Enemy Muse #2

Forever and Ever

Rate this book
If I’m looking for trouble, I don’t need a rock star like Noah Hayes to find it. I play the bad girl well enough on my own.

While millions of people might idolize these so-called Rock Gods, I party with them on a daily basis. I know the truth. They’re just as flawed and damaged as the rest of us. So, while Noah’s charms may work on his many groupies, I’m immune.

But ever since Noah first laid eyes on me, it’s been his life mission to get a taste. And what he lacks in discretion, he makes up for in determination. Only, I’m stubborn, I’m angry, and I’m broken in ways he'll never know or understand.

Noah says he's willing to wait for me forever. What he doesn’t realize, is he just might have to.

Sadly, Noah and Merry’s story didn’t fascinate me as much as the previous part did.
Both characters had issues from their past and I was not in the mood for following their journey.

Also, the insta love didn’t work for me.
Noah said he fell In love with Merry when he laid his eyes on her. Although their relationship was still on a friendly basis, when one of the shows ended, Noah was approached by a willing blonde chick, with whom he went to celebrate with. 😉
Glad he had fallen in love with Merry at first sight… 🤨

Forever and Ever is book 2 in Eva’s Enemy Muse rockstar romance series. Merry is the bad ass roadie working for Noah’s band. He’s the charming, seemingly happy-go-lucky drummer. They both have secrets. But they they want each other more.

Like book 1, this one deals with so many emotions and traumatic experiences. I love the way Eva handles dark themes. Noah is estranged from his family and battling his demons, but he seeks out help. Merry is more closed off, but her character development was so so good. The slow burn between the two of them actually killed me.

When comparing this one to book 1 though, I didn’t feel as gripped. The insta-lust was a little over the top at times and I wish there was a little more tension and angst. I feel like Merry kept her distance for so much of the book that when they did finally get together I found myself slightly questioning her. With all that said I still enjoyed the book a lot.

I love the band dynamics and the little moments between all the characters. The band definitely is a found/chosen family. Noah is the definition of a simp and I love that sm.

Thank you so much to Eva for an arc! This book comes out on 3/17.

3.5⭐️ - Overall, I really did enjoy this one. The things keeping this from a higher rating was the fact that the author inserted way to much internal dialogue within conversations so by the time you got someone’s response, you’d have to go back to remember what they were even talking about. The other thing is I needed more of Noah’s background with his family. That didn’t go deep enough to explain his struggles. We get a quick snippet and a pointless interaction with his ex but it needed a more meaningful set up.

Usually I really love Eva's writing but I don't know what is happening with this series because it's been kind of bland to me. . .

I didn't connect with the characters at all and their story ended up being kind of boring. . . I can't say that I hated this book but I didn't enjoyed it for sure.

I'm still hoping to find one book in this series to turn me around so let's see 🤷‍♀️

First off, a huge thank you to Eva and Grey's Promotion for the arc and allowing me to read this early. 💜

Eva, has me back in my rockstar romance era, with Enemy Muse for Noah and Merry story, we had met them in the first book and I couldn't wait to read their story, not only as characters but seeing them as a couple. Merry works for the band and Noah is the drummer for the most famous band in the world. In order for Merry to achieve her dreams, Noah offers her to come stay with him.

Merry and Noah's are both broken in different ways, which made their story emotional and heartfelt, they have this incredible tension, pull and sexual chemistry towards each other. They also share in some wonderful, sweet and caring moments that made me fall in love with them. Their relationship is really built on this foundation of friendship, love and support for each other. They're just perfect and what each other needed.

Noah, is, the damaged musician, he's sweet and kindhearted. He's always persistent in how much he loves and cares for Merry and that out weights everything else for him. Merry is a total firecracker, I just love her. She has, her own set of heartbreak, but she's supports, Noah right back and she's able to grow and let down her walls. The more she blossomed, the more her life shined around her.

