When always been the bridesmaid never the bride meets always the bestman never the groom, that's where a friendship of being each other's plus one blooms.
"You started as being my plus one, but you were my everything all along."
Rachel and Cam decide to pick each other as their plus one so they wouldn't feel alone when everyone's getting married but soon their own past relationship baggage starts to be a huddle.
Th mmiscommunication made me wanna go inside the book and put some senses in their brains but it was nice to see how it all unfolds in the end.
A nice read where the pair fits together like those last two pieces in a puzzle and when they finally become the couple it was really amazing

Tropes:
* Always the Bridesmaid never the Bride
* Miscommunication
* Sunshine x Grumpy Groomsman
* Banter
* Found Family
* Girl Gang
* HEA

This was the perfect funny, cute, sweet, infuriating palette cleanser that I needed after reading Body Tox. Very low spice but high on the good vibes and Friends are family.

Rachel and Cam are made for each other, they know it, everyone else knows it, but they have past relationship baggage that keeps them from moving forward together. This applies to Cam more than it does for Rachel.

Did I want to freaking Gibbs slap Cam in the back of the head more than once, yes...Yes I did....In fact it was pretty much the entire book I wanted to smack him, with sweet moments in between where we saw the man he could be for Rachel if he wasnt so damaged from his ex Fiance Britt.

I really hate the "3rd act breakup"* and "Miscommunication" tropes but went out on a limb to give this a try and I wasnt disappointed, I really liked the book. I can say however that I still firmly do not like those tropes 😂

Overall solid, feel good, banter book where the girl and the guy are a match made in heaven and when they finally get out of the way they are golden.

*was a sort of 3rd act breakup but not completely as they wernt actually dating

Angela Haas is officially on my “must read everything by this author list!” My Plus One = You is an absolute gem with a storyline that is heartwarming, sweet, & fun.

I completely fell in love with Rachel & Cam. There were so many laugh out loud moments and their banter was perfect. The attraction & chemistry between the two was undeniable. The two had past relationships that were not great & because of being hurt, Cam is full of so much doubt & fear about love. Amongst all the humor in this book there is self discovery, adding a deepness to the lighthearted plot. This was a bit of a slow burn, but not in a bad way at all! I couldn’t wait for them to break their rules, & when they finally did I was all for it! Every part of this book was so well written & I really didn’t want it to end!

If you are looking for a whole hearted, feel good romance, then you need to go read My Plus One = You! 𝑻𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒌 𝒚𝒐𝒖 @angela_haas_writes & @greyspromo 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝑨𝑹𝑪!

This was such a fun light read! When you don’t want to be the only single one at the party or the only single guest at a wedding you make a pact with a guy who wants the same things. Only there will be no strings attached just friends only. Butttt oh things change!! There are other things going on in the background with exes and family members and I love the way it’s wrapped up at the end!! Im glad Rachel finally got to come to terms with the other half of her family. The ending was PERFECT!!!

I was very fortunate to receive an arc copy of My Plus One = You by Angela Haas from Grey’s Promotions. Thank you!

this was such an entertaining book and its easy to breeze through. its cute and funny, romantic, lots of tension and chemistry, while also being being a little frustrating at times. the characters, especially the mmc and fmc are very realistic. this has miscommunication of all sorts, as well as assumptions which was irritating but i think that was one of the perks of this book and tends to happen irl a lot! and i love how this book showcases a very toxic mother since i almost never see that in anything else i read. and the found family omg! its so refreshing to read something where the two mcs are healing together and find solace in each other.

This is Rachel and Cameron’s story.
These two meet at a friend’s wedding, and both want to avoid relationships after past experiences, but there is an instant attraction between them, and they make a pact to survive the wedding season as each other’s +1’s. Rachel has a home décor shop where brides register, while Cam has a bakery.
This is a well written story which has family, friendships, emotions, fake relationships, opposites attract, humor, witty banter, strangers / friends / lovers, undeniable chemistry, and love, which leads to an entertaining, heartfelt, and sweet addictive page turner.
I look forward to reading more from this author whose work I recommend.

