A holiday road trip with the one who got away

It was the artisan cheese I fell for first. Then I met its maker at my best friend's wedding. Pippa Wallace. A goddess in glasses. We shared one dance, and I was lost. But we live on separate continents, so I settled for friendship.

Now three years later, I'm back in Scotland about to embark on a road trip to deliver a massive Christmas surprise to my best friend... and Pippa's come down to drive with me.

It doesn't take long to figure out this attraction is mutual. But it's going to take more than five hundred miles, a flat tire, and an inn with only one bed to convince her to take a real chance on us. Especially as I've got more than a few million secrets in the bank.

2.5 stars rounded up. This is just a morsel of a book. It’s cute and quick with a long distance friends to lovers on a short road trip together premise. It could have felt more complete with just a little more added though.

Written in first person, dual POV. No ow/om drama and both seem experienced but no history given.

The foundation of their relationship occurred previously off page (these events also take place after other books in a series and stands alone but feels a little dropped into as well). Not much info is given on the main characters but what is there is sweet. The h has a cheese business and a coding job, the H is a rancher and secretly wealthy. They’ve communicated for a couple years after meeting at a wedding and their dynamic is good with nice chemistry.

Their road trip is fraught with complications though that they rise above and end up happily crossing the friendship line. One steamy scene with references to others. Once to their destination, the H’s omission of that wealth causes a few minutes of a blip before they’re almost immediately back on course. The epilogue is HFN with the H moving to Scotland to explore what’s between them.

No real Christmas themes other than it being cold and the purpose of their trip involving a gift from the H to his best friend. Actual Christmas time is lumped in with the other updates in the epilogue when we’re told how they saw each other’s families around the holiday.

This fun holiday novella is a spin off from the Kilted Hearts series and gives readers the HEA for Pippa and Zeke. It is written in first person from an alternating dual POV, can be read as a standalone, and ends in a HEA.
I adored the friendship that Pippa and Zeke have formed over the past 3 years since Zeke’s best friend Raliegh moved to the Scottish Highlands. I adored the affection and attraction they both secretly shared. I love a one bed holiday romance, and this one was fab. I especially liked seeing Zeke in his cowboy element but in Scotland. HOT. I adored the heat between Zeke and Pippa. This was a wonderful add on to the series. I am excited to see more glimpses of them in the current Special Ops Scots series set in their village.
I am voluntarily leaving this honest review after receiving an advance reader copy of the book.

A holiday road trip with the one who got away

I was happy to hear that Pippa and Zeke were going to get a HEA - I really loved them together! From the shared dance on you knew these two should get together….eventually.

Pippa agrees to help Zeke navigate the Scottish back roads so he can deliver a surprise to his best friend and well, things don’t go exactly to plan. I love road trip mishaps (maybe because it makes me feel better about my own road trip shenanigans over the years.) From a flat tire to a room with one bed, these characters had me smiling.

This novella is a fun and quick read - you can definitely read this as a standalone too!

Zeke and Pippa were just so stinking cute together, and I think we’ve all been waiting anxiously to see what would develop from the sparks between this pair we first saw all those many books ago. I love how the author’s real-life comedy of errors became the basis for the insurmountable obstacles our leading couple would face on their way to Happily Ever After. I only wish we had even more time to spend with these two.
I received a complimentary advance copy of this book from the author.

I devoured this novella so quickly, Pippa was adorable and I love a good only one bed trope.

With only one mild scene, this was definitely a great novella for someone who’s not a full on smut lover. But as a certified smut lover, it was just as good.

All it took was three little words from the blurb to pique my interest: Scotland, road trip, and Christmas. Kilted All The Way sounded like a perfect way to spend a cozy evening in. I had never read anything by author Kait Nolan, and I had no idea it was a spin-off from her Kilted Hearts series. Pippa and Zeke’s story was long awaited by some readers but was written as a total standalone for anyone to pick up and enjoy without having read any of the books in the series. It didn’t take long to immerse myself in the story, get comfortable with the characters and the Scottish slang, and just enjoy Zeke and Pippa’s adventure across the country in a horsebox.

