Paige Yarrow is a true-crime-obsessed, cheerful girl who loves binge-watching horror movies and reading with her friends. On the outside, she’s full of sunshine. On the inside, she’s haunted by nightmares and memories from her past. She’s determined to move forward but moves three steps back when she discovers a dead body on campus. Her fixation on who did it turns into a full-fledged investigation with secret sleuthing and an unlikely connection with her partner.
Oliver Bakeris a quiet and reserved guy most people would describe as grumpy. He enjoys watching old movies, cooking, and working out in his spare time. He tries to stay on the outside of everything, not wanting to risk anyone he loves being ripped away from him again. But when a murder happens on campus—and the girl he’d do anything to protect wants to solve it—he throws himself in the middle of it so she’s not alone.
As their investigation picks up and secrets are kept hidden, they realize there might be feelings underneath the surface—and neither of them knows what to do about it.
Emily Tudor creates characters and stories about platonic and romantic love for anyone and everyone. She lives in the state of New York and loves listening to music and creating stories. She loves Marvel movies, the song mirrorball by Taylor Swift, and buying too many books when she already has many to read at home.
4.5 stars ✨ how in the world was this so good? Emily Tudor really outdid herself. I loved the first book in the series but this one was even better. a romance book with a mystery? sign me up.
Reconsidering the Facts is the perfect friends-to-lovers and best-friends-brother romance 🫶🏻 and Emily Tudor’s writing is amazing Paige and Oliver’s relationship and friendship are truly everything and I had so many butterflies reading about them 🦋 I underlined so many parts of the book that I just can’t wait to get the physical copy to do all the annotations
I don’t think I can properly explain how much I love and relate to Paige and Oliver is just the cutest. all the characters in this book are incredibly well-written and I want to be their friends 🥹 I loved all the moments between Hads and Grant, the couple from the first book in the series 🫶🏻 and all the moments between Hads, Paige, Amelia and Ella.
can’t wait to read the next books in the series ✨
read this book if you love: ✨ friends to lovers ✨ best friends brother ✨ found family ✨ he falls first ✨ grumpy x sunshine
i actually am convinced this book is for me because paige is me and oliver is mine!!! basically this is for me!!!
3.5/5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️
okay okay okay! while i lv paige and oliver i felt like their story was a bit dragged out! while it was necessary it was just a tad long for my liking! oliver was actually so cute and so was paige! definitely sunshine and moon couple vibes!! hads did piss me off a bit when she found out though…like i get they lied but you did tell him to stay away!!! saur i would hide it from you if i were them! still adore her though! just wanted to deck her in the face for a couple minutes <3 ella, alissa, leo, henry, amelia, and grant cameos were my fav. henry, grant, and oliver’s bond was so cute i could cry <3 the little boyfriend club <3 ella and leo on halloween. that’s it. no words needed.
amelia and HENRY. doubled over in pain, screaming, crying, throwing up, curled in a ball, and throwing my phone across the room. thank you.
my one ick was his pet name for her! nothing wrong with it. it’s literally just 2013 harry styles wattpad core. couldn’t read the word love without hearing “ello luv”!
sherlock & watson’s investigation - absolutely devoured it and was obsessed! though i will say i wasn’t expecting all the threats and all that jazz! i will proudly say i. fucking. KNEW. it. (thank u criminal minds) the reasoning is so sad. me personally i thought how girlboss, ya know?
paige aka sunshine! ☀️- she deserves the world and i hate her family. she built her own family though so it’s okay! she did cry a lot…like a lot a lot but it’s okay!
oliver aka moon! 🌙- he is actually so babygirlism. lv lv lv him. the most down to earth man ever. my 22 king!! the nickname ruined you i’m sorry.
