59: A Novella, based on a true story

Rate this book
When Jane answered the door, she said, "Come on in, I'm just finishing getting ready."

But to Theo’s amazement, he saw someone laying on a tiny bed, more like a cot; in the corner facing the wall. All he saw was her butt hanging out of the covers.

He thought to himself right then and there.

“I don't know who she is, but I'm going to marry that butt.”

He approached the woman slowly, with some hesitation, so as not to scare her, and asked, "Are you ok, miss?”

1st I have to say I think the author is an amazing woman. To be able to write this beautifully written story about her grandparents had to bring many tears to her eyes, both of sadness and joy.
Theo and Miriam meet at very young ages, fall in love immediately. He goes off to war for 3 years.
Miriam is left to start a life without him, establishing herself in a home, new job.
Theo returns and they begin their life as a married couple with many bumps along the way. Bad luck, heartbreak, tremendous heartbreak and loss but they persevere together.

This is the most amazing story of resilience and true love. Miriam and Theo are adorable. Even though some parts were gut wrenching the outcome made it well worth the read. It was an emotional roller coaster ride of emotions and An adventure worth every moment. I highly recommend this book to anyone that wants to take a journey in time and kearn how true love will get you through anything!!!! I can't wait to hear what comes next!

4.5 Well, that was a very beautiful story of her grandparents, and how they started their lives and how they started their family.
This one hit me in the feels. I've actually held a child as he died in my arms right after birth. So this one hit a little close to home. It was beautifully written.
I absolutely love the story of how they met, and I still love that, quote, ("I'm gonna marry that butt") too funny.

A sweet love story.

This book is based off of a true story, the way the author wrote the book plays itself as a movie in your mind. The details in the book make you feel like your in their lives experiencing the things they are experiencing. You feel every single one of the couples emotions, their love and their heartbreak.

I loved the fact the author added notes in to clear some of the questions the reader might have had reading the book. Overall the story was an amazing true story filled with a love anyone would love to experience.

What an amazing story! I wasn’t sure what I was getting into but this cover had me sold, and seeing it circling around TikTok; I knew that I had to check it out.

It reads like a memoir with a personal touch and a lot of incredible moments, both hilarity and heartbreak.
I didn’t fall into the story right away – do keep going because you will get pulled in and then you won’t be able to stop reading! The first few pages really lay out the backstory of our characters from a very young age with a slow build, things pick up quickly from there throwing you right into the hustle and bustle!

There were so many moments that made me laugh, lines that were truly wonderful – whether some of it is embellished for the narrative or were things that they really did say, I don’t care, I will believe that they said these fabulous lines to help get them through the tough times.

Meghan, wow! You’ve done a tremendous job crafting this story, I cannot imagine the work and research involved to dig up this history and do your grandparents justice. You have done them justice – you should be so proud! This is an absolute gem you have here. I feel extremely privileged to have glimpsed Miriam and Theo’s lives told with such love and care. I laughed, I cried, I held my breath and was filled with joy.

Your story – their story – impacted me on a very deep level, thank you for sharing it with the world. It is truly a beautiful masterpiece of life, the good, the bad and those precious moments of love shared with another.