This was a fun holiday novella set on a road trip across Scotland at Christmas time. Their road trip is met with numerous obstacles that set the stage for Zeke and Pippa to explore the possibilities of turning their three-year friendship into something more. Things get a little steamy when their mishap leads them to a one-room, one-bed situation and their mutual attraction for each other becomes evident. To later find out that some of these mishaps were born out of the author’s reality made them all the more hilarious. Zeke seems pretty easy on the eyes, and seeing his cowboy looks through Pippa’s eyes was fun as she brought all the cowboy fantasies to life.

The author had me totally engaged in the story, and she opened up a whole new world of books and characters for me to enjoy. I’m happy I came across this short story and look forward to reading more from author Kait Nolan.

I only bought and read this novella because it was part of a series that I enjoyed. That series was not POV. Why was this written in POV? I hate POV. It seems to me that a lot of description is left out in POV form. The chapters alternate between Pippa and Zeke. That confuses me. The character started talking about the best friend Raleigh. I could not understand why Pippa considered him her best friend. Then I realized the chapter was from Zeke's POV.

Since I had read Kait Nolan's newsletters, I knew what would happen about the problem with credit cards and cash. I have been to the UK many times. I never leave home without cash for the country of my destination as well as US cash. I often found myself converting US cash to pounds after spending the pounds that I brought with me. There are just times that one cannot use a credit card. I am really surprised that Pippa did not have cash as she was Scottish. She should have at least had enough cash to buy food. Even in the US there are cash only places, though they are rare.

Unfortunately I just did not like the novella.

I like reading books that take place in Scotland and Ireland as they are 2 of my favorite places to visit. However, I will not read any of the books in the new series as they are POV, even though the blurbs sound interesting.

This is written by USA Today best selling Author Kait Nolan. This is a novelette in A Kilted Hearts series. While I have not read the others in the series they said this could be read as a standalone. This short story is about two friends that come together to bring his best friend his beloved horse back. He needs her to help him navigate the roads in the small town in the Scotland country side. While they have been friends for a few years, they have never gone the road to anything but friendship until their trip has some hiccups and they have to share a bed at the inn. As they discover their feelings for each other they realize they both feel the same. Which this was short over the course of 24 hours, I feel like this book could have explored so much more into their relationship. While this isnt favorite book, you may feel different and if you have read the other books in the series maybe this book makes more sense to you. Thanks for the arc Sunny Babe PR

Kilted All the Way by Kait Nolan is a delightful holiday novella that captures the magic of a cozy road trip romance. Though under 100 pages, the story delivers a perfectly paced journey of friendship blossoming into love. The chemistry between the characters feels genuine, and their shared history adds depth to their relationship. The transition from friends to lovers isn’t rushed, making the climax of their love story feel both natural and rewarding.

The holiday road trip through the Scottish countryside is the perfect backdrop, adding warmth and charm to the story. The journey to deliver Zeke’s best friend’s horse as a Christmas present is heartwarming and filled with festive cheer.

And of course, the “only one bed” moment in a quaint country bed and breakfast was absolutely adorable. From the popped tire to their growing closeness in this intimate setting, it had me squealing with joy.

If you’re looking for a quick, feel-good holiday romance with sweet characters and all the cozy vibes, Kilted All the Way is a must-read!

Kilted All the Way by Kait Nolan is a festive, heartwarming road trip romance that’s the perfect holiday read! With a blend of Scottish charm, friends-to-lovers sweetness, and laugh-out-loud mishaps, this novella will have you smiling from start to finish.

Set in the picturesque backdrop of Scotland at Christmastime, the story follows Pippa, a talented cheesemaker, and Zeke, a swoon-worthy cowboy, as they embark on a road trip to deliver a special surprise to Zeke’s best friend. What starts as a simple journey quickly turns into an adventure filled with unexpected challenges—flat tires, cash shortages, and, yes, a classic one-bed situation that sets the stage for sparks to fly.

Fans of the Kilted Hearts series will love seeing Pippa and Zeke’s long-awaited story come to life, but newcomers can easily enjoy this standalone novella without having read the series. Kait Nolan masterfully captures the easy affection of longtime friends, the simmering tension of unspoken attraction, and the magic of the holidays.