Eva, this time around, made this story much more intimate and took us deeper in showing her characters and the people closest to them in the midst of fame and the downtime in between that dealt with some heavy real life issues. The perfect added touch was the family aspects and the friendships for Merry and Noah's story. As always with this series I feel like this is a real life band, that makes me want to stay backstage or spend time in the studio with them.

I can't wait for the next book in this series, & this series is on Kindle Unlimited.

4.25 STARS 🥁

This is the second book in this series about the band Enemy Muse. They’re interconnected standalone’s I feel best read in order.
I loved the banter and tension between the main characters so much. The quips are clever and fun. They have unique humor that I really enjoyed and there’s an edge of competition and provocation between them.
I love Merry’s sassy, cool and confident attitude. She is fun, smart, talented and seeming to casually enjoy life to the fullest. Not everything is as it seems.
Noah is the opposite of what you expect from a famous rock ‘n’ roll star. He tries to be the sunshine for everyone, he’s funny, clever, supportive and he hides his pain.
He’s not afraid to let Merry know he’s interested and he’s not losing interest despite her telling him he’s off limits to her.
Both have their emotional demons, Noah is the light to Merry’s darkness.
Their friendship is filled with jokes, taunting and flirting.
I loved the anticipation of when Merry was going to let Noah in romantically or in any deeper way.
It’s an entertaining world with the band and touring with Enemy Muse and their team.
The secondary characters add a lot of laughter and heart.
I like the closeness of the characters, band mates and significant others. It’s a great feeling of chosen family.
I like this series, book and characters.
It’s a lighter read, not too gritty or overly emotional.
Just enough to satisfy the musician romance fans.
The characters emotional baggage wasn’t depicted in much detail, it didn’t feel heavy or too serious.
An entertaining story with really lovable, entertaining and unique characters.

While no one can beat Sebastian and Cassie, Noah and Merry come close! Noah Mr. Sunshine Hayes has been in love with Merry Miss Grumpy Lopez since the moment he laid eyes on her. Too bad Merry would rather push him away than let him see behind her tough girl exterior. But what happens when she finally stops fighting him… and gives in? 👀

Noah and Merry are so raw, I loved it. Noah hides behind a sunshine-y facade whereas Merry hides behind a take-no-shit tough girl one. What I loved was that Noah was so unapologetically into Merry despite her efforts to keep him away. The pining was mutual, even though Merry was deeply in denial. And I both loved and hated Merry’s struggle because it felt so fckin real that it was hurting me too.

All in all, hats off to Eva because this was a great, enjoyable read!

“Noah Hayes is a bad decision, wrapped in a deceptive pretty boy package.” This is what Merry is thinking about this pretty boy drummer, playboy and rockstar. He’s just out of rehab and Merry had to go get him, this is the second time they’ve met and the chemistry is off the hook. There’s just something about this character that’s soulful and sexy and you want to wrap him in a warm blanket forever. This guy is so nice and he was hurt so badly he’s never recovered or let anyone in, or has he? Merry just landed this job working for the band and their manager. She has secrets, just dropped out of college and this is to further her career, not sure what that might be yet. The lady is not going to let her attraction to pretty surfer boy get in her way. I’m already shaking my head because these usually fall the hardest. She has so many secrets it’s hard to tell if these two will ever get together, Noah’s been chasing this girl for a year. Talk about persistence! He’s like the Energizer Bunny, he just keeps coming back and won’t give up. When these two finally got together it was spectacular and one of the most romantic scenes I’ve ever read. Merry was a stubborn foot stomping angry girl but Noah was having none of it, he was absolutely glorious. The ending was seriously delicious, giving this book five stars and highly recommend it.

This deserves to be adored.
If you want a book you can devour in a matter of hours. This is one! I dare you to try and read it without crying though. It tore my heart out over & over and I balled my eyes out. But I just want to turn back to the beginning and start again, it was so beyond beautiful.