4.5 stars someone tell me what she put in this book. I could not put it down. oliver and paige were so well done as a couple and separately. I deeply appreciate the mental health representation in this book and you can tell how genuine it is. it was also a joy to see the authors growth from her debut novel because she knocked this book out of the park. 🩵
4.5 stars i loved this one so much! full review to come
reconsidering the facts | emily tudor🔎
•friends to lovers •grumpy x sunshine •romantic suspense •best friends brother •found family
this is my love letter to emily & the grand mountain universe!! congratulations on book number 2 i am endlessly proud of you and feel so lucky that i get to see one of my besties follow her dream and grow as an author! i feel like from the authors note alone i could already tell how much emily’s writing has grown & you can feel all the passion she puts into this universe! this book was so phenomenal it made me cry, it made me laugh, it made me giggle and kick my feet!
paige paige paige my little mirrorball sunshine girl. i loved EVERYTHING about her character. i think emily did an amazing job of showing paige’s internal thoughts vs her outwards attitude. how she struggled with her feelings and her family relationships while she was just this contagious ball of sunshine on the outside. i loved all the raw emotions we got to see with paige
and don’t even get me started on my baby oliver. he was such a KING! okay yes he was a little grumpy but who doesn’t love that?! and the way he was able to open up around paige and confide in her. how he helped her with her panic attacks and just accepted her for her. & he was always there when she needed him. he’s a great listener and an even better friend to those he cares about. i also loved his love/hate relationship with amelia — it had me cackling
overall, these two brought out the best in each other. & love confessions are my favorite parts in romance books and i absolutely loved the way this was done in reconsidering the facts, the romance in this one is everything!
i do need to talk about the plot as well because outside of the romance and found family we have a little suspenseful plot line! i loved how it kept me on the edge of my seat, it also showed how well paige and oliver work together and gave their relationship a different dynamic since we got to see outside conflict.
overall i adored this book and i am endlessly proud of you emily🧡 now i need book 3 asap because leo & ella are going to be the definition of enemies to lovers. they’re attraction and chemistry is so palpable and i already know they’re banter will be my new favorite.
Thank you so much Emily for providing me with an e-arc! <3
All opinions are my own.
You guys. This book was literally so good. As a CJ girlie, I tend to be a little skeptical of mystery-esque books, since they're usually easy for me to piece together & I know a lot about crime scene stuff. But I have to say, this is a book done right. Emily constructed the "perfect crime" - one that I didn't even see coming! And as someone who spent countless hours & sleepless nights doing crime scene assignments, Emily nailed what its like to be a criminal justice major. (Which, may not be a big deal to some, but its a big deal to me, okay??)
Other than the fact that this murder mystery was to die for (haha, get it?), the romance was EXQUISITE. Paige and Oliver are my little precious babies <3
Emily crafted such beautiful & well-rounded characters, and I was so glad to watch them develop even more than they did in book one. It was like watching my little children grow up :)
I def recommend this one, and make sure you read Replaying the Game first (I mean, you don't have to, but it def makes it more enjoyable).
“The moon glows using light from the sun. It’s like they chase each other in the sky from night to day, only to just miss one another every time.” “Well, if I’m the moon, would that make you the sun?”
4.5 stars
my girl em got me giggling and kicking my feet at paigeoliver!!! i loved them so much, they were so fun to read and i loved how protective oliver was over paige. they are angels to be protected at all costs. they are truthfully perfect for eachother! i adored that this book was also a murder mystery, i love a good crime novel and plot twist, they are so fun to try and solve!! emily truly through me for a loop at that plot twist at the end, like excuse ME?
all i know now is i will patiently be waiting for my oliver/henry to arrive in the mail thank you, because men like them obviously do not exist. also that extended epilogue has my heart, ate it right up and holds it for life. i’m dead. also grant was the mvp in this book, his one liners were hilarious whilst he is also the cutest little bean ever!!
the biggest thank you to my queen emily for allowing me to read an arc of this book, i cannot wait for ella and amelia’s stories now, as in i need them tomorrow BYEEEE
4.5🌟 wow. i loved loved loved this book! the perfect amount of murder mystery and romance. such a unique idea and i adored how it all played out. i also love the ground mountain girls and how their group expanded!!! paige and oliver are just everything. their love is so pure. so proud of all the amazing girls that put in so much hard work, you can definitely tell from reading this. so proud 💜💜💜💜
“Anytime I listen to Taylor Swift in the future, I'll be thinking of Paige. I wouldn't have it any other way.”
