Watercolor Tears is the first book in the All the Pretty Colors Duet—a captivating Why Choose romance where the main character doesn’t have to settle for just one man. Lucky her, right? But fair warning… this emotional, steamy journey ends on a cliffhanger that will leave you reaching for book two the second you turn the final page.
Plot: 3/5 • Smut: 2.5/5 ———-> This is a fast paced insta-love RH. When I say fast paced, I mean fast paced. She was down and dirty with two of the four brothers in Chapter 1. It took a while to gain momentum again after the first three chapters. It took a dive. However, it picked back up near the mid point. Where we finally get (physically) introduced to the other two brothers. The smut was okay. Just an okay for me. I prefer a little more grit to it, but that’s just personal opinion.
This is a quick and easy read about Avery, the FMC, and how she meets the Knight brothers. I am not a huge insta love fan but I did find Jax and Liam very earnest as well as being so open that I was rooting for them straight away. I struggled with Kam and Lennox a bit though as I found it odd they were all kept apart for so long in a relatively short book. Them catching feelings after seeing Avery sleeping on Jax would have been gold in an omegaverse setting in my opinion but it didn't quite work for me in a more contemporary story. I found the narrative of Avery having to choose between potentially moving away from her home and business to pursue a longer term relationship much more interesting than the OW drama as it genuinely seemed like a hard choice for her. I enjoyed how passionate she was about her career and her relationship with her dad was very sweet. The cliff-hanger was fine; the tension is pretty good as you know the who but when they were going to resurface kept me guessing.
My interpretation of the star system; 3 stars - I enjoyed it; would read the author again 4 stars - I really liked it; I am invested and definitely want more from this author/series 5 stars - I loved it; I engaged with this book completely until I finished it and it is one I will re-read
OMG! This was bad. Like really bad. The writing was absolutely juvenile, like a 9th grader with a vivid imagination wrote this. It had absolutely no character depth and the story was just bad. It was super cheesy. Like really cringe cheesy. The fmc giggled and blushed constantly and the men were always groaning in lust when they looked at her. Also, there was no lead up to the characters getting together. The fmc meets two of the brothers, they tell her they share their girls with each other and their 2 other brothers that aren't in town yet and she just goes, oh I hope they like me! Not will she like them, of if she would even want to be with 4 people, just ok and then hop directly into bed. It was just too weird and I dnf'd somewhere around 45%. I really tried to soldier on, I just couldn't do it, life it too short to waste on badly written books
Omg the ending! I'm dying here wondering what is going to happen and how the author could do that to us. I was completely hooked into this story and then bam!!
I absolutely loved this story of Avery and her very cute meet of her guys. She meets Jax and Liam, and the chemistry between them is instant. Almost as if they have known each other their whole lives. They introduce her to their brother Kamden and Lennox and the bond between the five if them sits just right. This is a very soft, feel-good book with all the spice you could ask for.
When she learns what they do for a living and all the craziness comes out, it just may be too much to stay together. Especially when the notes and threats start coming in. Will she be able to hang on for her guys?
This is the first book in the All the Pretty Colors duet by Ava Ruin. This was the first book I’ve read from this author and I enjoyed it. I was able to guess what was going to happen at the end of the book but I still enjoyed it.
I really liked Avery and how she opened her heart up to all the Knight brothers. I loved the Knight brothers and can’t wait to see what they do next.
This book has lots of steamy scenes and relationship development. It does end in a cliffhanger that will have you counting down for the next book in this duet.
Oh my words!!! This book is steamy in all the right ways. I was a little worried with the packing of the story, but overall it fits almost perfectly. Avery is an adorable little pixie that carries the heart of 4 famous brothers, but doesn't know at first that their famous.
Can't wait for their story to continue!!!
Please note that I did receive an ARC of this book and the opinions expressed in this review are my own.
This book was super steamy with all the brothers. They all had an instalove thing going on & they had a sort of gooey relationship. Then there’s the drama of a jilted ex thrown in. I was wondering when the notes from the roses were going to be thought of more until that ending. Only thing that was weird was how much all the guys were growling, like I’d get it if they were wolves but this isn’t a PNR story so it was just not needed imo.
I wish I could have given this a higher rating but it was just ok. The spice could have been spicier and I didn’t like that 2 of the MCs were only physically with the FMC for about the last 20% of the book. If you’re gonna have 4 MMCs, I want you to fully commit to them actually being in the same place.
I enjoyed reading this book. It did move pretty fast but still a good book! Excited to read the next book. One thing I was confused on they were texting each other and Avery sends a message and Jax sends back reread your message. And she says she rereads it and doesn't find anything.. Neither do i, very confused on that. Didn't make sense.
A very spicy and enjoyable story as Avery falls for four brothers. They hsve a instalove relationship with plenty of sweetness but there's danger from a jilted ex of the brothers. I liked the characters and the added suspense. Lookin forward to the next book.
She is just living life after graduation trying to work her portfolio as a landscaper when Liam & Jaxton enter her life.
As soon as they enter the bakery she works at, it becomes an insta love story real quick. Those three go from just meeting to hooking up & quickly afterwards already talking about their two brothers, Lennox & Kamden, that also share like they do.
The story then follows as Liam & Jaxton woo Avery whilst their brothers also woo her via phone calls & video calls. She finds herself quickly falling for all of them despite it being so early on & quick.
The 4 men are all falling for her as well & they spend their time trying to convince her that everything will work in the end. Despite Jaxton & Liam inevitably leaving the movie set they’re currently working on & Lennox & Kamden going back to work as well.
She is hopeful that things will work out in the long run.
They do have some small run ins with the men’s ex-girlfriend which is a quick foreshadow into how this books ends. The cliffhanger….yeah not cool but also I kinda saw something of that nature coming.
Overall, the book was definitely intriguing. I was for sure captivated by Avery’s relationship with the guys. The ending definitely had me hoping for more & I can’t wait to see what happens next.