My heart broke for Noah every page I turned. That boy loves with his whole heart. Drowning in demons, just trying to survive. Living the life of a rockstar to the outside world, when inside he is a completely different person.
Merry is fighting her own demons. Shes built up huge, impenetrable walls and wont let anyone in. She fights off Noahs advances for months but when she ‘f-ing finally’ opens her eyes and saw him. God. It was something else.
Their love isn’t all sunshine and roses. Its messy, its painful, its heartbreaking at times and it wasn’t easy. But it was stunning. (Here come the tears again) The struggles these two face throughout the book, its more than any relationship should go up against but I was so glad Noah never gave up on Merry.
I highlighted almost all of this book, so don’t ask me what my favourites quote was. I couldn’t even narrow it down. I thought the first book in this series - Heartbreak her, was incredible. But this one. I refuse to rate it. There are not enough stars in the sky!
6 words in this tore me to shreds. I had to put my kindle down and actually cry.
This is heavy on the emotions. Please please check trigger warnings because I have none and it destroyed me. Eva is so beautiful with her writing, and everything she writes is done gently but with raw emotion. But this wont be for everyone. But I do highly recommend you give it a go if you can.

This is the second book in the Enemy Muse series. This story follows Noah and Merry who we met in the first book. I thoroughly enjoyed the first book so I couldn't wait to get my hands on this.

Their story is cute. I enjoyed the tension between the two of them in the first half of the book. The slow burn is good and I was grinning from ear to ear watching Noah try to snag the girl. It was giving a little bit of enemies to lovers. We all know I'm a SUCKER for that. I'm also a sucker for 'he falls first' and this book SERVED that. I also really loved that this is a reverse grumpy/sunshine. He's this nice burst of sunshine and she's the complete opposite. Also, FORCED PROXIMITY. It truly has all my favorite tropes.

In comparison to the first book, I wasn't as obsessed with this one. It was still good but with how slow the burn was, to how quick her feelings flipped, I definitely questioned if Merry's feelings were genuine. The tension the first half of the book was SPECTACULAR, but after that it disappeared.

It does deal with some serious topics and I think they were handled with care and authenticity. I still liked this book and 100% will read the next one. I'm excited for Eloise and Adrian's story.

Forever and Ever is the second book in the series. I’ve been looking forward to this one, since I read about Merry and Noah in book one.
I love the banter between the two of them, the flirting and the way they act around each other.
Merry and Noah both have a troubled past, both dealing with it in very different ways.
Merry is very closed off, while Noah is living his live, using all of his charms. But there is an underlying attraction between them.
I loved this book by Eva Simmons, she just knows how to bring out the dark, but makes it not too heavy to read. And the rockstar romance is always a good one for me.

It’s been a long time since I’ve read a book that has made me cry like this… completely unexpected when reading a rock band romance series. Meeting the band of Enemy Muse one by one has been amazing so far… I didn’t expect Noah and Merrys story!
Both characters have a broken past.. the found family feeling the book brought was some of my favourites!

Merry needed someone who didn’t give up on her and Noah brought everything to the table and refused to leave!

Check your triggers.

Forever and Ever is one of the best rockstar romances that I have read recently. Eva Simmons Enemy Muse Series is outstanding and Noah and Merry's story is a great part of the series, but can be read as a standalone. Be prepared because this book is super emotional in many ways, and I found myself in tears more than once.

Noah is the hot, sexy drummer for Enemy Muse. At the start of the book he is feeling totally disillusioned with his life. Even though Merry attracts his attention one night backstage he cannot stop himself from crashing and burning and ending up in rehab.

Returning to the band clean he is unable to understand why Mercedez Lopez is so different from the other women who fall at his feet. He is drawn to her with almost a magnetic force but she refuses to engage with him in any way even though it is obvious from the start that their chemistry is off the charts. Merry wants to make it in the music industry and is willing to pay her dues by starting off as an errand girl/roadie for the band so she can learn all she can. She refuses to be distracted from reaching her goal by a fling with someone in the band and has erected steel walls around her heart and putting Noah squarely in the friend zone.