Was lucky enough to be an ARC reviewer for “My Plus One = You” (thank you to Angela Haas and Grey’s Promotions) and it’s finally out today! 🤩

A delightfully lighthearted romantic comedy, this centers on Rachel and Cam and how they navigate attending weddings and events as single people. With their own reasons and outside pressures, Cam and Rach decide to make a pact to be each other’s plus ones. The way their friendship grows is so funny (ahem, Hot Baker 🥵) and with an HEA, we love a swoony declaration scene 😭

Rachel and Cam are both perpetually single at all their friends’ weddings, and both have very deep wounds and good reasons for not having anyone in their lives.

Recognising that life would be easier without people trying to set them up with others, or forever asking if they’re seeing anyone, they agree to be each other’s “plus one” at future events.

This story is so warm, so real, so raw, so honest, heartwarming and funny - in equal measures.

I had the most amazing time getting to know Rachel, Cam and all their friends and family.

Humour is wound throughout the story so effortlessly, and in such ‘real world’ moments. I found myself laughing and snorting unexpectedly a number of times.

There’s a brilliant couple reveal towards the end that was unexpected but a perfect pay-off and had me grinning during that scene.

This has been such a beautiful story to read, and I can only hope that there are more to come both with these friends, and more romances from this author.

I received an ARC copy and this is my honest review.

Angela Haas delivers a delightful rom-com with "My Plus One = You," set against the vibrant wedding season in Scottsdale, Arizona. This book is an absolute gem for anyone who loves a good romantic comedy that's not only humorous but also deeply insightful into the complexities of relationships during a time when it feels like everyone is finding their happily ever after—except you.

Rachel and Cameron, our protagonists, decide to tackle the onslaught of weddings by becoming each other's plus-ones, setting ground rules to keep things simple and, most crucially, to avoid falling in love. The chemistry between them is palpable, making the 'no falling in love' rule increasingly difficult to maintain.

The narrative is packed with laugh-out-loud moments and a slow-burning romance that perfectly balances the sweetness and challenges of finding love when you least expect it. The twists and emotional depth Haas brings to this story are compelling, making it easy to visualize this novel as a hit romantic movie.

"My Plus One = You" is not just a story about surviving wedding season; it's about confronting past pains and opening up to unexpected possibilities. A great debut indeed—Angela Haas is definitely an author to watch out for in the romance genre. Can't wait to see what she writes next!

My Plus One = You is absolutely adorable! It was well-written, paced well, light-hearted, entertaining, and full of witty banter between Cameron and Rachel.

Cameron and Rachel are both perpetually single. Although they have common friends, it isn't until she's a bridesmaid and he's an unexpected groomsman at one couple's wedding that they finally meet. After hitting it off at the wedding, they agree to be each other's plus-one for a string of upcoming events.

As they attend a variety of weddings and other events together, Cam and Rachel grow close. There is undeniable chemistry between them, but Cam is still carrying around baggage from his ex that is holding him up from being able to move forward and start something real with Rachel. (In fact, they both have horrible exes, who cause issues for them multiple times, but his ex really gives "Mean Girl" a new meaning!)

Eventually, they pause their friendship so they can both work on themselves. And admittedly, I cried. I was rooting for these two so hard! But then this line made it so worth the wait: "The greatest pain is being away from you, because while you started as my plus one, you turned out to be my everything.”

Knowing that this was the first foray into romance for fantasy writer Angela Haas... I was quite impressed! I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

This was such a fantastic light and fun romance with lovable characters and witty banter! I really love the author’s writing style as she brings this story to life in many ways making it seem like you’re reading about a real life friend group!

Rachel works in her family business and is feeling a bit disheartened as she is always the bridesmaid, never the bride. How many weddings can someone attend without getting a little emotional at the thought?

Enter Cam, who despises weddings but much to his dismay, keeps finding himself attending them. When Rachel and Cam have an encounter that opens up more possibilities, this story will definitely have you wanting more!

When they agree to start being each other’s plus one, things start getting even more interesting as this slow burn 🔥 starts sizzling!

This was such a fun contemporary romance and I loved getting to know these characters!! Thank you so much to the author and Grey’s Promotion for providing me with this ARC copy for my honest review. 🫶🏻

After the heaviness of Onyx Storm I needed something light, sweet and easy to read. This book definitely delivered the vibes I was needing.

I love the quote "You started as being my plus one, but you were my everything all along." as it really encapsulates Rachel and Cam's dynamic—starting off as each other’s “plus one” but realizing they were always meant to be the “everything” for each other. The slow burn and eventual payoff was totally worth the frustration.

