Truthfully, most of the poems were too sappy for me, but if I were more romantic, I would have enjoyed most of the book. There were 12 sections, and each one included poems that fit a different mood such as Challenging Love, Fleeting Love, and Passionate Love. I thought the more interesting poems came from the Irreverent Love section:
Loss The day he moved was terrible—That evening she went through hell. His absence wasn't a problem But the corkscrew had gone as well. ~Wendy Cope
I guess there may be a section for everyone.
Update: Who am I kidding? I am a sappy, romantic fool who goes through cynical moments. I liked this book a lot...
Personally, I only found a small amount of poems in this book that I appreciated or loved. However, I think the compilation has a good variety in it, and I love the size and binding of the book.
