Cassius

I’m in love with my best friend and he doesn’t even know it.

While everyone else can see how gone I am for Skylar, the man himself has no clue. I’ve always done everything in my power to show him how much I love him and prove to him that I’m the one for him.

After one bad breakup between him and his latest fling, he decides he needs to build the perfect boyfriend, and who else is going to help him besides me?

But this is my shot. It’s my chance to show Skylar that the real thing has been in front of him the entire time.

Now, there’s nothing that’s going to keep me from claiming what’s rightfully mine.

French 75 is dual-pov, friends-to-lovers romance. With pining, a bit of hurt/comfort, and lots of XO content, French 75 will leave you panting for more. This is the third in a series of interconnected standalones featuring the workers of club XO as they try to find their HEAs.

spice: 🌶️🌶🌶🌶/5
format: ebook

”i’ll give him all of me until there’s nothing left, and even then, i’ll find bottomless depths for him. my sunshine.”

the third book and my most anticipated couple of this series absolutely ate and left zero crumbs.

childhood best friends and foster brothers skylar and cassius have been close their entire lives, which is also about the amount of time that cassius has been in love with skylar. this gives major pining/unrequited love with a very oblivious mc. things come to a head when skylar, frustrated from a long string of bad relationships, asks cassius to help him make a list to build the perfect boyfriend.
“he chooses men who will only break him until he’s nothing left but shattered pieces to glue back together. and every day is torture waiting for him to choose me.”

let’s talk about the filth—i mean spice. so, so hot. we get delicious degradation and fem kink, lacy lingerie, some mild dom/sub themes, and “princess” as a pet name. i also loved how when they weren’t actively tearing each other’s clothes off, they were super cuddly and snuggly with each other. you know, as best bros sometimes are. the alternation of sweet and spicy just totally did it for me and i ate it all up.
“‘fuck me. if you need to breathe at any point, pinch my thigh. if not, fucking take it like the whore you are.’
and with that, i make myself a home in my best friend’s mouth.”

of course, xo shenanigans ensue, and we get to visit with our favorite couples from the previous books. the found family aspects of this series is one of my very favorites. i love how close everyone stays throughout each story, but they’re all still written in a way that makes these books excellent standalone novels too. i also cannot wait for some of the future couples that were hinted about in this book. i’m still trying to figure out exactly where butch fits. plus i was so excited to see a beloved character from another of addison’s books pop up in this world! i’m eager to see who he ends up with…

i have been waiting for sky and cassy since i read the first book. the crumbs sprinkled throughout dirty martini and whiskey sour had me chomping at the bit for them, and i can safely say they delivered everything i hoped they would. still to this day i cannot choose a favorite book or couple from this series. i love them all so much, equally (but my crush on knox is still undefeated i fear).

”it’s not that i can’t imagine life without him, i just refuse to. a world without cassius is a world of darkness and pain. no comfort. no sanity. no love. a world i don’t think i’d fit into very well.”

*i received a free, advanced copy of this book from the author and this is my voluntary, honest review.

nothing says platonic besties like bursting into the bathroom to join them in the shower unannounced, letting them scrub ur whole body, which includes ur dick and bending over to let them wash ur asshole with their fingers….like?🙄💀💀 i’m a bitch that LIVES for oblivious idiots in love but this was actually a level of oblivious that truly shouldn’t be possible. no one is THAT blinded by their insecurities or could possibly make THAT many excuses of codependency. it’s actually insane. an almost evil level of ignorance for someone you already so deeply care about. and i love suspending disbelief but there’s not enough disbelief in the world for the shit they make excuses for.

and another lying subplot? i could have screamed!! at least it didn’t end in a dramatic third act break up, but i was still so fucking annoyed that it didn’t matter. cassius lied AND broke his promise to skylar that he wouldn’t fight anymore, but skylar breezes over that AND encourages him to keep fighting. huh??? that sounds so out of character to me. why the hell wasn’t skylar bawling his eyes out and begging cassius not to fight bc he can’t stand to see him hurt?? and isn’t cassius desperate to be doing the MOST to be worthy of skylar and yet he’s putting that in jeopardy to fight?? for some spare cash that they really don’t even need, it’s mostly just about cass wanting that sense of control that he couldn’t get while helplessly enduring unrequited love for his bestie but then, even after they had an understanding of those feelings being returned, cass still goes and fights?? and now cassius and skylar are together, but apparently it’s still a thing cass NEEDS bc he’s just addicted to it and it’s something that’s just his own bc everything else in his entire life is skylar, so it’s all good as long as he doesn’t lie about it to skylar and now he’s doing legal boxing matches….okayyy ig…like am i the only one side-eying this shit….like you started it for one reason, that reason is gone, but now ur addicted to the feeling it gives you bc you’ve basically given up ur entire self to skylar even to ur own detriment and instead of adjusting the balance of the relationship to be more fulfilling, you’re sticking with ur original coping mechanism?? riiighhtttt…..

