They met one night as teenagers, then fate pulled them apart. Can they reconnect again, ten years later?
Layla returns to the snowy mountains of Lake Tahoe searching for solace after losing her parents a year ago. For her, this trip isn’t just a getaway—it’s a way to feel close to the family she lost and the memories they made together.
What she doesn’t expect is to cross paths with a boy from her past—a boy she hasn’t been able to forget after all these years. But does he remember her too?
When their lives intertwine once more in the idyllic small town of Tahoe City, sparks fly as old feelings resurface. Yet with so much time and heartbreak between them, can they trust the undeniable pull bringing them back together? Or is it just the magic of the mountains playing tricks on their hearts?
Set against the breathtaking beauty of Lake Tahoe, this small-town romance is a heartfelt tale of healing, second chances, and the enduring power of love.
Erica is a lifelong fantasy lover who can’t resist a tragic ending. She’s also a sucker for romance and pining, with Pride and Prejudice being one of her all-time favorites. With an English teaching license in her back pocket, she’s currently a stay-at-home mom to two adventurous little boys. She, her husband, their sons, and their two dogs call Nevada home, where they embrace mountain life and the great outdoors. When she’s not writing, you’ll likely find her chasing after her kids, sipping an oversized coffee, or daydreaming about her next story.
Two Weeks in Tahoe by Erica Everett is a stunning debut that hooked me from the very first page. The alternating POVs and flashbacks were masterfully done, giving such depth to the story and characters. I still can’t believe this is her first novel—her writing is so polished and engaging.
As a sucker for second-chance romances, this one hit all the right notes, especially with the serendipitous second meeting that reignites the spark. Both characters have endured so much individually, and watching them not only grow as people but also rediscover their love for each other was nothing short of magical.
This book took me on an emotional rollercoaster—there were tears, laughter, and plenty of moments that had me blushing. I absolutely love when a book can evoke such a range of emotions, and Two Weeks in Tahoe delivered in every way.
And that ending? It has me crossing my fingers for a sequel! Erica Everett, you’ve gained a fan for life.
Okay okay, I am not a romance reader, but this book got me. My wife would not quit raving about her ARC copy, so I gave it a go. Layla was such a cool espresso slammin character. me! I can’t believe I was swayed and emotional over the plot… Plus, those spicy scenes 🫡

It was written so well I couldn't put it down. I was just waiting. For the moment when they remember each other. I really hope whoever sees this gives this book a chance. Five stars
Two Weeks in Tahoe releases TODAY and is available on Kindle Unlimited!
So, one of my besties wrote a book, asked me to read it and guess what? I LOVED IT! I didn't know what to expect, but Erica created an original, heartfelt, second chance romance book that has all the warm fuzzies you would want. This is a wintery delight with a golden retriever MMC and a relatable, bookish FMC. You'll fall in love in Tahoe while you read, I highly recommend this one for the romance girlies! I'm so proud of Erica for releasing her debut novel, you go girl! Love you like Seth loves the moon. <3
My favorite part of this book is how it evokes a strong sense of nostalgia. While reading, I couldn’t help but reflect on my own childhood crushes and “romances.” The cozy backdrop and charming scenery created the perfect ambiance for a comforting read.
The story follows two teenagers who meet for a single night, only to go their separate ways—until their paths cross again years later. But what happens when one of them doesn’t remember the other? Is this a second chance?
This is a sweet and simple small-town romance with the second-chance romance trope, an adorable kid, and some delightful side characters.
This might sound confusing, but I found the level of detail both a strength and a weakness. Does that make sense? On one hand, the detailed descriptions helped me visualize the setting and the characters clearly. On the other hand, sometimes it felt a bit too wordy, which interrupted the flow of the story. It was almost as if I was being told the story rather than experiencing it, which made it feel a bit stiff at times.
Overall, though, this was a very cute book with a great plot. And considering it’s the author’s debut novel, that’s incredibly impressive! The author is a kind person, the cover is stunning, and the world-building is fantastic. You can’t beat a book that makes you reflect on your own life, and this one definitely did.