GAAAAAH 😭 I’m sad this is overrr!! It was SUCH a good read. I love paigeoliver so much, the friendships in this book, the music references and I’m so proud of Emily’s creations . Both books were so wonderful !!
dit boek is lett speciaal geschreven voor mij lett romance x murder investigation EN criminal minds references???!!!!! oliver is zwaar joe jonas en paige is alles behalve blond da eeft heel men gedachten verstoord aan t einde v t boek 😓
thank you so so much Emily for sending me an ARC!!!!
This was my first read out of The Grand Mountain series and I am abso-fucking-lutely obsessed. I loved how even though I did not read the first book, yet :), I still got loads of insight into their world and every important character, and how their lives look.
It's an adult contemporary romance, written through first pov. So we really get to be inside the heads of Paige and Oliver. I loved how Oliver stayed true to himself, wasn't super grumpy (personally, I'm so over the male main character being overly grumpy), and his background story was super interesting to me. I must say, I would have loved if I got a bit more of how he was back then and how that shaped him before really getting into the story of him and Paige. But, then again, we could've had a bit of foreshadowing of that in the first book, since the female main character in that book is Oliver's sister.
Paige is such a strong woman, and I admire her way of growing up. She escaped her childhood, and ran with it, straight into the arms of a friend (kind of found family) group who all love and support her. The way they're so protective of her and care for her, knowing they build years of friendship, is so beautiful to read about. To know that there are friendships like that out in the world, warms my heart. I long to have that some day. And, the little details of tote bags, chapsticks & taylor swift music was super cute.
Now, the big thing of the book is everything and all murder mystery, and them being obsessed with solving it. I love how Paige is all about it, and Oliver is all about it, and together they are just this team that sparkles magic. It was giving Ravi & Pippa energy to me???? Oliver is such a caretaker for Paige, like how Ravi is such a caretaker for Pippa!! it was just TOO ADORABLE.
Y'all the epilogue made me cry, I swear I did. It might have been because it was 4am at night, me being on my period and all, hormones dancing, chasing the high of a perfect romance ending. But either way, I sobbed.
I have to admit, Ella is going to my favourite– yes, babes, Ella is going to be IT IT IT. I could feel the juicy cutting tension by just the halloween scene, and, oh my god how I gobbled that down. reconciling with the rival cannot come any sooner.
Thank you again for the ARC, Emily, I ate this up. I hope to read reconciling with the rival soon (eeeeek)!!
there are so many things i want to say and i know i’m going to forget like all of them, but i want to thank emily first for sending me this advance copy, i loved it so very much. (and you emily! tons!)
okay. the review. i didn’t think i would enjoy this one as much as i enjoyed replaying the game because i’m a romance girly and the murder mystery vibes aren’t my thing. but guys. she proved me wrong. so so so so wrong.
i loved oliver SO MUCH, and fell in love with paige too, they’re both so 💞💝💖💗💞💕 my lil soulmates. found myself relating to paige so many times, and you know i always love feeling a connection with the characters.
also, not me falling in love with ANOTHER side character (emily please don’t introduce any more lovable qt pies in the next book i can’t handle it). first my man jacks (for real guys id marry that man right now) and NOW LOVER NOAH. send help, i have too many fictional boyfs bc of miss emily
the relationship between oliver and paige, the friendship between the bookclub girls, grant, oliver, & henry bromance, sibling goals between oliver and hads, grant being incorporated into the group, the dynamic between oliver and amelia, the cameo from jacks (😉) were all absolutely perfectly written.