5 Star Review Kilted All The Way (Kilted Hearts) by Kait Nolan

What’s better than a story set around the holidays? Nothing in my opinion, it’s a magical time of the year and when it’s written by the very talented Kait Nolan then I am all in.

I fell in love with Scotland a few years ago, so whenever I get a chance to read a book set in the Highlands I will take it.

This is Pippa Wallace and Zeke Shaw’s story and although a Novella, Ms. Nolan packed it full with entertaining and heart warming memories.

We first met Zeke, who is Raleigh’s best friend in the first book and I thought he was a wonderful character. This book proved he is.

They met three years ago and had a connection but living on opposite sides of the wind meant a relationship was impossible. Or is it?

There were several twists and turns that had me on the edge of my seat and although a short, it was a fabulous read.

A little holiday cheer in the Kilted Hearts series!

This is a super short read and could happily fill a lunch hour for most readers. Set at Christmas time, Zeke, BFF for Raleigh, has come up with the best present for her buddy - he's bringing him his horse from the USA.

Pippa also has plans to return to Scotland for Christmas, so the friends decide to road trip together. They may have missed their chance once but will cupid shy away once again?

Pippa and Zeke are trued friends to lovers. The spark was there but the distance between their businesses kinda put the kibosh on the potential romance. Now forced to travel together all those pent up chemicals are playing with their emotions and they may get more out of this trip than just delivering a horse!

Can I just say that cowboys, no matter where, are HAWT! LOL. Even in our rubbish Scottish weather - gimme a man in a cowboy heart and wranglers any day! Great ending and I would have loved to have seen more of their relationship building over the years but then I'm a greedy so-and-so!

Kilted All the Way is a light, festive story set in the Scottish Highlands. Although this story is part of a series, it is not necessary to have read the previous stories. (I would recommend that you do so just because they are fun to read!)
I was glad to see Zeke back in Scotland to visit his best friend. So often we read about the "best friend" in one book but then never hear from them again. Not so with Kait Nolan. She has a gift for keeping you up to date with characters from other books in the series. I really enjoyed the way Nolan was able to bring Zeke into Kilted All the Way - very clever!
Pippa was an okay character - nothing too special about her. I loved the storyline and the way Nolan connected everything together but Pippa was just not real memorable.
Whether you are a Kait Nolan fan or someone that likes to read light, holiday romance books, you will enjoy this one.

Kilted All the Way is a short novella and a joyful festive romance and a wonderful holiday read. It is predominantly a road trip romance full of Scottish charm. It has plenty of sweet romance, a hint of sizzle and chemistry, along with gentle humour.

It takes place on a drive to Scotland at Christmas, as Pippa and Zeke deliver a special surprise from Texas by way of London. We have met these characters before and whilst can be read stand-alone, I think you get more enjoyment and context if you have read the series.

What should have been a simple task, turns into a prolonged trip enabling the romance to heat up, chemistry to sizzle and sparks to fly. This is a great addition to the Kilted Hearts series and sweetly highlights the blossoming friendship, the deepening affection, and the joyful festive feelings.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

I love the holidays so I’m always up to read a Christmas romance especially one that set in the Highlands of Scotland. If you love magical Christmas reads look no further than Kilted All The Way (Kilted Hearts). This is Pippa Wallace and Zeke Shaw’s entertaining and heartwarming story.
Pippa and Zeke met years ago and a band was formed but living on opposite sides of the world meant a relationship was going to be difficult. But three years later Zeke is back in Scotland and he has decided it’s going to take more than five hundred miles, a flat tire and an inn with only one bed to convince Pippa to give him a chance……
This quick read ticked all my boxes, I smiled, I swooned and I sat in the edge of my seat and twists and turns hit me when I least expected it.
I really enjoyed this magical Christmas read because I needed to know this couple got the HEA they both deserved.