idk this whole book felt off….like skylar making a list of how a good boyfriend must treat him (using cassius to make each revelation but somehow still being impossibly ignorant of cassius as boyfriend material, like couldn’t even equate his list of perfect boyfriend qualities and cassius together even tho he’s LITERALLY getting the ideas for the list from him and cassius fucking around😭), but then skylar only thinking about being good boyfriend material to cassius ONCE and that was the prom-posal/offical boyfriends moment…like the development from skylar was basically crickets and felt so unbalanced. like what was even the point of having skylar’s pov when he immediately chalks everything up to codependent besties and business as usual and doesn’t even think about even the POSSIBILITY of having deeper feelings for cassius until 70%!!! and then he’s in love! what the fuck! i’m not buying a single fucking thing. been in love this whole time, my ass.

remember when cassius said he wasn’t gonna go all the way with skylar until skylar knew his feelings and he could make love to him??? specifically:

I don’t just want a dirty, quick fuck where I degrade him. I want to… Jesus Christ, I want to make love to him. When I slide into him for the first time, I want it to be because he can recognize my feelings for him. Because he’s realized that I’m the one.

and then they go all the way for the first time ON THE COUCH (perfect place to make love🙄) and i’m getting this:

▪️“Use me. Fuck me like a toy. Make me cry.”
▪️There’s no grace about this, barely any love, nothing that even hints at the tenderness [Cassius] feels for me. He’s an animal, brutal and unforgiving, and I’m the dirty slut he gets to breed.
▪️“Open that pretty mouth and be nasty for me. Let me know what you want.”
▪️[Cassius] spits on my face, and I moan, my eyes rolling to the back of my head. “More. I need more than that.” “You want to be marked?” he questions. “You get my spit, my cum. What is it you want, sunshine? Want me to piss inside this sloppy pussy?”
▪️“Slap me, Cass. Fucking slap me.”

and did. like huh? what happened to not wanting it to be a dirty, quick fuck where you degrade him???😭😭😭😭 this shit was all over the damn place and nothing was adding up. and they ended that whole session with skylar 0% closer to recognizing cassius’s feelings for him. okay😭 like literally skylar doesn’t have a single thought about what he and cassius are doing the entire book until it all of the sudden dawns on him that he’s in love with cassius. giving very much ~hope you’re hungry…for nothing!!!~ like i’m a besties to lovers stan and this is a crime!

also, i got annoyed at all the rhys/everest & elton/knox content like omfg we get it, they’re soulmates in love and wanna fuck all the time like can we get back to main event pls😭 i don’t need y’all running into the previous books’ mcs giving bjs in the bushes, i really don’t💀

the problem is that i’m still intrigued enough to read a book about max/davis and also about butch even tho i think i’ve well established that this author’s writing isn’t for me.

French75? More like French “What the hell did I just read?”

I came in ready for romance, yearning, artful angst. Skylar and Cassius had been lurking in the background of Miami Nights and Club Lights like forbidden fanfic waiting to be written. I was starving for their story. And what did I get? I got baited. Bamboozled. Emotionally catfished by glitter and gay panic.

Skylar, sweetie… you’re not “innocent.” You’re not “confused.” You’re weaponized chaos in crop tops. You cannot storm into someone’s shower, spread your cheeks like it’s Tuesday on OnlyFans, and then be like, “Haha, what? I’m just a friend! Teehee!” BABY. WHICH FRIENDS DO THAT? I have never handed a loofah to a bestie and said, “Mind hitting the hole while you’re there?” Bitch, be so serious.

