story, despite a couple of minor flaws. 3.5 stars, rounded up.
(Thank you to Bookouture, Natali Simmonds and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my review. This book is slated to be released on February 7, 2025.)
While my baby sleeps is a twisty, gripping psychological thriller with high anticipation and filled with unpredictable twists and turns.
Lu is tired. She needs to rest. However her toddler, Riley takes up every moment of her life and her partner, Tony is of no help whatsoever. Having the post partum depression and bone tired, she begins to have morbid thoughts of killing other people in ways that are horrifying and gruesome. Her suppressed rage results in sleepwalking until one day one of the residents is found murdered and her hands are covered in blood.
Distorted and unsure, her neighbour's sister becomes her light in her darkness by befriending her. But is Maggie truly the friend she claims to be?
This was my first book from Natalie Simmonds and I was absolutely intrigued by the way she weaved suspense and anticipation in an intriguing manner. The narrator has done a commendable job in bringing the emotions and expressions of the protagonist. The story follows a steady streak of engaging elements of surprises, shocks, and curiosity. By the middle of the novel, everything is darkly twisted and I was on the edge of the seat. The clever plot, manipulation, and lies are significantly thought out and were weaved in an engrossing way through and through.
This is a solid thriller! The story is unique. I enjoyed how well written the characters are. This is fast paced and well written. I enjoyed this and would recommend it! I had the pleasure of listening to the audiobook and really enjoyed it. Special Thank You to Natali Simmonds, Bookouture and NetGalley for allowing me to listen to a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.
Lu can't sleep. She has a new baby that won't cooperate and a husband that is even worse than the baby. When she does sleep she has vivid and violent dreams. But one night while sleepwalking she wakes covered in blood. Did she do it? I loved how real Simmonds portrayed postpartum symptoms and how difficult new babies can be. At no point did she shy away from the difficult things that we don't talk about. I was so impressed with Lu and all she did, even when she didn't know it. I am so sad that she, like many new mothers, is often alone.
Thank you to NetGalley, the author Natali Simmonds, and Bookoture Audio for my copy of this audiobook.
Unfortunately, I didn't overly enjoy this book. I was looking for a good thriller, and instead it brought me on an extremely long, drawn out journey that didn't captivate me as a reader at all. I found the writing to be very repetitive, it brings us through Lu's daily routine, and her thoughts of wanting to kill literally everybody, which is exactly the same day after day after day. This goes on for well over half the book, and nothing gets even the least bit suspensful until after Chapter 40 I believe. By that time, I was rush-reading through half of the paragraphs and although I was a little curious about what was happening, it still wasn't enough to really draw me in or make me not want to stop reading. There were a couple twists at the ending which I found interesting, but it's disappointing when a book has 50 chapters and it takes 45 of them before things start getting my attention. I could only give this book 2 stars.
Thank you Netgalley for the ARC (audiobook) of this book.
While My Baby Sleeps by Natali Simmonds
This is a thriller about a mother who just gave birth to a baby. She is going through sleep deprivation after delivery. She doesn't have anyone to help her or look after the baby. One night she sleep walks at night and when she wakes up she is outside her house with blood in her hands. She doesn't remember what happened. The next day she sees that her neighbor is murdered.
A fast pacing thriller. Got hooked from the first chapter. Couldn't stop listening to it. The ending made was perfect.
If you like Lisa Jewell books this one is for you.
I listened to the audiobook and the narrator has done a brilliant work.
When I began listening to this, although I genrally knew how the plot was going and none of anything that happened was of surprise, I still found myself immersed in this.
I believe the way in which the post natal depression was depicted wasn't overly accurate my take was that whilst being pregnant for the 2nd time, witnessing a murder, moving home with a baby and dealing with severe sleep deprivation it is absolutely plausible that anyone could and would have hallucinations even in the extreme nature that these seemed to be. With that being said the storyline really mainly focused on this one character and her mental health for the most part, whilst I felt it was obvious where this was going it isn't exposed until the end so this may not be the case for everyone to have thw same opinion or understanding ans may actually question the character of Maggie. There could maybe have been a little more done in the backstory as it felt the beginning just started off running, then slowed down to focus on intricate details of the characters mental health.