Another Texas cowboy in Scotland. Oh most definitely! Zeke and Pippa have been friends and communicating with each other for three years. He loves her cheeses and has a serious crush on her as well. Now he needs her help with a big Christmas surprise for his buddy, Raleigh.
To complete the surprise requires a road trip involving a horse box. See the surprise is Zeke has purchased Raleigh's horse that was sold in him years before
Now what road trip ever runs smooth? Definitely not this one. We get detours, flat tires, money issues like no ATMs or internet for credit cards, a one bed situation and more that leaves us laughing and in love with Zeke and Pippa even more. A whimsically adorable novelette. A true Kait Nolan winner

I have to say I got curious about Pippa and Zeke every time I read Kait Nolan's Highland series especially the Kilted Hearts series. The couple have been mentioned about Zeke's obsession with Pippa's cheese like forever and at some point, I thought I missed their book as if Nolan published it as a novella in a book collection somewhere I didn't know... So you can guess my reaction when Nolan announced about this book (of course, I was so glad and thought "Finally!", LOL.

The story is delightful with Zeke's surprise (s?) and enjoyable with Zeke and Pippa's road trip but also has a little bit of drama when Zeke has to reveal his surprises.

I also adore these Highland ladies and can't wait for Saoirse's book... I got curious who she will end up with with her sassy girl attitude in this book ;)

Pippa and Zeke were so cute together! Even though the story was short, their friendship was apparent and formed the perfect foundation for this road trip romance.
As an avid road tripper I can attest to the fact that things often go wrong and you have no choice but to adjust or lose your mind and I loved that Pippa was such a levelheaded problem solver. She was strong and sweet, the perfect combination.
The cheese maker and the cowboy wasn’t a romance I knew I needed but these two were so wonderful. And the whole reason for Zeke’s visit? I mean, seriously, how can you not fall in love with this guy?
A fun, holiday read set in Scotland during the holiday season, it was a quick, easy and swoon worthy read!

Pippa has a passion for making cheese and Zeke is the best friend of her landlord and lives in the USA. After meeting, they continued to stay in contact and did the modern day pen pal thing for quite awhile and became great friends, while seeing each other every once in awhile when he would come to visit his buddy. Then Zeke brings a horse over and needs her help to drive the horse trailer since he isn't familiar with the roads and driving on the other side. A series of unfortunate events occur and they both get to spend quite a bit more time together then they hoped and those feelings they weren't sure they other had for each other get to come out and play. A super fun quick read that almost had me waking up my hubby from laughing before bed.

A holiday story set in Scotland? Yes, please! I love every Kait Nolan book (and I’ve read them all), but the ones set in Scotland are my favorites.
The characters in the novella appeared in previous stories, but the author is very adept at giving her reader the background information needed to understand who everyone is and how they connected in Scotland. Therefore, this can definitely be a stand-alone book. If you want a sweet, yet spicy, romantic story, this is it! It was so delightful reading how the two main characters took their long-term friendship to the next level. I want to read more of their story!! And I’m confident we haven’t read the last of Pippa and Zeke.

This was a really sweet friends to lovers romance. This is a standalone - I have not read any other books from the series, its not needed but I think it would have added more background to the characters.

Zeke and Pippa have kept in touch and have an attracton to each other, but have not crossed the line as they live in different countries. When a road trip to deliver a suprise present puts them alone together, they can't resist the chemistry they clearly have.

These two were so sweet together. It was a heartwarming romance with a cute epilogue.

- one bed / forced proximity
- friends to lovers
- novella

This is a sweet Christmas story. If you have been reading this series, you will remember that Pippa made the best cheese around. Pippa and Zeke had become good friends and may have had dreams of being more. Zeke was best friends with Raleigh who they grew up together in Texas. Zeke wanted to give Raleigh a surprise Christmas gift that he asked Pippa for help getting the present to Raleigh. What happened on Pippa and Zeke’s way back to where Raleigh lived was fraught with problems. Even with the problems I was glad that Zeke and Pippa had time together. This is such a sweet ending. I encourage you to read the book.

Feel-Good Holiday Short Novella to Enjoy with a "Cuppa" and Escape to Scotland - Perfect

This is a wonderfully written, dual POV, short story in the Kilted Hearts series. Although it works as a standalone with many fun holiday tropes - friends to lovers, pen pals, road trip, only one bed, cowboy in a kilt (oh my!) - it is probably more fun if you have read the rest of the series and know the background and side characters. Either way it is a one-sitting read (you won't want to put it down), is perfect for the holiday season, and will probably get you hooked on the rest of the series - Enjoy!