And poor Cassius. This man is a walking heartbreak mixtape. He’s sitting there being a rock, a support system, the human equivalent of a weighted blanket—and Skylar’s out here chasing every emotionally toxic man with an Instagram account and trauma playlist, completely ignoring the man who would literally die for him. Like… HELLO? The love of your life is right here, not in that emotionally unavailable ahole with commitment issues!

And the sexual tension? There was none. The sex scenes felt like two Sims glitched into a hot tub with zero coordination and a lot of tragic eye contact. Cassius tried to turn up the heat with some sudden dominance, but baby, it landed like a middle school theater performance of Fifty Shades of Beige. I wasn’t turned on—I was concerned.

It had the bones of a perfect disaster: angst, slow burn, pining, power imbalance, pretty twink with emotional damage. I should’ve been screaming, crying, throwing up—instead, I was side-eyeing the pages like they owed me therapy bills. There was no emotional payoff, no real groveling, just a lot of “Oops, did I make you hard again?” followed by absolutely nothing that felt earned.

By the time I was halfway through, I started rooting for a third love interest to kidnap Cassius and give him the actual love story he deserved. Or for Skylar to go to therapy. Or both. At this point, I’m not picky.

In conclusion: 0 out of 5 loofahs. Somebody please get Skylar a clue, get Cassius a backbone.

Skylar + Cassius 🖤
Best friends | Oblivious MC | Pining | Codependent AF

Cassy and Skylar were my favorite couple ever since we met them in Dirty Martini. Unfortunately though their story didn't quite hit right for me. I was disappointed. Some of it just didn't seem to fit their original vibe and felt forced.

....

"I know deep in my gut that no one will ever love Skylar the way I do. Wholly. Without conditions. Without restraint. I just wish he would love me back."

"Running my tongue across his bottom lip, I tease him a little. It’s not weird; Cassius and I are these types of friends. Some friends like to hug, and we like to make out every now and then. It’s healthy, even."

“From now on, I take care of you,” I growl, slowly working up his shirt to expose his creamy pale skin. “No one touches you but me. You want to come, sunshine? You know exactly who’s going to get you there.”

“Need to come on this pussy. Hold yourself open for me, sunshine. Let me see that pretty pink hole of yours.” He whimpers, body jerking as he does what I say. Spreading his cheeks, he wags his ass in the air like a treat, and I finally catch my first glimpse of his beautiful little asshole. Fuck, it’s perfect, just like the rest of him.

"He doesn’t think I’m a burden or taking up too much space. He protects me from other’s opinions of me. He’s at my side, no matter what. Without him, the dark thoughts win, but he’s a pro at fighting them off for me."

"His weakest parts are safe with me. I’ll cradle them in my hands and shield them from the rest of the world because that’s what love is."

"Maybe it’s a touch codependent— the way I rely on him so much— but I need him. It’s not that I can’t imagine life without him, I just refuse to. A world without Cassius is a world of darkness and pain. No comfort. No sanity. No love."

"Because we’re not just best friends, we’re not just boyfriends, we’re soulmates."

Oh this book did things to me 🫠

So, Cassius & Skylar are best friends since they were little. They have the most special bond and their chemistry and understanding for each other is so deeply and intimate, it was so great to read about.

But I gotta say, Skylar is so oblivious to certain things it's kind of funny 🤭 Cassius is always there for him and I love him for that. The two of them were incredibly hot, sweet, tender and chaotic together and I enjoyed every second of it.

Not my fave.

However, give me some Elton, and I'm a happy, happy girl.🦩

I found Skylar and Cassius to be tediously frustrating most of the time. Because there's oblivious, and then there's OBLIVIOUS. But, all in all, I adore this found family so much. So I still had a good time reading their book.

Also, shout out to Max. Welcome to the family!

🌶️🌶️

Ahhhh Cass and Sky. Cassius and Skylar. My boys. My sweet, angel, baby boys. If you’ve read Dirty Martini, and Whiskey Sour, you’d know that these two best friends have a very.. close relationship. Let’s break it down. What we know, and what’s to come!

Cass and Skylar are foster brothers. They’re insanely codependent, always have been. They’ve been together since they were literal children. Live together, work together, do EVERYTHING together.

Sky is looking for love in all the wrong places. The men he meets treat him poorly, and this negatively affects his self esteem. He’s my very sensitive boy. He has big feelings. And he shows them. Often.

