It’s been two and a half years since the crew finally got it together and as the holiday season approaches, the reformed thugs and the women who have always believed in them still face challenges as they maneuver fatherhood, running legit businesses, and facing temptations of a past life, yet strive for fresh starts no matter what gets in the way.
Justice and Paris are still going strong, but with fate making a way for Skyy to be released from prison will her bitterness once again threaten something that has been so beautiful, or will she finally get it together for the sake of her child?
Blaq and Reagan have grown to be one of the most favorite couples. They are the perfect parents and the perfect mates, but is everything always what it seems? Love can always conquer as long as they both want it.
Buddah and Ahnesti are a match made in heaven, alike in so many ways, yet so different. They are still hilarious and the life of the party. Do they still have the same outlooks on life, or has the love bug held such a strong grip on them, they finally want to start a family?
This holiday, will the crew manage to leave the past behind and embrace a future full of hope, or will old mistakes threaten their fresh start?
Loved this holiday edition of one of my favorite series I’ve read this year! Justice & P are just too cute! Justice seems to have grown so much & is doing ask he can to be the best man to P & father to his kids! Paris is really that girl! The way she handles things in her marriage & even with Josiah is everything!
Buddah & Ahnesti are HILARIOUS 😭 they keep me laughing in every book! They are so rough around the edges but mesh so well together! My girl finally joined the club! I want to see more from them!! 😍🥰
Reagan & Blaq balance each other out so well! I love how he cares for her! He wants the best for her in every way!
STAR… I’ve been over her since book 1 😒😭 If it wasn’t for Josiah I know Justice would’ve knocked her off by now 😭 but the way P handled her did it for me 😭😭😭 P is such a class act cuz after all Star did she should’ve did her way worse 😒
Looking forward to seeing more from the crew! Hopefully sooner than later! 🥰
The crew is back and just in time for the holidays! The couples were tested beyond measure in the series and this follow-up story shows that when the right person is for you, you can weather the storm. I thought the updates were sweet, the scenes were vivid, and the characters were developed. I loved the bonds the men and women had with each other and the way they didn’t lose their core values, or where they had come from. I wouldn’t be me, if I didn’t ask for a follow-up story on Ashlynn, she has a special place in my heart 💗. I enjoyed it!
This was a good update on these couples and of Skyy delulu self. I hope she really has a reality check and put her son’s needs before hers. So happy with Buddha & Ahnesti’s next chapter! The 3 couples are thriving and enjoying one another!
I’m saying nice ending but I’m still mad that Skyy is alive or whatever. I’m glad Paris is happy because Justice would be missing fooling with me. Reagan & Blaq are cute but Ahnesti & Buddah are my favorite. Just crazy together
I'm in the process of reading S Yvonne's entire catalog the only thing I keep running back to that I would use as a critique aside from the absolute necessity for a better editor or just a few things.
1. I'm not a huge fan of anyone outside of the early 2000s referring to women's hair specifically or anyone's hair as 'good hair'. At this stage in the game it's time that we acknowledge that all hair is good and start finding better adjectives such as 'manageable, easy to maintain, less problematic'. I can't tell you why but this is the second series from her that I've read it every time I read it it just literally makes my eye twitch just cuz I feel like as a society we don't need to add more on to ourselves as black women then what society already adds on to us. The "Becky with the good hair diatribe" needs to cease to exist.
2. The physical violence from men to women, is always problematic in any book I read. Throwing women up against walls, wrapping their hands around women's necks, all of those things are not only toxic but abusive and to downplay it as anything other than that is neglectful. And maybe it's contradicting my statement but we don't even see like the women hitting the men first and their reacting when it comes to this series and previous series isn't it I really just knocking chicks out for no reason. Then literally within an hour turn back around and are being intimate again with the same man with no real apology. And yes, I'm looking at you Buddah.
Again in 2026 that should not be something that we're still actively promoting. It doesn't even matter if the book came out before that re-release it and take pride in celebrating the women and culture that you're writing about. Abuse against black women is is not something that should be celebrated or talked to the side. And if the topic can't be handled with care it can be removed from the plot and you lose nothing.
