Batman: The Long Halloween: The Last Halloween #4 is a DC Comics issue written by Jeph Loeb, art by Cliff Chiang, and colors by Dave Stewart.

When Batman arrives back to the Batcave on the edge of death, it is up to Robin and Alfred to save him.

This issue of the maxiseries is predominantly from Robin’s point of view. So far we are four issues into the series and I’m still not entirely sure what the main story is, but I have been enjoying it nonetheless. I trust Jeph Loeb as he is one of the all time best Batman writers. Cliff Chiang tackles art duty on this installment and he does a fantastic job. I really enjoy how innocent and full of hope his Robin is portrayed. I’m already really anticipating rereading this when the series is done to see how the art flows from one issue to the next. So far, I think Tim Sale would be really proud of how this is turning out.

A nice look into Bruce pretty much out of commission and this universe's Robin taking up the reigns to save his mentor/father figure. It's touching, some great moments with Alfred, and always liked Loeb's Catwoman. The last reveal is okay but rest was great.

The best single issue yet. The plot is taking its time coming together but Loeb is such a strong writer, particularly of narrative voice, that I just trust the process. The different artists have done a great job of maintaining Sale’s original vision while tossing in some of their own herbs and spices each issue.

2024 - Year of The Bat (366 Days of Batman)

Day 366: Great book to end my Year of The Bat. So far, I think this series is the best possible tribute to Tim Sale.

Just read issues 1-4 of The Last Halloween and i definitely love the series so far! This is really setting up a good mystery. I think the first 4 issues of this is better than the start of Dark Victory. I think Robin is being used very well, especially as a young version of the character, with only a year or so under his belt. I’ve loved his interactions with Catwoman, and that scene in issue 4 ❤️ The art in these issues is great, switching artists each issue gives a fresh take on the story and the design. I’m definitely intrigued with this story and cannot wait for issue 5!

This issue has been my favorite so far. The bigger picture takes a bit of a backseat, allowing space for an important aspect of the story to shine. On top of that, it’s illustrated by Cliff Chiang. What more could you want?

Robin is so sweet in this. Really loving this series, but I’m finding it difficult to remember exact details of the plot issue to issue. I’ll probably reread the entire line in one sitting when the final issue comes out.

Sad to say that this has been the weakest issue so far. With six issues to go, readers won't be fooled by the idea of Batman possibly dying. It just doesn't fit the story well, and it is drawn out for far too long in the issue. It does set up something very interesting, however . . .

I have faith in Loeb. The next issue should seal the deal. I'm sticking with it to the end regardless. Loeb is a master storyteller, and he is not prone to mistakes. I don't think this is where he starts, either.

Batman The Last Halloween and Batman Dark Victory are easily in my top 5 comics of all time. As a fan, I'm not sure we needed another title as a trilogy. I know Batman The Long Halloween The Last Halloween is a "cash grab" for a limited series that was incredible 20+ yrs ago, but that does not necessarily mean that it will b awful. Issue number 4 is incredible! This title, so far, is worth every accolade. I question whether we needed this sequel, like do we NEED a Back to the Future 4?
