January’s reputation is on thin ice and he’s being forced to fix it. Noelle’s family business is going under and she will do all it takes to save it… But is marriage between these former childhood best friends really the answer?

January Cameron Snow, A.K.A The Prince of Ice, has a reputation for being a cold hearted bastard on and off the ice hockey rink. He’s made a lot of mistakes in his life, but the one that sticks with him is breaking Noelle’s heart.

Noelle Winter Darlington spends days using her influencer status to try and save her family's ski lodge and her nights convincing herself she’s over the man who broke her heart.

When their parents arrange a mutually beneficial marriage between the pair, they have no choice but to agree. But while January makes the most of the situation trying to win back the girl of his dreams, Noelle is trying her hardest not to get hurt again.
Will they manage to play pretend long enough to fix their problems, or will real feelings drive them further apart?
Noelle Darlington and January Snow grew up at Noelle’s family’s ski resort together. They harboured a crush on each other for years. They slept together. And then January left to join the Phoenix Badgers, leaving Noelle heartbroken. Now though, the Darlington Ski Resort is struggling and January needs to clean up his image. So what better way to do that than an arranged marriage between them. January sees this as a chance to make it up to Noelle after his sudden departure all those years ago. But Noelle is bent on revenge. Will she learn to forgive January? Or will he break her heart all over again?
Play Ice was exactly what I needed at this time in my life. It was fun, silly and light-hearted while also showcasing life with POTS through the FMC Noelle. Noelle and January’s banter was always fun, a constant through their up and down relationship. For me personally, I found the pacing a bit confusing and there was a bit of “white room” writing when I wanted to be immersed in the scenery of the ski resort and ice rink sidelines. However, it was a really fun read and the perfect book to get this tired mumma out of her reading slump!

“January isn’t a smiler, so when he does, it’s game over for my panties.”
This was sweet and fluffy and a completely different story to what I’ve seen from hockey romances so far.
January was your text book grump, and I loved that, I loved that you only got to see him thaw around Noelle. Even though he was the one to break her heart, he was still so obsessed with her for years and years, to the point he didn’t need to build up to loving her again, he always has.
Noelle is the complete opposite of January, a complete sunshine. Even with her health condition she still tried her goddamn best to see the positive in everything. Although she didn’t let January get away with anything. She held him accountable for everything.
I loved how they both reverted back to their teenage self’s whenever they was near one another, resorting to banter and childish comments, it added to the humour of the book, and really worked for their characters.
Their parents and Samantha schemed to the high heavens to make it work, and it was kinda cheeky, mess up and well it worked.
Definitely a fun read and can’t wait to see what happens with the rest of the series that Brittany has planned.

“It’s an honour being princess Noelle’s prince. How does anybody expect me to give that up?”