What frustration you ask? Just the aspect of miscommunication. I definitely wanted to jump into the book and give Cam a good ole shake but we got to see how everything came together in the end. There's something really satisfying about watching characters work through their baggage and finally fit together like that perfect puzzle, don’t you think?

Overall this was a sweet and easy read and had some beautiful swoonworthy moments.

Thank you to @angela_haas_writes and @greyspromo for giving me this ARC. I'll definitely be looking at Angela's other books 😉.

This book is a cute lighthearted story about Rachel and Cam. They are both fielding wedding season like it’s a military exercise. They run in the same circle of friends.
Rachel works in her family’s business and Cam is an investor. Rachel is tired of going to weddings alone but Cam is pretty allergic to weddings. Rachel convinces Cam to be her plus one and soon Cam is asking the same of her.
To top it off both of them are dealing with exes in very different scenarios.
This is a slow burn story but they have great chemistry and banter. There are a lot of funny lines and there is an awesome friend group of characters.
Thank you to Angela Haas and Grey’s Promotions for the ARC opportunity!!

This is a pretty typical friends-to-lovers rom-com about perpetually single people who never have a plus one to typically couples events. They both have terrible exes who, of course, come out of the woodwork to wreak havoc on their lives.

They have some spicy moments together but they aren’t supposed to mean anything until they do. They have to figure out themselves before figuring out what they are.

Once all this was accomplished, it was smooth sailing. Once again, I feel like there were moments that were unnecessary and made the book longer than it needed to be and I found myself skimming through some of it just to finish it.

Thank you Grey’s Promotions for the ARC

This book was funny, heartwarming, and incredibly relatable. As one of the perpetually single friends, I completely related to the dread of attending yet another event alone. Angela Haas did an incredible job of demonstrating that, yes, you can be happy for your friends, but it's okay to feel a certain way about how your life is playing out as well.

Rachel and Cam were such a great fit. Between their hilarious banter, their undeniable chemistry, the protectiveness they have for each other, and the way they complement each other so well, I had an amazing time reading their story. Both of them are learning how to heal themselves after being in toxic relationships and they find each other in the process.

3 ⭐️This book was a cute, fun read with all the wedding season chaos you’d expect! Rachel and Cam have great chemistry, and their banter kept things entertaining. The "fake plus-one" trope is always a good time, but I wish the pacing had been a little tighter. Some moments dragged, and the ex drama felt unnecessary. Still, it had plenty of swoon-worthy and funny moments! If you love steamy rom-coms, this one’s worth checking out.

Big thanks to Grey’s Promotions and Angela Haas for the ARC!

This is my first book by this author and I was surprised to see that it’s her first contemporary romance after having successful fantasy novels.
Cam and Rachel meet at a wedding, of course and there is instant chemistry. Neither fella like this is the right time to enter into a relationship so they make a deal to step in as each other’s “plus one” for events. They write out their rules that include not adding anything physical to the dynamic, but allow themselves some “mulligans “‘if the situation calls for it.
This story takes is to many different events with these two and along the way we learn about what causes their hesitation to love. As they spend more time together their friendship grows stronger and feelings start to grow.
There is some minor angst as these two need to resolve their own issues before they can fully commit but they do get the HEA we all want.
Not exactly a slow burn since the author does such a great job of growing the relationship with care and plenty of silly banter. It’s more of a journey than a sprint and I enjoyed the ride!

This book has some of the best banter and comedic timing I’ve ever read. There were so many laugh-out-loud moments and I fell completely in love with FMC Rachel, MMC Cam, and all of their friends. It just felt effortless and authentic in a way that’s truly unique.

It’s a super super super super slow burn, something I’m not usually a fan of, but there was so much amazing character development that I didn’t get bored and tore through it. There also is very little to no spice - like 0.5 out of 5 on the spice scale, but it was the sweetest story and I really didn’t miss it.

I’m hopeful that this is just the first book in a series - surely Zach, Roman, and Goldie need their own books?!? Keeping my fingers crossed. 🤞🏻

I received an e-ARC of this book (Thank You, Grey's Promotions), and here are my honest thoughts!

Okay, buckle up because this book is a total gem! 💎 "My Plus One = You" by Angela Haas is the perfect blend of sweet, funny, and heartwarming.

Rachel and Cam are the ultimate "always a bridesmaid, never a bride" duo. They're both carrying baggage from past relationships and have basically given up on finding love. So, they make a pact: they'll be each other's plus ones at all future weddings.

