Let it Byrne #3

Truth, Always.

Rate this book
Mac Byrne

Mistakes, regrets, and bad decisions; they all know my name, birthday, and social at this point. I’m a liar, an addict, and an unreliable narrator. I’ve been drinking to mask the pain for so long that it’s barely scratching the surface anymore. When a ghost from my past comes back, I have a decision to make. Man up and becomes the person seven year old us needed, or sink into the waves that keep pulling me under. Is she here to haunt me or to pull me from the depths? Can I become the man I want to be? Or will I just be another who takes, breaks, and leaves? I know what I want to be, but do I have the power to break this vicious cycle I started at fourteen? Whatever I end up doing, one things for certain.
I have to tell her the truth, always

This entire series is absolutely amazing and I never want it to end. Each story gets better and better and deeper into the characters lives. This book is the third in the series and is Mac and Riley's story. Her story is so heartbreaking and gut wrenching. Though, through it all, Mac is by her side fighting tooth and nail to prove to her how much he loves her. Their story is one of triumph... and it's so deep. It's battling addiction and fighting to live. The emotions I felt in this one were crazy because some of the things hit a little close to home. I also really enjoyed all the little extra's from the other characters. Some very joyous moments occurred and I was literally crying happy tears for them. I truly never want this series to end. Nora really knows how to write an MMC. This series is a definite must read!

It's hard for me to even begin to pick a favorite book in the Byrnes series because they have all been so good!!! This one had me feeling all the feels. It was the perfect amount of real life things such as addiction, recovery, chronic illness, family, love, & of course some spice! I absolutely adore Mac Byrne and his determination to get better for not only himself but also so he can care for his woman. I also love how we still got some of our other faves from previous books throughout this one. I absolutely cannot wait for the next book!

💜 childhood friends
🖤 Trauma Healing
💜 Mafia

I love all the Bryne boys, but Mac and Riley’s story is gut wrenching and so emotional. This one had me in actual tears multiple times throughout this book. I loved the family connection between both families even when they didn’t like each other they were always there. Through all the abuse Riely went thru she overcame it best she could and became someone else, and Lee was a strong, independent women but deep inside still the same girl that Mac had loved since childhood and said he would one day marry.

5 ⭐ 2.5 🌶️
Hearting breaking, gut wrenching, emotional rollercoaster. I would have read it all in one sitting, but I needed a break! My poor soul.
They've both been through so, so much.

Rhett, adorable as always. Love that kid.
Lee's sibling group chat is hilarious.
So, wasn't all deep and dark, had some light moments.

This is my all time favorite Mafia romance series, thank you Nora Thomas ❤️

The third book in the Let It Byrne series was mostly maybe more “real life” drama than mafia drama in comparison to its predecessors, but was a good book overall. Other than maybe the reasons some things happened, I felt Mac very much fit a standard boy-next-door vibe. Reading the first two books sets the tone for the characters but if mafia romance isn’t your thing this book might give you a taste without having to dive all in.

This book is an outstanding and emotionally powerful read. It encompasses everything you could want: compelling characters that pull you in deeper with each page. The themes of trauma, pain, healing, redemption, romance, love, and plenty of spice are masterfully woven throughout the narrative. I couldn’t put it down and finished it in half a day. It’s an absolute must-read!

4.5 ⭐️ I loved reading the journey Mac and Lee endured together. They didn’t run when things got hard, they had great communication and nothing but love and understanding for the other while helping each other heal. I need the next book yesterday 😂

I really enjoyed this third book in the series! I think I’ll always have a sweet spot for Rowan but I love getting the stories of all the Byrne brothers. Really looking forward to Declan’s book next and I secretly hope it’s a MM romance LOL! There is so much tension between him and Jakob and I can’t wait to see what happens!! I also love the twins and really can’t wait to read their books too. Mac’s journey hit hard for me, with a family member who is a high functioning alcoholic like Mac was. The only critique I have is that it’s very rare there isn’t a relapse during recovery, especially within the first year of sobriety. Mac’s journey to being sober felt too easy in my personal opinion, as it wouldn’t have just been an easy switch for someone who’s been drinking since they were 14. However that didn’t take away from the heart of the overall story. I enjoyed reading about Lee and her family. Would actually be so interested to hear more about Dieter’s story and hope we get to see him more! I’d still recommend this series to others but I would tell them to read any trigger warnings, as it can be a touchy subject for some. I received an arc copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