Cass. Cass has been in love with his bestie for as long as he can remember. So when Skylar decides he’s taking a break on dating to make a “to do or not to do” list, Cass volunteers to help him out. Of course he does. Even at the expense of his happiness. Whatever it takes to make Skylar happy. That’s all he cares about.

These two are comfortable, familiar, and completely at ease around one another already, so all of the intimacy comes easy to them. But Cass is determined to show the love of his life that HE is the perfect man for him.. no matter what it takes.

It was so good to be back with all the previous XO characters in this story, as they play a huge part in this book, and Cass & Sky’s relationship. My baby Elton being hilarious and making me fall in love with him even more. 🥹

Also, seeing Max and his love interest 👀 gave me SO MANY QUESTIONS. I need the answers because there was so much PIE 😂

As usual, it was lovely to be back with this crew, and these characters, and I truly hope Cass & Sky live out their wildest dreams together. They’re soulmates. No other way to put it.

Almost as good as the first two, but not quite.

We've been waiting for Skyler and Cassius to get their shit together since book one and they finally did!

Only....it still took a long ass time in this very book for that to happen.

I wish Skyler had realized his feelings earlier and then the rest of the book was them navigating a relationship, a change from best friends to lovers.

Instead, they were practically - and then fully - lovers already without Skyler's realization, so his realization wasn't that big of a deal and it flowed naturally into a relationship. Which is all fine and good, but it just meant it took forever for him to realize - around or just past 80% long! - he was in love with Cassius. And because it was so late into the book, it didn't take much for him to accept it, he just kind of felt bad for being so oblivious to it and unintentionally hurting Cassius because of it.

Cassius never said anything, he confessed nothing and just waited and waited and waited for Skyler to realize (after 12 years of seemingly unrequited love he was just waiting even longer, apparently!) and I wanted more from that. I wanted a big confession and some drama where Skyler denies it for a time before realizing his own feelings and then the rest is navigating a new relationship changing from 'platonic' besties to more.

We didn't really get that. Instead they were full on fucking and and they're SO co-dependent it's crazy and there is no one without the other and yet Skyler thinks....he'll find a boyfriend he loves as much or more than Cassius? Lol that wasn't very believable.

Also this "boyfriend" list didn't really go anywhere, or at least not much was done with it.

Like it's apparently the whole premise for which is the catalyst for their relationship to change, but the list isn't really that big of a feature in this. It's in the book here and there and we're halfheartedly shown once or twice them doing something Skyler should expect from a good boyfriend, but it's very short lived. I just expected more from the apparent main plot point in this story.

Not to say all this to mean I didn't enjoy this, because I did. We've felt their chemistry from book one and overall, it didn't disappoint in this one. I LOVED their co-dependence and Cassius' overprotectiveness and how they rarely did anything without the other and it was these two for life, no question. The chemistry shined through, and when we did get to sex between them it was sizzling hot and I LOVED it.

Who knew these two besties in love would be so dirty and rough and raunchy in bed. Cassius surprised me the most, as he had more to him than we we saw previously. He loves fighting and letting out anger, aggression and more through physical fighting, and this cool, calm and collected guy has a beast just wanting to be let out at times. He's also rough with Skyler in bed (Skyler LOVES it, don't worry!) and is quite dominant and it was hot AF. The one time they make love, though, I loved just as much as the other times. It was sweet and intense and passionate, and it was one of the best scenes in the book, especially with Skyler's realization.

So yeah, there were some points where this fell short, but overall it was still very enjoyable and I still very much recommend this.

And I will say, despite my niggles with this book, it is still one of the best friends to lovers I've read in awhile. The chemistry was scorching and these two clicked so well together. And their backstory was sad but also so sweet, how they've stuck together through thick and thin through so much for so many years. They're really each other's person and I love that.

(Side note: I would have liked to have known their age. All we got is that Skyler has worked at the night club for 6 years, and if we go with him getting the job legally when he turned 21, then the best I can assume is he and Cassius are 27ish. I just wish we were told that instead of me having to guess - like could they have started at the club before 21 (Davis is shifty - a criminal - so I could see him hiring them younger than 21) or after 21...who knows! - and we know Cassius has been in love with Skyler for 12 years, and he said he loved Skyler that way since they discovered sex, which...15 is around puberty, I guess. But do we know exactly when Cassius realized feelings? Nope! So yeah, just another little niggle I wish had been cleared up. Unspecified ages and timelines tend to annoy me quite a bit.)

