I really enjoyed this book after an initial rather confusing start. So many books and films typically throw so many characters at you within the first few minutes that it can be bewildering and a bit discouraging. But as soon as we got to know the personalities in some depth the book came alive. All the characters are vividly drawn and really interesting and likable. The story cracked along at a good piss around the world and the outcome was satisfying. Unusually, I really enjoyed reading the acknowledgment and it was quite touching to see a Richard’s kindness at this point. I do indeed look forward to more adventures from this unlikely group of people-especially because most of them are getting older, like myself!

Entertaining, light reads. The storylines are somewhat predictable, but the friendships between the older characters is heartwarming. Fun reading. I read each book separately with time between them (didn't buy the entire set at once).

OMG What a delightfully scrumptious story to fall into. The author's storytelling is exquisite, almost like biting into a box of chocolates. each element reveals its own unque flavor as the pages are turned revealing many new and delicious fun from each character, all of whom appear to be living out their lives to their best selves while the actions may be questionable by legal standards. My husbabd read it first and described it as the most interesting story he had read in a log time, couldn't put it down. After I got through the beginning pages, which for me seemed to be slow and plodding, the pace picked up until I wondered who did the worst or was it all excusable as humane?? not sure but have a fun roller-coaster ride, we did!!

I love these 4. Their camaraderie and acceptance of each others’ differences is heartwarming. This novel was a little confusing in places…I had to take a moment to remind myself who was who in the cast of secondary characters but as for Volume 1, it was a rollicking, well paced tale, and I’ll now chase volume 3.

I didn't think this book was such a big deal. International thievery and murder, but I am not chasing down the other books in this series.

This book was generally fun and well paced. I enjoyed the lead characters and their relationships. The plot wandered some and extra characters were a bit of a distraction.
