DC Horror Presents... (2024-) #3 (DC Horror Presents...

Rate this book
In this very special (and spooky) artist-writer issue, horror comics legends Francesco Francavilla and Patrick Horvath write and illustrate two frightful stories set in the DCU. Come see Adam Strange’s adventures become a lot stranger as he brings parasitic dirt to Earth from the planet Rann. And what else lies in store? You’ll just have to see…if you dare!

The Batman story was way too short. Lots of words early on without the pay off. I didn't expect to like the Adam Strange story simply because I'm not as familiar with him, but I knew enough to get the story, and it's a neat concept. Now I want a Last of Us styled game based on alien spores... The Thing meets Last of Us? That'd be sweet. Dude.

This was ok

This was better than the previous 2. You can make a whole series out of these two stories. Especially the one with Adam Strange. He is criminally underutilized. The idea of him bringing back a virus with him from Rann is pretty genius. Also Abby Arcane as a villain actually works. I want to see the also in a longer book. All in all, I appreciate the creativity put into this book. The other issues were seriously lacking it.

The Batman story felt too quick, even for a short story. Adam Strange story has a good concept. The last panel of Supes with a swollen head just looked like a sad boi from a children’s book than horror.

No leáis tras haber comido.

I think if both of these were more fleshed out they could be really strong. The Batman one felt especially rushed and the Adam Strange one needed more time to build unease and a horror tone. Overall, okay, but they both needed more time to grow.

Too short

I would have liked for the stories to have more space to develop. As they are they feel unsatisfactory. The art is great though

Both stories made no sense at all. And I don't like that in my stories.