So yeah, quite a few niggles, but still a very solid installment in this series.

Now, I'm getting vibes between the boss, Davis and a new employee introduced in this book, Max...but there also seemed to be something with Butch, the head bouncer/bodyguard guy...and if that means a threesome/poly book...*sigh* well that'll just be a skip for me. I hope Butch gets another guy - Archibald, Knox's brother, perhaps?! - as that is a possibility, but also there were potential hints at Butch possibly having something for Max as well, so...I sense it might going the poly direction, which will be a bummer. I hope I'm wrong, though!

But we shall see.

Until then! 😘

French 75 is book three in the Miami Nights and Club Lights series. This MM best friends to lovers romance story is about Cassius and Skylar.

I was very excited and looking forward to Cassius and Skylar’s story, especially after meeting them in the previous books in this series. Cassius is the brooding DJ that has been secretly in love with Skylar. Skylar is the happy sunshine bartender at club XO. These two were foster brothers, escaping their horrible foster home when they turned eighteen. They have a very special and unique friendship.

Cassius and Skylar live together and work at club XO. They are very codependent. When Skylar gets upset and frustrated with one bad relationship after the next, he asks for Cassius to help him make a list to build the perfect boyfriend. Cassius thinks this is his opportunity to prove to Skylar that he is the perfect boyfriend.

I loved seeing Cassius and Skylar going on dates, with Cassius treating Skylar the way he deserved. It was hard to see how truly insecure Skylar was, but Cassius was always there to help him fight those dark thoughts away. Cassius and his unconditional love for Skylar was everything.

Things definitely got spicy with these two. I loved their sexual dynamic. I also enjoyed their sweet moments too. It was easy to see Cassius and Skylar shared a special bond and connection. I will say I did think Skylar was a bit too oblivious and I did get a little impatient with how long it took him to realize his true feelings for Cassius. But thankfully he did because they were perfect for each other. Cassius and Skylar have such a great found family, and it was great to get more of the guys from this series.

Cassius and Skylar certainly deserved each other and all the happiness. I enjoyed their best friends to lovers story, and I hope we will get more of this series.

I received an advanced copy of this book, and this is my honest review.

Revised— 3⭐️ 3.5🌶️

I was so ready for this story since the first book because Cass & Skylar’s chemistry was so obvious. I think a lot of people were put off because there’s quite a bit of miscommunication, concealed truths, and an MC that has been hopelessly in love for 12 years but hasn’t voiced that. There’s also a mild feminization kink that might not be everyone’s cup of tea but I ate it up—it’s also in the content warnings, so it’s not like it’s a surprise.

Cass and Skylar were everything. Their love and possessiveness of each other was on another level. I love how protective Cass is and how emotional and sensitive Skylar is. The road to their HEA took some time, but they got there and it was worth it! I ate this up.

4.5⭐️/5

Friends to lovers, codependency, pining, possessiveness…need I say more? Cassius & Skylar were my most anticipated couple in this series and they did not disappoint! Just the right amount of spice, pining, hurt/comfort, plot, etc. Overall so well-rounded! Idk what Addison puts in her books but I can’t get enough!

I was genuinely so excited to finally read Skye and Cassie’s story. After everything we saw in Dirty Martini and Whiskey Sour, it was clear their bond ran deep, and I couldn’t wait to see all the slow-burn tension come to life. And to be fair, the beginning had me hooked — the platonic cuddles and little touches? Total weakness of mine, and the book delivered that beautifully.

But after such a strong start, things started to wobble. The writing got a bit repetitive — certain phrases and word choices popped up so often that the flow felt clunky compared to Beck’s usual style. I also struggled to connect with the characters; they stayed pretty surface-level for me, when I was hoping for more emotional depth to really sink into.

Plot-wise, this is definitely one of those stories where one good conversation could have solved everything — and while I don’t mind a little miscommunication to build tension, it dragged on longer than necessary here. It made the conflict feel a bit forced, which took some of the emotional impact away for me.