Particularly if someone reading this has never suffered from severe sleep deprivation, which I felt was more the issue, they may not find this very relatable or believable although it was a little conflicting at times with the description of post natal depression. To add to this, I don't believe this is true of course in reality for all people, but for the purposes of a fictional story, it is absolutely believable with the amount of stress she was experiencing overall. She begins with irritatability, leading to paranoia and uncertainty of herself. With little support, she then finds herself absolutely lost in an episode of psychosis.
A relatively quick listen, I enjoyed the narration by Sofia Zervudachi, and I did feel like I was able to visualise the story, so this was well delivered with good changes in pitch and tone of all characters.
With thanks to Netgalley & Bookouture Audio for the opportunity to listen to this ELC in return for an open, honest review.
This was toted a being a psychological thriller, you know: "I read it in one day" or "I couldn't put it down" etc., etc., etc. Well, I was able to do both. However, I was always anxious to get back to it. I've read several so-called psychological thrillers, each time, hoping that the book was not another falsely advertised "psychological thriller"
Loved this book, definitely one of my favorite reads of the year. The book is about a mom with an 11-month-old son and a jerk of a husband that "allows" mom to do everything around the house and for the baby because, you know, he works and she "just stays home". Mom struggling with lack of sleep and she begins to lose chunks of her day. Soon people start disappearing and die around her and that has her wondering if she has something to do with all these happenings.
I have to say for the first time, of all the "psychological thrillers" I have read so far, this was the first ever that had me gasp out loud and think, "OH. MY. GOD!" inside. I would highly recommend it.
Loved this book, definitely one of my favorite reads of the year! I couldn't seem to read it fast enough! I definitely did not see the twists coming! I read the book in a day, just because I couldn't put it down!
The book revolves around a mom with an 11 month old son Riley. Struggling with an extreme lack of sleep she begins to loose chunks of her day. So when people begin to disappear and die around her she begins to wonder, could she be the one doing it?
This is the first time I've read something from Natali Simmonds but it definitely won't be the last!
Note: I received an ARC (Advanced Reader Copy) through NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion and review.
Big thanks to Bookouture for a copy on Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. While My Baby Sleeps is an ok read, it starts off strong and dips in the middle and gets a little repetitive. Lu is a stay at home mum with Riley her little boy. While her partner, Tony is extremely busy at work and is briefly home, Lu is having trouble sleeping. While she should be asleep at night, Tony is working and Riley is in bed, Lu is wide awake and hearing the night go by. Strange things happen and Lu is experiencing paranoia and being emotional. But all is not what it seems….. A quick read, pace is gradual and plot is a slightly sluggish. I found the plot slightly predictable and for me there was no surprises. It didn’t have my full attention as much as it could have. In my opinion, I felt Lu could have been more vocal in needing help. A mystery thriller without the thrills.
Wow! Oh what a bumpy ride Lu had in this fast paced psychological thriller that kept me listening as the suspense and twists kept happening. I cried for Lu and had empathy for her, even when bad things happened. Anyone who has had sleep deprivation, not to mention fatigue from coping with a new baby knows how it can make you feel, and Lu was suffocating and no one seemed to care. I loved this book, the storyline was great, and the narrator added to my listening experience. I can’t wait to read more from this author.
Thank you to NetGalley for my arc of this audiobook.
Lu is struggling with being a mom. She is not getting enough sleep and feels alone. I really felt bad for her. I could relate to her feelings in some aspects. There was a very good twist at the end and I did predict some of it. But I've also read a lot of thrillers. Overall, I think the audiobook and storyline were great and I can recommend grabbing yourself a copy!
Many thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture Audio for my gifted copy.
I listened to the audiobook and really enjoyed the narrator- nice, clear voice with proper emotions. This book captivated me from the very beginning. Yes, it is repetitive but stick with it- there is a purpose. There were a few twists, some I saw coming but others were a surprise. Highly recommend this one!
Well that was a wild ride! I thought I was losing my mind along with the FMC. I didn’t know what was real or not. I also didn’t know who to believe. I didn’t expect that ending at all! It surprised me! This is a great thriller book that I think thriller lovers would enjoy! The audiobook was great! I couldn’t stop listening to it.
Such a wild ride! It really makes you wonder what you are truly capable of as a sleep deprived parent, giving your everything for your kids. Even if it means sacrificing your own wellbeing. I did not see the ending coming. I thought it was leading up to a sad ending but was very pleasantly surprised by the twist at the end.