There is so much flirting, joking around and sexy banter going on between these two that was really entertaining and I was so ready for them to finally cross the line and I was not prepared for the reason that Merry would not let that happen and yep tears were falling again!

I really loved this story, it is fun to see a playboy rockstar brought to his knees by a girl who refuses to fall for his games and to see him realising that he has to become a better man for her. Eva has written an unforgettable story in her rock band world with believable characters and an insight into the life of a rockband and lastly that cover is soooo hawt!!

4.5⭐ Merry and Noah forever. 🥹 I loved this friends to lovers rockstar romance so much. These two had such a beautiful friendship and I loved watching them fall in love. More so watching Merry fall for Noah because Noah has been in love with her for FOREVER. 😭

Noah is such a sunshine of a character and I appreciated the depiction of his addictions and on going struggles and him talking about his past. I loved Merry, how headstrong and badass she is and I thought it was really important to see a character, especially one as strong as she is struggle with fertility issues and the mental impact it played on her. I love how much Noah and Merry are both simultaneously there for each other as friends and even more so as partners. They're both so incredibly supportive of one another and I really adored their story.

Forever and Ever is book two in the Enemy Muse series but can be read as standalone. Similar to the first book, check the trigger warnings as the content may be distressing.

Noah is part of Enemy Muse and when he meets Merry, well . . . let’s just say, he did not make a good first impression. After that day, he constantly pursues Merry. When an opportunity arises that Merry can’t turn down, she accepts but the caveat is she has no where to stay. Enter Noah who gladly offers her a room in his house.

With this close proximity, Merry and Noah grow closer and Merry can no longer push him away. But she has secrets, and she’s still guarding her heart.

Noah doesn’t touch drugs or alcohol, at least, not anymore. He’s always the happy one, but hiding behind those smiles is a broken boy. Noah’s backstory was heartbreaking.

Merry is tough and very closed-off. She doesn’t form deep attachments and she’s a “bad girl”. She just has a lot going on in her own life, but she doesn’t want to talk to anyone about it. I ached to read about what she was going through.

Noah and Merry were so cute together. I loved all the tension building between them and their banter. Now, there were some pretty heavy events that occurred. I’m not a fan of the insta-love trope, but I loved their story. Maybe it’s because they didn’t give in to their instant connection right away. But Noah was so sweet with Merry. Despite her constantly turning him down, he never gave up. Even though he knows she can handle everything on her own, he lets her know that he will be there for her if she needs him. Noah and Merry both had broken souls, but they healed each other.

Noah's the happy go lucky member of the band, the one who cares and wears his heart on his sleeve. When Merry falls into his and the band's lives, he's instantly drawn to her. But this sassy, damaged spitfire is hellbent on keeping him at arm's length. Will she ever let him into her heart? Into her arms?

Merry isn't about to fall for a rockstar, one of the guys she works with. That's a surefire path to heartbreak, and she's not about to set herself up for that. But Noah is so persistent, and charming, and sweet that she's finding herself slowly giving into his determination. These two with their demons just may end up making room in their hearts for love after all.

Though I can't say Merry and Noah quite topped Sebastian and Cassie in my heart, I still fell hard for them and their story. I love their snarky banter, how they fell into a friendship that evolved, and how they finally found love and healing with each other. Now I'm eagerly waiting for the next Enemy Muse rockstar to fall in love.

“Thank you for never giving up on us,”
“Because I’m never going to give up on us. I’m yours, always.”

This is the second book in the Enemy Muse series and I couldn’t put it down. This series keeps getting better.