All in all, it had a lot of potential (and moments I genuinely enjoyed!), but it just didn’t land as strongly as I had hoped.

One quote to summarize this book: “I’ll let him take and take from me until I’m stripped bare, and I’ll come back every time for more.”

Cass and Skylar grew up in foster care together and I was expecting some one-sided pining since they were close like brothers or whatever. BUT ACTUALLY Cass is the kind of best friend who makes out with you when you’re sad and washes your b-hole for you in the shower… Skylar, how in the world are you this oblivious my guy?! It had to be absolute torture for Cass. I basically expect to spend like 50% of the books in this series being super annoyed with one of the MCs and while Skylar wasn’t being intentionally cruel, it was hard not to be pissed at him for being almost willfully obtuse and using Cass without a thought for how his actions hurt him. Cass molds himself into whatever Skylar needs, but what about what HE needs? Before I get lost in a rant… I did really enjoy when the whole crew was together. Knox’ clumsy attempt at making friends was endearing. He honestly gets the situation better than anyone, so they should be besties. Max’ himbo self was a great addition. I’m… conflicted. While I loved parts of this and was satisfied with the ending, it just took TOO DAMN LONG for Skylar to have his big come to Jesus moment. Like I both loved and hated it? Idk 🤷‍♀️ All of the boys’ books in this series have frustrated me, but this one more so than the others.

"I tremble with fear and pleasure because I can’t believe it’s taken this long. Everything I know shifts. Everything I denied comes to light. Everything beautiful and painful and memorable and cruel washes over me. Because I’m in love with my best friend."

French 75 is book 3 in the Miami Nights and Club Lights series by Addison Beck. The books are a series of interconnected standalones featuring the workers of club XO as they search for their HEAs. This is Cass and Skylar's story.

What To Expect:

❥ Dual POV
❥ MM romance
❥ Best friend to lovers
❥ Size difference
❥ Hurt/comfort
❥ Found family
❥ All the steam
❥ HEA

Loved all the cameos from the previous books, and the introducton of Max who is going to bring an added layer of spice to later installments with Davis and Butch I am sure....

I struggled with the constant miscommunication, everyone can see it but him trope - so if you are not a fan of that trope, just be aware.

Oh, you codependent idiots! Skylar, you oblivious, little princess you. Man, I really just wanted to shake both these characters for 70% of this book! I think that just made the book so much better! I was so invested in these two.

Cass being in love with Skylar for 12 years was so heartbreaking. Waiting in the background for his friend to notice him?! 12 years?!

Their story was long and winding but so adorable, and they found their way in the end. Loved this book ♥️

Ps. Max! I loved having Max pop up in this series, and I can't wait for that loveable himbo's story!

Overall I had fun reading this but it was also very predictable and repetitive. I was so impressed with the first half, getting to see the relationship dynamics between Skyler and Cassy… however the build up was so stretched out that when both of them were finally on the same page, it was all so underwhelming.

Their found family is cute tho and maybe I’ll come back to this world just to see what goes on between Davis, max and Butch??!!!

With an 8-count pour of friends to lovers, a dash of pining, and pinch of codependency, and a drop of found family, French 75 has an amazing taste that already has me wanting to come back for seconds. This series has truly been hit after hit with each even better than the last.

Cassius and Skylar had me so excited for their story just through their interactions in the first two books, and they did not disappoint. There truly is nothing better than pining, and Cassius was practically drowning in it. And while it was painful, it was easy to see how much he was willing to embrace that pain. I loved how much he cared for Skylar.

I’ve adored Skylar since the beginning, and seeing the hidden sides of him made me adore him even more. I loved diving into the depths and layers that made him up, which had me both laughing and crying.

These two together made sense. They fit each other so well, there truly was no one else for either of them.

I’m so ready for whatever is coming next, especially if it involves a certain adorable himbo.

I received an advanced copy and this is my voluntary review.

Characters: Cassius and Skylar

I'm obsessed with every book in this series.

I've been itching for this book since the very beginning. I knew I was going to love Cass and Sky's story. One sided pining and codependency are two things that will always be weaknesses of mine. Add in the fact that Sky wears lingerie, the degradation and feminization and then that Cass is a fighter...it's like this book was written specifically for me.