emily’s writing made me laugh, cry, blush, and experience actual fear. she has improved so much since her debut, and this was one of my most anticipated releases since replaying the game and my girl did not disappoint.
first, emily, thank you for the arc. i love you, your creative mind, and the love you radiate endlessly. i am SO proud of everything you’ve accomplished and everything i know you’ll continue to accomplish. your talent amazes me every day.
this book, my gosh. i loved every second of it. i am a HUGE murder/mystery fan and this book delivered everything i could ever want <3
paige & oliver my babies. i loved watching the continuous love and support and comfort that they both had for each other from beginning to end. they’re so perfect for each other and no one solves a mystery better than them. the grumpy x sunshine trope is so cute and i just loved their relationship.
this book is so easy to relate to and it HURT. everything was written so beautifully and paige just deserves so much more. she truly deserves all the love in the world.
oliver UGH. i’m obsessed with him. him calling paige “love” and “p” is so :,))
side characters are of course lovely as always (henry and grant are forever my favs).
This is a masterpiece for real! All of the characters have my heart, i can't ugh! One of the best slow burn romances i have read, Emily really out did herself! This book gave me all the emotions and feelings, PaigeOliver my beloved!
This friend group really live rent free in my head!
I could relate with parts of everyone on the group and for real i wish i had a chosen family like that!!
I love their book club and their movie nights, the support they show eachother, the inside jokes, their text threads, EVERYTHING!
LITERALLY this book is the meaning of "one for all and all for one."
PaigeOliver's chemistry was *chef's kiss*, their jokes, the nicknames, their inside thoughts everything was so amazingly written!
CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT ONE!
If you love slow burn romance x mystery, found family, sister's bff/bff's brother, grumpy x sunshine & he falls first, as much as me then THIS ONE'S FOR YOU!
Forever Thankful to Emily for trusting me with her ARC 🙏🏻
“Oliver feels like home to me (...) Can you feel homesick for a home you barely had? Can a home be a person? I think so.”
Where -and I'm being serious right know- is my trigger warning, why didn't they announce that this book was gonna destroy me completely. I fucking adore them. I'm not one for the found family books, but this was a really nice read. I'm just gonna ad another quote that I adore because this was tooo much !!!
“I never thought it was possible to fall in love with someone so many different times, but you continue to prove me wrong.” 💘💓💞💝
I don’t even know where to START. I was already sold at murder mystery/romance/grumpy sunshine—but, OLIVER???? O L I V E R 🥲🫠🤰🏻😀 I loved his relationship w Paige so so much. Especially how protective he was from the very beginning 🥹 Paige my GIRL 🫶🏻 To be fair, I’d be protective of her too, she’s just that precious 💜 The epilogue was ✨chef’s kiss✨ The EXTENDED epilogue was ✨chef’s kiss x100✨ I can’t wait for EllaLeo!
Going into this book, I really had no idea what to expect!! but my GOSH. I loved this book. I related to so much in this book, and I really loved that. the whole friendship group in this book is so sweet. Oh my goddddddd 😭
OLIVER AND PAIGE 💖💖💖💖💖💖 MY BABIES OMG LOVE THEM SO MUCH!! This book is definitely close to my heart for sure. There were so many good quotes in this book!!! I literally ran out of tabs bc of it😭😭
More of a review will be posted on my insta: bookswithtiaaa. Hehehe
Queen Emily does it again 🥲🥲 loved Paige and Oliver 🧡🧡 it did get a little long and I’m bummed that we never found out what happened to the dean’s son.
Emily, I feel like I have found a home with your characters. I feel like the girls are SO well written. The love they feel for each other (and the love you feel for their inspirations) JUMPS off the page. I simply cannot wait to hear all the tea between Ella and Leo.

I have to start this review by saying that everything that Emily’s going to write, I’m going to read, and I cannot wait to read the next book in the series. I already have it on my Kindle. I just haven’t started it, but back to this book.
