Running from danger lands me in the middle of a pack of wolf shifters…
My boss in the CIA put a target on my back, and it’s sent me running from Langley to the foothills of Mt. Rainier and a little town called Thunderfall. This place is crawling with shifters, and they think I’m a defenseless little human.
Probably safer for all of us if they keep thinking that.
But when I meet Voss, Dom, and Ronyn, my walls threaten to crumble. The alpha and his two best friends look at me like I’m the air they need to breathe.
Their touches set me alight, but I’m as much a danger to them as monsters may be to me. And if they find out, will these men still want me as their mate?
Chosen by Ash is the first book in the Thunderfall Pack series. It is a reverse harem, why-choose paranormal romance. If you love a story with three hot alpha wolf shifters, a badass heroine, and vampire bad guys, then this series is for you!
Meredith Clarke likes long walks in the trees and drinking sangria. Yeah for real. Like Edward Sparkly Cullen style. She writes alpha male yet cuddly characters and the hot women that love them. Open a book or two, eat a smore, and cuddle up with the men of Meredith Clarke.
The start of Thunderfall Pack so get comfortable because you aren’t going to put it down until the last page has been turned. Bexley is a bad a** one of the strongest alpha’s out there; she is intelligent and has a heart for compassion towards others, a sense of humor that draws people to her. She is on the run from her boss just evil person she finds herself taking care of group of people who just made it through an attack but before anything can calm down, they are attacked by coyotes which is where we meet our guys. Voss sexy alpha out with the pups on their yearly ritual when he scents his mate but helping to protect her and her pack, he joins in the fight against the coyotes sending a warning to his pack to prepare. Ronyn gets the pack together for fresh meat when he scent his mate not realizing she is also Voss’s mate and then we have Dominic her third mate but their girl is quick to let them know she is her own person and she belongs to no one but they say the heart wants what the heart want and throw in a mate bond and they aren’t walking away but her boss is after her will they protect / help her, why is the pack being haunted, will she accept being the mate to all three of her men, and where are they headed?
Becky, Dom,Voss and Ronyn‘s story is a good start to what I hope will be a great series . The storyline is one of a trained female CIA assassin coming to be an “Alpha” of a wolf pack on the run from vampires ( who just happen to be run by her old bosses at the CIA ). This is a strong well written story, but it has one or two bumps in the timing and flow, where something has been written in a prior chapter, is then written differently later in the book. I’m hoping the author corrects this prior to publication as I read an ARC copy. It only mildly detracts from the storyline and I was able to continue the story with only a small pause to go “hmm”. The characters are well written and fleshed out , they have their own quirks, strengths and weaknesses and are likable as well as lickable ! It does end with many questions needing to be resolved as most books in a series so. 4✨’s.

The book had a great backbone for the storyline and made the "mate" trope feel more natural. It really eased you into it more than most shifter novels I've read. It's got some great detailed spice which is always a plus for me! I like this book, the author did a great job. Can't wait for the next one.

