Nora Thomas is absolutely my favorite independent author. She writes stories that are captivating, sexy, and inclusive. I just love that combination. Restored brings the story of Flynn. An ice hockey player who has dealt with extreme pain in his life. One day his entire life changes when he receives a call from the local hospital. He is now the only parent to a recently orphaned new born baby. His new daughter has CHD and her mother passed away while giving birth to her.
Flynn works hard to provide everything the baby needs. Eventually hiring her nurse from the hospital, Mia. Mia and Flynn bring out the best in one another. This is tough because of Mia's stalker ex boyfriend. Thankfully, Flynn's family can help with that. They are the Irish Mob! They are also professional athletes. This series is seriously amazing. And everything you need to escape with a fun, fast paced book.
Thank you Nora Thomas for the ARC copy in exchange for my honest review.
Omgosh this story was amazing. Can you imagine getting a call and being told you’re a dad when you had no idea that you even had a baby? And to make matters worse, the baby’s mother passed way. Flynn heads to the hospital to see a beautiful nurse holding his baby. Never have been a parent before, Flynn asks her if she’ll be his home nurse. She agrees. Them both realize they’re blooming attraction for one another. So they decide to act on it. He’s a wonderful father and a great protector to Mia (the home nurse) as she’s dealing with a clever violent ex. This story was so touching and loving. Romantic and just awesome. I loved Flynn as a father and a wonderful man to Mia. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story.
I couldn’t wait to get this book. I know the lucky ones series is just starting I was sad to read the last story of the Byrne men.
This book hooked me from the beginning and I didn’t want to put it down. Flynn is lost is grief and just going through the Motions of life until his world is flipped upside down. Due to his over protective tendencies he meets Mia.
Mia fits him and his family perfectly. Flynn needs someone to be open and honest with him, but also someone who won’t run scared. That is MIA!
This book has representation , found family, love after loss , and hockey romance. Sign me up!

**ARC READER** This is the first book I've read by Nora Thomas and I truly enjoyed it! We follow hockey star Flynn Byrne who has his life turned upside down when he receives a call from the hospital telling him his baby was just born (one he didn't know existed before) and the baby momma died during labor. When he gets to the hospital, he finds his baby in the arms of Mia, a beautiful nurse who helps him get through those first couple of hours. Later on, Flynn hires Mia to be his baby's in-home nurse, and energy sparkles between them every time they're together until they finally decide to follow their feelings and start a relationship.
Their love story is very sweet. Flynn is a loving and caring Daddy and shows the same amount of care, love and respect for Mia. He also protects her from her stalking and violent ex-boyfriend. And Mia always knows how to comfort and support Flynn when he needs to.
Overall, I enjoy the book and quite like the characters. Having a sick baby myself, I can relate easily to the anxiety the MCs felt every time they were at the hospital. The only issue I had was because I hadn't read the previous related book series, and in the first few chapters there were many side characters involved. It was hard to remember who each of them was, that I had to make a list of them so I could follow up easily. So my recommendations is to read the previous books before going into this one, so you can fully enjoy it =)
Thank you for the opportunity to read this book and I'm looking forward to Knox and Reagan's story!
Flynn’s whole world is turned upside down with one phone call. He’s become the father to a newborn he knew nothing about. Not only that, but his daughter has a congenital heart defect.
With the anxiety of managing her condition, & his professional commitments as a hockey player, Flynn looks into hiring a travel nurse to be with Brianna when he’s on the ice.
Mia is the nurse who held Brianna from the moment she was born until the moment Flynn turned up at the hospital - & she’s struggled to get him off her mind. When she leaves her cheating douchey ex boyfriend, moving from the city to a smaller town, & runs into Flynn & Brianna at the local coffee shop, it’s clear neither of them forgot the other.
Flynn hires Mia, & the attraction only grows until it bubbles over & they share a kiss. Neither of them can deny their feelings; & Flynn has a lot to work through in order for this to work.
But Mia is keeping a secret; & she’s worried about telling Flynn & adding to his worries. But can Flynn, Mia & Brianna come through the other side?
This is a book about found family & love after loss & it’s beautiful.
OMG couldn’t put this book down it was so good, I know there are more books in the series since this is only the second book, but Flynn was the last of MY Bryne men and I don’t know how I will ever go on 😭. I just need to say that I just love how close these people are not just Bryne’s but also the lucky ones, they aren’t blood, but you wouldn’t know it the way they are just there. Mia and Flynn met on what is probably the hardest day of his adult life (because as a kid he lost a lot) and they had an instant connection. Months later when Flynn needs a traveling nurse to help with his daughter Mia comes back in the picture and that connection can no longer be ignored. This book broke me in ways the others didn’t, this book was very well written, the story line was great and I can’t express how much I just love this little found family. I just love Nora Thomas she is an amazing author!!!!
Ugh this book!! I loved getting to see Flynn and his progress after all his heartbreak. Losing Annie and Zach really messed him up and I’m so glad he found someone to bring him out the other side - both his daughter and Mia. I loved reading his story and seeing him mend fences with his brothers more as well! Especially Rowan. I’m hoping even though the Byrne siblings are all done, that they might still make some cameos in the other Lucky books!! I cried when the guys mentioned Zach and really hope there’s some flashbacks or more info on his relationship with Knox. Seeing those feelings in the chapters narrated by Knox, and hearing more about their friendship made me so sad, but I’m really hoping he’s brought up more in Knox’s book. I can’t wait to read all of the Lucky books next!!! Thanks to the author for another great arc read.
Flynn is a professional hockey player who finds out he has a newborn daughter, but the mother (who he used to hook up with) passed away during childbirth. Mia is the labor and delivery nurse who feels instantly connected to both the baby and Flynn. When Flynn needs a travel nurse to stay with the baby during hockey games, Mia is the perfect choice.
There's so much going on in this book! Hockey romance Single Dad x Nurse Slow burn, then spicy 🌶🌶🌶 Mafia family Found family Care during medical emergencies Dealing with past trauma
The author has a series about the 4 oldest brothers in the mafia family. This book is the second in the sequel series about the younger brothers and their found family. You don't have to read the other books in order to love this one, but you'll desperately want to read them anyway!
I knew this day would come but I'm having a hard time accepting that this is the last book of the Byrne men 😭 I absolutely devoured this book! Flynn and Mia's story was everything I needed and more. Of course I loved still getting all of the Byrnes throughout the book as well! I still don't think I can pick a fave Byrne because they are all amazing in their own ways. I loved the confidence that Flynn and Mia both grew throughout the story individually as well as a team. They are both resilient and make a great couple! I loved how their little family unit grew closer as you kept reading. If you haven't read any of Nora's books yet please start from the beginning, you will NOT regret it!!!