4.5 ⭐️’s 🌶️🌶️ Arc Reader!! This is the perfect cozy second chance romance read! I am so impressed with Erica’s debut novel and would love to read more of her work in the future!
The pacing was perfect and kept me invested with these characters. The characters Erica created were so lovable and had me rooting for them the entire time! If you are a fan of Elsie silver then I think you should give this book a read! This book also has a slight twist to the single dad trope which I loved and big J totally added some fun to this book!
If you are in a reading slump and need something to pick up that will hook you from the start and warm your heart, then this is the book for you!
***FULL DISCLOSURE I BETA read this and am close personal friends with Erica***
BUT I AMMMMM avid romance reader and KNOW a good one when I read it and THIS checked all the boxes!
Lovable characters? Check. Adorable setting? Check. Top tier tropes? Check. Original Plot? Check. Emotional reactions? Check.
ANNNDDDDD to top it all off, a dual timeline! I’m a freaking sucker for dual timelines!
Two Weeks in Tahoe is an extremely easy and bingeable read with an amazing amount of plot and classy, tasteful spice. It’s extremely immersive and so easy to fall in love with this story! I still wonder what Liam and Layla are doing everyday! 😭
This story and pacing flowed so amazingly well and the relationship was extremely organic!
Tropes: 🌲 Single Dad ❄️ Childhood crush 🌲 Dual Timeline ❄️ Second Chance 🌲 He cooks ❄️ Forced Prox. 🌲 Small town
A quintessential contemporary romance. Absolutely adored this story! Layla and Liam are just such likable characters, and so relatable because of their experiences with grief. I was invested and rooting for them right away.
Second-chance romance is one of my favorites, and the duel timeline added a lot of character depth. If anything I wish this book was longer.
Will keep my fingers crossed for an interconnected story (featuring Dex 👀) in the future.
I would highly recommend this book to those who love Hannah Bonam-Young and Emily Henry, the vibes of Two Weeks in Tahoe fit perfectly among them.
This was a cute and cozy second-chance romance read with some wonderful hallmark movie vibes! While I would do some tweaking with some pacing and wording, I really enjoyed my time reading this! A very nice feel good love story
I loved the hallmark vibe of this book! A different style of writing but my bestie knows how to write a debut novel! Angst and it had some spice and a cozy setting. Liam was the ultimate golden retriever and Layla was finding herself after her tragedy. They met one night when they were teenagers and hit it off, Layla had to leave suddenly and they lost contact. 10 years later they find each other again in Lake Tahoe where they met and her family vacationed. Jackson is Liam’s nephew who he has guardianship over. I love when a kid is thrown into the mix, he adored Layla from the get go. Overall, it was a good read for a debut novel. Bravo bestie Erica!!!
What a cute little romance! I was intrigued to figure out Layla and Liams story! It did seem a little rushed but again two weeks is a short period of time!
If you are wanting to read the perfect Hallmark vibes, wintery holiday book with a sweet second-chance romance, look no further; Two Weeks In Tahoe is exactly what you’re looking for.
Right out of the gate, we learn that Layla is a strong independent woman who is learning how to take care of herself in wake of a tragedy. I really can appreciate when a book shows a main character coping with loss in healthy ways.
We also learn about Liam through his struggles as a single dad (uncle) taking care of his 6 year old nephew, and the trials that come with that. the sacrifices that are made and how far he is willing to go to show this boy the best life really show Liam’s true character, and truly just makes you fall in love with him! And the man can chef it the heck up. talk about the total package 😩💕
I adored the banter SO much all throughout the book between the two main characters, but especially on Liam’s end. he was so perfectly snarky and cocky-confident and i loved every second of it! 😂 One second this man will be making a joke, and then a turn around and say something entirely filthy to Layla that had my jaw dropping. 😳😅
i think it would be criminal to not specifically mention the BFF, Daniela. everything that came out of her mouth had me rolling with laughter. everyone needs a best friend like her! i caught myself genuinely cracking up several times throughout the whole book! the side characters in this book are everything!!! also, i absolutely cannot forget about my baby, Dex! *wink wink*
i would have loved to read more scenes between Layla and Liam where they are deeply connected (i’m not talking about spice this time lol) and learning more about each other. some of it felt very surface level and i would have loved to feel a deeper connection with them as a couple! Erica did do a fantastic job of telling us who they are as individuals, their struggles and pasts and what shaped them into who they are in the book!