3. I don't completely enjoy how it seems as if the men are so dismissive of their girls to the point where it's almost as if they are preventing them from speaking, or doing, or behaving the way they are, but we are supposed to be completely okay with their poor behaviors. Shutting the women out going to strip clubs and ignoring their calls putting their hands on them all that it's just what you have to deal with but I don't want you in my homeboys information so stop talking? Men, even imaginary men.
Now on to everything that I loved.
1. I had a connection with Paris just because all I haven't been in that situation I respect how she went about almost everything short of how she originally felt towards the baby. My issue with women if you're going to stay with a man and accept all of him, the minute that happens is the minute you accept the child as well but you can't do it in phases or in steps. However she stepped up and handled business at the end of it and she did what needed to get be done.
3. Ahnesti, ended up being my favorite that first chapter we had in book one I was like dang she's really not that bright. But after that I feel like she ended up being a kindred spirit I'm kind of like that too I'm going to say what I want to say and it's always going to be out of love so it should never hurt anybody's feelings. So I definitely appreciate it her and I like the way that she was able to not force herself on Buddah.
3. Reagan I respected the hustle out of her period everything about the way she came in and handled every single scenario in this book I never really had to say I hurt whatsoever.
The only thing I wish I knew more about was Indy and Nitt and the relationship. After you found out about it we just completely dropped it and I don't ever think it was resolved completely.
Besides that, I loved the books, in the relationships even the parents interaction with the characters. I'm going through her entire catalog right now so it might already be in existence but I would love to see the kids 20 years later because I'm curious about the Dynamics between Jojo and the twins.
Let me say that I’m loving ALL 3 relationships! But will admit that I love Paris & Justice relationship a little more.
Paris & Justice relationship show strength and loyalty! To be able to forgive a man that has not just cheated, but conceived child while in a relationship is strength like no other! The way she stood on business with Sky was given life. Not only did she stand on business, she let it be known that she is not playing with her and not letting up on her with the games she’s play! Basically told her, that she lost and just let it be.
Buddha and Ahnesti!! Their love was definitely different but it worked for them! They say what they mean and mean what they say! She didn’t play game and would crash out behind him and he did the same behind her! Both standing on business when it came to each other. The fact that neither wanted kids but she ended up pregnant was a blessing for them both and sealed the faith of their relationship! With the new found love of becoming a father, Buddah said it time to take it to another level and on their favorite holiday he got down on one knee and proposed! What better place to it than at the place everyone can be a kid - Disney World!!
Blaq & Reagan!!! They are just living life and their family! Wasn’t too much going on with them except loving on their family and themselves!
Let just say that all were in a place in their life where love, and family was all that mattered including Justice mom who was able to have her husband Juan back after being gone for so many years. Like they say the holidays is the “Most Wonderful Time Of The Year ”
I love the bond between Blaq, Buddha, and Justice. They've been best friends for year's but are more like brother's. I also love how Reagan and Ahnesti created a bond with Paris. It might've started off as a trauma bond because of the mess Justice took Paris through but the ladies really formed a true and genuine friendship and sisterhood. Skyy was getting out of prison and Paris was hoping she wasn't coming home on some bitter bs. It took a while for Paris to except the fact that Justice had a child outside of their marriage but Paris ended up genuinely loving Josiah like he was one of her own children. When Justice went to go visit Skyy before she was released. You could tell he was very serious when he told her she had zero chances left if she came back home causing drama. Skyy could play all she wanted to but she was still bitter and jealous. Especially after realizing her son calling Paris "Mama Paris". I was waiting on the day when the two women would finally run into each other. Paris checked the hell out of Skyy after she slapped the s**t out of her. I knew something was up with Ahnesti. She was more turned up and hyped than she was in the original series. I love Buddha and Ahnesti relationship. The both of them are crazy as hell but balance each other out. I laughed hard asf when Ahnesti found out she was pregnant. Buddha acted like he saw a ghost when that positive signed showed up on the pregnancy test. The both of them are truly hilarious but they fit well together.
Truly enjoyed this Xmas edition for some of my favorite characters. Happy Paris was able not express herself to the other baby mama she represented herself like the Queen she is and the fact that her girls were right there ready for whatever shows growth as well as.a.sisterhood that would never be broken these couples have overcame so much and.manage to get their happiness the legit way.
