2/2/25 Not sure if I finished it on the 19th or 20th but 🤷🏻♀️ more importantly, I don't know if it's because I knew this is by the author who wrote LLTG and MingLan that my expectations were too high? Granted I didn't read those other two books, just watched the 2 excellent dramas, and maybe they were adaptations/the rare lucky bears where the drama is better than the book?
Like I'm not mad I read the book. But ... it wouldn't be that high on my list of recs. Maybe if someone was specifically looking for xianxia/xuanhuan or whatever this is. Not exactly wuxia but kinda. Wuxia plus?
I was frustrated by the tropey cliche misunderstandings and shit. Also how badly FL treated ML. [And what a terrible judge of character she was? Although one ... def fooled everyone. Well, a lot. Ugh.] Just always the "righteous sect" being shitty.
I'm not mad I read it - but ... man - curious how the adaptation will go cuz tbh imo they don't have that much to work with :X it'll be a fuckton of more of the same...
Not a BAD read - I was obviously engaged enough to read the whole thing, and I really liked ML. Felt he was the best character.