Merry works for the band but her ultimate goal is be a singer, so she is willing to start from the bottom even if that mean she has to take care of a bunch of playboy rockstars. Noah is the drummer to the biggest rock band in the world and let’s just say his first meeting with Merry was quite memorable especially for him. The second time they meet her perception of him changes and the tension between only grows and after a year of touring Noah is willing to take anything even if it’s just friendship. With the band done touring Merry is finally getting a chance at her dream but she has to work around the band’s schedule and she needs a place to stay which Noah is more then okay with offering his home. Now that they are living together Noah is doing everything in his power to get Merry finally give them a chance and she doing everything to keep at at arm’s length. But what happen when they cross that line in their friendship will they be able to let go of their past in order to be together or are they both to broken?
These two have incredible banter and chemistry from the beginning and their friendship only enhance their relationship. They were definitely complete opposites of each other but they were perfect for each other. Merry and Noah are two strong people but their past has broken them in a way that only the other could fix. With all the push & pull between these two, they finally snap and couldn’t keep their hands off each other. Noah and Merry definitely didn’t disappoint in the spice department🥵. This book has a bit of everything secrets, romance, heartbreak, family drama, addiction and so much more. And I absolutely love the ending.
I can’t wait for Eloise and Adrian’s book!

I would recommend if you like:

Forever and Ever is book two in author Eva Simmons’s Enemy Muse series, and wow, does it bring the angst. If you’re looking for a story with complex main characters, where he falls first (and falls hard), look no further.

Noah Hayes is one of the biggest rockstars in the world, and he has the habits to prove it. Whether it’s controlled substances or a plethora of women, Noah doesn’t hesitate to indulge. He meets his match in Merry, a new roadie working for the band. Her walls are sky high, and he can’t help but try to bring them down. Noah is willing to work for Merry’s affection; the problem is, he might just be waiting forever.

One of the deftest things that Simmons does in this book is regarding her development of Merry as a character. Merry is no shrinking violet, so if youre looking for a submissive female virgin-type who falls for a rockstar, this book isn’t it. Merry is empowered in her own sexuality and comfortable in her own skin. In many ways, she’s the grumpy to Noah’s sunshine, though both characters are far more complex than that.

“I’d hold her forever if she asked me to, no matter the damage.”

I love how Noah is invested from the beginning, and how he isn’t afraid to be vulnerable and sensitive with Merry. And Merry is so strong and has dealt with so much, that it’s understandable that she would be so guarded. Please do mind the triggers in this book, as there are a few that might affect some readers. Said triggers do spoil portions of the plot, though, so bear that in mind. I went into it blind, and was glad I did, but please take care of yourselves.

Overall, I enjoyed this book, and am thoroughly enjoying the series. I can’t wait to read what’s coming next!

Thank you to Grey’s Promotions and the author for the ARC. All opinions are my own.

Thanks Eva and Greys for sending me a copy of this book to read and review.

Well what a book. This story follows the Drumming Rockstar Noah from Enemy Muse and Merry.

Merry is a young women who has dreams nig ones. She knows what she wants and she will work her butt off to get it, even if it means working as a run around and starting at the bottom for Enemy Muse. Her first day meeting the bands Manager Adrian starts with a bang meeting the elusive Noah Hayes. Badass Drummer but when she walks in on him stark naked she doesn't seem to impressed.

Noah is spiralling when we first meeting high on drunks and alcohol, all to shut out the demons that threaten to pull him under. When he first see's merry standing in his room backstage he is hooked and her sassy mouth makes him want her more. he saws her rawness and the beauty that she is.

After Noah's spiral and a rehab stint he comes out determined to be a better person and to stay on the straight and narrow. He finds it harder than he thought he would but having Merry there and her continually turning him down only makes him more determined, to not only stay sober but to also win her heart.

This story was brilliant, I loved every second and couldn't put it down. The characters are incredible and soo easy to want to know more about. The heat and passion between these two is sizzling and when they finally let loose WOW! I seriously can not wait to read more about the Enemy Muse guys.