Honestly, I wanted to smack Cam a few times (in a loving way, of course!) because he was so oblivious to his feelings for Rachel. But watching their friendship evolve and their feelings slowly blossom was so heartwarming.

The writing is witty and engaging, and the characters are incredibly relatable. You'll find yourself rooting for them every step of the way.

If you're looking for a feel-good romance with a touch of humor and a whole lot of heart, "My Plus One = You" is definitely for you, releasing on Jan 30th!

When Rachel and Cameron meet at a wedding they are not excited to participate in, they forge an easy friendship. They quickly learn that they enjoy seeing each other, and when Rachel needs an escape from her mother and her ex, she finds Cam a willing participant. They quickly agree to be the other's "plus one" during wedding season. But when the chemistry builds, will they try dating for real or stay in the friend zone?
If you're looking for a slow burn, lots of flirting and low-spice contemporary romance -- this is it!

A very sweet slow burn romance from a new to me author, that I thoroughly enjoyed. The very well written plot has opposites attract, strangers to friends to lovers tropes and is full of heartfelt emotion, witty banter, humorous moments, a bit of spice and a whole cast of very likable characters.
Rachel and Cam are great, realistic protagonists with a wonderful chemistry between them. Rachel is a successful businesswoman who wants a fresh start, but her toxic mother is trying to manipulate her. Cam is a cute cinnamon roll hero who can't open up after his last relationship. Although the chemistry between them sizzles from the beginning, they both have to come to terms with their pasts before a fresh start is possible. Throughout the book, I often wanted to shake Cam so that he would come to his senses and realise how perfect he and Rachel are for each other. Rachel was like a mother bear at times as she supported and protected Cam. I loved the close bond in their circle of friends too who were always there for them.
What I also really liked is that the book tackles a serious subject that is rarely thought about, namely that men can also be abused in a relationship.

Since breaking up with her cheating boyfriend, Rachel Kicklighter has suffered from having to go to numerous weddings alone. But she is not yet ready to commit to a new steady relationship, even though she suffers from her single status. At her friend's wedding, she meets Cameron „Cam“ Nash, who seems to loathe weddings even more than she does.
Ever since Cam was dumped at the altar by his bride who ran off with his brother, Cam doesn't want a date, relationship or more. Although Rachel and Cam are instantly attracted to each other and their paths keep crossing, Cam, still suffering from the after-effects of his toxic relationship, can't ask Rachel for a date. So they agree to a platonic friendship and to accompany each other to weddings, even though they both find it harder and harder to stick to the rules...

Overall, the book has the perfect balance of light-hearted humor, deep emotion, beautiful bonds of friendship and a touch of spice. I‘m happy to recommend it!

I received a free ARC of this book from Grey Promotions. Thank you! Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own and left voluntarily.

Way to go Angela Haas! The title alone “My Plus One = You” grabbed me from the start. Think about it, you get an idea with the title, but you still wanna know how the mystery unfurls. But this is no mystery…well not to the reader.

Cameron Nash is a man of mystery to the naked eye. But the wheels behind the machine turn quickly and with determination. Strong and independent, he carries a lot on his shoulders. Of course, Cam also carries baggage that still keeps him guarded, sheltered, and protected. As good as those qualities are, life can be lonely for him, even if he doesn’t know it.

Rachel Kicklighter is that lady that everyone wants to know. She is outgoing, levelheaded, and has a knack for being able to read the room…or a person… perfectly. Hard working, she is so wrapped in her world that stepping out to find a partner is almost impossible. Anguish from past relationships only justify her decisions more.

The one thing they BOTH have in common is, they hate being single at couples' events. I’m sure there are many out there that can relate…hahaha.
I will leave it to you to put the pieces together from here. Just know, the back and forth, the self-doubts, the fears from each of them will wrap you up and have your heart racing the entire story long.

If there is one thing I discovered about this author, it is how great she spins a Slow Burn. She says this is her first time writing in the genre, but you could have fooled me. Angela Haas works her magic too well, and we-the-readers get to reap this reward.

This is a very fun, hot and sexy story. It will tug at your heartstrings one moment and have you shaking your head laughing the next. And it will have you up way past your norm, cause this book is hard to put down Well done Angela and worth all the stars!