It was good to have a follow-up with all the couples and to see how they're doing. Buddah and Ahnesti came a long way, and I'm happy that they are taking things to the next level with a baby and marriage. Blaq was always the man, and I love how he loves on Reagan. Justice didn't have a choice but to get it right because he surely didn't want to lose Paris for good. Skyy still needs to kick rocks. Good holiday read.
This whole series was a rideee! I must say through out it all watching Justice’s character develop was my favorite. He started off so bad lol but by the end became my favorite! He manned up and bossed up and became who he needed to be to keep his family ! Seeing the friendships built throughout this series and seeing how far they came in this holiday special was a treat ❄️
I really enjoyed seeing how all the couples were making out ...
I'm glad Skyy finally got what should have been gotten Paris did it with so much class she right deserve that slap frfr And I'm glad she realizes it's best to move on ......
This was a good little short holiday story. Paris got her respect she do slap the taste out the sky mouth which she needed. So happy that Kareem is having a baby and I’ll tell you those friends of hers are just fine. I love this book and I love this author so please, Miss Yvonne bring me some new stuff because I am ready and waiting
So good to see all of the couples back for the holidays. Budda and Ahnesti were my favorite couple so thrilled for them and their growth! Christmas brought about family love, respect and togetherness! Paris was able to deal with Skyy trifling self and show she was a grown woman, not to be played with!
I enjoyed this holiday read! Everyone getting on with their lives! The husband and wives are getting along! I enjoyed the part of Paris and Sky’s encounter! I think that conversation needed to be had and boundaries were set! I can’t imagine my son calling someone else mom! However that was the consequence of Sky’s actions! I loved the proposal by Buddah! Ahnesti was elated! All is good!!
All's well that ends well. The holidays with this crew was fun and funny. I think Skyy finally grasped her reality when she came face to face with Paris. I'm happy that Blaq is so big on protecting Reagan's mental health, and Ahnesti and Buddah got it all the way together. This book is quick, but all about family. I loved it. Happy Reading Y'all!💋
As usual the crew did not dissapoint!! Im so happy skylar finally got it thru her head Justice is not hers!! Now I know we're getting at least one more because we gota new niece or nephew on the way along with a wedding
S. Yvonne, good update on the family. To see how everyone is handling their circumstances without falling apart. It was so good to see the kids have a relationship. I want to see what Blaq and Ahnesti will do. 🤗🤗🤗🤗
This was a cute little update on the couples. I'm glad to see that Justice is standing on business and has learned his lesson and I love the growth in Buddha and Ahnesti's relationship.
It gave all the Christmas vibes! This one is mostly about Paris and Justice but naturally gives updates on all the couples. It ends very nicely, no cliffhangers this time. This series is so good & I love that they all got their happy ending.
I’m so happy for Ahnesti and Buddha this series was great. All of the couples are really my favorite they all came a long way from the first book. I’m going to need an update when Ahnesti and Buddha get married and have the baby!!
This book was just what the headline says, it was short and sweet. I liked that Sky owned up to her wrongdoings and wasn’t happy about it all and a lil jealous but she stayed in line. I’m glad everyone got a happy ending! Merry Christmas to a real thug!
Loved this Christmas story! So happy to see the crew get there happily ever after without any drama! Hopefully we’ll get a spinoff with updates from the crew soon *fingers crossed *!
This book is giving what its supposed to give. I loved how everything played out with all the characters from the beginning to the end. Paris had to give Justice baby mom one good slap and that was it. I bet she'll stay in line now. Great book.
Once again the gang all came together, this time all in relationships with kids as well! Paris finally got to say her piece to Skyy, Ahnesti and Buddah are now in baby mode and engaged. Juan is back with Ms. Trina and it turned into very Happy Holidays! Great read!
This was short but cute, I will need a follow-up on everyone, including Sky! I knew more babies were to come. P deserved to get that off her chest. I just loved this entire series.
This was a wonderful series and I enjoyed each book!!!… The gang was back together and now all of them are parents and the last of the bunch is getting married!!!…