DNF 17% This book needs some heavy heavy editing. I did like the story line, but I just can't get over the terrible writing. Grammar errors, huge inconsistencies, very hard to follow descriptions and the cincher for the DNF, interchangeably using wolf and coyote. They are not the same and this was just... Inexcusable in a paranormal type book for me.
This one seemed really slow and repetitive to me. The FMC, Bexley, is the fated mate to three wolf shifters, and all the men had the same reaction upon finding and meeting her. Which meant the same scene three times with varying settings and dialogs, taking up six chapters (him then her). But then the whole mate thing isn't brought up again until the last two or so chapters. Honestly, I wasn't the biggest fan of Bexley herself. She starts off seeming like a very tough, capable leader who knows enough about the supernatural world to keep her pack alive, but later is kind of ignorant of shifters and vampires. Plus, her recruitment into the CIA was too much of a stretch- and this is a paranormal novel.
Wow, A convoluted mess of plots. CIA? Weird military wolf shifters, evil, smelly vampires? Strange powers? This story is just too strange. She's strong, rescues a pack of wolf shifters, kills off a deer and multiple coyote by herself. (Coyote are not wolves, but the terms are used interchangeably.) She spends most of it having sex with various men, then screams and cries about them being mates. She is beloved by all the shifter pups but isn't a shifter. Her friend dies from a vampire bite and she disappears into her head for three weeks. Pick a lane.
I've never read Meredith Clarke before, but when I stumbled across Chosen by Ash, she had me at CIA and Shifters. I've never read that combo or even come across it, for that matter. I was intrigued.
It was so good! Supernaturals are in covert ops, shifters have magic, vampires are on the hunt, and the MFC kept me guessing the entire time. How could I not love it? Bexley was strong, intelligent, and more than capable. If you look up badass in the dictionary, you will see her picture. Like seriously, the stuff she pulled off had my jaw dropping. Plus she had a great sense of humor and a kind heart. I loved her. Voss, Dominic, and Ronyn were great even if Ronyn tested my patience. They all knew each other before and got along but obviously had very different personalities. Dom had to be my favorite of the bunch, I loved his playful personality.
The story was good. I do wish that there was more of the CIA stuff, but it was a great shifter story. I like the twists, a female leading a shifter pack and the shifters having powers, that were unexpected. Bexley's dubious background puzzled me throughout the story. I couldn't figure out which direction Clarke was going to go. A definitive answer was given, but I don't believe it, too many things aren't adding up. However, it does make the story more appealing.
Of course, Chosen by Ash ended on a cliffhanger, just when things were getting interesting between them. I got a peek at the next book, Veil of Shadows, and if I go by the first chapter, it looks like it's gonna be a good one.
Within this realm lies a captivating tale where shifters, vampires, humans, mates, friends, and children collide to create a tapestry of conflict, loyalty, and love. The allure of these characters, meticulously developed by the author, not only pulled me in but also ensured i couldn't resist turning the pages, eager to uncover what happens next.
Imagine the rustling leaves as a shifter prowls through the woods, or the tantalizing scent of blood that wafts through the air as a vampire lingers in the shadows. These meticulously crafted elements allow you to experience the world fully, making every scene vivid and engaging.
The author's ability to build suspense and emotional depth makes the reading experience not just enjoyable, but unforgettable. I found myself invested in the characters' journeys, cheering for their victories and mourning their losses. This emotional connection is the hallmark of great storytelling, transforming a mere collection of words into a meaningful narrative.
Bexley is a very special woman. She is leading a ragtag group of shifters after they are attacked. She has amazing skills that will help keep them alive. Another group of shifters found them. Three men will play a major part in her life she knows nothing about. This is a great beginning to a new shifter/vamp series.
I love the world building. The author stays focused on the important parts of the story. This story may contain high heat but does not center around that much. I love how the characters play out in their roles. Nothing is rushed. Elements of humor will make you laugh as well. The differences between the species are spelled out in nuances of the story.
This is a read you will want to add to your library quickly. I read it pretty fast and cannot wait for the next book in the series to come out. It ends on a cliff hanger. When you discover the stories behind each of the characters, you will be hooked even more.
This book was fun to read because Bexley didn’t react to meeting her mates for the first or many of the following times at all as expected. This left the three male mates bewildered and even more encouraged to make Bexley realize their bond. These three males are best friends once childhood and have quite different personalities, making it entertaining to follow along. There are many great quips, humorous jabs and moments. Things started like there might be a good amount of hot sexual scenes, but that wasn't quite the case. Yes, it was heavy in the beginning as they are trying to woo and impress Bexley, however, things progress to different aspects of the story and you get to know each of the characters more. Things do pick up now and then though. The cliffhanger was at the perfect spot. This is the first book in the series and I greatly enjoyed where this story is heading!

Two packs with a common enemy join forces to enhance their chances of survival. They find more than just an enemy in common as they get to know each other more.
The story was unique, unlike any shifter story I have read before. But the writing style did not feel engaging enough to keep me interested throughout. The plot was well written, with twists and turns at the appropriate time. Though I did not have a good opinion on the male characters at the beginning, they had good character development. The story felt slow moving and some scenes felt quite abrupt, especially the romantic ones. Also, I did not understand how the book name suits, to be honest.
Otherwise, it is pretty decent multi-pov, reverse harem shifter novel.
While I will never accuse an author of using AI to help write a book without proof, what I can say about this book is that there is something off with the writing, verbiage, pace and sentence structure.
A CIA agent was strong until about 20% until she allowed BBS to take over. I had high hopes for the FMC until she went from a scared woman who thought she was going to be SA (FMC was crying, shaking, clearly fearful) to a woman following her desire in less than 2 seconds. It was shameful.
The order of events were weird; the dialogue was also strange and oftentimes didn't make sense.
There was an attempt at worldbuilding, but not enough for me to connect to the world or the characters.
Three powerful wolf shifters come across their mate, a human CIA agent on the run. This is the first book in the series. I enjoyed the fun plot line. It was interesting that while all three men recognized her as their mate, as a human, she didn’t sense the connection. While she is attracted to them, there is no instant desire on her part. On the run from her CIA boss, the three men just want to help. Reluctant to let her guard down with strangers, she slowly gets to know and trust them. I am anxious to see where the story goes.