This book was perfection. I loved the romance scenes, but also I loved the crime scenes in the book and the investigation. And I have to say my favourite thing other than the characters and the storyline was the chapters when you did not know whose POV you were reading.
Paige is literally my person, and I really loved her in this book. She is kind of like me because I love crime, and I would’ve totally investigated too.
Oliver was also kind of cute.Yeah, he was. I love that he, like always, was kind to her in his own language and always cared about her. He just didn’t know there was that depth that he loved her, and their relationship is one of my favourites other than Grant’s. I have to say Grant was again one of the main characters in this book. I just love him with all my heart. I have to say it: in every book, he makes me love him more.
I will get this book ♾️ stars, and I’m probably going to give it, but I can only give it five infinite stars, and I cannot wait to learn more about Leo and Ella, and thank you for gifting me this arc after it was already out. Thank you, Emily.
me, reaching the end and finding out that despite all the evidence I compiled of henry looking/doing/saying something that apparently only I found suspicious, he is not a serial killer: *jennifer lawrence voice* what do you mean? WHAT DO YOU MEAN?
This book was not good at all. The flirting was meh and the relationship was ok. I liked how Oliver helped Paige through her panic attacks but the whole investigation was not the romance I signed up for. Especially since it was so boring. I really thought this book would be good too, especially after reading the first book.

emily, ur writing impresses me more and more even time. the grand mountain girlies are actually my favorite people ever.
reading paige and oliver’s story actually was so precious. these two characters are so loveable and oliver is SO bbg 😍
fav character is this book is gonna have to go to grant tho. HE WAS AMAZING, and his development from each book actually made me so happy bc i think i laughed at all of his lines.
if i could give this more than 5 stars i would in an instant.
(spoilers from here on out)
OK, this book was so agggtm coded but was just as good if not dare i say better….?!
the two are very equal and are similar in plot but i didn’t mind that at all, it was different in all the right spots.
meeting henry?!?!?! he’s so loveable and all these boys are so bbg it HURTS. henry was all i could’ve asked for and more!!
THE PLOT TWIST?!?!?!?! AHKBSTJBSRJLGD IT WAS AMAZING!!!!
i did cry during chapter 40 in case ur curious. and the chapters written in penelope’s perspective actually scared me.
overall, this book was AMAZING. and i cannot wait for ellaleo, and my favorites, ameliahenry 🥹💗
Deep breaths. And… OH. MY. F. GOD!!!!! This book!!! These characters!!! This story!!!
Firstly, Paige, my baby. I love you and i want to hug you so tight and tell you how much you deserve all the happiness in the world! I saw myself in you a lot…and honestly, Emily, thank you!
Oliver, I NEED A BOYFRIEND LIKE YOU BC I NEED MY SAFE SPACE AND OMG!
Their backgrounds are just so 💔❤️🩹 and I’m so in love with them and their healing together and just AAAHHH!!!!
Okay, okay…the girls!!! I love their friendship and i also love that i have that for myself in real life!
THAT PLOT!!! Okay, i needed a little bit more about it bc, like, this book is essentially about a murder case. I needed more of *????* to have more suspense. But OMG THE TWIST!!
Anyway, I claimed Henry since we got introduced to this world, from the beginning. And i knew I made the right choice and I’m in love with him and i need his book now, please!
EMILY I LOVE YOU. Also, what is it with authors named Emily that write about my actual life and rip my heart and put it back together again?
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 Spice: 🌶️🌶️ Tropes: 💕 Second chance Romance 💕 Grumpy x sunshine 💕 Murder mystery 💕 Jealousy trope 💕 Found family
Thoughts: After reading the first book, I had to read this one. There were hints to Oliver & Paige’s relationship in the first book and it was a rollercoaster. I loved Paige, she was so bubble and fun but she was also so grounded which made her so realistic! I loved how Oliver knew all of the little things about Paige and how he supported her throughout the whole book. They both broke walls down and it was such a nice book to read. I can’t wait to read Amelia’s story and Ella’s story!!