5⭐3🌶️ ARC First Person Dual POV Mia and Flynn Nora. Noorrrrrraaaaaaa. You're k!ll!ng me!!! I love this family, can't pick a favorite. Little baby Flynn, last of the Byrne men, sad. I love him. First page to the last, he is perfection. And Miss Mia. Loving her too. Girl should have left her ex way sooner than she did. She also was great from start to finish. And is feisty enough to fit in with this crowd.
Baby bear Rhett is a teenager 😭😭😭 How'd that happen?!?

Nora has done it again! I am such a softie for a well written single dad and Flynn checked all of those boxes. Reading the way that he instantly loved and became protective of baby Brianna was exactly what I needed. No wonder Mia was so enthralled. This isn’t your typical romance though. We get Irish boy, hockey boy, mob family and single dad all in one! My favorite part of Nora’s writing is how she always provides a voice for the marginalized. I loved the intentionality of choosing to highlight women of diverse skin colors throughout the book. Definitely worth the read!
Really loved this book - this was my first Nora Thomas book in this universe and it definitely made me curious to know the other back stories as well. Mia was a total badass FMC, and Flynn was such an amazing dad, in touch with his emotions even with his identity as a hockey player and a member of a mafia family. Their love story was beautiful and Baby Breezy was the cutest little baby imaginable. I would say that he is more of a morally off-white character rather than morally grey though if that’s holding up a decision to read.
I knew this day would have to come at the very start Last of the Byrne brothers. This book broke me in ways I never imagined would have. The last of the Byrne brothers a hockey player meets his nurse Mia on the day that turned his world upside down and almost stopped! Nora has you as a page turner with this book. It’s a must read if you like a captivating love romance books! Nora makes you feel like you’re a part of the family while reading about the Byrne brothers. Run don’t walk to get this book and all her other ones!!!
I was so excited to recieve nora thomas second book restored after arc reader restored earlier this year and it didnt dissapoint The story line of flyn becoming a farther was so sweet & Heartwarming but as the same time it was also heartbreaking Then theirs mia who caring and kind hearted, the connection that blossoms between the 2 of them is filled wirh tension in the best way I loved the found family aspect and finding love after lost even at the hardest time in his life A story filled with emotionally hard moments aswell as Beautiful heartfelt ones
*** ARC reader Review*** I love this book! As a parent to a NICU baby it made this book relatable in many ways. If you want a good romance read with a strong MMC, this is the the book to read! It definitely checked all the boxes. Mafia. Romance. Single Parent. Professional Hockey. Family. You will also find yourself falling in love with each of the Byrne men and the protectivness and love they have for each other!
Restored is book 2 of the Lucky Ones series. This one is hockey star Flynn Byrne and nurse Mia's emotional journey. It's a great single father story and is so easy to get lost in. When his world is set on end Flynn finds the perfect person to help him balance everything back out. What starts as a professional relationship changes paths pretty quickly and they take us on a journey I wouldn't mind going on again. Restored is a great read and 100% recommended!
I'm loving the Lucky Ones series!!! Flynn has seen such tragedy in his young life. When he finds out that he has a daughter and the mother has died, he becomes very protective and makes sure that she has all she needs. Mia is hired to be her nurse since she has heart problems. I love Flynn!!! He is so sensitive and is such a big teddy bear. Flynn is my favorite so far!!
So emotional and captivating. Flynn and Mia captured my heart along with Baby Brianna. As a mother, this pulled at my heartstrings and I cried a few times while reading this. I was so happy to find out about the other series and the first book in this series and immediately put them on my TBR. Happy reading!
I loved this. Grime the very beginning I knew that Flynn was going to be the best dad. And Mia. 🥰 I love Mia. She is sweet and kind, but she can hold her own when she need to. As this series develops I enjoy learning more about the lucky ones and their friendship/family. The way this book had me gripped like the last one is amazing and I can’t wait for the next ones.
Nora writes characters in a way that pulls your heart in from the beginning. The story involves love and heartbreak and family that overcomes odds stacked against them. I’m not gonna post spoilers but you absolutely need to read all of her books and let the Byrne family become part of yours