I don't want to give away a single thing about this story, how these two finally get together, or their backgrounds. I usually try to give you an idea of the story but because this story is so completely focused on their relationship, I'm keeping it extremely vague. These two are perfect together. There is a lot of growth for both of them on their own and together. Skylar has had a lot of screen time in the other books, so we got to see a lot of his character, but I feel like Cass was still a bit of a mystery. I've been intrigued by his character from the very start and this book successfully made me obsessed with him. I loved him so much more than I expected to.

If you have enjoyed the first two books in this series, then you'll probably enjoy this one as well. You get lots of moments with the other characters making appearances and it follows the same tone. Even if you don't normally love friends to lovers, I'd highly suggest giving it a chance.

I loved this from start to finish and never wanted it to end.
I am so excited for what's next!

I have been eagerly waiting for Skylar and Cassius’ story since reading Dirty Martini. These boys have been my favourite characters through the series and Addison didn’t disappoint.

I absolutely loved French 75 and it was heartwarming to see Cassius finally chosen by Skylar. These boys were soulmates, it just took Skylar a while to catch up and realise what he was looking for was in front of him the entire time. God Cass has the patience of a saint, he was always there for Skylar without hesitation.

I didn’t expect Cassius to be so dominating in the bedroom, but man was I here for it.

It was so good to see the club XO gang together again

Side note and special mention to Max, the most adorable oblivious himbo. Max & Davis story is going to be so good!!

Skylar with Cass POV :

“He groans against my mouth, but then bites down roughly on my bottom lip, forcing my jaw to drop in a gasp. Fucking his tongue into me, he squeezes my wrists and yanks them farther up the door.”

Also Skylar right after that :

“He really is the greatest friend anyone could ask for”

boy be for real😭

It’s Skylar and Cassius’s turn! In the last few books we’ve watched Skylar date terrible guy. They treat him horribly and always end up breaking his heart. While his best friend, Cassius, stays on the sidelines hopelessly in love with Skylar. Cassius and Skylar have been best friends for a long time. There is no one closer than them. But Cassius is too afraid to tell Skylar how he feels. He has made himself believe that he can be there for Skylar in any shape or form, even if it breaks his heart more and more when Skylar refuses to see what is right in front of him. Because the perfect man Skylar is looking for is Cassius. He just needs to open his eyes and see that. But Cassius is also patient. And he knows that despite being afraid to tell Skylar, he also knows that Skylar has to come to this realization himself. He has to choose Cassius. So he’ll wait. And an opportunity has finally arrived that has Cassius hoping their time has finally come. Skylar is determined to make a list to make the perfect boyfriend and he wants Cassius’s help. Cassius decides to show Skylar what it could be like when the right guy comes along and maybe Skylar will finally see Cassius is the one for him. These two! You just wanna shake Skylar to make him see what’s in front of him. These two act more and more like boyfriends throughout the book and even then, Skylar can’t admit to himself that he too is in love with his best friend. But with both their pasts, it’s understandable. And as much as you want to be like their friends who are tip toeing the edge of being blunt with Skylar, you get why Cassius has to wait. And it becomes so much more satisfying when Skylar finally sees what is in front of him. Really enjoyed this story! We also had a new character who had me in stitches and there is definitely going on with him and a certain someone. So I will need that story asap! But overall, another great story to this series!

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Cass and Skylar are best friends. Have been forever. Cass has also been in love with bright and sunny Skylar for as long as he can remember. Problem is, Skylar keeps going for awful men who never treat him right, and Cassius is too chicken to speak up about his own feelings towards Skylar.

This book follows the absolutely insane whirlwind of Cass falling into self-destructive behaviours as he pursues Skylar without actually SAYING that he’s trying to go after him, and the oblivious yet horny shenanigans of Skylar.

Things you’ll find in this book:
-friends to lovers
-miscommunication/ secret keeping
-side character appearances from previous books
-feminization and rough s*x
-unrequited love and pining
-drama

This book was good. I love pining, so I especially enjoyed the first half of the book. As it went on, some of the drama seemed a little petty, but I liked the book overall!

The amount of times I had an eye roll during reading this book… Skyler, babe, you need to get out of the delulu land like right now. Eh, it’s just not believable.

It was nice to see the characters from previous books. Knox and Elton are my favorites. Whatever stars I am giving are probably more for their sake.

When are we getting Davis and Max book though??