🏔️ Forced proximity ⏳ Dual timeline 👫🏻 Dual POV 💘 Second Chance ⛷️ Childhood crush 🍪 He cooks 🏘️ Small town
Thank you to Erica for entrusting me with this ARC! i am forever grateful to be a part of your debut author journey!💕📖
4.5⭐️ this book had me grinning from ear to ear like a FOOL
so um who gave Erica a copy of my teenage dream journal??? bc i know a cute boy my age on vacation in my vicinity HATED to see me coming
this book was SO goddamn precious and i literally gobbled it up in one sitting 🫡 i’m actually usually not a big fan of second-chance romance when the characters’ first relationship was a teenage romance, but i ate it UP here, mostly bc i feel like the romance could stand on its own in the present timeline
there was also a little bonus trope in here that i didn’t know about and let’s just say…yuhhhhhh🙂↔️
liam my hot tall tattooed nerdy boy chef boyardee king 🥵 brb booking the nearest airbnb in lake tahoe
layla my shaylaaaaaa 😭
dex POOKIE BEAR COME TO MAMA 🫦🫶🏽😮💨🥰🫂
erica you queen you absolutely slayed this indie debut babes 🫶🏽 and i’m tripping over myself to go read book 2 ASAP 🩵
If you’re in search of a cozy romance book, where you can light a candle, bundle up, and play Taylor swift this book is for you!
This Dual POV book has character you can’t help but root for. These characters had great banter that mad you giggle and just felt like you were watching your favorite romance movie. Did i mention they also both have best friend who you can cut their tension with a butter knife once they meet.
I was happy to have a little twist on single dad trope. (Let be really always giving an extra shout to our favorite daddies! ) Adding the softness and heart melting moments with Big J was truly the icing on the cake. So of the things that kid said would have made me cry if it was in person.
I have to say if you’re a fan of Elsie Silver this book gives similar vibes!
Huge shout out to Erica and this being her debut novel! So freaking amazing your killed it and can’t wait to see what else you do!
I seriously wish I had read this book sooner. it honestly felt like a warm and cozy hug. Liam and Layla have officially earned a place in my heart after getting to know them🥹 and Jackson!!! not only does this little boy have my sons name, but he is one of the best characters in this book. he’s been through a lot for his young age but him being a kid, he has the biggest heart and is so welcoming to all. I have a feeling this book will be on my mind for a while. but brb while I start book 2, Summer In Tahoe🤭
4.75⭐️ Rating! ARC Review: Two Weeks in Tahoe was such a cute, fun read! Second chance romance, mutual pining, he cooks (in and out of the kitchen, if you know what I mean 😉). There are some triggers surround grief and loss of loved ones, so be mindful if that’s something that might be harder for you to read. It takes place around Thanksgiving & Christmas at Lake Tahoe (duh) which makes it the perfect read for getting under a blanket, grabbing a hot cup of hot cocoa or coffee (you’ll take it black if you’re anything like Layla, our FMC) and dive into this story! Dual POV and multi-timelines make this book entirely bingable. My only complaint is because I’m a selfish human and I just wanted more. I loved it so much! Such an incredible debut novel for Erica Everett! I can’t wait to see what comes next!!
This is the perfect, feel-good, cozy, cute romance of the season! I loved this so much. Liam is absolute PERFECTION. I'm used to falling for the morally grey men in books that this character was a breath of fresh air. He is the sweetest, most loving, selfless person ever! Layla is a lucky gal who got a second chance at this.
I loved how the characters rekindled their love after being apart for years, and the flashbacks to their teenage connection were especially touching. They added depth and helped me understand the strength of their bond. It was also beautiful to see them support each other through their grief, having both experienced such similar losses.