A brilliant thriller packed with substance, excitement, and heart! I thoroughly enjoyed another tremendously satisfying read from Natali Simmonds. This isn’t the first of her books I’ve devoured in a single day, and I’m certain it won’t be the last. She takes you on a wild ride through the sleep-deprived mind of Lu, leaving you questioning what’s real and what’s imagined at every turn. A true psychological thriller to the very last page, it masterfully evokes a spectrum of emotions with each chapter.
Lu is mother to a one-year-old boy, Riley. She's living with her boyfriend in a new house in a less desirable neighborhood. He's rarely around-sleeps all day, works all night. Riley doesn't sleep well and Lu is suffering but has no help. She starts sleepwalking and wonders just how worried about herself she should be when she wakes up covered in blood. Her annoying neighbor down the street who plays loud music is dead. Her next door neighbor, Maggie tries to reassure her and starts helping her around the house. But is Maggie just helping cover up what Lu did?
This was good. There were many directions things could have gone and they took advantage of using the unreliable narrator in storytelling. I did predict a lot of the ending, but I was still invested fully. I hated everyone in Lu's life so much and felt so much empathy for her. I really connected to her, which helped me connect to the story.
After another night of no sleep, the last thing Lu expected was a police officer at the door. Her neighbour has been found dead. He’s been playing loud music for weeks keeping her and the baby awake. But last night she woke up on her doorstep with blood on her hands with no recollection of what happened. She’s a sleep deprived mother, not a killer right?
Ahh I was so intrigued by the premise of this book and it didn’t disappoint. Being deep in sleep deprivation, I’ve felt irrational before where I would do anything for a good nights sleep. Obviously not kill anyone 🙈 Lu’s boyfriend was useless and I wanted to tell him to look after his gf and step up more and he annoyed me in the story a lot. There were twists that were unexpected and that last line.. Loved it!
Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture Audio for the audio Arc of this book.

Feeling tired? I hope that, like me, you don't know the meaning of the word. (4.5 stars)
My calendar over the last two weeks has gone something like this:
Week 1: plan to take the time off work to have a blitz on some home decorating. Realise that, after it's taken 3 days to strip paint of two skirting boards and half of one balustrade, that a week isn't going to be anywhere near long enough. Realise also that the amount of dust generated by an electric sander is horrendous, and that if paint stripper doesn't stink, it doesn't work. Pause to respond to a few work emails that just won't wait. Spend the next day-and-a-half painting some walls with emulsion, just so it would look like I'd achieved something.
Weekend: go to London to see Abba Voyage. It was fantastic, and well worth driving for a 300-mile round trip.
Week 2: go back to work, and spend most of the week playing catch-up.
Weekend: try to fit a bit more decorating in on Saturday trying to get some more decorating in, and then spend Sunday at a workshop to encourage me to do some more of my own writing. It was successful, but my brain didn't know what had hit it.
Ordinarily, I'd have said today that I was feeling tired.
The thing is, though, that I've been using my last wakeful moments whilst all this was going on to read While My Baby Sleeps by Natali Simmonds. Which has explained to me, clearly and terrifyingly, that what I' actually feeling right now is nothing at all.
On the face of it, the situation that Natali has created for her main character, Lu, this time round is very different from that which she had previously written for Em in her novel Good Girls Die Last. But it works for exactly the same reason: it's perhaps a bit extreme, but it never feels it because each aspect is completely relatable. She's a new mum, and her baby son never sleeps through the night. She's recently moved to a new area and has no real friends. She can't really call on her family for help, because her parents live abroad and she's not close to her brother and his wife. And her partner Tony works night shifts. So it's left entirely to Lu to cater for her baby's every need, including waking when he cries in the night. Every night. Every. Single. Night.
But how to explain the continuous, relentless and oh, so overpowering exhaustion that this creates to people who just don't understand? To a partner who is never there? To acquaintances met in the local park, or at playgroup, who all seem, at least outwardly, to be coping better than you are? And even if you felt able, how do you even find the vocabulary? All poor Lu can think of to say is "I'm tired", which doesn't even begin to convey what she's really going through.
The storyline feels authentic, and that's because it is. Natali - again, much as she did in Good Girls Die Last, and again, successfully - used her own experiences to put herself into the main character. This works, not only because it makes the beginning of the book feel more personal but also because, when some perhaps less probable, but still plausible curveballs were thrown in, I was still ready to believe every word. What if the only person who seems to understand what you're having to deal with is your neighbour's sister, who is a stranger to you? And what if you wake up outside your front door, with blood on your hands and no idea how it got there? And then learn that an antisocial neighbour has been murdered ... ?
