I read with pleasure about the anointing spreading throughout the church. I am an apostolic believer worshiping and leading in a church affiliated with the United Pentecostal Church International (UPCI). I was pleased to read that the Holy Ghost is being poured out on all flesh as God ordained. The UPCI World Network of Prayer is instrumental in organizing prayer initiatives around the Globe.
I was not sure what to expect when I got this book (a freebie from BookBub), and am not sure what to make of it after finishing it. It was an "informative" look into modern charismatic/pentacostal circles. Unsettling is perhaps another descriptor, but not in the way the authors may think their "prophetic" works are unsettling.
I learned there are East Coast Prophets and West Coast Prophets, and the two groups "visions of the future" conflict with one another. When I read this, I thought not of Isaiah or Jeremiah, but more the magicians of pharoah or Nebuchanezzer.
Some of the individual writings were actually informative. Discussions about prayer movements and the chinese church give one hope for the future.
Other discussions of religious revivals seem nothing more than wishful thinking. As a whole, we are moving further way from the teachings of Christ than nearing them.
While informative I was expecting more of a Biblical explanation of what was going to happen based on the book of Revelation. Yes I believe God does talk to people still in this day its hard to understand when one person says God will destroy CA and another says He won't. I'll stick to my own prayers to and from God.
Some of this was informative. We have seen what seems to be an increase in catastrophic events, but this book tends to putting out the information and prophecies as 'doomsday warnings."
