I’m dropping this at 87% (chapter 57). The characters just don’t make sense anymore. How can the ML change this much? The beginning was okay but then… 🤦🏻♀️

Closer to 4.3 but bumping to 5 because I was so annoyed at reader comments that the novel seemed good in comparison. Will probably look back and question why I put a 5 LOL but for now it was well written/translated (in the sense I had to keep reading) and it made me feel for the characters.
ML is NOT a scum in the normal sense of wife-chasing crematoriums etc. I refuse to read novels in which the ML is a utter a-hole but I also hate MLs that are complete suckers for MCs the moment MC appears- especially given the context in which their relationship started. ML here is not a nice guy, but I would say its seeded really early on that things aren't as they appear. He's also extremely consistent in his characterization and not OP- so yes there's a lot of angst that stems from slip ups. The MC on the other hand has gone through a lot. We know he has to deal with the aftermath of a shitty setting (and luckily ML also catches on fairly quickly), and is quite realistic in a lot of his reactions- though the author seems to forget his role as a smart lawyer at times when it suits the plot. Translator has a note that ML is not a scum but he's a walking red flag. Which is very true- but somehow the two (MC and ML fit together well). Their life experiences don't really allow for different and ML time and time again allows for MC to actually live.
If confused about whether you want to read it- check out other reviews in NU, it's really about what you get out of a novel built on having very little true facts for a while, a really annoying villain, and two stubborn protagonists that aren't OP or fluffy or remotely nice people, but somehow bridge world rules and shitty circumstances to come together

Su cambio de 180°, aunque ooc, lo salva un poco. El MC estuvo bien y fue consistente mi unico problema es que nunca me crei que estuviera particularmente enamorado del ML?
en lineas generales estuvo muy bien, fue entretenida y ya.

Lately my reading choices have just been trash. I keep dropping novels at a daily rate.
This novel was not satisfying in terms of wife crematorium at all! I was totally misled.
The story is so meh and to make things worse the MC and ML have the chemistry of a toothpick.
This was wasted from the beginning. Other reviews on NU say it only gets worse from where I stopped.
