Love & The Grave

Rate this book
He would love her even from the grave.Julian Danes and Vivienne Salter have been in love since they were children. However, in high society where Julian’s dangerous reputation precedes him and Vivienne’s father has other plans for her, it cannot be.

The walls of the formidable Salter Estate are high and well guarded, but it doesn’t stop the pair from their clandestine meetings, no matter the risk.

Between Julian’s neglectful father wishing he was dead and Vivienne’s parents beating her for every misstep, they need to escape. When a forced engagement disrupts their plans to run off into the sunset, it ends with blood on their hands. A kill that ignites the bloodlust in both of them.

They would die for love, but they’d rather kill everyone else instead…

This spicy gothic romance takes place in the wider universe of Tales From The Western Tides but is a standalone novel. It's a serial killer Romeo and Juliet re-imagining full of lemonade, obsessive love, worms, and of course, murder.

I really wanted to love this. I was sold by the review that read "when Romeo & Juliet meets Bonnie & Clyde" and the beginning of the book certainly reflects that. However, to be totally honest, I found the middle of the book to drag and be quite boring. Vivienne has an accident that consumes a good chunk of time recovering. I didn't like the pages just describing her in bed, being seen by a Dr or watched over by Julian. The book ended well and tied everything together. It's clear that Julian & Vivienne are infatuated with each other, but I didn't feel the same about them.

You've probably read books about forbidden love before, but Love & the Grave combines that with the most captivating leads, the most stunning descriptions, epic hotness, and a delightful twistedness to tie it all together.

You'll feel Romeo and Juliet vibes, but you also feel Heathers vibes, and the combination is pure perfection!

This book was totally out of my normal scope but I am SO glad I got this ARC! It was incredible! I couldn’t help but love the characters even though they both were so morally twisted. I was on the edge of my seat and couldn’t put it down.

Loved this book. I really loved that they weren’t shy and saying sorry for finding their own way out. And their own way out is to kill. Murder and love what’s better!!

I loved the story and the concept behind it. For me it gave Romeo & Juliet meets Bonnie & Clyde vibes and it was great. It was a little slow moving at times, but overall I enjoyed it!!
