Dr. Reid relays interesting pet care experiences with a dangerous bull camel, a fish named Fred needing surgery, and boxer Layla’s newborn pups needing all hands-on-deck support. You can feel his appreciation for dedicated zookeepers and the welfare of zoo animals, including Noah the giraffe, and the monkeys and the tigers that came in for health checkups.
Dr Reid also details many who have helped him along the his partners and mentors, veterinary staff, his students, friends and many clients. You understand his gratefulness for the kindness of farmers, whether he’s performing ultrasound checks on valuable cattle or out for an emergency surgery in a blizzard. Many talented registered veterinary technicians and administrative staff have been key to his successful animal care, day-to-day and especially during the challenging curbside veterinary clinical care during the pandemic.
Dr. Reid has trained and mentored hundreds of veterinary students and graduates. All profits from the sale of his book will go to help support veterinary students in need with their educational expenses.

I purchased this book on Amazon as the author, a long time friend, is both intelligent and a great storyteller.
In this collection of short stories, you will both learn and laugh. You will also see the dedication and time spent by small town, ALL animal veterinarians, and will agree, his wife is a saint! Dr. Reid treats them all… big and small, from grizzlies, camels, and rhinoceri to farm animals to house pets. He is an inquisitive professional who continues to learn and practice past the age when some of us have retired.
Thank you for your dedication, sense of humour and for sharing your work with others through these stories!