However, while the beginning hooked me with emotion and promise, the middle of the story lost some of its spark. The pacing dragged, and I found myself less invested for a while before the ending picked things back up. The conclusion was sweet and satisfying, but the journey there could’ve been a bit tighter and more engaging.
Overall, it’s a good read with strong emotional themes and a nostalgic love story at its core, but it would benefit from more momentum in the middle to fully deliver on its potential.
Two Weeks in Tahoe is a charming winter read filled with lovable characters, lighthearted banter, and yummy spice! It's a perfect choice for those who enjoy cozy romances set in small towns, especially during the holiday season. Whether curled up by the fire or dreaming of winter escapes, this book will provide all the feels. If you need something heartwarming to add to your TBR, then this is the one.
Look forward to: - Small Town Vibes ✨ - Second Chances 💞 - Sexy Single Dad 🥵 - Forced Proximity (snowed in) ❄️ - & so much more! 📖
Thank you so much to Erica, the author and a dear friend, for a copy of this book to read & review.
If you want an adorable, small town romance that pulls at your heart strings…READ THIS ASAP!!
Our main character, Layla, has been through so much and returns to her old vacation spot. Little does she know, a very familiar face is more than ready to reconnect with her.
Many summers ago, Layla met Liam and the connection was immediate! Watching the invisible string theory do its work was an absolute joy!
Liam is such a sweet heart and I would read a million more books with him. We also get to meet Big J…omg he is so hilarious and cute!! Of course the hot mmc, is a single dad!! Hehe
I love the found family, the emotions and all the love in this book. This was the perfect example of how the right person at the right time can change your life. This is a MUST READ!
The cutest cozy romance that is perfect for your winter TBR. I’m such a sucker for a small town romance and this was perfect. Also, obsessed with the cover it’s gorgeous!
This book was just what my rom-com loving heart needed. A second chance romance in Tahoe? Sold. And by second chance I mean a chance meeting when they were teens that never got to go further because of fate.. only to meet again as adults?! Say less.
Layla is an independent queen and I love that for her. She’s been through a lot but also knows her worth and isn’t afraid to set boundaries. And then you know, bend them a little when Mr. Right watches her fall on her a-.. anyways…
Liam is the definition of walking the walk. Not only does he love Layla out loud, he supports her in everything she does. Even if what she does is drink a lot of espresso and run from him.. but only a little
Did I binge this? Yes. Was it because I couldn’t put it down? Also yes.
I have a feeling Erica Everett books are going to be a lot like Catherine Cowles books to me… THE BEST
Second Chance romance, found family, banter, FMC is a reader, the sweetest little boy; Jackson, small town, and grief.
This follows our FMC Layla and our MMC Liam. Layla and Liam met 10yrs ago while Layla’s family was on vacation in Lake Tahoe - after a fun night together she urgently leaves the next day and they never exchanged numbers… the rest is for you to find out 🤭
I loved this book! Jumping right into the ARC for book 2, Summer In Tahoe.
FIRST OF ALL… Erica, I am so proud of you! YOU WROTE AN AMAZING BOOK. 🫶🏻
Thank you for letting me arc read, I am so incredibly honored.
Now down to the deets. This is the PERFECT book to add to your winter TBR. It is a small town romance filled with second chances, healing, and found family.
The meet-cutes in this story were ADORABLE, the friendships were written so well, and the momentary heartbreaks were felt down to my core.
HIGHLY recommend you pick up this book soon!! (Pub 12/12, link in my socials bio!)
I had the honor of getting to be an arc reader for this book! It’s such a sweet and cozy read, I couldn’t put it down and I was giggling and kicking my feet at several parts.
Honestly if Hallmark doesn’t jump on this it’s their loss…and I don’t usually even like Hallmark movies, but I would watch THE HECK out of this one! It’s such a sweet second chance romance. One magical night that they remembered for all those years until they get to meet again? Annnd they looked for each other throughout that time? Swoon. FMC is so great, I loved her. The MMC cooks, fixes things, protective of fmc, a gentleman , has a dog, annddd nurturing to Jackson? Well he’s just perfect.
I’ll definitely be buying the physical copy when it comes out as well. 😍 Go on and read it so you can be giddy with me!
