This book in the series features Lucy, a chef from the city who is work orientated to the point that nothing else exists. Which means that nothing does like friends, hobbies etc.
Deb is a co-op owner who chases chickens in the chuff and lives a solitary life because she thinks her ex-wife will miraculously somehow want to un-divorce her. Altogether a recipe for disaster especially when the river runs its banks and starts flooding the town, causing our two MC’s no choice but to leave their cosy nests and start stepping up for everyone.
The book could have done with being a little longer so that the romance could develop more amongst all the other stuff going on. And I would have appreciated knowing exactly how a food co-op works.
However these books are great when you want to travel to the wilds of Alaska and leave the world behind for a while.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily

Thank you to Harmony Noble for allowing me to read an ARC copy of this book. I felt the pacing was perfect for this novella, and it was nice and concise. It didn't overstay its welcome and try to drag on the story. The characters felt real and it felt like they would be people you would meet on the street. I also enjoyed the role that Lucy's career played into the story. Although it did make me hungry for some French cuisine. Highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to dip their toe into sapphic love stories, honestly.

This was probably my favorite book so far that I've read in the Wilderness Rescue series. I loved the characters and character development. I loved the setting and the drama that happened with both MC's (seperately and between them). I laughed with the ending and the angst that was there for a moment, but I really liked it. It was a nice and easy read, as is usual in this series, but that is also why I like these books so much, as they are great when you want to decompress a bit and just enjoy the book without having to be completely focussed on a complicated story line.

If you are looking for a short, pretty much drama free book, that when you stop reading it, you will leave it behind, then this is ideal. This is a short book, which I would have liked to see more developed. It feels a bit shallow, there isn’t really time to get to know the mains or see their relationship develop. 3 for a light weight, quick read.

Great tale of small town life in Alaska!
Deb, Chef Lucy, and Brenda (aka Barbara) are thrown together when Cooper Landing, Alaska suffers a devastating flood. Along the way you’ll encounter betrayal, lost relationships, redemption, new friendships and love.

The story and characters realistically depict small town life while weaving a truly enjoyable journey.

Lucy is a chef who runs a lodge in Alaska. Awakened by a telephone disaster alarm, she rushes to make sure the people lower on the peak and closer to the flooding river are safe. When she bangs on Deb’s door she confronts a totally naked woman with chickens and pigs. A fast paced romance with all the angst and drama. Love the authors.

“Wait. Do you have a map to see the Northern Lights?”…
I give them a map to my room!” Chapter 14

This book is a light introduction to Cooper Landing, Alaska with a closed door romance between Lucy and Deb in the mix!