My Overall Rating is 5 💋💋💋💋💋
My Character Rating is 5❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
My Smut Rating is 2 🍆🍆
My Angst Rating is 2 😬😬

A fantastic angsty, rockstar romance as Enemy Muse’s drummer Noah, a recovering addict falls for their new roadie/assistant Merry. On the surface Noah comes across as being a happy go lucky character but, estranged from his church going family, on the inside he’s a seething mass of doubts and insecurities, fighting his inner demons as he tries to maintain a grip on his sobriety. Merry on the other hand is a complete bada$$. Tattooed and edgy, she can party with the best of them and is considered one of the boys by the band but she’s hiding painful secrets of her own and it isn’t long before Noah falls for her but she’s determined to keep him in the friend zone despite the strong sexual tension between them until she’s forced to move in with him and proximity means she can’t hold out any longer.

I loved the slow development of their relationship. Both the hero and heroine come with flaws and parental issues although Merry’s aren’t in the same league as Noah’s. They support each other through their issues. I also love the relationships between various members of the band. It’s more than obvious that they consider themselves a family and will be there for each other no matter what. Forever and Ever does cover several subjects that could be considered triggering for some but in my opinion they were handled in a sensitive manner and full kudos to Eva Simmons for not taking the obvious route in the epilogue and giving readers the cookie cutter finale.

“Maybe some things are worth the risk of regret,”

Book Two of the Enemy Muse series, ‘Forever and Ever’ was released today and as I embraced this book from front to back It was everything a rockstar romance should be. Noah and Merry will forever be engraved in my memory. Even though they had a tough go at first, Noah was persistent with his ‘dark goddess’. In this book we get the back story into Noah’s life and why he was spiraling out of control before he became sober. This only made him more attractive to me due to the fact that he fought his demons head on and fought hard for the woman he loved (didn’t hurt that David Bodas was the inspiration of Noah). Simmons brought these two characters to life within the pages of this book and did an excellent job doing it. The author tackles hard topics in the best way. You can’t help but fall for Noah and Merry’s characters. Another rockstar romance read in the books and it was well worth it. Start with the first book in the series ‘Heart Break Her’. Two books that will definitely tug at your heartstrings.

I was so excited to read more about Noah and Merry after the teases of them in Heart Break Her. I just knew there had to be a good story there and I was not wrong!

Noah made his attraction to Merry clear from the moment he met her. That moment, however, was not his best moment and Merry had no intentions of getting with a rockstar. She came to work on the tour in search of her own dream.

Noah worked so hard to refocus his life and his past struggles broke my heart for him. Merry is carrying the weight of the world on her shoulders and has her own past and looming dark cloud overhead that she’s running from. Dropping her walls and letting Noah in isn’t easy for her, even as she falls for him.

Through the issues they face, Noah is Merry’s rock and her safe place. He is 100% there for her and supporting her. I loved their story and these two immensely. I feel like MMCs with the name Noah have stole my heart recently and have been amazing leads. This Noah definitely lives up to the name.

A few more hints and teases dropped in this book for the next two books and I’m so excited for them.

I loved Sebastian and Cassie a lot, but Noah and Merry made me fall even more in love with this series. They are such islands at the start, with walls keeping them separate and safe, but lonely in their pain. I love that Eva wrote so many snippets of their story into book 1, and then began Forever and Ever with how they met. And what a non-meet-cute it was. This was a friends to lovers, opposites attract story that I really loved from start to finish. There was so much tension, but they didn’t really play games to hurt each other. Each knew what the other was doing. Their dynamic was perfect for a rockstar romance.

Merry is a force of nature and a bad girl in her own right. Noah plays the rockstar roll well, but really he’s a cinnamon roll guy. They tour together for months, keeping each other at arm's length, but also becoming friends. Noah pursues Merry with steadfast determination, but she just as stubbornly runs from all he offers. When the tour ends, he offers to let her stay with him while she records her demo. Now in close proximity, their walls begin to crack and the possibility of forever may not be so far off.

This story flew by in angst and action. The dynamic between Noah and Merry was thoroughly enjoyable, and though their HEA seemed inevitable, it was hard won. It was hot, both with their dialogue and steam together. Two sassy characters give you great dialogue. I loved the emotional rollercoaster this story takes you on. It’s a little slow burn, but in the best of ways. I can’t wait to see what comes next with Adrian and Eloise in Heart of a Rebel.

