This profound spiritual work invites readers to immerse themselves in the final 24 hours of Jesus Christ’s earthly life, as revealed through the mystical writings of Luisa Piccarreta, an Italian mystic and Servant of God. Structured hour by hour, this meditation recounts the events of the Passion—from the agony in the Garden of Gethsemane to Jesus’ death on the Cross and His burial—bringing the reader into a deeper union with Christ's suffering and love.
Each hour is filled with heartfelt prayers, reflections, and insights designed to inspire repentance, gratitude, and love for the sacrifice of Jesus. Written under divine inspiration, the book is intended to help believers meditate on the immense love and pain endured by Christ for the salvation of humanity.
This book is a cherished devotional text, particularly suited for use during Lent and Holy Week, but its timeless themes make it a powerful aid for prayer and contemplation throughout the year. Perfect for anyone seeking a closer relationship with Christ through the mystery of His Passion.
I liked the structure of this book with meditating on the 24 hours of the passion and interceding for specific intentions, however the style was overall too melodramatic in my opinion. It was hard to truly enter into prayer and dialogue with God because it was so over the top and extreme, which is not natural to me. This book could likely be more fruitful to other people, but it wasn’t really for me.
