Love after Grief
This was a Christmas story that definitely tugged at the heartstrings.
Noel and Amoni King are head over heels in love. They have come along way and despite not having good role models for parents ot marriage, they were doing a great job with their own family. Preparing to bring their second child into the world tragedy strikes and life as they know it ends.
Ebenee is the nanny that helps Noel put his life back together after a rough year. She has a special connection with both babies and for that Noel is grateful. Noel and Ebenee seem to also have an unspoken fire burning between them. It took some time but Ebenee was so respectful, patient, and caring to them all.
This was a sweet story, but there were quite a few editing errors. This was a rerelease so why not take the time to polish it. There were conflicts in the story like how is she sitting on his face, but then he takes off her shorts afterwards? Then they got married in April, but she was his fiance on the next page. Unfortunately the typos were sprinkled throughout.

I started this thinking oh this is soft, this is safe, this is Black family bliss. Noel was showing up in all the ways that matter. Loving husband, devoted father, present partner. Amoni was wrapped in security and intention. Adoration for his family leaped off the pages. The kind of love that makes you exhale while reading. 🤎 Then BOOM Tragedy 😭 No warning. No mercy. Just grief ripping the floor out from under everything.
That’s what this story does so well it doesn’t romanticize loss. It sits in it. Grief isn’t neat, it isn’t polite and it sure isn’t on a schedule. Ten months later and Noel is still bleeding internally. Waking up to a life he never agreed to live, without the woman who was supposed to be there for all of it. Surviving for his kids while quietly drowning himself. Survivor's guilt is a beast!
The way the universe circled back and placed Ebenee right back in his path. That wasn’t coincidence that was alignment doing its thing. The same nurse he snapped on in his darkest moment becoming the exact person his home needed. Ebenee whew hunni. She's patient, grounded and empathetic. She understood that loving a grieving man means loving him in pieces, in pauses, in silence. Even when he was acting out and absolutely deserved a two piece with an uppercut.
This story wasn’t just about romance it was about closure, healing, and learning how to breathe again after life knocks the wind out of you. Painful, beautiful and necessary. Just a little heads up keep those tissues close.

A Mother’s Love
Grief will definitely change the way you see ppl and things!!!…It will shatter you, it will scare you and it can send you spiraling!!!…
Ebenee gave Noel the tongue lashing he needed, because in the midst of his regret & dealing with the loss of his wife, he forgot his children lost their mother!!!…
Noel was scared and questioning his reasoning for still living when the woman he was living for was gone!!!…
Among sacrificed herself for her son to live, knowing that he and Amaya would be in good hands with their father!!!…

I”m starting to realize after reading this book that I love a love after loss romance. Noel’s story was heartbreaking and definitely brought a few tears to my eyes. Ebenee entered into his life at the right time full of love. Ebenee had her own traumas thanks to her horrendous parents. Noel and Ebenee’s love story was a bumpy but beautiful ride. I’m looking forward to reading more of Kami’s books!

Tis the season for closure
I really did enjoy the story. I love the bond that form between Noel and Ebenee, she was exactly what he needed. This was the perfect Christmas story.

Too cute!
Loved it!! Ebenee was sent by Amino to look after her family. Noel needed that love and understanding. This was such a cute read. I loved this!!