I was sent an ARC by the author and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review.

Didn’t know what to expect with Zeke and Pippa’s story and was delighted nonetheless. I loved how Kait Nolan weaved a story between these two!! Some thing I’d wished would happen since they met in one of her other books, Cowboy in a Kilt. From the Kilted Hearts series.

Their story starts off a couple years after they first met. Ms. Nolan created a wonderful situation where Zeke and Pippa end up spending some quality time together. The real life situation of one thing after another only fuels the fire, so to speak.

Overall, a light hearted, filled with promises and heat, and the easy affection of friends, it makes for a wonderful story at the time of the holidays.

Love on a road trip

I loved Pippa and Zeke’s long distance, friends to lovers, double pining, road trip, one bed novella. It was a feel good story and I smiled through the whole thing. Pippa lives in Scotland and makes artisan cheese from Highland cattle. Zeke is a Texas cowboy. They met three years ago when Zeke was in Scotland and have become really good online friends. Zeke is in Scotland to give his best friend Raleigh a Christmas gift and to try to woo Pippa. Despite being short, the story was well written and included three dimensional characters, and an engaging storyline. I love this series and this was a fun and swoony couple to read about.

I have been waiting for Zeke and Pippa’s story since the first book in the Kilted Hearts series. It did not disappoint. First off Zeke is a great friend to Riley and has stood by him in all his struggles but also stuck around when he found his HEA. It’s great that he gets his HEA with somebody who is friends with first. Pippa has a great group of friends and it’s nice that we got to learn more about her in this story. This was a lovely Christmas road trip story. Who does not live a forced proximity romance at Christmas time. Favourite scene: Zeke entering the little town on the back of Zodiac.

This read was just the right mix of rom-com, with both sides of the mix doing some great things. There's something very swoon about the development of the relationship from friends who want more but see the value in their friendship, and the laughs that come from a hell-in-the-moment-but-great-story-later road trip.

My favourite part of it all was in the world building. Because Pippa and Zeke are already known to us from other Kait Nolan reads set in the Highlands, there is something uniquely satisfying about the read. It's that feeling of hearing about good news for someone you kinda know, just happy pops of joy.

*I'm a lucky fish and on the author's ARC team*

Kilted All The Way is the reunion of Pippa and Zeke. Zeke Shaw is the best friend of Raleigh Beaumont. Raleigh was tricked into winning the Castle in Glenlaig, Scotland. Zeke is Raleigh's boyhood friend who has returned to Scotland to visit Raleigh and his family for Christmas. He has brought with him a special gift. In order to get the gift to Glenlaig he has requested the help of Pippa Wallace, a young woman who has caught his eye on previous visits. Pippa makes his favorite cheese. She travels to meet Zeke and drive a horse transport van back home. The joy of the book is the various problems they encounter on the trip home.
Kait Nolan captures the reader's attention on to 500 mile journey to get Raleigh's horse, Zodiac, to his new home. Love blooms during the journey leaving both Zeke and Pippa with the dilemma of how to proceed since 2 continents are involved.

Kilted All the Way was my first time reading Kait Nolan, and I must say, it won’t be my last.

This charming and festive holiday novella featured two of my favorite tropes — “one bed only” and a fun road trip.

Despite being about 100 pages , the story was action packed and had excellent pacing. I loved watching Pippa and Zeke’s friendship gradually evolve into something more. Their unique professions — a cheesemaker and a cowboy — was so unexpectedly and I loved it, and their adventures and mishaps along the way made the story feel all the more real and had me not wanting the book to end.

Another wonderful story from Ms. Nolan, I loved reading about Pippa & Zeke's relationship. I think it's cute & funny that she included real life incidents in this story from when they were in Scotland. I don't imagine it was funny at the time, but what amazing stories for the trip!
My grandparents are from Scotland and the more I read her Kilted Hearts novels, the more I need to get over there. This was a short novella, I wish it had been longer but their love building was easy to follow and believe. I was gifted an ARC and I'm voluntarily sharing my honest opinion.