Angela Haas is not new to writing, but this is her debut contemporary romance novel and I hope to see more of this genre from her. This story captivated me from the beginning and I was intrigued to see how our MCs journeys would progress as the storyline continued. The book was full of witty banter, swoon worthy moments, and a dash of drama when both the MCs' pasts show up in the present. The slow burn was deliciously good and so worth it.

Rachel is the owner of a popular decor store that all the local brides register in. During the wedding season, she has the mantra of “grin and bear it” when each happy bride shows up to create their dream registries. It’s not that she isn’t happy for them all, just wondering when she’ll be on the other end. But she carries some baggage that seems to make this want harder to obtain.

Cam is a local bakery owner and wedding season is a means to an end. He doesn’t enjoy working with engaged couples and their demands, but knows wedding cakes is an important part of keeping his business successful. He also has some past baggage that makes him slow to fall in love. I thoroughly loved watching him grow throughout the story as he peeled back his many layers.

The chemistry that is felt between these two showcased Angela’s talent for writing relationships. Each MC goes through growth and as they discover self truths, the layers begin to fall off easily. I found myself rooting for these two to trust in their feelings and open their hearts to each other. This isn’t a story of will they or won’t they, but rather when will then, because they need to! A wonderful story that is a must read.

As always, review any author notes before reading.

✨ Book Review: My Plus One You by Angela Haas ✨

“She knew she loved him when ‘home’ went from being a place to being a person.” — This quote from the book perfectly captures the magic of this romantic comedy!

Angela Haas delivers an irresistibly charming, laugh-out-loud, and deeply heartfelt romance with My Plus One You. From the very first page, I was hooked by Rachel’s witty narration and the chaos of being a perpetual bridesmaid—ten weddings deep and still wondering, When is it my turn? Enter Cam Nash, the last-minute groomsman stand-in who turns Rachel’s wedding season blues into something unexpectedly thrilling.

This book is packed with sizzling chemistry, banter that will make you grin like an idiot, and moments that make your heart do that little squeeze. Rachel and Cam’s dynamic is the perfect mix of slow-burn and electric tension. Cam is that grumpy, broody mystery man with a past, while Rachel is the sunshine with a streak of bad luck in love—but together? Fireworks. 🔥

There’s humor (yes, there’s a scene involving rogue shirt buttons and tight pants that had me cackling), there’s heartache, and there’s the kind of romance that makes you believe in love all over again. Not to mention, the side characters are just as lovable! Friends, weddings, and unexpected love? This book has it all.

If you adore rom-coms with swoony moments, fake-dating tropes that turn into something real, and a story that leaves you feeling warm and fuzzy, My Plus One You is a MUST-READ. 💕

⭐ Rating: 5/5 ⭐

- Instant attraction
- Grumpy/sunshine
- Wedding meet cute
- Banter

I absolutely loved this book and could NOT put it down! I could easily see this being made into a movie. The storyline was so cute and quirky and the characters were absolutely made for one another.

I am a fan of banter, so the witty dialogue between Cam and Rachel made me so happy!

The two meet for the first time at a mutual friend's wedding where Cam stepped in for one of the groomsmen. Although Cam really doesn't like weddings, he showed up for his friend. He and Rachel have a lot of chemistry, but neither act on it. But after they keep running into one another in town (and of course by design from their friends), they begin an unlikely friendship, of sorts. Cam, after duress, agrees to be Rachel's plus one for the remainder of the wedding season.

The cute little acts back and forth between them (him sending her weeds, her dubbing him Hot Baker in a review) made this story that much more special. I cannot recommend this enough!

It’s wedding season and if you’ve been a bridesmaid more than five times you’re thinking when is it my time. Well this is Rachel she owns a store that brides like to register at and it the beginning of wedding season and she just wants her guy, but she’s having a hard time finding him. Now Cam is the same but he’s a baker and he dislikes working with engaged couples. These two meet at a wedding where she’s a bridesmaid and he’s a fill in for the groomsman who injured himself. They meet they like each other but they leave with other people. So in the heart of wedding season it’s horrible to be single. So these two agree to be each other’s plus one. Now this book is a slow burn because as they start to enjoy each others company, they get visitors and realize they need to do some self reflection and work on themselves. This is a new author to me. I enjoyed the sunshine grumpy trope. I like the interesting plot and there was some good banter between them. But some parts of the book were slow moving but overall a cute, lighthearted book about finding love.