“𝐒𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐚𝐬 𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞 𝐦𝐲 𝐝𝐚𝐦𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐛𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐧𝐨 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐛𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐡𝐞𝐫.”

In her rockstar romance Forever and Ever, Eva Simmons follows drummer Noah Samuel Hayes and assistant Mercedes Adelita Garcia Lopez.

Based on this book and the first book in the Enemy Muse series, I realized that Eva has a tendency for having her heroes fall hard for the heroine right away. This time, though, it was Noah who was down bad for Merry since she walked in on him nude. Also, despite his image as a player, he still couldn't get Merry out his head and vice versa, which I adored since Merry fought so hard to stay away but ultimately failed because Noah was willing to wait for her forever.

There's the fact that this book was far more angsty. Like the background story of Merry was tragic but unfortunately common in reality. The same is true of Noah's story regarding drug addiction and the troubles of being a celebrity.

I won't lie; I secretly wished that Merry and Noah would have children in the epilogue, but after reading the acknowledgements, I understood that they didn't need children to be happy or to have a "traditional" family.

In all, Eva wrote such beautifully flawed characters who balanced each other out and were ideal for one another.

Forever and Ever is book two in the series, Enemy Muse. This is a rock star, opposites attract romance. The journey focuses on Noah Hayes and Merry Lopez.
The plot was well developed and touched on topics of addictions, grief, secrets, family drama, and so much more. There was strong character development as well.

Merry was definitely a tough nut to crack. She lets her fear and insecurities prevent her from truly living and being happy. She uses her tough girl act as a defense mechanism and could be extremely frustrating, but we finally see her vulnerable side. Noah has his own insecurities and demons. He copes by drowning himself in booze, women, and drugs and wears many fake masks of happiness. I did find their relationship to be somewhat unhealthy at times, at least from Noah, like a codependent type vibe that puts a lot of pressure on Merry.

Overall the book was enjoyable and an emotional read. It was nice to see a glimpse of Sebastian and Cassie going strong. There are more nuggets of info sprinkled in about the supporting characters giving us a glimpse of what's to come and I look forward to reading their stories.

Too slow of a burn for a couple who had been around each other forever- read in KU

They hadn't been together forever, but they had spent months touring together. In such close quarters, they knew each other well and had been orbiting around each other for a long time prior to the beginning of the book. It took too long for them to get together and then the story was too much about her medical issue.

Merry wasn't terribly likeable to me in the first book. She was a loyal friend, but it wasn't clear what she brought to the tour other than partying. I read these books back to back and I may have forgotten from book 1 what her job was, but it never was discussed in book 2. In book 1, all she seemed to care about was partying and sex.

She had a little more depth here, but not a lot more. I liked Noah better.

This series seems like a weak imitation of Jaine Diamond's Dirty series. What that series has thattl this one doesn't is a central connection to the band. The band is more on the periphery in this series. The relationships between the band members are severely lacking. I enjoyed the first book more than this one and will give the 3rd book a chance. These won't be retreads for me like the Dirty series is.

Merry and Noah, for Noah its about as near to love at first sight as you can get without it being that, for Merry she is not about to fall for a rock star.

Noah has to get 100 out of 10 for persistance but Merry is no push over. Merry wants to follow her own career in music, but you do kind of know she is also hiding or running from something. Eventually Noah manages to knock a couple of bricks not out of her wall but enough that he can at least get in. There's some seriously hot chemistry between them and a magical feel good factor starts washing over you, that is until Merry starts to open up a bit more with Noah and you start to see her pain.

I have to give Noah his due on this one, he doesn't let Merry's pain and hurt affect the way he feels about Merry. He is determined that not matter what she is his forever, all he has to do is convince Merry that nothing has changed, and he is going to ride this emotional rollercoaster right at Merry's side.

IMHO Eva Simmons has dealt with some very emotional issues in this book, with a great deal of care and sensitivity. Readers should be mindful of the Trigger Warnings accompanying this book.