Unlike some other reviewers, I didn't mind that much of the first two-thirds of the book felt repetitive. To me, this just helped it seem more real. I could easily understand how Lu's thoughts would be much the same every day, apart from them becoming increasingly angry and violent as, day by day, she became a little more desperate. I also didn't mind that Tony is portrayed as being extremely selfish and self-centred, because I could see that he needed to be that way for the story to work. And, whilst I did start to feel a bit annoyed at the seemingly very naive trust that Lu was prepared to put into her only friend Maggie, I forgave this when the truth was revealed. Because, wow. I hadn't seen it coming at all and yet it made perfect, horrible sense.
My gripes with this book lie in part with some of the details. Would it really be the case, for example, that you'd have no idea what day of the week it was if you lost your phone? Especially if you also have a laptop? Mostly, though, I thought that the ending didn't work as well as the rest of the book. After the slow build-up, it all felt a bit rushed. I'd have liked a longer explanation of what had really happened to Lu, and how - even though I appreciate that it would probably have been very hard for Natali to write. And, for the same reason really, I didn't think that the final twist at the end worked at all, because there simply hadn't been enough time to develop the idea.
Let's be clear, though: these are niggles. And to be put off reading a book because of these would be akin to not wanting to go on holiday to your favourite resort if you couldn't see the sea from the only remaining hotel room. Or refusing to eat a plate of your favourite meal because you didn't like the dressing on the side salad.
What's far more important is that Natali Simmonds has managed not only to tell a gripping and often moving story, but also raise awareness of a condition in such a personal way that even I - a mere man who isn't even the father of a child - could understand. And for that she deserves my congratulations, and thanks.
My thanks also to Bookouture and Netgalley for the digital ARC of this book, which was published by Bookouture on 7th February. My review is available on my blog at www.mycosybooknook.wordpress.com and will also be published on Amazon and my social media pages.
Thanks to Bookouture and Natali for sending me a copy of this title in return for an honest review.
I looooooooove Natali's books and I love Natali herself. She's such a fabulous storyteller but on social media I've come to know her as a warm, loving, caring individual who has so much talent, and so I am always thrilled to get to read her books.
There are 50 chapters in this book, which averages about 6 pages per chapter, which I like because it means it's speedy which adds to the frantic nature of the story.
It opens with such a heart-in-mouth chapter, which is what I've come to expect from her books. You're enticed instantly and you're on this ride from page one.
It's slow (I don't mean that in a slow = boring way); it's a quiet, calculated, eerie thrill. It opens with a bang, and then it settles. Drawing you in. Lulling you into a false sense of security. It makes you care about the characters before everything hits the fan.
I generally try and read only uplifting books in bed, but I'd started this one evening and couldn't give it up, so was reading it from between my fingers in bed. I just had to know what happened next.
I expect twists and turns in a thriller, but I wasn't expecting the route Natali took in this, which was a great surprise. I spent the whole book second guessing things, and just when I thought I'd figured it out, out came another surprise, and it finished with the best twist that I didn't see coming - although now I've finished it, I feel I should have.
I enjoyed the story revolving around a new mum and her lack of sleep and just what damage that can do. I don't have children so I won't pretend I know what it's like to be like that 24/7, but I did help look after my nephew way back when he was a few days old and so I can appreciate a bit what it's like to go around with no sleep and look after a baby. And it can really make you feel like you're losing your mind. So whilst this is a thriller and a fictional story, I think it's closer to reality than people might think or want.
I love how she's depicted Lu's story; our protagonist is not some cold blood serial killer. She's sleep deprived and anxious and hungry and fed up, and it is scary that these are all things that could turn us into something we fear. But she hasn't done it as a novelty. There's empathy there, that I believe can only come from someone who has experienced it before.
There aren't many characters, only two or three main players. But the worst of them all (not in terms of writing ability but in terms of her make up) is Maggie. I won't go into too much detail for fear of spoilers, but ohhhh she made my skin crawl.
Natali has a way of playing on her anxieties and fears. There isn't a complicated plot and there are only a few characters, and yet it is as exciting and full-on as a busy book because of the quietness.
