He's Not Like That

I’ve never wanted to tell you this, but I have this hangup with God...

Coit is a gifted high school quarterback who is suddenly forced to quit the game he loves. Spiraling downward into an identity crisis, he now must confront some hard “Who am I without football?” and “Who wants a life that is just a sad 'plan B'?”

But the one place Coit could have turned to for answers, is just the place he cannot go.

As Coit wrestles with these questions, God uses a lawyer, an accountant, and Coit’s girlfriend to give him answers, and show him that he is loved, truly loved. This revelation of God’s true character transforms Coit’s outlook on life and revolutionizes a generation of high school students.

What a lovely book! The author's care for these characters is obvious from the first page.

With plenty of tenderness... and more than a little humor...Taylor tackles the challenging topic of "where was God" and reveals a breathtaking truth-when our lives are racked with sorrow and grief, the Creator of heaven and earth comes with us, grieves alongside us, then gathers every piece of our shattered hearts and, if we allow it, knits them together into something new and beautiful.

Mr. Taylor writes as only one who walks in the love of the Lord can. He uses the characters and storyline to help the reader explore this love. Even though I've walked with the Lord all of my life, this book helped me more deeply understand the beautiful love of the Father. It refreshed me and pointed me back to the truth of the Bible.

A sweet, easy to read story, but with great depth. It presents an amazing glimpse of God's love and oneness with His Son Jesus to draw all people to Himself.
