Valor can’t make a good decision to save his life. Liam can’t save his life no matter the decision he makes.
With a new hunter in town, a councilman dead, and their mass of intricately woven lies coming unraveled, the pair flees the country to avoid their past. Though, with Liam terminally ill and Valor still chained to Hell, it’s their future that may prove to be the most difficult to escape.
At the end of it all, there can only be a goodbye.
Holy shit. Holy actual shit. You will cry. Maybe laugh like, a little. But mostly SO MUCH FUCKING CRYING. I loved this book. 10/10 would recommend for those people on Lexapro that can’t feel emotions anymore.
This third book in the supernatural High Blood series keeps the action, the plot twists, and the sometimes-aching/sometimes-amazing romance rolling. If you don't already love Valor by this book, you absolutely will before the end! He's one of those characters that if he doesn't have bad luck, he has no luck at all.
Sunkissed dives back into the histories of vampires Valor and Liam, which helps to explain why they are the way they are and how they seem to continually make flawed decisions. Delving into these histories makes the moments they have together now even more special, especially in the short time they have left with one another, and leaves you hoping they can somehow outrun the inevitable timeclock staring them in the face.
This book gave me full-body chills at one point. The love story between Valor and Liam is just so heartbreaking some times, so hopeful at times. It is so well-written.
But what is a story in the High Blood series without some demon and vampire high jinx? Once again, the author provides so much witty banter, real laugh out loud moments even when you least expect them.