Good Girls Die Last was my first book of Natali's, followed by My Daughter's Revenge. I loved both but I felt MDR was even more accomplished. And once again, she's managed to build on what was successful in those two books and make this one even better. This pattern bodes well for future stories.
lu, a new mother to her baby, riley, is struggling to take care of him. sleep deprivation takes its toll on her, blurring the line between reality and illusion. when a neighbour she didn't really like is found dead, she begins to wonder if she might have played a role in what happened. but, she's just a loving mother to her baby, right? she would never do such a thing...
first of all, i appreciate how the author portrays the struggles of motherhood, particularly their impact on mental health. the depiction feels raw and authentic, and while i don't have kids myself, i believe that many mothers will find it relatable. prolonged sleep deprivation, often overlooked, can have severe consequences and definitely shouldn't be ignored, because a short nap won't fix shit. overcoming it actually requires time and support from family and friends.
sadly, the mc lacked that support. she wasn't in touch with her mother, and with tony working all the time to provide for the family, she was left with taking care of riley mostly on her own. which made her incredibly exhausted.
i kinda could relate to lu, because i was exhausted too. only for different reasons.
well, this one was a slow burn. it took (only!😃) 45 chapters to draw my attention. i swear most of the book consisted of lu's repetitive thoughts.
"oh my god, did I kill dave? I don't know"
"oh my god, where is my kid? I don't remember"
"where tf is tony? damn, was he kidnapped? lol I dont remember"
"oh my god, tony just cut the cheese and that piece of cheese was SO big, just because he provides for the family doesn't mean he can eat such big pieces of cheese. personally, i cut small pieces of cheese so that it LASTS LONGER. but no, tony doesn't care because he's the one making the money 🤬 damn, I'd take this knife and cut his face just like he's cutting the cheese" and I believe at least 65% of the book was exactly that.
i usually enjoy the unreliable narrator trope, but in this book, it felt too dragged out and repetitive.
another thing - the plot twists, or maybe - the lack of them. i finished the book and oh, finally, there was one in the last chapter. then I noticed there were actually more, but I didn't even realize they were plot twists. unfortunately, this *thriller* wasn't really thrilling. i only finished the audiobook, because i don't really like to dnf books, but honestly, i wouldn't have missed much if i had.
to sum up - i was looking for a good thriller and didn't find what I hoped for. the book just didn't do it for me. nevertheless, I love that Natali Simmonds raises awareness about the struggles mothers face.
thanks to NetGalley, Bookouture Audio and Natali Simmonds for the opportunity to review this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.
Honestly, I'm not sure how I feel about this one! 😮😮
For most of the book I was thinking that this was a VERY DARK, Very Disturbing Book... presented as a sleep deprived woman with a relatively newborn baby boy, and trying to be a loving Mom.... That was really NOT the case AT ALL....
Lu is a single Mom to Riley. She does have a significant other, Tony, but they are not married... and, he seems to care more about taking care of HIMSELF, than anything at all about her... She is EXTREMELY sleep deprived, and basically ***SCREAMING*** for help...but no-one, and I do mean absolutely NO-ONE hears her!! Not her love. Not her brother or sister-in-law. Not even her Mom. Lu is basically all on her own. All of the time....
To add gasoline onto the fire... Tony works at night! So, when she's supposed to be sleeping...she can't.. because Riley wakes up...pretty often...pretty much every...single...night...
In addition, they have just moved into a new place.... and, there's a guy a few houses down who insists on BLASTING his music at the highest level possible, until all hours of the night. Not helping at all with her sleep deprivation...
OH...and she's also noted to have vivid daydreams of murder! Murdering the people who annoy her the most! In horrible ways, and with horrible attention to details...
So one night, when she finds herself locked out of her home, AND covered in blood... Well, to say the least, she's not sure what happened.... Amazingly, her neighbor's sister comes to the rescue...as she said her brother always had a spare key for the old neighbors, and well, it still works.... And so this neighbor, Maggie, and Lu ... well, they bond. And, they become very close. And, Maggie allows her to get...some...sleep!
Lu is BEYOND thrilled! She's made a new friend. She's getting some sleep! Things are definitely getting better... UNTIL .....more people start disappearing!
This was a Psychological Thriller on steroids! It was scary. It was dark. And the more you read, the more things seemed to be spinning out of control!!!
