DWMA braces for the final showdown as the Kishin awakens from his slumber at the heart of the moon. Unable to contain his rage, Noah is the first to attack, the Book of Eibon and "BREW" fueling his assault. Despite his formidable efforts, though, Noah is overcome not by the Kishin, but by the sudden appearance of Crona. With the world hanging in the balance, DWMA can only wonder who will prove to be the greater foe--the Kishin...or Crona...
Atsushi Ōkubo ( 大久保篤), also romanized as Atsushi Ohkubo, is a Japanese manga author and fantasy artist known for his work on the manga series Soul Eater, which has been adapted into an anime. Okubo worked as an assistant under Rando Ayamine, on the manga series Get Backers. He also created artwork for various cards for the Lord of Vermillion game.
Atsushi Ōkubo was not a model student and was more attracted to drawing than to learning. At the age of 20, after finishing studies at a manga school where he met Rando Ayamine, the author of Get Backers, he became Rando Ayamine's assistant for two years. Finally, he won a competition at Square Enix's Gangan magazine with his first manga series B.Ichi and it was published for four volumes. After the end of his last manga, he created Soul Eater, still for Square Enix's Gangan magazine, which brought him worldwide success.
Soul Eater, Vol. 24 continues where the previous tankōbon left off and contains the next five chapters (103–107) of the on-going manga series.
The Death Weapon Meister Academy (DWMA) braces for the final showdown as the Kishin awakens from its slumber at the heart of the moon. Unable to contain his rage, Noah is the first to attack with the Book of Eibon and "BREW" fueling his assault. Despite his formidable efforts, though, Noah is overcome not by the Kishin, but by the sudden appearance of Crona, who may be a greater threat than the awakened Kishin.
During the final fight, the three main protagonists come into their own as Black Star has become a force to be reckoned with, Death the Kid is coming into his own as a Shinigami, and Maka Albarn is finally embracing her skills and her partnership with Soul Evans was wonderful to witness.
This tankōbon is written and illustrated by Atsushi Ōkubo. The tankōbon focuses on the final battle on the moon – the Kishin has reawaken and Crona has arrived on the moon, who could be just as dangerous as the Kishin or even more so. The trio of protagonists has come into their powers and has grown much since the beginning of the series. It would be rather interesting to see how the series would end with the next and final tankōbon.
All in all, Soul Eater, Vol. 24 is a wonderful continuation to a series that seems really intriguing and I can't wait to read more.
So crona absorbed the kishin. That's weird. I had to go back and look at the boat chapter and I think that's when crona acquired that ability.
So crona is now extra crazy and free has to get the weaker minds off the moon so that the stronger ones can battle crona without collateral damage. Unfortunately, the only ones left on the moon are Maka, soul, tsubaki, black star and spirit. Kid is furious and heads back to the moon.
Crona steals tsubaki and soul in their weapon forms since for some reason the madness wavelength makes it where black star and Maka couldn't hold the weapons. It was cute to see Maka use spirit.
Showing a positive familial bond makes crona lose control and the kishin takes over the body. Gross and poor crona.
Kid finally gets to the moon in time and awakens the third line in his hair and I guess that signals it's time for his dad to die. That's rough.
Very action packed book and I'm off to the next book.

A good progress in the ground of the Great Devourer. The soul lengths of Shibusen's students are harder to control, but I'm sure they will succeed in defeating him. The presence of Crona made me indecisive, I want Shibusen students to win of course, but at the same time I really wish much that Crona manages to remove all the madness in her. After reading this manga, I think I must admit that she will remain mad.
I loved this volume! It's clear just how powerful all of the characters have really become over the course of the series. Black*Star is a terrifying force to reckoned with, Kid is growing into his Shinigami powers, and Maka is really finding herself and embracing her own skills.
So the final battle begins and it is pretty good even though I think Noah's return was kind of pointless given how easily he is killed but the rest of the fight is pretty good. Seeing Maka fight with her father was really cool to see. How messed up Crona became and seeing her breakdown. Also how they use the weird geography of this world's moon was also pretty creative.
The full crew is back in action and we're down to the final conflict--the Spartoi vs. the Kishin swallowing Crona. The resolution is of course reserved for the over-sized, last-in-the-series 25th volume.
Fight, fight, fight! The big battles continue. Can Crona be redeemed? Can madness be overcome? The students have grown greatly in power and ability since the start of the series. But their foes are powerful too. Only one more volume left; the resolution is at hand.
Chrona's development feels unreasonable. Why's she so taunting and wanting to kill everybody now. Like, technically it's alright but how she got there just came out of the blue. Also the whole thing about order and insanity still feels like the author pulled that out of his ass.
Pretty awesome series, I love most of the main characters! The story’s alright but still very enjoyable tho I think I prefer the anime much more😁👌⚔️📖❤️
I don't have a lot to say about this volume. It did a great job in setting up the finale and I'm just excited to finally be finished with this series. IT'S BEEN YEARS!!!