So I read another series of Meredith Clark's and I have to say that with reading chosen by Ash there's a lot of stories out there that seem similar you know just characters change or you know small details in the story but by far she has to be one of my favorites a lot of what she does is very descriptive and gives you a whole atmosphere of the book you can almost see a movie of what the book is play out I love her story lines I love the characters and I love a good reverse harem book thanks for this book looking forward to the next.

Bexley runs away from her job and ends up Alpha of a makeshift wolf pack. To keep them safe, she has to use all her skills and running techniques. Until she runs into another pack. Dom, Ronyn and Voss smell their mate from miles away. When they finally meet this alpha they wonder how she does not feel the mating bond. This book takes you into two packs struggling to survive and run from the things that come at dark. In order to save their packs, these four must come together to find out who is hunting them and why. This book is a cliff hanger but can't wait for book 2 to see what happens.

She might be human but she's had hard life, some life or death training and witnessed some things that have put her on the run. Right in to the path of her fate When those shifters let their souls lead the way she realizes that there's more to life than she what she was raised to believe. There's another life out there that she could get a chance of, a future where she's not alone. And they all have something in common, they just have to learn to work together.

This was such a great series opener and I love how Bexley, a human gal and ex-CIA agent, is alpha of a misfit pack of shifters. There is danger all around, though, and shifters Dom, Voss and Ronyn all know she's their mate. She isn't a shifter, though, so they have to work to show her what she means to them and what they can mean to her. With fab world building, great character development and a suspenseful plot, I was hooked, first page to last. Sadly, this ends on a cliffy and I can't wait for the next book. Good fun!
Wow this is an excellent read. It pulled me in from the first page all the way to the end. It's well written. I enjoyed the story line. And the characters are fantastic. Bexley is a strong willed human CIA agent on the run from a Vampire. Voss, Dominic, and Ronyn belong to a near by pack of Wolf Shifters. Discover her scent as their mate and take in her small pack. This story is suspenseful, heartwarming, mysterious, and has a lot of twists. Meredith has a great talent drawing you into the story. I highly recommend this book
This Book 1 in The Fated Bond Book Series has a RH Paranormal Romance Story, a well-crafted world, and interesting characters. These characters have unique personalities, complicated histories, and believable interactions. This story has the following: female with a target on her back, shifter mates, Vampire badguys, twists, turns, adventure, action, strong heroine, healing, danger, steam and love.
This is Baxley, Voss, Ronyn and Domino's story. Baxley is on the run, from her former boss in the CIA. She is with a pack that lost their alpha and most of their pack from vampires. When they end up on anothers pack land what will happen? There are alot of different things going on. Hope the next book brings more of a development in the story.

this was a strong start to the Thunderfall Pack series, it had that element that I was looking for and enjoyed the paranormal element and the use of a reverse harem. It was everything that I was looking for and enjoyed the overall feel of this. Meredith Clarke has a strong writing style and enjoyed the overall feel of this.

So this book is fantastic to the point where I cannot wait to see where this series goes. I really loved our heroin in this book because she definitely is a very strong character. Which she definitely needs to be for her mates and who they are. This book reads smoothly from front to finish and is really well done.

The story line is good. The characters are also good. But some of the writing either repeats itself or is a contradiction. At one time it reads that the pack had to move and just felt settled in the last few years, but then later it says they walk into his childhood home. There are a few instances like this. This book could be a five star if rewritten in some spots. I loved the concept of the book. A very good story line. Just needs work on the wording.
While I am not fond of cliff-hanger endings, I was interested in seeing how this story would encapture the essence of the CIA assassin, three wolf shifters, and the bad guy vampires into a reverse harem romance. Fated mates, the primal call to meet and the ultimate in chaos. Looking forward to reading book 2 (Veil of Shadows) as I want to see where the journey takes us.
This was an Awesome RH story to read, I couldn't put it down. I was hooked into the character's lives and the story right from the start of the book. Wolf Shifters, Humans, Vampires, Mates. This is Book 1 of the series, and I can't wait to read more and more. I loved it!

t was a good book suspenseful yet that didn't take away from the romantic elements either. I also liked the fact that there is an opportunity for a prequel from bexleys POV if Meredith Clark so chooses. Over all it was a good quick read and I look forward to the other books in the series.
This story had an intriguing premise with the CIA. and shifters and a mystery of who Bexley is. This is an interesting introduction and fleshes out the characters and their dynamics. I really enjoyed it and cannot wait to read the next book
An intriguing story with likeable and fascinating characters. Bexley was strong and fierce as she discovers she has three fated mates. A great read featuring shifters, vampires, the CIA and heartache.
